Maybe the cook would be out to take my order when she's done. After at least a minute or two, the cook comes from the back. The counter lady puts her phone down and stands up. Sweet! Finally I can pay $8 for a very mediocre bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Now they're both standing in front of me, yet to say a word. I say hello and the counter lady says hi. And that's it for communication. They stand there blankly staring at me. I'm standing there experiencing the absolute oddest interaction I've ever had in a restaurant in front of two people who don't look like they're experiencing much at all. They looked at me but wouldn't say anything. They stood there for probably a solid 2 minutes staring at me. Finally I just turned around and left. If I were the owner and saw this interaction I would fire both of them. What an absolute terrible way to present your business. I will never come back. I will never recommend this place. If someone asks me about it, I'll tell them to actively avoid it. It's overpriced to begin with so you'd expect there to be something to make up for it. What an absolute waste of a great spot in downtown Smyrna.

My party and I had originally planned to eat somewhere else, but that location was extremely full. When we checked on the First Watch website, we saw an option to join the restaurants waitlist, and the approximated wait time was about 30-45 minutes. We felt that would be fine seeing as it would take us about that amount of time to drive from our original stop to the First Watch. We arrived at the restaurant in separate cars, and by the time we got there, the waiting time had elapsed. The first person in our party to arrive informed us that the person at the restaurant's 'reception' informed her that there was no room for us. He proceeded to tell us that even though we were on the waitlist, the people who were not on the waitlist but arrived before us had precedence over us. It was all really confusing because we didn't see the point of there being a waitlist at all if people could just walk in as they pleased. We considered going to a nearby restaurant to have brunch instead, but fortunately, a table opened up. Our table was one of the outdoor dining area tables. The shades were pulled back even though the sun was quite intense that day, and there was one pesky fly, but besides that, it was okay. While ordering our drinks, we were surprised to find out the restaurant didn't serve alcohol, but we made due with what they did offer. My menu choice consisted of the Ham and Gruyere melt with sides of turkey sausages and fresh seasonal fruit, and a glass of water. The melt tasted fantastic on the first bite. Although I would have preferred it without the tomato, the smoked ham, melty Gruyere cheese and Dijonnaise merged perfectly with each other and complemented the brioche excellently. I cut up some of the turkey sausage and added to the melt to bring out some more taste, and the salad served as a sort of neutralizer to calm everything down. It is a fine establishment. Although, I think it would be good to make the whole waitlist fine print a bit clearer. read more

I recently had a disappointing experience at First Watch that left a sour taste in my mouth. I found it disheartening to witness a manager's unprofessional behavior towards a server. Upon entering First Watch with my family, I was greeted by friendly hosts and seated within 40 mins. Food was pleasant which their menu offered a variety of brunch options. However, my positive impression quickly faded when I witness a manager, Winston (tall, glasses, darkskin, and baldhead) addressing another server using derogatory language. The manager's disrespectful remark referring to the server as a "bitch," was audible enough for other customers to hear. The manager's behavior not only undermined the dignity of the server by also displayed a lack of professionalism and leadership. This incident left me questioning the overall management practices and the values upheld by First Watch. This manager's behavior created an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone present. My dining experience was overshadowed by a profound sense of disappointment and unease. The incident highlighted a lack of professionalism and management's failure to uphold a respectful and inclusive work environment. Until the necessary steps are taken to address this issue, I cannot recommend dining at First Watch to others who value repsect, professionalism, and a positive dining experience read more

I would give zero stars if I could. My husband and I were seated at 9:30 am (perhaps a bit earlier), and we just left - an hour and a half later - without having received our food or any acknowledgement from management. At about 10, our server told us that the kitchen was slammed, which we understood, so we continued to wait. However, after we sat there and watched several people who arrived after us eat and leave, we asked to speak to the manager. 10+ minutes later, no manager. I (8 months pregnant) had to get up and walk to the front to ask to speak to him again. The host went to get him, and came back with the same old "we're behind" message. I said nope, we were told that 45 minutes ago. So the host went back again only to come back saying that the manager was busy cooking. Get out of here. So, apparently this place has no front of house management and piss poor leadership that would rather hide in the kitchen than address customers. I normally don't say this, but this so-called "manager" has no business being employed in a restaurant if he can't handle when things get busy. Hiding from your customers only makes things worse, especially when they're pregnant, uncomfortable, and waiting to speak to you - only to get dismissed with a sorry excuse. AVOID this location. Needs new manager. Fire this guy. read more

Ok, came back for a 3rd time and I feel like this visit deserved an updated review. Let me start by saying customer service sent me a personal msg apologizing for the bad experience and even offered to pay for my next visit, I declined, but went back anyways, any company willing to do whatever it takes to keep customers coming back & satisfied is enough for me. I went back this past Tuesday with my husband. We were greeted at the door and sat right away, the same lady who sat us was serving us as well. My husband and I were VERY pleased with her. The name on the check says Alejandra. I was being very picky with my food and she was very patient AND pleasant. My food came out fast and hot and delicious. My husband was being a little needy and had Alejandra running back and forth but she smiled the whole time and continued to check on us to make sure we were satisfied. If service could be like this on every visit, we will definitely continue to come back. Even the food was perfect this time. Five stars and two thumbs up! read more

I came here a couple days ago after a long walk, so I brought my appetite. I ordered a healthy breakfast and asked for a small bit of the dressed mixed greens on the side. I get my food and proceed to chow down. Not even halfway in between my meal A SILK WORM crawled out my salad... YES, A SILK WORM!!! While management was adamant that it's not like them and attempted to place the blame on the supplier, the fact of the matter is that the food came out of YOUR KITCHEN!!! Were the greens even washed? It seems as though the restaurant relies too much on their supplier to clean the food that comes out of THIER KITCHEN!!! Needless to say, I'm good on First Watch. So went here today and must say it was good not great! We had to wait a bit which was fine because it is Sunday. When we were seated it was at a table that had not been cleaned yet and it took almost 10 minutes to have it cleaned and reset. Once that was done the food was subpar. I had the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy with over medium eggs. The sausage and eggs were good but the biscuits tasted a little stale. The waitress was great and very understanding. Maybe it was just an off day there. I will go back on a different day and give them another shot. Everybody deserves a second chance. read more

Absolutely delicious food! The first time I visited this place I took my mom and dad to meet up with my friend for Sunday brunch. We all had breakfast and it was terrific. After that each time we went it was for breakfast until one day my mom and I were out and about and we stopped and found out they also have yummy sandwiches and salads. My favorite is the Pecan Dijon salad - it really is to die for!! They are only open until around 2:00-2:30 in the afternoon, but it's great to grab something on a Saturday or Sunday late morning / early afternoon! read more

Really good food, however the last two times I came in for a to go order the staff was really rude, inattentive. My food took a really long time to get to me. On July 13th it took 55 minutes to get a sandwich. The manager did give me a gift card but I was still charged for my food. I myself as a manager/business owner would have comped the food as to not loose a valuable customer. First Watch customer service is terrible. When I say this was an absolute waste of money and still some of the worst barbecue I've ever had, I mean it. Honestly, I probably should've known when I saw "barbecue" spelled Bar-B-Q that we might not be on the same page about what good Southern barbecue is supposed to taste like. I ordered the chicken and sliced beef brisket, and neither meat delivered. The chicken didn't even look barbecued. It looked and tasted like a plain chicken breast that had been chopped up and served dry, with none of the smoke, char, moisture, or depth I expect from barbecue. The sliced brisket was equally disappointing. It arrived dry and grey, without that juicy tenderness, rendered fat, smoky bark, or rich beef flavor that makes brisket worth ordering in the first place. And honestly, I've had frozen brisket from Costco with better flavor and texture than this. Maybe they should start grabbing that and serving it instead. A restaurant with Bar-B-Q in the name simply should not be losing a brisket battle to something I can pull out of my freezer at home. And then there was the barbecue sauce. This might have been the biggest miss for me. It was extremely watery and completely lacked the smoky flavor and richness I want from a barbecue sauce. A good sauce should complement the smoke and seasoning already developed in the meat. This one didn't add anything enjoyable to the plate. The potato salad actually wasn't too bad. I probably would've enjoyed it more alongside a barbecue sauce I actually liked. The cheddar muffins were easily the best thing I tasted and probably the only item from this meal I'd willingly order again. I also ordered mac and cheese, but I never tasted it. Considering my opinion of everything else on the plate, that was probably for the best because I may have ended up having something else to add to this review. Visually, at least, it looked more promising than the rest of the meal. For me, authentic Southern barbecue should bring smoke, seasoning, moisture, tenderness, and layers of flavor before you ever reach for the sauce. The sauce should enhance great barbecue, not be responsible for creating all of its flavor. Unfortunately, I found none of that here. If you prefer very mild barbecue without much smoke or seasoning, this may be more suited to your palate. But if you're looking for the bold, smoky, deeply seasoned barbecue I expect when eating BBQ in the South, I absolutely would not recommend this as a representation of it. I am not a southern food expert, but after eating at other places in GA, Willie B's Sisters seems to be legit Also, pay attention to the hours and days of the week they are open because they do catering on certain days.
