Today I was leaving an appointment and decide I wanted some breakfast. I decided to go to a sure thing. First Watch has never disappointed me on anything I've eaten. I was greeted promptly and immediately seated. Within a minute the server was there with water and asked if he could answer any questions. I wish I had gotten his name because he was amazing and one of the reasons for this post. Today I debated on my normal traditional breakfast or something different. I saw something on their seasonal menu that really caught my eye. I'm a creature of habit though so I leaned towards my normal the server showed up. When asked if I had any questions I mentioned my thoughts and he stated "I don't recommend anything unless I've had it and truly believe in it". Nothing better than a server who has tried the food and is honest. Today I at his advice I stepped out of the normal and I ordered the Carnitas Breakfast Burrito. Well I ordered it without the pico and the red onion because of my preference but all I can say was I loved it! This was an amazing burrito as you can see in the photos. As you can also see I ordered the Million Dollar bacon which is incredible, the only problem is it leaves you wanting more! lol. The million dollar bacon came s just amazing and never disappoints! Back at first Watch after a little while and had my go to meal with the wife as usual. The pancakes were still very flat but they were a bit larger this time only because I said something about it on my order. Also seems like every single time we come the coffee cups at the table are always dirty. Something is going on with the dishwasher probably but be on the lookout for it before you get your coffee! The service and servers are always great, no complains here. Even though I was asked to message an email about the reviews and there has been said at least 3 times I would have a follow up, it never happened. I'm still waiting an update on it. read more

OM-Gersh....This place is SOOOOOO close to my workplace. Can you honestly get enough of Breakfast/Brunch foods?! I swear to you, this 2nd pregnancy around has been hard on me. I finally had a random craving for some brunch food and this place saved me! haha. I checked out their website and saw that they had pancakes, toast (aka french toast), specialty juice, salads, sandwiches, etc. I honestly clicked out of their website about 3 times because I couldn't make up my mind. After some tough deliberations, I decided on their Chocolate chip pancake and biscuit and gravy to go. I used their app before to take down reservation at the Short Pump location. Super easy to use and order from (be sure to use the correct location). They were super quick in getting this order in and done! Tip** - If you order to go, there's a separate parking in the back of the building where you can just go in and pick up your order. I by accidentally a parked in the front and had to walk through the restaurant to grab my bag (but the staff were super friendly and nice). I brought it back to my desk and it was still warm/hot to eat. I LOVED IT! Everything honestly tasted amazing and it just hit the spot for me. She brought a pot of delicious coffee and iced water. We both ordered a classic. I asked for crispy bacon. The food was delivered in a short time by a very pleasant young man. It was hot and tasty and my bacon was crisp. I wasn't especially hungry but I ate everything on my plate, even tasting my gf's jelly and spreading it on the thick slices of buttered toast. Our first time here was a great experience, towards the end... So, at the beginning it seems that our food was misplaced and the breakfast was taking FOREVER to come. The kids meal blueberry pancake was large but way over cooked, the biscuits and gravy were not good at all. Hard as a rock biscuits and flavorless gravy. This actually hurts to write. I have only ever eaten breakfast at First Watch and it's always been amazing. Today is the day that broke me. I ordered take out, 2 salads and 2 sandwiches. The amount of salad bs price was ridiculous. It was a very small salad with a very high price. I ordered the supposed chopped avocado salad and it was not chopped, their was few chicken pieces and I think I only found 2 slices of avocado. 2 monte Cristo sandwiches that literally tastes like I made time at home. But I had heard great things about the Million Dollar Bacon, and wanted to try it. It was mid-afternoon on Tuesday. I was promptly seated and given a menu. Scan. Scan. Scan. The Works Omelet caught my eye. Ham, Bacon, Sausage, House-roasted Crimini Mushrooms, Onions and Tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack. Topped with all-natural Sour Cream. Yum! So I ordered to go, The Works Omelet ($11.49) and Million Dollar Bacon ($5.49). Ten minutes later I was headed out the door with my food. At home I sampled the Million Dollar Bacon first. That is some good bacon! I've had better, and I wouldn't call it Million Dollar Bacon (although it is overpriced.) And it is merely bacon fried with Brown Sugar. But still quite good, if you don't mind paying over $1 per strip. Next was The Works Omelet. Very, very good. worth repeating. I'll be back. I have my sights on the Ham & Gruyere Melt, and the BLTE. First of all this is a chain. I have had a chance to visit couple of their locations over the past year and the food quality, service, cleanliness has been consistent. Weekends are always busy so it's highly advisable to reserve a table. I always try something new when I visit there. Ok, I went to First Watch in Florida about a year ago and just wasn't blown away. When I was craving breakfast food recently, I decided to try again. Plus, that new purple juice that they've been advertising was calling my name. I was leaving Maymont and headed back to this side of town with my toddler in tow, who I knew was going to fall asleep during the drive. I needed something that had curbside takeout so that I didn't have to carry a sleeping almost-3-year-old out of the car to pick up food. Bingo! This location of First Watch fit the bill. I ordered online after looking through the menu a few times. I decided on the Purple Haze drink with The Traditional Breakfast. Babyyyyyy this hit the spot! It smelled and looked so good, I didn't even make it home. I sat in the car and ate it then and there. The eggs were SO fresh, the multigrain toast is bangin', the potatoes were absolute perfection sauteed with onions, and the turkey sausage links were juicy and flavorful. My only gripe is the lack of gluten free options. I would love to see a gluten free pancake or waffle on the menu. This is definitely going to be my happy place! read more

Food looks better than it tastes. The pancake was a nice size however it taste like it was made with Jiffy cornbread mix. It was cold and a little overcooked. The shrimp and grits were so disappointing. The grits had absolutely no flavor. All of the flavor was in the shrimp. I has maybe 2 bites and couldn't finish it was so bland. I'm from the the south so I know good shrimp and grits, this didn't even come close. My boyfriend had the omelette so I can't say how it tasted but he enjoys omelettes from iHOP and said this one was "OK" so that should tell you all you need to know. The service was subpar. Started off good but after we received our food we didn't see him again. Didn't stop by to see if we needed anything, if we were satisfied with the food...nothing. Had the worst experience imaginable at this location and would highly suggest considering other options before visiting. My vegetarian girlfriend and I visited this location last Saturday an hour before closing and were treated as second class customers. We ordered the seasonal million dollar hash after waiting 15 mins to be seated. Upon placing our order we emphasized to our server that my girlfriend is vegetarian and cannot have any meat products in her entree so she must remove the bacon from her hash. 30 mins later we receive our entrees with piles of arugula covering the entire bowl. After shifting through the arugula we notice that our bowls are missing all the key ingredients, the sweet potatoes, the cheese, the mushrooms and my bowl was even missing the bacon. We both received bowls full of arugula, eggs and potatoes...that's it. After notifying both the server and the manager, the server explains to us that the kitchen is out of sweet potatoes (would've been nice to know this upon ordering). Nonetheless we tried to make a horrible dining service experience, worth our time as we were starving at this point we decided to eat our bare bowls until they brought out the rest of the ingredients...which they did INDIVIDUALLY. So we basically ended up creating our own million dollar hashes. Following finally receiving all of the ingredients, my girlfriend finds BACON and bacon grease at the bottom of her bowl! At this point we felt like our entire dining experience was sabotaged by the server, the kitchen staff and the manager. So we continued to express ourselves, until my girlfriend got nauseous and had to run out of the restaurant to throw up in the parking lot. The manager told us that we didn't have to pay for the food and he would give us gift cards or whatever but this all felt like a slap to the face. To make matters worse, while my girlfriend was throwing up in the parking lot, I ran inside to get a bottle of sparking water from the manager to ease her stomach, which he did, while not even issuing an official apology. In all, I understand that providing service within the last hour of business is not ideal for anyone in the customer service industry but AT THE LEAST, customers deserve to receive exceptional service at all times. We will not be back, mediocre food alongside piss poor service. read more

We went the day after Xmas, and the place was busy. We put our name on a wait list ahead of time, but still took a while to be seated. We ordered right away and our food took almost an hour to arrive... cold. Butter sat on the waffles unmelted. My omelet was mildly warm, cheese already congealed (and barely there), the bacon cold. They could not handle the rush, the food suffered. It was also freezing inside and SO LOUD. They have done nothing to help with sound absorption. A table of 6 could not converse. So the First Watch at 5310 W Broad is one of my favorite to visit. This location is where I find TWO of the best wait staff there.... Forrest and Bri, they are my rock stars!!! I am NOT the easiest customer to please and somehow they anticipate my needs in addition to that they make me feel as if I'm going to visit friends and not just getting food. This place seems to do a great business, and now I know why! I finally made it in on a weekend for brunch and was impressed with the food and the atmosphere. Pro Tip: Weekends are packed. They do not take reservations but you can jump on the "wait list" on their website before you arrive to skip the line. The restaurant has its own private parking lot off W Broad Street so you don't need to worry about the hassle of finding a spot. Both the lot and the restaurant are also both fully wheelchair accessible. I went with one other person on a Saturday afternoon and it was a 30 minute wait, so we sat on the benches outside until we were called. Inside the restaurant is really cute; what Chip and Joanna would call "industrial farmhouse." The warm wood floors, booths, and accents pair well with the exposed ceilings and metal pendant lights. The menu had so many delicious sounding options and included dietary markers and calorie information for those who are interested. I chose the Avocado Toast which may sound like a meager meal but it was anything but! I have no photo evidence because I devoured every bite. The crusty whole grain bread was the perfect vehicle for at least one full avocado worth of spread, plus olive oil and chunky salt. It also came with two perfectly cooked eggs. It was just the right amount of food; not too heavy, but also left me satisfied for the entire day. Food came out quickly and was served with a smile, and our waitress offered to split the check before we went to pay at the register.
