We came here for breakfast, and despite it being around 11 on a Sunday, we were able to be seated pretty soon. I got the omelette, and we did a table blueberry pancake (only 1 because they really are huge). That was delicious. I enjoyed my omelette too, but I prefer more generous portions for my sides when it comes to breakfast. The greens were a bit bare. FYI that you pay at the register. I recently visited First Watch and had a mixed but overall solid experience. When I first walked in, I had to wait about one to two minutes before being greeted. It may not sound like a long time, but when no one is at the front acknowledging guests, it can feel longer than it actually is. Front presence matters. Once I was greeted and seated, the experience improved significantly. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and made great menu recommendations. The service felt attentive without being overwhelming. One small downside was the drink selection. It felt somewhat limited, so I ended up ordering sweet tea which is one of my favorites but it wasn't quite as sweet as I would have liked. Food delivery was quick, and the food itself was good. The server checked in consistently throughout the meal. Interestingly, the exit experience felt warmer than the arrival. Leaving felt more welcoming than walking in, which shows the team has strong service potential just not consistent at the entry point. As someone who previously worked at First Watch (not this location) they were doing things all crazy this day. Got a Green Kale Smoothie (what is it called?) and it was severely watered down. They brought cold syrup to the table... it's supposed to be warm. We were sat outside on a lovely day, so enjoyed that a lot compared to the busy inside. I tried the Smoked Salmon Frittata and enjoyed it a lot! There were nice chucks of salmon in the Frittata, the complement of vegetables added a nice touch to the meal! Definitely a filling and savory dish for breakfast! Million dollar bacon is always a go to for me although 4 pieces of bacon is absolutely a solo expedition and not a shareable if you are greedy like me. If you are looking for an appetizer I 1000% recommend it! For a taste of their seasonal menu I got the Blueberry Lemon Cornbread which wasn't anything that blew me out of the waters despite my love for cornbread. The way the lemon toppings is distributed into the blueberry cornbread is just not proportionate although you can add points for the size! Justin was our server, who was very helpful and had an excellent attitude. He reviewed a number of options and possible substitutions to make a meal that we would enjoy. He even was able to address some health constraints. On an unrelated note, we ordered a cup of tea and were pleasantly surprised by the larger carafe provided; usually you get a small metal pitcher that isn't any bigger than the cup. This was my 2nd time trying First Watch, the first time was during a trip to Tampa. I didn't love the food or the coffee, but it wasn't bad. It was just okay. We have a location in Charlotte that I haven't been to yet also. So, I was happy to check out another location in a different state to be able to kind of compare them all one day. This location was huge and packed on a Sunday morning, which is expected. We had a large group of about 8 people and only waited maybe 20 mins for a table. For this place to be so big and so busy their staff was on it! They were professional, fast and kind. I was very pleased with the service and how quickly and smooth everything went. I ordered the pumpkin pancakes and they were amazing!!! Perfectly cooked and they paired beautifully with their chicken sausage and over medium eggs. YUM! This was a nice brunch visit and it made me want to check out the location we have in Charlotte. read more

First Watch is always a solid bet for a nice brunch, even if it does come at a cost. Came here recently with my girlfriend so she could use a coupon she received for her birthday and was able to dine outside on a beautiful day. Our server was very polite and we didn't wait long at all for our food. We both got the fall specials and I really enjoyed the pumpkin pancake with sausage and eggs, nice way to start a Saturday and commemorate the changing of the seasons. This would normally have added up quite a bit though the coupon did make this better, or would have if it had worked properly; thankfully the manager sorted it out for us but this was yet another case of technology being a burden rather than a benefit. I will definitely return again when the craving for an elegant brunch strikes again! For my side I opted for their black beans instead of the salad and unfortunately the beans were luke warm and had no flavor to them; they were boring. The coffee was great though! My husband and I visited the Willow Lawn location in Richmond, VA. When we arrived we were told that there would a 20 to 30 minute wait time and we would receive a text. After waiting more than 30 minutes we visited the hostess stand to inquire about the wait time, she couldn't go find our name or number but seated us at that time. Needless to say our dining experience was less than pleasurable. We placed our orders, however when the food arrived at our table it was VERY DISAPPOINTING. My husband ordered the breakfast platter with soft scrambled eggs. That is not what he was served, the eggs resembled a rubbery yellow disc, there were about 15 pieces of potatoes that looked like they were literally just thrown on the plate, the toast was cold and slathered with heavy butter. I ordered a half of turkey sandwich with the soup of the day which was supposedly vegetable soup. It was clumpy,dry and thick like a bowl of chilli. When the waitress returned to our table see if everything was OK, when she saw the soup she exclaimed "what the heck is that?" I told her that I am not eating it. She offered to replace it with a cup of fruit which I declined. The presentation if the food was awful. The portion of potatoes were unbelievable. I got the upgraded egg sandwich but requested gluten free toast instead of the brioche and also parmesan cheese instead of Monterey due to my intolerances. Also I got tea which pleasantly came in a carafe. Justin, our server, was smiling the whole time I made these special requests knowing that I was not making his job more difficult, but rather because of medical reasons. This is my local First Watch, a quick 3-minute drive from my apartment. I first tried to visit a year ago, but the floors were sticky and filthy and no one stopped by our table within a reasonable period, so we left and opted for a local spot instead. On a recent visit, a friend from out of town said he wanted to stop here, so off we went for breakfast. This time around was a totally different experience. Our server (I think his name was Justin? or Alex? one of the two) was super, super pleasant, like....I-want-what-he's-having pleasant. He was on the ball, very caring, and was all about the guest experience. Give him a raise. I ordered the coffee with free refills and my friend had the Morning Juice. Both were tasty. Going to try very hard not to curse in this review (because I don't think I'm allowed to), but the flavor party my meal here incited in my mouth is joyously profane and I'm upset there's not a location in NYC. Firstly, the Purple Haze. Get the Purple Haze. There is nothing bad to say about the Purple Haze. Deliciously refreshing, sweet, florally nourishing to my soul, and so PRETTY. Lemon, cane sugar, butterfly pea flower tea and a hint of lavender?? The description alone sold me before the taste. Next, the BISCUITS & TURKEY SAUSAGE GRAVY WITH EGGS. My Lord, I miss this dish already. The biscuits were PERECTLY fluffy and soft with a bit of crisp to the edges and the gravy was DECADENT. Also, UPGRADE TO THE MILLION DOLLAR POTATOES. They add parmesan sauce, bacon crisp and herbs, and we saw the picture of it on our table so there was no way we were passing this up. They were MOUTHWATERING. Being from NYC, we found the prices oh-so-affordable, AND the portion size is wonderful. To the point where I was getting full and UPSET at myself for getting full because I wanted to keep eating because it was so good and I couldn't. And I had to leave the leftovers with my uncle because they probably wouldn't travel well from VA back to NYC but I begged him to please not waste it because it would be a travesty. Also yea, the place was quite spacious (also has outdoor seating), interesting bathroom layout for the ladies room, every single employee from the waitress to the hostess to the stand-by-the-door-person-who-wasn't-a-host/hostess was genuinely friendly, helpful and accommodating which is great for such a popular place. Yeah so I've been to first watch a number of times before at multiple locations and have always enjoyed their food. We ordered delivery to our hotel this morning and the food was just not great. Not sure if it's this location or an overall decline in the food. We ordered the honey chipotle chicken hash, it came with chicken bacon onions peppers potato avocado 2 fried eggs on top and lime crema. For how many ingredients were in this I just expected way more flavor. Instead, I got a giant bowl of soft bland potatos that just tasted like old oil. The chicken and bacon weren't anywhere to be found - if they were in there you could've fooled me bc I looked and it felt like just a big bowl of potatos. Also couldn't find the cotija cheese or the like crema. There were two measly pieces of avocado on top and like 3 strings of pickled red onion. Dish was completely disproportionate and unbalanced by the massive amount of potato. This felt like a rip off. My partner had the chikichanga. Here's the description on the app: "whipped eggs with spicy, all natural chicken, chorizo, green chilis, cheddar and Monterey Jack, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla. Topped with Vera Cruz sauce and all natural sour cream" - actual item is nothing like description. This item comes in a tortilla that is cooked into the egg - so you're getting this weird soggy egg wrap situation rather than a crispy tortilla. wtf? As for the inside, again we felt like the chorizo and avocado were both missing and it was just plain bland chicken. The worst part was this "Vera Cruz" sauce. Vera Cruz sauce is supposed to be like a chunky tomato sauce with capers olives and some other stuff. The first watch version was legit like a thick gooey lemon flavored cream goop??? The audacity of them to pass this off as a "Vera Cruz" sauce when it was literally nowhere even in the same realm as what that is. It also tasted horrible. It tasted like sweet whipped lemon spread on top of a spicy chicken burrito. The elements did not work at all together this was disgusting. We got the fall donut holes and a drink and those were both acceptable. But for both of the entrees to be this bad I would not come back. Do better first watch! read more

Do not eat here unless you have a day to wait for service and food and you enjoy room temperature food. After a 40 minute wait to be seated, we waited an additional 20 minutes before our waitress came to our table and that was only after my wife asked a manager for assistance. The food was room temperature and definitely wasn't worth a hour long wait. I have never had a bad experience at any other First Watch and this piss poor experience is likely due to personnel and not brand. I'm an avid first watcher but today was my first time at the willow lawn location! Really enjoyed it, we came maybe an hour and a half before closing so no long wait. My partner and I were looking for a place to grab breakfast before a road trip to DC, and she suggested this location as she's been to a few. This place was a surprise to me and I see myself going back if one is nearby. The location was in a convenient area for the type of place it is, I say this because usually these fancy types are in downtown areas which I hate. I loved the design of the place, I loved the presentation of the plates, and most important of all, the taste. I highly recommend their Purple Haze drink because as a man from the island who enjoys raw sugar cane, this drink utilizes well for a wonderful sweet drink. I ended up taking two to go for later lol. I was disappointed but the purple haze was great so I was happy with it. My only complaint is that it's SUPER sweet. I had to add a little water to it. We were sat immediately, and the waitress came within a minute or so. After she got our drinks, we decided on the million dollar bacon to share and I got the Parmesan Bacon Hash. It was AMAZING.
