Always good food always great service. The restaurant is a little bit funky, but has a comfortableness to it like grandmas house a bit of a blast to the past. The pretzels are always fresh and hot and it's schnitzel is amazing a bit on the pricey side.

It really doesn't get much better than this around this town Some others are very good, but this place has been around for 40 years for very good reasons

Hands down one of the best European spots I've been to! The food is solid and comforting, especially the currywurst sampler and the pork shank with perfectly crispy skin and tender meat. The Bavarian Feast for Two is great for sharing. The self-pour wine wall and beer flights make the experience even better. Don't skip dessert--we had the table-side Bananas Foster. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to.

Amazing, authentic food made with love! The service is so friendly and welcoming (especially Sam & Alex). We love coming here!

Local, family-owned, consistent, excellent staff, great food every time. I've been here so many times with friends and it doesn't disappoint. Everything here is good even if you're not in a German mood, there are other choices to order. I recommend making reservations in advance.

I really went in knowing nothing about this place so I had zero expectations. Walking in, it's like a cute little old fashioned looking place with alot of knick knacks which I liked the vibe of. I do feel like the look of this place appeals to an older crowd. Our server was less than great. He just didn't seem like he wanted to be there and as first timers, he really didn't answer our questions about the food. He was very indifferent and not very friendly. When we asked if there were cocktails, he did say they have a bar so we can request whatever we had in mind but he didn't have many suggestions and overall the interaction was awkward. We did the $110 three course meal for 2 people and honestly, I don't think it was worth it. We got the spätzle for our appetizer and it was really heavy and oily. The flavor was rich but I wouldn't eat too much because you'll be full fast. I got the Shrimp and Scallops and the pasta was the best part of the dish. The shrimp was good but the Scallops were a little overcooked so it had a slight rubbery texture. I will say yhe dessert did redeem some of this meal because the bread pudding was delicious. It was sweet, warm & fresh and was the best part of the meal. Personally, I wouldn't come back because there are plenty of places that cost just as much but the food is much better and service match.

Kurt's has been on my list for a long time and when the opportunity of a date night came up I suggested this one! We came during the weekday and well, we had a bit of a feast. I thought you would need reservations, so I reserved our table. It was pretty busy for a week night so I'm glad I did reserve just in case. The ambiance is more romantic, however there are tables that can seat more. There was a whole separate room that wasn't opened when I was there, but I could see the capacity of Kurt's increase when it gets busy. So for appetizers, we got the big pretzel along with the fondue for two. The fondue was nice as there were a lot of apples that came with it. The Bavarian pretzel was a lot, just the amount. If you love pretzels, for sure get it. The beer dip was tasty. For my main I got the Jaeger schnitzel. I got this knowing that I'll be back to get their pork shank. They did have it when I was there, but I wanted to save it for my next visit. Lastly for dessert... We were so full we couldn't stuff ourselves any longer! So we actually skipped that part of the meal. Overall though, I fully enjoyed my visit to Kurt's and can definitely see myself coming back. If you're looking for a European/German experience here, check this place out.

Service was great. I loved all of the flags that went around the outside dining area & the food was good/authentic. Some things for improvement: -on the menu it shows german sweet mustard but in fact, they don't sell that so they gave us spicy mustard & honey mustard instead - which we obviously didn't even eat. -the spatzle was great but it was swimminggggg in butter (I love butter but would've liked some of it to be drained out.) -the pretzel was baked to perfection minus the amount of salt it had on it & the beer cheese that came with it.

Pretzel: The pretzel and beer cheese combination was really good. Not surprising, it was really salty after several bites. Fondue: I enjoyed this a lot. Some fondues don't have the added alcohol, but this one did. It was a good balance in flavor. Jaeger schnitzel: I'm generally indifferent towards schnitzels, but the mushroom sauce did elevate this dish. Overall, I thought that the schnitzel was a bit salty, but I enjoyed it with the mushrooms and spaetzle.

I came here for a birthday dinner date night and it was overall delicious with a nice, private ambience! The food was very rich and savory, so prepare your stomachs. Between my boyfriend and I, we split two apps, each got an entree, and split a dessert and we were so full by the end. My favorite dish of the night was the black forest spaetzle - it was super creamy and indulgent. My filet mignon edelweiss entree was also very soft and came with a lot of fun sauces. Everything else was also yummy but salty and heavy - my boyfriend had the schwabian platter which was an insane amount of meat - thick bacon and pork chop and bratwurst. Finally the black forest cake for dessert was nice and moist and sweet. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fancier german food experience!

This restaurant is the closest thing to Germany in the area. My husband has been and he said it's just like the food they had there. It's a cute restaurant and I can tell that many of the customers are regulars here. The food was pretty good. For an appetizer we got the pretzel and beer cheese and an assortment of dips. The beer cheese was pretty good! We also got the snails. I've never had snails before but my father-in-law got me to try it. It comes with some potatoes on top and the snail on the bottom. Over all it was like a mushroom with mashed potatoes. Really good! We also got this flatbread that has sausage and balsamic. It was a hit for us! For dinner I got the classic Wiener schnitzel with some sauerkraut and it was delicious. It comes with a lemon, spatzle, and lemon butter sauce. I wish there was a little more spatzles but I was glad to have enough room for dessert. My mother-in-law got the make your own skillet and said that was delicious as well. We all got dessert. I tried the apple strudel and it wasn't my favorite I will say. It's very traditional European apple strudel so if you're looking for something super sweet, it's okay. My husband got the bread pudding and that was really good! My father-in-law got the Bananas foster and to our surprise the owner came out and made it himself. I will say, he is an older gentleman. He didn't really seem too thrilled to be there. He didn't say a word to us. The only thing he did was snap at an employee because not all the fans were on and the employee couldn't tell him why every other fan was on. That was kinda awkward to watch while he was getting ready to make that. Hence why I'm giving this a four star. The wait staff was amazing and they could tell us everything about the menu, but watching the owner treat an employee like that was disheartening. The wait staff honestly looked terrified of him. Considering this is the only place I could find that isn't an hour drive to Helen or Atlanta that has great German food, I wouldn't mind coming back.

Amazing food, great service, cozy ambiance. For appetizers we ordered the jumbo pretzel and the potato pancakes. The jumbo pretzel really is jumbo! And the three mustard sauces were so good! I can't tell which one is each but i really loved one of them and liked the other two. The potato pancakes were pretty good also but it had a slightly burn taste. Entree: we got Jägerschnitzel (veal schnitzel, mushroom sauce, German pasta) and it was amazing! Full of flavor and delicious! Our friend got Schwabian Platter and he loved it. For desserts, we got the Black Forest Cake and our friend got the Chocolate Mousse. Everything was delicious! We watched the table next to us ordering the Bananas a La foster and I think it was the owner cooking it in front of them (he looks like the drawing on the menu cover).

My curiosity got piqued when I was walking by and saw gulasch on the menu board. I mean, gulasch in a food court? I'm so there. But what really won me over was the picture of the bread dumplings next to the gulasch. When I was in Prague last year, I ate bread dumplings 3-4 times a day. The entire week! Bread, in an form, is my absolute weakness. So I ordered a couple of things -- the gulasch and the frikadellen. I should have known it wasn't gonna be authentic after I found out that the Korean grandmother hostess was none other than the cook. She is the nicest, sweetest grandmother, though, and fed me like a starving granddaughther who hasn't eaten in days. The gulasch, as expected, tasted more Korean than Czechoslovakian. It was really Korean stew, if anything else. It did taste bold and flavorful, and the meat pieces were very tender. Unfortunately, the bread dumplings are only for photography purposes as I learned they'll never have it available. The frikadellen (German meat patties) were as delicious as the German version -- meaty with spinach, carrots, and a bit of cilantro in the filling. All meals come with a side of salad (and soup if requested; she gave me both). This is a good place to eat homecooked European meals with a touch of Korean. Meals start at $5.95 and portions are huge. Other menu items include pasta bolognese, schnitzel, Asian noodles, fried rice, fish, chicken tenders. Where else can you order gulasch with fried rice?

It's a small, "tucked away" bistro with low lights and chalkboard menus that give it a really warm, authentic feel. The service was also impressively fast. The Good: The soup! We ordered the Broccoli Cheddar and the Mushroom Soup. Both were fantastic, but the Mushroom Soup was the star--deep, rich umami flavor that hit the spot perfectly. The Bad: The main courses really fell short. Fettuccine Bernadette: Very creamy, but seemingly no salt was used at all. It was quite a disappointment. Spicy Chicken Panini: Pretty bland. It lacked seasoning and the peppers felt under-grilled. The Verdict: While the server was great and the soup was memorable, the rest of the meal didn't justify the struggle to find parking. We've flagged this as a place we likely won't return to, unless we're just stopping in for a quick bowl of soup.

The bartenders were very attentive; even with the busyness of the bar because of happy hour. I didn't order any food items from the HH menu but I did order a cocktail which was the limoncello spritz. The star of my visit was the Caesar salad which they call the grilled gems. There's 3 whole wedges of lettuce, grilled and drizzled with Caesar dressing and a hemp of Parmesan cheese. And they did not skimp on the cheese. And honestly that's how you're a Caesar salad is supposed to be. I would've LOVED to have croutons or maybe almonds just for the crunch but it was still good. I'd definitely come back just for that. I didn't order a full on entree but I did get dessert. The Crème Fraiche gelato to be exact. The olive oil drizzle sold me. While I don't think this is gelato, it was still good. To me, the texture gave regular vanilla ice cream. The olive oil gelato at Iberian pig is still number one in my book. We used Google…read moreMaps and didn't realize the restaurant is located right inside the High Museum of Art area. Parking around this area is always expensive and hectic, especially on weekends. The place definitely has an "old money" aesthetic with velvet seating, curtains, and white tablecloths. Their logo and menu are also very well designed. We made reservations in advance for a birthday dinner. Somehow, the receptionist took quite a while to find our reservation, and even after we were halfway inside, he stopped us again and asked us to wait while he double-checked. Aside from that small hiccup at the beginning, everything else was good. The highlight of my experience was definitely our server, Luke. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, super friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. She made sure I had a good birthday experience by offering to remake my mocktail when she noticed I didn't enjoy the honey syrup in it, even though I was too shy to ask for a change myself. We ordered: - Sourdough and Cornbread: not complimentary, this is a menu item by itself, and it tasted good. - Smoked oysters: The oysters were fresh with no shell fragments, and they tasted good. - Anchovies & sherry butter: The anchovies were a bit too salty and sour for my taste, and the bread was slightly soggy instead of toasty and crisp. This dish didn't suit my preference. If you've ever had Thai canned sardines in tomato sauce, the anchovies tasted similar, just without the tomato sauce. - Steelhead trout: The fish itself was good, but I wasn't a fan of the black-eyed pea sauce. The caviar was mixed in, so I couldn't really taste it either. This was my second time having steelhead trout, and it really looks a lot like salmon. - Roast chicken: A solid roast chicken, simple and well done. - Chocolate mousse: The mousse itself was good, but it had za'atar on top, which tasted like black pepper to me. It gave the chocolate a slightly strange flavor, not bad, just not our preference. If we had known beforehand, we probably wouldn't have ordered it. - Lemon tart: I liked the meringue, but the tart filling was a bit too sour for me. The flavor itself was good; I'm just not very used to strongly lemon-forward desserts. The savory food was good, but the desserts were a bit of a miss for us. Luke kindly offered to replace the dessert, but we were already planning to leave. Overall, it was a lovely experience. Highly recommended.

We tend to seek out Polish food when on vacation and were pleasantly surprised and will return when we return to the Helen area!

We never received our waters, food was served on paper plates, pierogi platter had only 3 real pierogi, the other 4 have a mushroom sauerkraut filling. The potato filling was lumpy and the pasta was undercooked. Won't be returning

I wholeheartedly wish I could give this place 10 stars! I discovered Piraye Kitchen because my…read morefiancée sent me a Facebook video of their massive meat pie. The second I saw it, I didn't care about the price -- I knew I wanted it, so I planned us a date night. When we arrived, there was a birthday party going on, and I asked the maître d' if they were limiting seating because of the event. He didn't quite understand me, so my fiancée just asked for a table for two, and we were seated quickly. The setup was nice, although I'm personally not a fan of pre-set plates and glasses on tables (you never know how long they've been sitting there). Still, our server was fantastic -- attentive, helpful, and made the night smooth. We came for the famous Piraye Kebab Tray. At first, we were looking at the $165 option (Chef Tray + 1 Meze Board + Shepherd Salad + 4 Orders of Piraye Kebab with rice, all baked inside the dough). When we mentioned the price, our server kindly told us about the smaller 2-order option for $85 -- perfect! And let me tell you, Lord above, when I say I would do some things to eat this food again... words cannot describe how incredible it was. It has been three days since, and I'm still thinking about it. I even posted it on my stories, and over 10 people have messaged me asking about it. Chef Tray: Overflowing with juicy, flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned rice with chickpeas (I swear it was made with veal stock), and that roasted pepper and cheese-stuffed dough on top -- divine. Meze Board: The hummus was creamy and rich, paired perfectly with fresh pita. Shepherd Salad: Fresh, crisp, and balanced. My only small regret was that our server misunderstood when we asked for the dough crust to-go -- I realized the next day it wasn't packed up. Honestly though, I couldn't even be upset, because the food was just that good. For drinks and dessert: Turkish Coffee - small but strong, beautifully presented with a piece of Turkish delight on the side that was everything I had ever imagined a Turkish sweet to be: chewy, fragrant, and delicately sweet. Künefe - a dream come true! A warm, crunchy pastry with gooey melted cheese inside, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios. It was rich, nutty, and sweet without being overwhelming -- the perfect ending. Turkish Martini - decent, but not nearly as memorable as the food. All together, including tip, it was about $140. For the amount and quality of food, the attentive service, and the one-of-a-kind experience, it was absolutely worth every single cent. Piraye Kitchen isn't just dinner -- it's an experience. This is a must-try-before-you-die type of place. Oh, and happy birthday, Amy!

Wait staff was extremely attentive and kind. My friend spilled some sauce on her dress and our waiter immediately offered some club soda to try and fix it. We had an endless supply of bread which was delicious and our entrees were even better! The restaurant is in a great location and there was plenty of room inside. Whether you're looking for a chill dinner or a fancy dinner this is the place!!
