I wish I could give this place with a fabulous menu more stars, but after two visits and being served undercooked, partially raw eggs both times and mediocre service at best prevents that. The place is always packed on Sunday, and it's super cute inside. The menu features local produce "when possible" and many healthier options. Unfortunately the execution from the kitchen is lacking. On the first visit, I ordered an egg dish without cheese. It came loaded with goat cheese. I sent it back. On the 2nd try, my over medium eggs were partially raw. On this second visit the order was right, and this time I thought I'd order an omelette to avoid the raw egg issue. Nope. The whites and yellows weren't properly beaten together, resulting in, once again undercooked egg whites. The fresh juices are delicious. The bread items - pancakes and French toast that my kids ordered were all ok, but nothing special. Too bad. We won't go back. read more

Our waitress was great, but all of our orders were wrong, and the food was not cooked correctly, and the coffee was burnt. Not sure if there's a new chef or management but it was very disappointing. First Watch is an aptly named cafe that serves breakfast and lunch only. Normally, this is a mistake for the Knoxville market, but they seem to have nailed it so well that it's working out for them. As I walked in, my first impression is that the place has a welcoming warmth that immediately put me in a good mood for a delicious breakfast. The atmosphere is open and friendly and the staff is cheerful and attentive without being invasive. The decor is what I would call "modern country kitchen". The menu has many choices ranging from eggs (many ways), pancakes, Belgium waffles, and several sandwich choices. For the first-timer, the menu has highlighted best-sellers to guide you to "national favorites". I opted for the Bacado omelette and boy, that was a good choice! The presentation was neat with the plate filled edge to edge. The omelette was PERFECTLY prepared and fully and properly stuffed from edge to edge with avocado, bacon, jack cheese, and served with a side of their homemade salsa which was fresh and mild; a perfect accouterment. The muffin was nicely toasted and the potatoes were tasty and well cooked, but I like them a little crispier, so if that's your thing, you may want to ask for them to cook them a little more. They also included a bit of strawberry jam (my favorite). The meal was delicious and filling, in fact, I couldn't finish. So you can expect to be satisfied if you have a good appetite. One of the stars of the meal was the coffee. It's a dark roast but doesn't taste burnt at all. It's definitely going to get you going. They have half and half, French vanilla, and hazelnut on the tables along with raw sugar. The food deserved nearly 5 stars but I still held back a star because I don't like the only open for breakfast business model. Breakfast for dinner is a thing in Knoxville and they would do well to capitalize on that and provide their delicious food to the night crowd. As it stands now though, I will definitely be back, with my family, and can recommend this place to anyone that wants a quality meal at a similar price to the national chain breakfast places. read more

So disappointing!!! In the past the First Watch on Lovell Road has been a good experience, today it was not. There were 7 of us and the food came out one person at a time and about 10 minutes apart. Nothing was prepared properly and several in our party had to have dishes sent back as they were inedible. read more

This was my first and last time! My sister recommended the chili chorizo omelette. When they both arrived mine was half the size of hers. Hers was LOADED with cheese and chorizo. Mine on the other hand had 1 teaspoon of chorizo and I found no cheese. I had pico de gallo and sour cream. My server never offered a beverage or asked. She also never brought Tobasco as requested. I literally had to get up to get it. After asking how the food was, I showed her my food compared to my sister's food. It was a HUGE difference. I was given a 50 percent discount. I had taken 2 bites. I literally paid over 5.00 for toast (the 2 stars is for the toast. It was amazing) why is it my fault your kitchen put out a crappy order? I have been managing restaurants fo 20 years. Some serious retraining needs to go on here. Inferior food and service is what puts you out of business! You get 1 shot to get it right the first time. Last week before driving north for a day hike, my son and I stopped by First Watch for breakfast. We didn't quite know what to expect, but we're certainly glad we stopped there for breakfast. The business is fairly new to this area, but every time I drive by, there seems to be a fair share of cars congregated around the end of the strip mall it anchors. We were greeted and seated immediately. The interior is open, bright and clean. The tables are hardwood and each customer who orders coffee, gets their own pot on the table. The menu is fairly extensive and is FILLED with healthy choices. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and nowhere did I see or find anything deep fat fried. (Kind of unusual for East Tennessee ;-)). The menu was so fresh and healthy that it reminded me of many a restaurant in the San Francisco Bay area from whence I hail. I had the Acapulco Express™, made with chorizo sausage, avocado, green chilies, and house-roasted onions with Cheddar and Monterey Jack. Topped with sour cream and served with a side of housemade salsa. I had fresh squeezed orange juice which was so very tasty. My son had the Chickichanga®, made with whipped eggs with spicy all-natural white-meat chicken, chorizo sausage, green chilies, Cheddar and Monterey Jack, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla. Topped with Vera Cruz sauce and sour cream. Served with fresh fruit and fresh, season potatoes. The plates are not excessively huge, but definitely enough to satisfy the palate. They are open every day from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, serving breakfast, brunch and lunch. They also have an intimate outdoor patio seating area that looks very inviting, weather permitting. read more

My wife and I both love this joint! We have been to several of these places in different parts of town. The atmosphere, and decor is different or each location. Let me also add, the food consistency is different as well. If you order something from this exact location and order the same from another location. It will be different. (Under the same name, that's a problem) We do order different things on the menu each time to see the consistency of each location which, they are different as stated above. The biggest problem I had with this location is that the food was not fresh, as I believe it was setting under the heating lamp for some time before they brought it out to me and my wife. The menus are exactly the same as you can see from my picture. We will continue to go to this restaurant we just would really appreciate the consistency as we know which ones to go to for certain menu items. read more

Been here before, pre-yelp. This location is consistent and serves up decent food. Breakfast was delightful today. Ordered the Elote Mexican street corn hash seasonal breakfast. When it came out i was disappointed the dish had a sauce covering the top. Turns out the sauce was not over-bearing and enhanced the dish. I was very happy with the breakfast. Ordered French toast to share. It was a bit dry but flavor was there. The shortcoming of the French toast was overshadowed by great service and my breakfast. Coffee was fresh and strong. Mycah was the server and she has a good sense of humor along with looks. Great service. Hope to have breakfast with her again. read more

This place never disappoints. Today I tried the seasonal item Barbacoa Benedict and it was amazing . The flavors worked so well together toast with Barbacoa, two eggs, avocado, and pico de gallo. The sauce has amazing flavor too. It comes salad greens topped with lemon juice, and the salad was very fresh and went well with the Benedict. Service as always was top notch. Omg! My aunt suggested to go to this place while we were in town for a girl's weekend. I loved it and wished we had this in Miami! The restaurant is a sit-down restaurant that has very modern, minimalistic decor. We were a party of 7 and sat at a high top near a window. They also have some outdoor seating on the patio with umbrellas. We went for breakfast and the options were endless! First off, the coffee was delicious! It was tasty and brewed perfectly. They also had a handful of options for sweetener that weren't the norm. I split the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon and a Belgian Waffle with my mom. Both were delicious, but woah, that waffle was insanely good! If I lived near a First Watch I would be going there frequently. If you live near one or are visiting and you stumble across one, go try it out! read more

Now it is 1259 and I'm still waiting for a table despite checking in at 1245 Update: we were seated right after this entry. But the couple next to my husband and I were seated at the same time. They came in after we checked in and were not on the mobile wait list. I've used this mobile check in before and it worked very well. I have to wonder if the staff understood how it works. read more

4.5 stars. Short version: I loved the variety in this menu, especially the healthier fixings. Everything was pretty good, although my eggs were overcooked, but I'm willing to give them another shot. We used the NoWait app for Sunday brunch, which worked like a charm, and we were seated about 5 minutes after we arrived. I got a veggie skillet with over-easy eggs and a side of sausage, and bf got a chickichanga. Bf was generally happy with his chickichanga but commented that there wasn't much sour cream. He concluded that for the sake of portion control, it wasn't a bad choice. I was so disappointed that my eggs were overcooked (they were over-hard by the time they got to me) because the runny yolk would have linked my skillet together perfectly. I'm sure they would have fixed it, but I was feeling peckish by the time our food arrived (that's to do with me, not the speed of service) so I made a judgment call to eat. Everything else was great, the veggies were cooked well and the whole-grain toast was delightful. Both bf and I had a hard time deciding on what we wanted because there were so many choices you can feel good about. (For me at least, that's a rarity.) I am looking forward to going back and giving some other menu items a try. read more

I looked forward to having breakfast at a place that prided itself on breakfast. I looked at the menu and honestly thought it a bit pretentious. I love omelettes so was excited when I saw The Works omelette, far less excited when I tasted it. It was over cooked to the point of been dry for what it cost it should have been stuffed full of good things, it was not. Most of what was in it tasted bad and then mix was not harmonious at all. The coffee was bitter even with twice as much cream as I usually use. I did enjoy the toast but that was it. I won't be back. I can go to any number of small places and get a much better breakfast for half the price. read more

I've been to the new First Watch in Farragut several times and each experience has been unique. It's odd, but Sunday afternoon when they are slammed is when they perform best. Early mornings during the week when the restaurant is slow is when I've had less than a five star experience. My first trip, I didn't get my water glass filled until I was 3/4 way done with ny meal. Not refilled, just filled for the first time. Additionally, I never did get the English muffin that came with my meal. Water was my only beverage. My most recent experience I ordered the Key West crepe eggs, something I've ordered before. The first time I ordered this meal, it came in the traditional crepe form. This time, it was just flopped over like an omelet. Overall the food is good, it would just be nice to have some consistency. read more

I absolutely love this place and wish they had one closer to my home. I've been to a First Watch in Wisconsin and had a great experience so when I saw on yelp that they had one in Knoxville - it made my day!! We had a breakfast meeting during my business trip to the area and First Watch was a perfect spot to spread out and work while having some delicious breakfast and coffee. The service was friendly and attentive too and the dining room is bright and cheerful. I really enjoy their omelettes and the fresh meusli with berries and other goodies is always a great choice. read more

Not the place to go if you are looking for standard breakfast fare...lots of interesting items on the menu. I had pancakes that were good. Hubby had an egg breakfast plate of some sort, I don't remember the exact items on his combo. The service the day we were there was not great, but I did point it out to the manager and she was receptive to my comments. I think this would be a fun place to go for a Girls Day out or brunch with friends. Probably wouldn't take out of town visitors there for breakfast, but we may try it for lunch someday. read more

Was in Knoxville for the day for work, and stumbled upon this First Watch to have lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised by every part of my experience. I was greeted very friendly by bright eyed employees, was immediately seated, and was able to order a drink as I sat even though the restaurant was pretty busy. I ordered a club sandwich and salad, which came out in good time, was fresh, flavorful and at what I consider a very good value. Very happy. First time here! The place is very nice and has a cafeteria fast dinning look to it. They have a very nice patio that I will be trying out next! The menu has good lower calorie heathy choices. I had coffee which was nice and fresh, egg white omelet with spinach, feta and turkey, tasty. One multi grain pancake with blue berries, the blue berries I did not like they whew too saggy , but the pancake itself was nice tasting. Then I had a kale Juice with other fruits, I think it was 3.99 which seem like a good prices but when it arrived it was about a 10oz glass filled with iced so not much juice. The juice was good. My brother had a turkey sandwich and a chocolate chip multi grain pancakes and that was much better. Overall the services was fast and friendly, nothing special but effective. read more
