I want to start off by stressing that this place is really busy for a reason. Like myself, there are tons of people who find the food and the service to normally be exceptional. Unfortunately, there seems to be a need of business process improvements. Like a lot of other customers that waited outside, in the cold, for over an hour, I placed my order online. I ordered avocado toast and poached eggs, that was all. One order of avacado toast and poached eggs. I arrived at the time provided after ordering. When I got to First Watch the cavalier host was telling another customer how refunds were not an option. At the time I had no clue about the delay in orders. Normally, I wouldn't think this is an issue but if she also waited over an hour for her order, the policy should be adjusted. Customers were repeatedly told by the unbothered host that their order would be ready in '10 mins'. That was not the case for anyone. I overheard other customers who were waiting outside in the cold (because First Watch doesn't have a waiting area) mention that the printer that received orders just started working...that was probably 30mins into my wait and supposedly the cause of the delay. I would not know as again, the host wasn't interested in helping anyone with online orders. Never was there an apology. Never was there someone that announced the orders were ready. We had to repeatedly squeeze through dine-in customers waiting to be seated to get to the table reserved for take out only to find our order was still not ready. To add insult to injury, when I did finally receive what was supposed to be 'poached' eggs, they looked raw. A few suggestions - don't take online orders if they're too overwhelming for the establishment. Shit it down on the weekends. It seems a bit unscrupulous to subject customers to this AND deny cash refunds. If you don't have the space for a waiting area, set up a paging system that accurately communicates to customers when their order will be ready for pickup. Again, great food and usually great service but 2/7/2021 was not a bright spot for Vinings First Watch. read more

Waitress was attentive and friendly even with it being so packed. I just wasn't too impressed with my food. We had the chorizo veggie omelette which was way more egg than anything else. It's a fluffy egg. I prefer a thinner style omelette. We also had the million dollar bacon which was really good. We also had the Monterey club sandwich with the soup of the day which was a veggie soup. Both weren't that great. For this place to be so packed I guess my expectations were high. This is a cute little brunch spot. They are allowing dine-in service, but we did a to go order. I got the trifecta with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and a pancake. I also tried the watermelon wake-up beverage. Pick up was very easy and quick. Sindy is super sweet and very personable. Honest mistake of forgetting to put my friend's order in the bag, but she was very apologetic and quickly bagged her order. She also gave us muffins for the "hassle". It really wasn't a big deal, but it's nice when the employees go above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience. My food was fresh and warm. And that darn drink is so good. The first time I had to keep sending my sausage back because they kept bringing it undercooked until I finally just didn't get it. Today, January 25, I go and they put us outside in heated patio. The problem with this is that if you weekend right under heater, you felt as though you were burning but if you were not right under it, you were cold. Then I ordered the morning meditation and my waitress brings it with almost ZERO orange juice and it tastes real bad. After this, I order an omelette and ask as I'm ordering if they prepare the omelette with boxes eggs or shell eggs. She tells me they use real eggs. When I get my omelette, it was prepared with what was clearly boxed eggs. When she comes back, I show concerns of my omelette being prepared with box eggs and she says they were real when tHey clearly weren't. I feel as though if restaurants are going to have outside seating, they should emphasize to their servers to have the same quality service as they do wIth inside customers. This food was actually good, but my first time here and I literally had the most shocking dining experience ever. Upon being seated on a 4 top, there were two coffee mugs and one empty glass. We didn't receive water nor another glass until 80% into the meal. I ordered a market hash skillet, which entailed veggies and potatoes topped with two eggs, and my brother ordered salmon benedict. It took some time to get the food, but we weren't in a rush. Got excited to receive our food, only to realize THERE WERE NO EGGS ON THE HASH SKILLET. I could understand no potatoes or veggies or cheese since they all reside (usually) under the eggs, but how can you miss the two eggs ON TOP? I waited for the waitress to come come back and inform her, and rather than take my skillet back to place the eggs on, she put in an order of eggs. I then proceeded to watch other diners get eggs on their plate BEFORE I received mine. My eggs arrived in a small ramekin for me to assemble onto my plate, and use the yolk to reheat my now cold potatoes. My brother had finished his entire meal by the time my eggs arrived. The food was good. I would actually come back for the food, but the complete miss followed by how it was handled has me very hesitant to return. read more

This restaurant is consistently amazing every time. In Atlanta we have a lot of cliche and gimmicky breakfast spots that just fall flat of wowing us. First Watch always delivers. The restaurant was clean and our service this morning was incredible. We were met with a smile and cheerful banter. Our server anticipated our every need without us even having to ask. The food was cooked to perfection and you would never have known that it was a busy Saturday morning. Though First Watch is a chain, each location seems to have a pretty local vibe. This location in the Vinings area has a very attractive building and interior decor compared to some of the locations that I was familiar with in Pennsylvania. The wait was 45 minutes for Saturday morning breakfast. Even though it was frustratingly long, there are a few shops in the area to check out while waiting. They also offered mini cups of free coffee in the waiting area. Overall, the food was pretty good at our table. However, both my husband and I made the mistake of ordering the carrot cake pancakes. The flavor of the pancakes was nice but the carrots were very chunky within the batter, which was not a texture either of us enjoyed. The disappointing part of our experience was the service. We weren't greeted for a long time after sitting down, and the food took a long time to come out. Really enjoyed brunch here! Very cute atmosphere and everyone was super nice. I used the waitlist feature on Yelp and it worked out great because I walked in, checked in with the host and was seated within five minutes. I ordered some coffee and the "trifecta" which included bacon, eggs and a lemon ricotta pancake. Everything I had was delicious! The food took a little longer than we anticipated but granted it was a busy Saturday afternoon so definitely wasn't an issue (plus the server kept our hot coffee fresh which was super nice). After our 90 minute wait, we were met with excellent customer service by both the host and our waitress and the food was amazing! Visited for the first time and really enjoyed it. I had the Skillet Hash - Market (no goat cheese) and my friend had the Tri -fecta (blueberry pancake and bacon). We enjoyed it very much. I also liked the coffee - very flavorful. I would definitely go back. If I had to pick things I think could be better is (1) some dishes weren't customizable and (2) it would be nice if they had more frittata, or a "scramble" option. Neither of these would stop me from going back. There are enough options to keep my interest. Also, although I didn't have it, I've been told the maple bacon is everything. First time coming here and with the photos on Instagram I was definitely looking forward to it! We came on a busy weekend but used the Yelp waitlist to cut our physical wait time. They offer coffee and water for those of us waiting and there is a first come first serve community table that you can walk up to without a wait if you decide you don't mind sharing with people. We ended up getting seated outside on the covered patio which was definitely quieter than inside. The menu is large and offers plenty of breakfast and lunch options with a large selection of healthier fare, which is always a plus! Even if today weren't a cheat day for me I would find something to eat. Our server was friendly and definitely attentive. Food definitely took a while to come out, although we did come during prime brunch time on a Sunday. I ended up getting the Chickichanga (breakfast burrito but cooked with some egg on the tortilla) and a slice of French toast, just because I could... both were super tasty! This was my second time ther and I got the same thing. The Trifeca. It's a whole wheat pancake or waffle and 2 eggs anyway you like them and bacon. sausage patty or link. I'm not a fan of whole wheat anything so I got the waffle, it's everything a waffle should be. I added cheese to my scrambled eggs because otherwise they're bland. I wanted the chickichanga but wasn't in the mood for meat. I asked our server if I could have mushrooms instead. Arthur didn't hesitate at all and said of course. So the service was off to a great start. When the food came out, it was really good. I can't decide if it's better than the Kennesaw location. Either one you go to though will be just as delicious. Yes, I know it's Saturday morning. And yes, I know the weekend is a busy time for breakfast/brunch restaurants. But, my experience at First Watch this morning has me wondering why I would ever go back in there again, regardless of day of the week. We went online and joined the waitlist, which at that time was 45 minutes. It took us 10 minutes to drive to the restaurant. When we got there, They said it would be a 15 minute wait. Sounds good! It was more than a 30 minute wait. We got to our table and we waited and we waited for our server to arrive. Our server arrived and took our order. And then we waited and we waited and we waited for our food. We waited so long, that our server came back and offered us free drinks from the drink menu. But we didn't come there for a free drink. No fault of the waiter, but unfortunately he is the one that is face to face with the customers. Maybe there's an issue with kitchen management, or overall management, as several other tables were offered free drinks as well due to their wait time. Bottom line, this place is a chain restaurant and not worthy of the wait. Nothing special about it at all today, other than the wait. Of course, I'm scratching my head as to why we continued to wait. We could have left but we had already invested so much of our time in waiting! There appears to be a kitchen management issue or maybe an overall management issue. However, there are too many other great places to eat in this area, and the whole of Atlanta, to so much time waiting. Use your wait time more effectively and drive in to town to see how brunch can really be done. read more
