I've been there 3 times now and tried 3 different things all were good. We like to go and have a leisurely brunch & coffee which seems like what most people are doing. However your staff, every person I've encountered seems to hate their job. Grumpy unhappy waitstaff does not make for a pleasant brunch. Just because you leave me a pot of coffee doesn't mean you never have to come by again and don't look so put out when I ask you for an extra napkin....I saw one person finally get up go behind the bar and get it herself. The food here is amazing. Literally everything on the menu is good. We go every weekend. Cute atmosphere too. Clean. Friendly! The reason for the 3 stars is because the time to get the food out is too long. It takes 25 to 30 minutes. Every time.... no matter what we order.... no matter what time of morning we go. The food was good and the hostess who seated us was great and pleasant. However, when we were sat down our server Madisen seemed to have a bad attitude. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or what but the energy she had seemed as though she didn't want to be there. After this it seemed to take forever to receive our food. I asked our server what our ETA was on our meal and she said there was still one ticket in front of ours and then ours would be up. Mind you, we had been seated for about an hour at this point, and people who had been seated after us had already received their food. I moved to the Frisco area about a month ago and this has been my go to breakfast place given the proximity to my new home, even though I've tried other local breakfast joints. Given that I moved during the holidays and my unpacking of kitchen stuff has been slow, I have eaten here at least every other day for a month or two now. I have had almost every server wait on me by this point, including Courtney and Michael who know me by name. They are always very nice and even know my dog (who patiently waits in the car while I dine) and they provide a little to go order of bacon for him when they see me. This is not something I even have to ask for anymore, they just know and do it because they get to know their customers. Today I made a point of telling Matt (the manager on duty) of how good of an experience I have had dining here and how accommodating the wait staff is. If anyone deserves your business right now during the pandemic this location is by far one of the best customer service oriented places to eat in Dallas, as well as having delicious food. We ordered curbside service and added a tip. Sadly we waited 10 minutes and no one came out even though our car description as well as curbside was on the bag. A disappointing experience very different from the ones we've had here in the past. The table was sticky with oil stains, clearly not wiped down, the utensils were dirty, and there were strange fingerprints/stains on the glasses. Waitress was very nice, but overloaded with tables as it was completely full, and food took 20+ minutes. Hope that First Watch can bring itself back up to what it was pre-pandemic! read more

Walked in at 1:50. Stood in the front for a few minutes. An employee eventually walked up and asked if they could help me. I told the employee I needed a table for 1. The employee looked annoyed and sat me at the nearest table. I then sat for over 5 minutes. At least 5 different employees walked by. Not a word. This is my second time to dine at First Watch. We got on the wait list for 2 people and was told it would be 20-25 min wait. After 25 min i went inside and as i was going to ask how much longer they sat a party of 2 that got there less then 10 min before. We got sat after that and we ordered and waited 45 min for our food. I saw that two table that got sat next to us after we ordered got there food. I asked the server what was going on and she said that the kitchen was backed up and our food would be right out. We waited about 10 more and she brought our food out. I told the server that the manager should have come out and said something about the wait for the food and at the least should have been making table touches and talking to the guests. She said she would go talk with him. She came back not the manager and gave us a $20 brunch bucks and we told her that my wifes food was cold and the bread on the blt hollandaise was rock hard. She came back and said that they took her food off the check. The manager still never came to talk to us. I went and paid and gave the brunch bucks and was not asked how everything was or was told if i get the remaining balance or anything. I will not ever dine at this location again. read more

Tried the new McKinney location since it's so close to our residence. Went on a Thursday mid morning, not crowded and seated immediately. After that, it all went downhill! Seated in a booth next to several women and could hardly carry on a conversation from their noise, sat for 10 minutes and was never addressed. NOTHING, not a water or coffee offered! Even if had been busy you would think that management would make sure you were served a drink while waiting to take orders, especially since it's basically a breakfast place. So we got up and left, went to our favorite breakfast place in McKinney and more than likely won't ever try again. First impressions are lasting impressions! read more

My family and I went to try Frost Watch on a Wednesday and were extremely disappointed with the food quality. To start, we were accidentally seated at another table even though we had been told to wait for another table to finish and be cleared so we could sit there. Understandable! Mix ups happen. Our server was very sweet and polite and recommended a few items. The food took over 40 minutes to come out and when it finally did, it was cold and undercooked as well as unseasoned. We sent two plates back to be fixed and received better quality sides the second go around. Our pancakes were missing berries and also came out cold 10 minutes after we had received our other entrees. I had gotten in contact with the district manager and was told to email and call, but never heard anything back. Would possibly come back if the food quality was improved. First Watch - McKinney South came back to this location today. Waited 50 min for my to go order. Instead of putting my NAME on my order they put half of my email address!! When I asked about my food they said it was still in the kitchen. Another woman came out to verify my location was correct ( it was) my order suddenly appears. As I'm walking out, I heard the woman make a comment to the other... maybe you might want to check your email address next time. Mind you she said this in front of a packed waiting area. Thought we'd see what all the fuss is about " First Watch " The wait was suppose to be 35-40 min and yes we were seated in about 20-25 min. The coffee and water while we were waiting was a nice touch ! Here's the BUT should have been a warning when the Manager came out to clean up the Coffee and water area , tossed a stirrer toward the small trash can , saw he missed it and did NOT pick it up nor the other trash lying around. So , now we are seated and our waitress Alondra was very efficient! We ordered right away. So here's where the 35 min wait startedan apology was made for the time taken to get our food. The restaurant was full and only 4 tables had food . So, now I go to the restroom because we all know food comes to the table when you go to the restroom. Let me describe the restroom --NO toilet paper on the rolls, seat is broken , counter is filthy and trash can is full I get back to the table our food has arrived --well at least part . My eggs were not with my meal --they said they were over cooked. My husband sent his entire meal back --COLD. All the while our waitress was really pleasant . My kids took me to First Watch for the first time on Father's Day! Based on our visit, I would avoid this place without question. You are better off making your eggs at home ! The experience ruined our Father's day celebration! First, the staff was very rude and unwilling to offer any level of good customer service. Second, although it was a busy day generally, more than 10 tables were unoccupied when we ordered our food, so they weren't overwhelmed. After we ordered very simple breakfast dishes, it took more than 45 minutes to get our food. Then, the potatoes were undercooked and inedible, the bacon was overcooked to the point of being black and tasted only burnt, not like bacon. A majority of the other dishes were served lukewarm to cold. When I raised this to the server, she simply said they had a new employee washing dishes, so they were backed up. Really? The new dishwasher was causing the food to be cooked improperly and served cold?? She never came by the table to explain or apologize regarding the delay. When the food was served, she basically threw the plates on the table and never came back again to check on us. I have heard some negative stories about First Watch, now I know how true they are ! read more

We stoped in on a Sunday around 11am, expecting a wait. Were told our wait was 15 mins for 3 and a child and ended up waiting about 30 mins... totally ok as our child played the entire time working up an appetite. The restaurant is super cute.. a great atmosphere. Service though was terrible!! After sitting for about another 15 mins our server arrived at our table ready to take out order. We had not yet even received drinks. We had a very simple (different bread on a sandwich) modification on one of our 3 orders and she had to take our menu, read through descriptions and took about 5 mins writing and trying to understand the modification. She left our table and about 5-10 mins went by and we did had no drinks and had to ask for them. She seemed very distracted and sometimes seemed to just be wondering around doing no task at all on a busy morning. We finally received our food and it was all very good, but never saw our server again once we got our food. Someone else dropped off our bill and that was it. Overall super cute place and great food. Now if only management could weed through their very sub par servers. read more

My wife and I have been to many First Watch restaurants, Phoenix, Scottsdale, St Louis, to name a few. She was very excited to take her friends there today for lunch but, unfortunately she was greatly disappointed in #1 the food. They ordered chili and some other types of soup and there was hardly anything in any of them except broth. I asked here, why didn't you send it back? Unfortunately, she is not the kind of person that does that, no matter what. Another issue with this place is the NOISE LEVEL. If you want to eat at this place and have a conversation, you will have to shout at each other. She said the ceiling was all metal and had zero insulation and or sound deadening material. None of the other First Watch's we've been to had this problem. I hope the new one going in on 380 and Hardin address this issue before they open or me and many of my friends will not be eating there. This place was horrible. I took my 2 kids with me for breakfast and I had to wait a very long time. There were tables open outside and my daughter asked if we could sit outside and the hostess said only after she asked other people if they wanted to sit outside first. That was redicolous. Then we waited for another 15 minutes before finally getting seated. But before that, I asked how long is the wait and they told me they already seated us. We did not see any waiter/waitress for another 15 to 20 minutes when the hostess came and told us that we had to move because the seat we were given was reserved. We then waited another 15 to 20 minutes before a waitress came to see us. We had 2 waters and one silverware. When the drinks came 20 minutes later, I had a fruit fly in my orange juice. I went to the hostess who took the orange juice back and gave me another one and saying, "I won't charge you for this one." When the food finally came, " after 2 hours of waiting, my son and my daughter got their food and I still had to wait for mine. Did I say we only had one set of silverware? Well we did, and I had to go and ask for two more set. Our food came out cold and it was horrible. We didn't see our wait until the end when she gave me the check and said I can pay upfront. While paying, I spoke with the manager and the only thing he had to say was, "I hope next time would be better." I would not go there anymore. First time customer at First Watch at Custer and El Dorado in Mckinney. We arrived about 7:20am Sunday and it was not busy yet. When we passed this place the day before on Saturday around 9am the wait was outside the doors. Great variety on breakfast. The food was amazing and super fresh. Fresh fruit, muffins, oatmeal, juice. I had a hash with 2 eggs over easy on top of the hash and it was incredible. Might I suggest splurging and getting what they call the Million Dollar Bacon. Who would have thought you could make bacon better? This place has figured it out. It's 4 large pieces of bacon that has a pinch of cayenne and black pepper, brown sugar and maple syrup on it and then they bake it. It has a faint hint of (spicy) heat from the cayenne and black pepper but its not bad. My wife hates spicy stuff and she loved this bacon. Its the best bacon I have had in my life. Treat yourself to this. Its well worth eating here to have a great breakfast. Just a heads up that if you go to their website and give them your email they will send you a buy one get one meal coupon. It got us a free meal. If you are tight on money and are looking for a cheap breakfast then this is probably not the place. It can get pricey quick. Hope you enjoy. We will definitely be back. read more
