Poor in-house dining experience. I understand the need to meet the demands of the to-go orders and delivery services, but it shouldn't be done at the expense of your dine-in customers. For every plate we saw delivered to a table, there were what seemed like 7-8 to go or delivery orders. Waited 20 mins for a table, and over 45 mins for our food...which appeared to be the norm, not the exception. When the food did arrive, only our eggs were hot, the pancakes and bacon were cold. Needless to say, our brunch was a huge disappointment. Will we be back? No, not as dine-in customers. Need to correct the business model. read more

Where to start on this one. The place looks upscale and fresh. That is where all of the great parts end. We went in for breakfast and there was just two of us. My wife ordered avocado toast and I had the flavor of Italy(sausage and mozzarella cheese omelet). When my wife's toast came out, the avocados were bad. I thought that maybe it was something that was mixed in, but in cutting them, it was clear that they were bad. I am not sure how the kitchen missed it because it was 90% of them. It seemed kind of odd to me because the restaurant is pushing a freshness vibe, but they clearly were not fresh. We let the waitress know about the issue and she asked what she could do. We simply asked for replacement toast with just butter on it. That took longer than what I would expect simple toast to come out (5-10 mins because I finished eating) for a person who has an issue with the plate that was served. The kitchen staff was standing around and talking so I am not sure what the disconnect was but I think our waitress forgot to bring it to us as someone else did. On my dish, it was just OK. The sausage was good, but there wasn't much mozzarella to be found. I had asked for potatoes instead of a salad and they were well, well done. They weren't very flavorful, but the dish came with a strawberry jelly that was good. One of the disappointing parts was my dish came with toast, but I didn't know you had a choice of bread types and I would have made a different choice. The last point was that the coffee just didn't taste right. We had to add a bunch of flavoring to it to make it even drinkable. When we got the check there was nothing that was taken off due to the issue and the bill was rather pricey for what we had (about 15/person). The overall service quality was lacking and slow. In summary, there are a ton of places to go, this is one that you should avoid for breakfast. There are much better options out there. read more

Love FW. Haven't had a bad meal there. Portions are big and i usually can't finish it. Skillet breakfasts are fantastic and nice to be able to get mimosas as many breakfast places don't serve alcohol. Service isn't that great though...wait staff is very nice but very slow. I had an issue with an order about a month ago, my order came out wrong and the manager at the time was apologetic about it. I didn't have time to wait for a new order so to make things right she told me my next order was on them, just ask for any manager and let them know. Well I did that today and the manager that was in this day didn't want to honor it even after I explained the scenario and he then proceeded to be asshole about it before finally giving me the food. Super cute place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Even though it's located in a strip mall, it has a very comfortable, local vibe. We split the special, which was a brisket eggs Benedict, and it was incredible! There is also a cute bar, would be a great place for a date or to sit and work. Will be back soon! read more

I am very disappointed. We go to the Plano location regularly. Our waitress changes locations so we drove across town for her. We told the hostess and waited an extra 10 minutes to not be sat in the right section. Instead of moving We decided to give the girl a chance. Well that was where the disaster started. The girl barely came by out table. But the worst part is I placed my order and it came out wrong. I told the person that brought it out and she took it back. It came back out pretty fast for a special order. They had scrapped off the sour cream and flipped the omelet over and sent it back out. That is the worst thing a cook can do and an expo can let happen. What if I'm allergic? I could have had a bad allergic reaction. Such a shame that one of our favorite restaurants changed their corporate policy that will no longer allow freedom of breathing fresh air, especially for those with disabilities like myself. We frequented the establishment the entire time the mandate was in place, never having an issue. Even yesterday we had lunch there, not being the only unmasked patrons either. Today, for the first time in over a year, I was told I could not enter unmasked. Astonishing as well as unfortunate, because my freedoms are far more important than spending my hard earned money in an establishment that is ok with taking away my rights (ADA). Especially when the mandate has been lifted and the "magic bubble at your table" theory has been busted. We could have been offered outdoor seating, instead we were shunned. Duly noted. ------ To respond to the reply below. There was no attempt to "make right" the experience. You took the opportunity to handle the employees with a reprimand for not following corporate policy. Shameful. Yes, your employees come into contact with multitudes of people every day. The dishes they handle should be far more of a concern than if I wear a mask 4 ft to sit at a table. You cannot escape microbes. Your employees could have done a better job with handling the situation. I know we were recognized, because of the frequency in which we visit. Had we been asked if we minded sitting outside (because apparently someone was all of the sudden offended) maybe my viewpoint would be slightly different. Instead, we were denied service. Went to this restaurant for time and was very disappointed. Showed up and was told only 15 minutes for wait and we waited for 45 minutes. Once we finally got seated our waiter was beyond rude and had attitude. He only took drink order for two of our 4 person party. My wife and I went to this place right after closing on our property as a celebration. We have been to most of the brunch places in the area and I think this has got to be the best so far. We went there just before noon on a Thursday and it was fairly full but we got in within five minutes. We ordered Fritata omelettes and Benedict's style eggs. As a starter my wife had a bloody Mary there which was absolutely delicious. The "Million Dollar" bacon was great as well. The meal was well presented, fresh and tasty. Have been to several First Watch restaurants and this is the first one that I have to say was a total disappointment. Arrived and was told it was a 20-30 minute wait (Sunday morning). While waiting noticed people being seated that had come in way after us. We were never asked if we were interested in outdoor seating or bar seating ( just 2 of us). When we finally were seated, inside, and our order taken we noticed empty tables that needed to be bused, confused wait staff as to which were their tables and from my vantage point , kitchen staff having trouble getting orders out. My husband ordered the Healthy breakfast and I ordered the Tri Fecta breakfast. His order was good but the pancake that came with my order was on the verge of burnt. We won't be returning to this First Watch in McKinney! read more

We went from my work for our lunch HOUR. We sat for 45 minutes waiting on our food. One of the orders had a hair in it and had to be redone. There was never any communication from the servers at all. When we asked what was taking so long, the server just said "I have no idea." This was totally unacceptable. I seen a few things on the menu I would like to try, but with service like this on my first visit, I wont be back. read more

We had breakfast today at the First Watch and with every past breakfast it was great. What made this meal even move memorable was our interaction with our waitress, Kortney. She not only made sure that we had everything and that it was okay, but she took the time to get to know us. We came back to Texas several years ago from California, and it has been an extremely difficult time, with the death of my wife's baby sister and then the virus. We have been very isolated, so the kindness shown by Kortney was very much appreciated and really lifted our spirits. We will definitely return to the First Watch in Mckinney and hopefully will have Kortney as our waitress, because even though we have had good service in this place, she went over and above. Came in for Sunday Brunch with my mother, sisters and daughter, our first visit. There was a 10-15 minute wait, we asked to be seated outside. We were seated on the patio among 3 other tables. All the other tables had 3-5 people as did our party, all were greeted and served in a manner of minutes. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes, never greeted, asked another server who would be our sever and she stated that she would find out. Still no one came, my mother went inside and spoke to the hostess and she stated she would get someone. At that moment it was time to leave. My mother spoke to the Manager Matt, he gave $60 in gift card. Thank you Matt but that doesn't compensate for the lack of service. Been to this location a few times now, and have had a good experience each time, with only a few hiccups. Wait is usually fast-to-no-wait for 2 people and we normally order breakfast. Each time the wait staff has been polite and prompt (although some of the staff seems a little nervous to talk or unsure of how to wait on people) and our orders have been accurate (hot food was hot, cold food was cold) with only one missed juice (they have great juices!) but they brought it out right away once we told them it was forgotten (hmm, maybe should've comped that??). The atmosphere in the restaurant is casual and chatty, and there is a counter dining option as well. It's a great local place for breakfast/brunch, and I'm excited to try their salads and sandwiches as well the next time I go. Parking can be a bit crowded (parking lot) but it's a shopping strip mall so there's usually parking a bit further down from the establishment. read more
