The waiter was quick to take our orders & the drinks came relatively fast. But 40 minutes after the drinks were served, we still didn't have ANY of our food. I finally got the waiter's attention & asked him to please check on our order & what do you know, 3 minutes later our food was served. I know waiters can't usually control how quickly the food comes out, but I felt like our waiter forgot about us. Who knows how long we would have waited had I not gotten his attention. I was in Raleigh for a couple of days, and before my buddy, Neal, and I hit the road to return home we decided on some brunch. Neal checked out First Watch before and recommended it. I had to check it out. This spot is interesting because they use local produce and ingredients. And they are purportedly a healthier option, so this should be a win-win choice. And after my experience I'd wholly agree - I enjoyed every aspect of my visit. First off, service is good. We were greeted immediately upon entering, and since it was a weekday seating was readily available. Our host was also our server and she sat us and then took our drink orders. Those who want water will be treated to a pint container of water and a small glass. It lends itself to a family breakfast feel. Neal ordered a scramble while I got an omelette. Mine, called The Works, included ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, cheddar and Monterey Jack. It was topped off with sour cream and came with a side of hah browns and toast. It was delicious while Neal was very happy with his dish. So it's safe to say the food was awesome. First Watch clicked both in service and food quality. I stopped in for a late breakfast and decided on the Florentine Eggs Benedict. The base was perfectly crisped ciabatta bread. The spinach and tomatoes tasted fresh. Their version also came topped with more than enough avocado. The hollandaise sauce was very tasty with a good consistency. I personally like my poached eggs to be runny which these were not, but still very well prepared. I've always enjoyed my meal at First Watch. It's a popular chain that tends to get pretty packed, at least on weekends. They do the following things right. I ordered coffee and they brought me the pot, condiments already on table. Hubby asked for water and they brought out a carafe. All breakfast places should follow this easy, no brainer setup. Takes stress off the servers and makes for happy customers. I ordered the farmhouse skillet which is customizable. 2 cage free eggs, any style with avocado, tomatoes and onions on top of seasoned potatoes. Got mine minus the bacon. Our granddaughter got the kids waffle with bacon. Menu says it is half waffle, plenty big enough for almost 4 year old. Ambiance is a bit crowded and as we were seated by the kitchen, it was a bit hectic, but service was great and food came out pretty quickly. I have been here to @First_Watch a couple of times so far. If you haven't been here before, the food is ... different, I should say. It is not your typical Waffle House, IHOP, or Denny's menu. It is the all healthy, whole food, all natural, good for you, not processed, no extra sugar food. So if you are looking for something southern and sugar full, then you are at the wrong place. The first time I was here, it was good, and the service was decent. I would say the chairs are not all the comfortable to sit on with the hard flat wood bottoms. The first time I was there I had the Tri-Fecta breakfast with the multigrain pancakes. They were decent, and required a bit extra syrup for my taste. I didn't like how the potatoes were cooked up. The second time I was there I ordered the Pharma Skillet Hash. The potatoes were better tasting this time around. On the second visit the table was set with a "clean" coffee mug and water glasses. I noticed the visible red lipstick on the "clean" mug, so I gave it to the server. After looking at the water glasses, I just asked for paper cups, and the server brought us water in styrofoam cups. That was fine with me. On the first visit the server was more attentive than the second visit, but it wasn't bad overall. #420 read more

We were seated promptly and offered drinks immediately. Coffee for Husband. Hot tea for me, and SCORE, organic teas! The menu is pretty large, with even more recent offerings as well. I was enticed by the new BLT Benedict. Husband went with The Works Omelet. We were seated near the kitchen, which I enjoyed, as it was cool to witness their hard work and proficiency. (preparing breakfast for huge quantities with varying tastes on a Sunday cannot be easy!) They seemed to have it down to an impressive science. Very commendable. Soon our meals arrived, with my Benedict looking more like a salad. It was covered in green, and I loved that! The tangy greens helped offset the richness of the perfectly cooked benedict with perfectly poached eggs, tomato, crispy tasty bacon and an excellent ciabatta. Rates right up there with the best benedicts I've ever had. Meanwhile Husband commented that his English Muffin was of very good quality. He did say that his omelet was slightly overcooked on the outside, while the middle was a tad under. And his potatoes were a bit undercooked as well. None of that stopped him from scarfing it all down. Note: pay on the way out. We found it best to wait for the line to die down before getting up and facing it. We went on a Saturday morning around 10am and it was pretty packed, but we were seated very quickly regardless. Our waitress was also quick to attend to us and very friendly. She offered plenty of advice as to what to order. The atmosphere was busy but not loud. We ordered ice coffee, sweet tea, and two chickichangas. The chickichanga was DELISH. Not spicy at all as advertised but there's plenty of hot sauce should you wish to change that. The potatoes were soft and yummy. And the fruit that came with it was really fresh. All in all, I for sure recommend this location. The only caveat is that they don't serve alcohol, which to me is an essential part of any brunch experience ;) read more

I've ordered from First Watch twice. The first time was a few weeks ago. I ordered through Uber Eats and the whole order was wrong. I ordered the Farmhouse Hash, but received the Parma Hash instead. I was super hungry so I ate it. It was good, but not what I ordered. Today, I placed a To Go order online for pickup. It said it would be ready at 12:28 so I went to pick it up because I had to be back at work by 1pm. When I walked into First Watch, I waited for 10 minutes before anyone walked to the register. Another customer walked in and a waitress immediately walked to them and asked if they could help him even though I had been waiting. I then looked at her and asked if someone could help me since it was obvious that she deliberately ignored me. She asked my name and said my order was not ready. Another 15 minutes goes by and another guy asked if I had been helped. I told him the situation and he said he would check on it. He came back to the front with my food and said it had just been sitting there. Needless to say, I will never go back. read more
