Chorizo omelet was disappointing. Though it tasted fine it appeared to have little to no actual Chorizo in it. Topped with a eyedropper of sour cream. I guess I'm more of a realist when comes to reviews, unlike the other stellar reviews for this restaurant mine is based in reality. After eating and getting the bill we had to stand in line in the middle of the restaurant to pay. Along side people still eating. Very poor planning. It's a chain that try's to convince you they are hip, but it's really just an overpriced greasy spoon with better window dressing. read more

First visit today at 11:30 (Saturday) and we're told 30-45 min wait. Hostess takes your cell number to call. No place to sit except outside, where benches were full and folks sitting on the sidewalk. Since 2 tables outside were empty, but not yet cleaned off, we pulled those chairs aside to sit. 30 min later I checked my phone and discovered a text from 5 min earlier. We went inside (outside tables were still not cleaned off) waited another 5 min before getting a table, another 5+min before we saw a waitress. Once we got the food it was delicious. However we got 1 bottle of water for 3 of us, had to ask for additional glasses and never got water refilled. Apparently LOTS to learn by the staff, more staff needed and the hostess should stress they will text you, so you can keep your phone where you can hear a text chime. I enjoyed this right before heading on a long trip up north and can say that I have never had breakfast this delicious before. My boyfriend and I were in Lakeland for the week and decided to stop by since we had heard many great things about First Watch. He got the summer crab omelette and I got the cornbread carnitas bowl. We also got a chocolate chip pancake that we only took a tiny piece from because we were full and satisfied with our meal. The food was cooked fresh and was amazing. Went for Sunday breakfast. Service was fast and polite. The restaurant itself is open and very noisy. Food quality was good and as asked. The more people that arrived (and it was full by 10am) the noise was louder and people felt the need to talk louder because of the interior acoustics. my husband and I and my two girls were heading from Orlando to Venice and we were looking for a breakfast place. This place is right off Route 4 and did not disappoint. since my kids are 10 years old they asked if they wanted to eat from the adult menu at the kids menu they chose the kids menu and the kids meals were just as big as the adult meals. The menu had many choices. I had the eggs benedict my husband had a breakfast skillet one of my children had the crepe and the other had a chocolate chip pancake. We all shared the bacon appetizer and we fighting over the four large strips of bacon cooked perfectly drizzled with maple syrup. I like poached eggs and eggs over easy and every time I go to a breakfast restaurant it's hard to have the eggs cooked perfectly and here they were cooked perfectly. all four of us loved our meals and we would go back if we were in the area again! read more

So this is not my first visit to a First Watch, and today I was by myself when I stopped in. Was greeted and sitting at a table facing the kitchen. Sitting near the kitchen is a great opportunity to hear what's "really good big on" in a restaurant. Several times, I heard servers saying how nice their guests were. My server was a young lady named Melissa. She suggested a Pomegranate Mule from their unique juice menu as another server poured me a piping hot coffee. She was back at my table with the juice (made with lime, pomegranate nectar, ginger and soda) in what seemed like 2 minutes; very quick. The juice was so delicious that I told her to pick her favorite menu item for me to eat (I am not a picky eater and love trying what other people like). She chose the roast beef and havarti sandwich with a cup of tomato basil soup; perfect for the rainy day. I have to say that everything was perfect; soup hot, whole-wheat grain bread lightly toasted and sandwich dressings crisp and delicious. I was so relaxed and enjoying myself when I finished my lunch; it was hard to believe only 30 minutes had passed since I was seated......perfect timing and back to work on time. I used to love coming here but NEVER AGAIN!! Food was OK.... when we finally got it. Service was slow, and food was definitely not worth the price. I always order the million dollar bacon because we LOVE it. Today, it was like regular bacon, nothing special....and again, not worth the price. Coffee is burnt, even after asking for a second container. The biggest issue was the cook SCREAMING from the kitchen. I know the restaurant is usually loud, but this was ridiculous. Love this place! I was so excited to see First Watch was coming to Lakeland - and I think this restaurant may be better than some of the ones I've been to in Tampa! The atmosphere is rustic and comfortable and the food is delicious. We had the Market Hash and the Hacienda Hash - both excellent. Their seasoned potatoes are perfect. We have been to First Watch twice now & continue to patronize the café. Food is fresh and healthy options. There is an average 30-45 min. wait on Sundays. During the week we only had to wait 5 min at around 1p.m. The traditional breakfast very good. The salads are also excellent. Such a nice addition to N Lakeland! Thanks for being here! After the eggs were cooked a second time I was informed that my definition of this was all wrong, and the fault was all mine. The third try was yet another fail. The server never bothered to check to see it they got it right after that. I guess she just gave up. Shouldn't a manager have appeared to see how they could fix this? Nothing. Normally, the cashier checks to make sure that everything was enjoyed. Nothing. The prices are not cheap. I can't really think of a reason I should return.
