This is after my husbands food arrived a full 10 minutes before mine did. It took 10 minutes to flag down the waitress to tell her I was missing the sausage and another 10 for her to bring it out. After what seems like countless breakfast food disappointments, First Watch scores a three star review from me. Located in Johns Creek and what appears to be an endless stretch of shopping plazas with an equal amount of restaurants. The interior walls and ceilings looked cool and somewhat trendy but what is up with the dated furniture? It looked like Howard Johnsons from the late 70's. (My reference from Historical pictures). From where I sat, I had a straight line of sight to the kitchen. I could see an upright stainless steel refrigerator that looked as if the cooks took their frustrations out on the door. It had "knuckle" dents on it. Anyway the food. I had their Bacado, which is a bacon and avocado omelet. It was good but I didn't care for their version of pico de gallo. It was flat and bland. Missing lemon juice, lime juice, red onions, cilantro and salt and pepper among other things. The toast, well it was very thick and yeasty. Toasted lightly but only on one side. I like my toast toasted, evenly but not burnt and scraped like the last breakfast place that we'll not mention again. Overall it was decent. I'll have to remember to ask for my toast a bit more toasted next time. Service was okay. The only annoyance was that my server was overly friendly with the gents at the breakfast bar. Hence she was a bit chatty and our food was actually delivered by another server. Finally...what's up with the condiments? No one likes side work?! Well, it's really a shame. You cannot ask for better location for a breakfast place - right in front of LA Fitness, quite closer to posh residential neighborhood and they have good decor too. But It's a shame that the food didn't deliver. I have been to First watch at this location twice before. It had always been just an ok experience. Last Saturday we went again for an early breakfast around 8 pm. The hostess welcomed us with a warm smile and we were seated promptly. we ordered our coffee and flipped through their menu. I should say, they have a creative menu with lots of puns. We ordered, 1) Tri-Athlete - Egg white omelet with Crimini mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and green chilies. 2) Chickichanga - eggs, chicken, chorizo, green chilies, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla with Vera Cruz sauce & sour cream. Served with potatoes. 3) Turkey-Avacado eggs benedict 4) One pancake. While the Tri-Athlete omelette was okay, We noticed strong canned tomatoes taste. While most restaurant used canned tomatoes, this was the first time we noticed strong can taste in tomatoes at a restaurant. That was very off-putting. With so many exciting ingredients we expected to be blown away by Chickichanga but my friend who ordered this dish said that it was an okay dish, nothing amazing but not bad either. In Benedict, the eggs were poached perfectly but turkey deli meat had some off taste, I couldn't put a finger on it but it was definitely off. So I just separated out turkey and just had the Benedict with avocado. With pretty much everything we ordered underwhelming us, only the pancake saved our day for us. It was very fluffy, delicious and huge. If you eat 3 pancakes at IHOP, you would need only one here. That big. It came with whipped butter on top and warm maple syrup on side. Kudos. And the service is good - they welcome you with a warm smile and the waiters are usually prompt and helpful. I really wanted to like this place. It was just hard to overlook the experience. Especially with better options like egg harbor just 5 mins away. If you do go, it's better to stick with basics and their delicious pancake. 2 stars. read more

The food has improved so much from the original opening. The really live the menu because the choices are original and delicious. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star from me is the wait. The service seems to take longer then most breakfast places but it is always packed. I need to try it when is has less customers to see if the service is faster. read more

I ordered the Truffle Mushroom Hash with poached eggs. It was supposed to include crimini and shiitake mushrooms. There were only THREE mushrooms in the entire dish...all crimini. The poached eggs were under cooked. It's a shame because the flavor of the dish was good. read more

This place delivers a solid 4 stars. In this day and age where people fight over brunch like they would their favorite sportsball teams, it's funny really some of the other comments. It's brunch people, not a Michelin-starred twelve course dinner show. That being said, this location delivered a solid four stars from both the food and the wait staff. Most of the items on the menu are healthier optioned, but there are the usual pork and eggs for everyone that partakes in that as well. It can be confusing if you've never eaten at a First Watch before, and due to this location's footprint, you might be seated right next to a table that has many opinions. Your ability to talk loudly doesn't go un-noticed, but you won't ruin my brunch ya heathens. The server we had was amazing. On-point and thorough enough to comment on it specifically. She was furiously handling our orders among other tables and I didn't hear much of a peep from her other tables, meaning that they are OK with sub-par or that they were actually eating. Since we were the latter, I think it's safe to say that our server is one main reason we will be coming back... Enough for a 80% tip too. I hate this location's parking lot, but that's because everyone else seems to think that because they can afford "The Ultimate Driveway Machine" that they own the road. Aside from that, this place has nestled a permanent place on our brunch docket for sure. read more

It was my first time at the John's Creek location and it did not disappoint. Always ask for the special. Special of the day was an incredible breakfast burrito that I was barely able to finish. The staff at both locations I've been to have been nothing but over the top friendly & helpful - they definitely add to the positive dining experience. Nice brunch restaurant located in a good area. The server was very attentive and brought coffee immediately. My partner ordered a coffee, which was deliciously brewed, and I ordered a Morning Meditation drink. The drink tasted very fresh, and I liked the hint of ginger (not too overpowering). I got too excited and mixed the drink before taking a picture but it orginally had two layers of color. I ordered the Farmer's Biscuit Sandwich. The sausage, egg, and everything else inside the sandwich tasted very good and melted in my mouth. I wish it was hotter though. Not sure why the temperature was lukewarm. The biscuit was a little dry, and I ended up not finishing it and breaking it apart. The potatoes were excellent! Ate way more of those than I intended. My partner ordered the Chickichanga. That was seasoned very well and very filling. The portions for both dishes was very fair, and I didn't feel super stuffed. Nice brunch. Out of the two dishes we ordered I'd say the Chickichanga was better. I would come here again if I were in the area but not sure if I'd go out of my way to seek the food since nothing stood out especially. read more

Hakuna Frittata, no worries here! I'm becoming a fan of First Watch for what it is, a casual, yet upscale daytime cafe. The menu always has some great seasonal specials, today I had the Spring Alpine Frittata, a classic omelet with asparagus, Gruyere cheese, and lemon crema (it comes with shaved ham which had them leave off) it was served with lemon dressed greens and a ciabatta bread slice. I'm a pretty good breakfast cook, so I will humbly submit my frittatas are better, but I have to commend the inspiration of the ingredients and the smart partnering with the bright greens. I have to say I am now wondering why I have never had a fresh salad like this for breakfast before, it was terrific. The service here has been great, the food quality and preparation consistent. If there's a wait they offer you coffee, which is pretty good as well, and they usually offer me a cup to go as well. I'm so thankful that I was able to come back to First Watch for a second chance visit. I came with my husband and two sons and it was like night and day from the first visit. While I do not recall the tiniest details about my visit a couple of months ago, amazingly, I do remember most things about places that I dine at (probably because I know that I have to write a review). I came in with 2 good friends (and former co-workers) of a few years here in Atlanta for Sunday brunch and the place was packed. I even remember that it was a cloudy day, as the picture I took of the outside could not count of the sunlight to illuminate it the way I wanted. As we waited, we were told that we could help ourselves to coffee. I did this, to pass the time and added some International Delight creamer to sweeten my disposable cup of joe. After chatting for about 7 minutes or so, we were seated. Very friendly service without being all in-your-face. There are some pretty unflattering reviews of this place and I will admit that this set the mood of what my experience would be like. It was actually the opposite, as I thought my meal was scrumptious. Prior to my arrival, I convinced myself that I would order something off the Healthier Side portion of the menu. Then I saw that there was a multi-grain carrot cake pancake. What?! I could not pass up (thank goodness that I did not look at the nutritional info until after the fact!!) and got it accompanied by poached eggs (I totally asked for poached eggs) and bacon. The pancake was wonderful in all sorts of way. It was shredded carrots and raisins and felt so wholesome. It had better, for all the calories that it contained! My eggs were cooked well and bacon was crispy, just as I like it. Service was swift and nice and the bill was reasonable. I would come back though I probably wouldn't go out of my way--as it is not super close by. This is not to say that you should not check this breakfast/brunch joint out. You definitely should. First time at this location. Plenty of parking space so no complication on that matter! Now to the FOOD detail; The coffee is very good specially when you add the flavor creamer that have at the table. The server brought us a taste of their new juice cooler & we like it so much that we all order them. Wife order LTO Steak & Blue Stack pancake. Daughter in law had LTO Taco. Grand Daughter had the Kid Chip Cake. Son had French Toast Monte Cristo, (in this one he request that instead of bread they can use pancake). I had Energy Bowl Muesli. Now we all the adults like what we had, specially Son. The little one took some time to eat what they serve so is a toss on her like of taste. Generally we avoid First Watch on the weekend when the place is packed and the food rushed. Regretfully, we deviated from that rule today. There were several issues. The Million Dollar bacon was very undercooked as was the home fried potatoes, despite requesting that both be cooked well-done. However, the pancakes WERE well-done to a crunchy cookie consistency. The morning market veggie omelet and holey donuts. No turkey. No pumpkin spice. It's Fathers Day and there was a limited menu. The issues weren't so much the quality of the food, but rather the service. When we arrived we were put on the waiting list and were told it would be around an hour and a half. No problem. We went and ran a few errands. When we came back the place had really cleared out. We waited another 15 or so minutes to be seated. The place was about half full now. We were a party of six. Our waitress took good care in writing down our orders and went back through them with us to make sure she had it all down correctly. She also seemed very focused on doing what she could to prevent us from having to wait long. For example, rather than wait for clean glasses, she served us our iced coffee in to-go cups. She apologized for this and said she didn't want us to have to wait. It took a bit longer than expected for our food to start coming out. When it started, it came out piecemeal, with gaps of time in between. The first two dishes came out with a mistake on one of them. The server asked who had the eggs with blueberry pancakes. We told her nobody ordered that--that it should have been chocolate chip. She left the correct dish and returned to the kitchen with the incorrect one. Several minutes later, another two dishes came out. Another several minutes, and two partial orders came out. One person had ordered an omelette and a pancake. Only the pancake came out. The other person had ordered the "Rainbow Toast" in addition to his entree. The entree was delivered but not the rainbow toast. So everyone but one person at least had something in front of them to eat. And two people only had part of what they had ordered. We asked several times on the status of the corrected order. By the time the corrected order came out the rest of the table was halfway finished. And we were still missing parts of two other orders--one person had gotten a single pancake, but her omelette still hadn't come out. Another person had his entree but hadn't gotten his rainbow toast. Another several minutes and the omelette came out. But it had the wrong type of cheese. She didn't complain about it because everyone would have been finished eating by the time the kitchen corrected it. The rainbow toast still hadn't come out. We ended up telling the waitress about it and asked her to just cancel it and make sure it was removed from the check. In addition to all of the problems with the food coming out improperly, all of the food arrived at the table lukewarm at best. Not a single item was hot. Yet, the yolks of the poached eggs on my Benedict were cooked solid. It was like all of the orders had sat for a while after they had been cooked. As I said earlier, the entire time we were seated, the place was maybe half full and there was an abbreviated menu. In my opinion, there should not have been such kitchen service issues. And while the quality of the ingredients seemed ok, the execution was off. read more

Family has been here several times. Service is friendly but can be slow. On weekends tends to get a little crowded and disorganized when trying to get seated. They do have a First Watch app that you can download and get your name on the wait list. This is helpful. Average breakfast items, everyone can find something suitable on menu in our family. I do enjoy their seeded bread, very delicious. Omelettes are hit or miss sometimes great other time overcooked. They leave out ingredients that the other first watch restaurant doesn't and service is mediocre at best. I'll come back but not to this one, not worth the money or time. Cold bacon, stale bread, extremely greasy potatoes smh. 6 people at the table and none of us enjoyed our meal. We had to shout down the waitress for some dressing. What kind of foolishness is that?? Normally I try to make my reviews funny but not today y'all cause that was so terrible it's not even funny. My friends and I wanted a post workout brunch so we walked into first watch. We were very excited to eat but when our food came we were all but satisfied. Eggs Benedict for instance, the yolk, should be runny and poached, but guess what I saw neither of those things on my plate. The sauce was a nice flavor but way too much on the plate. The shrimp and grits, bland, no flavor, and to top it off chunky. The farmhouse hash, no potatoes, overcooked egg, but the jam was tasty, and they can indeed cut up fruit. My wife and I went to First Watch today 1/18/20 for breakfast. It was around 9am and there were a few open tables so we didn't have to wait to be seated. After we were seated however, we sat there and waited for at least 20 minutes and no one ever came to take our order, not even drinks. Numerous wait staff was walking around and even stared at us a few times. It's not my job to tell the wait staff that we are ready to order. My wife and I got up and left and went to Another Broken Egg cafe down the road, which had excellent customer service. Avoid First Watch if you can. read more

I will never return to this restaurant. When we arrived on Sunday morning after waiting for quite a bit of time. we realized they were calling other people ahead of us. Then after I told them this they finally sat us, the waitress did apologize. We ordered, having a toddler with us who wanted pancakes. They served our food and the waffles had butter with onion and herbs in it, for a child not good. We sent them back after a long wait for a waitress to even come to our table. The eggs we ordered were over medium and they were very slimy. We also ordered english muffins that came cold and not toasted. It was an awful experience all the way around. We had to tell the waitress as it was so bad. She told the manager and he gave us our breakfast free. As of my second time at this location. The food had been excellent, the portions large. I definitely did return. On my third visit, service was noticeably worse than poor. It took 21 minutes to get a coffee, without silverware, though I asked repeatedly. After the coffee was cold, I went into restaurant to find my own silverware. The service continues to be slow, though there were 5 people serving a total of 7 tables. It has been over half hour since last seeing the waitress and I have had time to write this review. Based on today, as I sit here, now close to 45 minutes without having seen any food or the return of the waitress...I am forced to drop my opinion and review of this establishment. read more
