This was our first visit. We went on a Saturday morning and it was crowded but we did not have to wait. Service was excellent. There were already water glasses and a carafe of water on the table for us as we sat down. I had the Rustic Fritatta with a side salad and a piece of ciabatta bread. The fritatta was nicely done. My husband had the salmon fritatta which he also enjoyed. The green salad was nicely and lightly dressed. The ciabatta bread was on the small side but still good. Such a disappointment, have been to several other first watch locations that have always been excellent. This one left much to desire, for the original wait being three times the estimated time, to the aloof and rude hostess, to the waitress that was never around and struggled to bring the correct items. This place is awesome! My family and I had a reservation at a separate restaurant in the area. Fortunately that reservation fell through and at the last minute all 15 of us piled into First Watch. We were hangry since many of us either hadn't eaten at all or since the wee hours of the morning. Even though there were 15 we were immediately sat and taken care of. The young blonde girl who took care of us was the best! I wish I knew her name because she deserves the recognition. She was quick and pleasant. Our drinks were never empty, she even went around at the end of our meal and OFFERED to go drinks. She was also super sweet, amazing, and accommodating to the children in our group. Now the food.... OH MY GOSH THE FOOD! By far the best brunch I have EVER had! I had the advocado toast, the best btw! You could tell that all of the ingredients were so fresh! Put so well together, so filling, so amazing. I don't think there was a single complaint from the 15 of us. My sister and I kept talking about the toast! We ended up talking to our server about what kind of bread they use. That amazing girl then told us they sell the bread there as well! Our party bought 3 loaves. Now unfortunately I will not be returning as soon as I would like but that is because I live out of town. Brunch is always that one food that I LOVE spending money on and this place is worth every affordable penny! They have a small space, but they fit you in and there is rarely a wait. I enjoy sitting in the booth by the kitchen and you can watch as all the mouth watering food passes you in a blur so you can start thinking about what else to try on your next visit. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and this location is conveniently by the Fashion Mall and a lot of other shopping options. For the food- it is all so so so satisfying! I love that hey put the calorie counts next to each menu item and that none of their option are over the top when it comes to calories. It helps you make an informed decision and yes sometimes you are gonna go for the high calorie French toast because hangovers exist, but for the days when deciding between the egg white veggie omelet and a breakfast sandwich, your decision can be swayed by your health choices. All in all everything tastes fresh and has a fun unique twist on the average American brunch. They have a seasonal menu with a lot of tempting fall treats as well as fresh juices. The only reason the last star is missing is due to the pace of service. It seems that they move at a very laid back pace, which is sometimes nice, but they do this even during lunch. I met for a quick breakfast here on a busy Saturday morning. Even with the rush, we were seated within 15-20min. Just be prepared to stand and be in the way of everyone if it's cold outside. There isn't much of a waiting area. The food came out insanely quick and the service was efficient. Ordered the standard breakfast with a Belgian waffle. Delish! I'm always happy when somewhere that is known for their artistic take on brunch can still pull off a couple of well cooked eggs and a waffle. I was excited when I heard this place was coming to town, as its philosophy is fresh, wealthy food. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be as flavorful since it's "healthy," but that was far from the truth. They bring you your own pot of coffee and there are several different creamers at the table. The pancakes are huge, fluffy on the inside & crispy outside. We had pecan & banana/granola, both which were really flavorful. They also have turkey sausage links available. Potatoes were diced and sautéed with just a little onion - yum! Definitely not the best place in town to grab brunch, but certainly not the worst. I've been to a few other locations of this restaurant and they all seem pretty much the same as far as quality goes. They have a couple new juices right now that are great! Try the Kale Tonic or the Pineapple Ginger flavor! As far as food goes, I'd recommend any of the hashes. However, I usually try to order off of the specials menu on the chalkboard because the regular menu does seem a bit short. My favorite thing about First Watch is their waiting line system. They text you when you're party is ready to be seated, and you can even download the app that it is powered by to see how many people are in front of you in line. The line for brunch was long and the waiting area small but we heard good things and the menu looked worth it. Eventually we were seated ( 30 minute wait ) and our order was quickly taken. Floridian French Toast for her, Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast for me. First thing to the table was hot maple syrup, I already love this place. The French toast was loaded with fresh bananas kiwi and strawberries. The pumpkin pancake tasted like Fall and was big and fluffy. My over easy eggs were perfect and apple chicken sausage finished off the played nicely. Our only issue was the bacon was more buffet bacon than real and my chocolate milk was a little weak. If that is my only complaint then you know this place is good to go. Great food, good service, excellent meal. read more

I found out about First Watch when I was looking for a place to hold my monthly women's group meetings. I was able to make reservations for us. But when I arrived I was overwhelmed by how crowded this place is on a Saturday morning around 11am. We had to wait to be seated about 20 minutes. But once at our table the service was great! The food was delicious. The atmosphere is quite nice for the small restaurant and once the crowd moves out you can really take it all in. Parking is a headache at times when they are super busy because they are located in a plaza. We love having our meetups here, as we like the food and the ambiance of this place, plus the service is outstanding. However, the crowdedness is a bit much. If you don't mind the wait First Watch is a great place for breakfast, brunch, or an early lunch. read more

This has become my favorite breakfast/brunch spot. My first visit to First Watch was in Atlanta, GA. I was elated to see that there was a location here in Indy. It should be called Fresh Watch because their ingredients are always so fresh. My favorite menu item is the avocado, bacon and tomato hash. It's absolutely delish! Eggs cooked to order, bacon, avocados, tomatoes and potatoes in a bowl. It's served with an English muffin and fresh fruit. Sometimes if I'm in the mood for pancakes, I will indulge in a pancake bigger than my head!! I love the blueberry and banana nut multigrain pancakes. The blueberry pancakes are made with big, juicy blueberries and compote served on the side. Was in the city for Gen Con this week, and 3 of my friends and I were looking for breakfast this past Friday morning in the city core. One of my fellow RPG enthusiasts googled local breakfast places, and we ended up at First Watch. Even at 9 a.m. on the Friday morning of Gen Con, we were able to get patio seating, and the staff was courteous, prompt and efficient. The menu was awesome, with all sorts of interesting signature dishes. I had one of their skillets, with avocado, bacon, and tomatoes. Delicious. Finally, I just wanted to give special mention to how good my server was. When I asked if I could get a to-go cup for my coffee, she not only brought one for me, but gave it to me full and hot of additional caffeinated goodness! I would definitely come back here for future conventions, and recommend this place to anyone staying in downtown Indy for business. read more

If you're looking for a health fix, First Watch is the place to go. Even though it was packed, the staff was extremely accomodating and our wait wasn't nearly as long as I thought it'd be. I ordered the power wrap with fresh fruit and bacon. Filled with egg, mushroom, and spinach, the power bar was true to its name and I felt energized and satisfyingly full (even though I could only finish 1/2 of the wrap since it was so filling). First Watch is one of those chains that was completely off my radar for quite some time. One day, I was on the Northwestside of Indy with a hankerin' (What is a hankerin' anyway?) for something new, when I spied a "First Watch" location and stopped in. I enjoyed it, but being out of the way it has never become a regular spot for me. I'm not sure when this Nora/Keystone location opened up, but judging by the 79 reviews before me I'm guessing I've been out of the loop again for awhile. The first First Watch opened in 1983, a significant year in my life for reasons I won't disclose since they would indicate the fact I'm getting old. When opened, the whole "breakfast/lunch" concept for restaurants was pretty much unheard of and, not surprisingly, they grew. They are now a national chain and still open between the hours of 7am - 2:30pm. This location is located in the strip center across from Keystone at the Crossing. It also houses multiple other businesses. I for the life of me can't remember what it was before First Watch, but this has never been a strip center I've frequented. First Watch has a fairly wide selection of breakfast/lunch options and not too long ago got into the fresh juices arena the recruiting of Shane Schaibly as Director of Culinary and Corporate Chef. There are certain chains that are marked by consistency - for example, McDonald's is always going to suck. It doesn't matter which McDonald's you go to - it sucks. First Watch, on the other hand, leans toward fresh, healthier fare with warm customer service and a comfortable atmosphere. While I've only had a few meals at First Watch, they've all been good and I'm not sure they've ever dipped down into "I won't try that again." That said, I also don't think I've ever been completely blown away by their food. It's simply good food that is fairly priced and served by friendly people. I love that they have free Wifi, complimentary newspapers and are at your table with a pot of coffee when you arrive. In this location, they have two accessible parking spots out front near their front entrance - they are ADA compliant, though probably on the lesser end of ADA. The front door is pretty workable - you enter and are immediately at a host area - to the left is the dining area and they do offer limited outdoor dining. They offer both tables and booths along with a set of high-top tables off to one side. The layout is wheelchair friendly and I found it refreshing that I wasn't slammed at the first available accessible table as usually happens. My server was Zoe. Zoe rocks. Zoe was friendly, helpful, on the spot with refills, and didn't flinch when I lingered a bit - even getting me an iced tea to go. Have I mentioned that Zoe rocked it? I ordered French Toast, which you can get with raisin bread or cinnamon bread. I opted for cinnamon bread. It was served up with 3 slices that were plentiful, but not overly decadent. It doesn't come with sides, though they do have the usual side options. At just over $10, I left feeling pretty darn happy. The food was probably a 4 for me - quite good, but simply not at 5-star level. The atmosphere was comfortable and allowed me to do my usual reading with the meal. Zoe was definitely a joy - as a person who lives alone and doesn't have family around, I always aspire to find those places that feel welcoming. Zoe definitely rocked the welcoming presence. If I could, I'd probably lean toward 4.5 stars, but I can't quite call this a 5-star experience yet. So, I'll acknowledge that this was a terrific experience and I'll definitely be back. read more

My husband and I frequent this restaurant regularly. It has become our favorite breakfast place for the high quality food and outstanding service. The standard menu is varied, but the seasonal menu always offers additional interesting and delicious meal choices. My husband loves the omelettes and mixed berry toast. I enjoy experimenting with different choices, but the parma hash skillet, Belgian waffle and million dollar bacon are my favorites. The coffee is also very good. We would go for the food, but the superior service is a major plus. The staff provides excellence from the time we enter the door until we leave. Although, the wait staff is very attentive to their particular table, they don't hesitate to assist one another when needed. I was pretty excited about stopping in here. We were seated quickly and placed our order. No substitutions even when I offered to pay an up charge (Nope) cinnamon waffle instead of regular waffle in the Trifecta. So instead I choose the cinnamon waffle. Husband got bacon, potbelly grits and son got brioche French toast. Mine seemed premade (not warm) but crunchy, but still tasty. Hubby said his was okay. I liked his. Our sons was gross. Taste like it was cooked after something foul. I spit it out and gave him the rest of mine. Bacon was awesome! The server come over to clear the plates and she asked if I wanted a box. I told her "no, it was gross" brings the check over and we left. Won't be back. read more

Have eaten here many times. We love the Trifecta with eggs, choice of meat and pancake or waffle. However, this time I ordered the Healthy crepe with fruit, granola and muffin. The coffee is great. Server was friendly and food came on time. The crepe was good and full of very fresh fruit. However the yoghurt topping was very pink and very cold, supermarket yoghurt. The granola was not sure if it was topping or cereal size. Came in a little souffle cup and was about 1/4 cup or less. No milk in sight. Too little yoghurt on the crepe to use to moisten the granola. Good flavor but dry. The blueberry muffin was very cold and totally sticky. Either right out of refrigerator or wrapped while hot and put in cooler. I have never been served a cold muffin (no butter in sight). Suggested they visit Perkins to see how to serve a muffin. I took it home and microwaved it. It fell apart and it tasted like a packaged mix without any fresh blueberries in evidence. I contacted the company and they said the cold muffin was SOP (standard operating procedure?) but must have been covered while too warm. They suggested I should have asked for the muffing to be warmed up. DUH. The yoghurt was Stoneyfield. No comment from them on any of my other issues. My husband had one of the crepe with egg choices that had a sauce on top that he said was too lemony tasting. I would go back again because I love the Trifecta but other items not as successful. read more
