We made the mistake of going on Mother's Day. What a seating nightmare. The hostesses couldn't figure out that you just get butts in the seats and don't worry about it being a perfect full table match. We waited 2.5 hours and then saw empty tables everywhere when we were finally seated. Geezz But the food was absolutely delish!! Stopped at First Watch on Parkside, a restaurant we hadn't visited in several years. I settled on a grilled ham and Gruyère sandwich that came with a side of greens dressed in a lemony balsamic vinaigrette. The toasted bread was spread with Dijon mustard and mayo and also filled with a slice of fresh tomato. Yum! The ever-so-delightful server named Matt talked me into a Coke Zero instead of Diet Coke. Since I prefer Pepsi, he said the Zero formula would taste more like the drink I prefer, and he was correct. So -- good service, good food. Had a wonderful time this morning. My friend and I loved our server Ellyanna! I tried the dish of the day: BlackBerry Lemon Creme French Toast, I added a mixed greens salad that had a lemon vinaigrette. (Didn't get a picture of the side bowl) The flavors of the French Toast all blended so well together, syrup wasn't even needed. The mixed greens was a great touch and I'm so glad I added that. My friend ordered an omelette that was similar to her favorite 'western' omelette', she had them take "The Works" omelette, omitted the mushrooms and added green peppers. Her side was hash brown style of potatoes. The dish was so large she took about half home with her. She also loved having a pot of coffee on the table so she always had hot coffee which is her favorite drink of choice. In closing.... Delicious! Many options and they do a good job of the basics too. We love the classic breakfast (I think that's what it's called).

Tried it again a few days later and this is still a solid experience that falls short on just a few food related things. We switched it up today and tried the Barbacoa burrito and power wrap alongside some of our standard options. Both wraps were lacking on seasoning. The food was pretty perfectly made but the flavor wasn't there and tortillas are too delicate to be unwrapping just to season your food and trying to reassemble. The staff was great as usual. We were a family of 6 today and got seated after 27 minutes on the waitlist. I will also say that the restrooms are small. There are only two stalls (a large spacious one and a teensy tiny one). My 3yo needed to go twice and the larger stall was full each time with someone taking a long potty break. We ended up in the small one. In order to get inside and close the door, I had to have her walk on the side of the toilet all the way to the back wall in order for me to step inside on the same side of the toilet and close the door behind us. To get out, we had to each stand on one side of the toilet because the door opens inward and swings about 1 inch from the toilet. It is impossibly tight in there. read more

Beware! We went to the Lovell Rd location. We put in our order quickly with our drink order. We waited over 40 minutes and still no food so we got up to leave. I spoke to the manager and all he said was "we're hiring" twice before I could say anything. When I told him how long we waited and still didn't get our food he just smirked and said have a nice day. He could care less. What a jerk! Poor customer service from the manager. We've been frequent visitors to this location, but no more. Just as I was leaving I told another employee he was a jerk and the employee agreed. I'll take my business elsewhere. Apparently, First Watch doesn't need it. read more

A rare Five Star for a First Watch, I usually penalize them one Star for making me take my check up to pay. However, this location, rather small, was normal food perfection, store is clean as a whistle but the service, a miss Kelsey, was dynamite. Although it is a cute atmosphere, and the menu is versatile/looks delicious, my son and I got a food poisoning from the eggs. Within one hour of eating there, we both got extremely sick. We had brunch here and the food was decent. I felt it was a little pricey for the quality of food. However, I will say the kids loved the pancakes and the husbands loved the French toast. My meal didn't really have any seasoning and the portion was good. My recommendation is to order the pancakes and French toast. After months of diligent work trying every item on the menu (even the seasonal menus); I have finally found something I do not like and I would not order again. I ordered a sunrise granola bowl with scrambled eggs to the side from DoorDash. First off, don't order First Watch through Door Dash. The poor packaging of the food ruins the beautifully aesthetic experience. Second off, it's interesting to me that they would choose such a sugary yogurt for a restaurant that typically has healthier options. That's the only reason I'm not fond of the Sunrise Granola Bowl... The granola is phenomenal. The warm blueberry muffin was scrumptious with all of the right texture pairs. You probably came here to read a negative review - I'm just here to tell everyone that I love this restaurant and all things on the menu, except for this specific yogurt. I absolutely love First Watch and I have yet to have a waiter or waitress that is not on top of their game. My girlfriend decided to treat me to birthday breakfast at one of my favourite restaurants. On our road trip to Kentucky, we stopped at this First Watch today and our experience simply awesome! As we approached the door, we were greeted and a server opened the door for us. We got in and we were seated and another server was over promptly to get our drink orders. I love their organic tea selections and that they brought over a pot of hot water for the table. We enjoyed our tea. For my breakfast meal, I had the Sunrise Granola Bowl. In this bowl, you have non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt layered with fresh, seasonal fruit, nuts and their house-made granola. It came with fresh baked muffin. I also had their Multrigrain Blueberry Pancakes. Do go with this, I also ordered the Golden Glow. In this drink, you have pineapple, turmeric, orange, coconut water and lemon. I ate well! My girlfriend went for the Smoked Salmon and Roasted Vegetable Frittata. In this meal, you are getting a classic frittata with Wild Alaska Smoked Sockeye Salmon, house-roasted shallots and tomatoes topped with Parmesan cheese, a chive cream drizzle and fresh herbs. Served with ciabatta toast. She choose Morning Meditation Fresh Juice to go with her meal. In the juice you are tasting orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet. There's no First Watch we have been to and been disappointed. We were pleased with the service we received. I had a First Watch voucher for buy one and get one free meal for my birthday. We were able up use the voucher without any issues. To those passing through, searching for a good place to have breakfast or brunch, I recommend First Watch. You won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. There was a little overcast, but there were still people sitting outside. Instead of waiting in the ridiculous line to get a table we opted to sit outside. Bad news that it seemed to drizzle a bit, but the good news was that the food was good! It filled our tummies and this spot made my list as a brunch spot. I've never heard of this place before, as it was new to me, however when I looked up on Yelp and saw their reviews, I decided why not. I ordered the works omelette. What I like about brunch is that you have so many types of options for brunches themselves. You can go to the buffet brunch, and get everything, or you can go o a smaller buffet with limited options and better quality food, or you could just get the brunch where you order your dish and it's small and manageable. You get up and don't feel that you just stuffed your face feeling like you got your money's worth. The works was well, filling. It wasn't anything amazing, but I do have to say that the omelette did have a good flavor. I mean, it is basically everything in an omelette you'll ever want. This place is the brunch where you order your dish and it's manageable, portion wise. The atmosphere is nice, as it's hectic during the time I went there which was a Sunday Brunch. I would suggest you to come here either earlier or later and miss the Sunday Brunch rush. I'm not sure because I've never tried, but possibly you could reserve your table and all will be well. Overall, I'm a fan. I'll definitely keep this place in mind if I want a brunch. 1st time eating here it was ok. I got the breakfast tacos with Chorizo, seasoned chicken, scrambled eggs and avocado. The flavor was good but they use corn tortillas, which the corn tortillas were falling apart tasted a little stale as soon as you picked one up all the fillings fell out. The grits were probably the best thing Update- The 1st experience wasn't so great so after I wrote the 1st review the manager of this location contacted me and voiced his concerns and ask me could I give them another try so he sent me a gift card, great customer service so on that alone we decided to go back. I'm glad we did go back I got the turkey sausage gravy and biscuits with scrambled eggs and grits and it was really good. Gravy had nice spice to it and the eggs were nice and fluffy! If the manager had not contacted me we probably would not had went back. We will definitely be back now business showed great customer service and I appreciate them contacting me and voicing there concerns says a lot about the company and the manager. We have eaten here several times and after yesterday experience we will not be going back. Food took forever to arrive at our table. Out of 4 person only 3 meals came out. My meal finally came but without the eggs, with a promise of the eggs coming soon. When they did arrive(several minutes later) they were runny and inedible. My wife's waffle was cold and her over medium eggs were more like hard boiled. The place was not that busy but someone needs to step up and take control of the kitchen staff. This meal sucked and was still quite expensive. You would do better going to a Waffle House. One star above is more than they deserve read more

If Cracker Barrel is red America enjoying grits, gravy and cinnamon peaches, then First Watch tastes like the breakfast of the coastal elites. You can't look far through the menu without hitting avocado and antioxidants. But look past the kale smoothies and you will find some real gems. The monthly(?) specials menu is always my place to start and it served me well today. A Carnitas Breakfast Burrito packed with beans, potatoes and eggs. (I asked for the avocado to be omitted.) Topped with some sweet pickled onions and a lime cream it looked great and tasted great too. I didn't notice at first, but a pleasant heat built by finish. The only problem was the experience was over all too quickly. Don't get me wrong, it was a good size, I just didn't want to stop tasting it. As a breakfast independent I know it won't be long before I'm back for pancakes with those cinnamon peaches, but today I'm glad I voted for the quinoa party. I like that there are seasonal menus and drinks. The summer drink is the Strawberry smash with fresh strawberries and lemon and basil. Fresh strawberries normally means actual pieces of strawberries in the drink, right? Nope. Just a red-pinkish drink with lemon taste and a basil leaf. I've had better service and experience here on other times but this time the coffee was late, the seater was unfriendly, and in the kitchen I watched a waitress in a red mask wipe a spill off the ground and place the wipe on the food prep counter in the kitchen area and then walk away. Once seated, waited almost an hour to get food. Noticed people seated after us got theirs before us. There was a table seated a half hour after us that ate and were long gone before my wife even finished her toast. Food wise, the eggs were lukewarm, and the bacon was so overdone I felt like a dog chewing on a rawhide. The toast was the highlight of the meal.
