Hmm, I wasn't sure what to expect when I came here. It looked very..."chain" like and I typically try to go for the more mom-and-pop places but I actually didn't know it was a chain until later. Anyway, I digress. I ordered the hash with sunny side up eggs. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were good but I wish they were a bit crunchier. I think that would play off the runny eggs well. The vegetables were seasoned well. It wasn't an overly large meal. It was a nice portion size. It came with a little cup of mixed fruits and a toasted english muffin. The coffee was delicious. I should have gotten it to go. The service was impeccable. She was attentive and very nice. I had to dock a star for the lack of drink options. I can't have soy or lactose so I had to drink the coffee black because they didn't have almond milk. My fiance wanted to order a different kind of coffee but they didn't serve that. I would come back. It's not in my top 5 but it's good...for a chain restaurant. read more

Snellville has very few brunch places like this. First watch is a much needed place for this area. It's only open from 7am-2:30pm but when it is open, it's always packed. Usually there is always a wait on the weekends, but waiting is comfortable. They have seating inside and outside and coffee while you wait. Service is always good. I have been here twice and one time I ordered eggs Benedict which was delicious! I would say the brunch menu is much better than the lunch menu. They also have a seasonal menu. My cousin ordered the fall pumpkin pancakes which were delicious and I tried the butternut squash soup which is the best I have ever had. My husband is a picky eater and he loves his omelette and the chickichanga. Overall, I would recommend this place. The only thing I would like to see them add is mimosas or more beverage items. I didn't enjoy their iced coffee but the waitress was very nice and let me change to hot coffee. read more

I love this place! I have not had a breakfast that I did not believe was great. The freshness of the ingredients is wonderful along with the service. It's a little busy so if you get there early, you have no problem. I only hope that it's popularity remains. If it doesn't, more time and space for me to continue to try different things. The food was ok but the customer service was terrible. I was craving French toast so I found this place on yelp. I walked in and there were about 3 tables occupied. The hostess stand was empty and I couldn't see any servers around. Another party walked in behind me. I grabbed a menu from the hostess stand to browse for my to go order. Eventually the hostess came up to the stand and asked how she could help. The party behind me spoke over my head that they would like a table for 3 and the hostess was about to help them in front of me. I have the party behind me a dirty look and stated that I was there first. They replied that they thought I was working there (mind you I'm just leaving class and wearing sweats). So the hostess turns to me to assist me with my to go order. I place my order and she helps the other party. Then she moves on to other tasks around the restaurant. She informs me that it will only be a few minutes for my order. I sit in the waiting area looking at my phone. I hear a mans voice say something but I'm not sure what has been said or if it was directed towards me. Then I hear in an annoyed tone, "Ma'am" and I realize that whatever was said was for me. I look up and there's a man holding a to go order. I get up to pay and tell him thank you. He takes my card to process the payment and when the receipt comes, I put out my hand to take the receipt and he places it on the counter and walks away. Again, when I walked in there were only 3 tables occupied and add the one set of customers that came in behind me. So this restaurant was not busy. I sign the receipt, take my order and leave. I get home and the food was ok but the bad customer service outweighed the mediocre food. I'd rather go to IHOP or Waffle House. read more

So this place is better than J. Christopher's, and not quite as good as Murphy's (highlands). I've been twice to try different things, the killer Cajun omelet is tasty, and so are the pancakes. The portions are huge, go there with an appetite! Service is great, always a full house. Parking is scarce on the weekends, and the ass of a security guard will rudely let you know where you can and cannot park if you are dining at first watch (he is not employed by the restaurant). Also, I thought the story behind the name was pretty cool, it has military roots, which I love. This place is definitely worth trying a couple of times. read more

I can't believe it!!! I actually walked into First Watch and was seated right away, the service was excellent!!! Served with a smile and with no rush... love the setting here it is cozy. To mimic some other reviews -- the food was very good, the service was terrible. Our waiter was very pleasant, but it seemed like an eternity to get our food. We watched a party of 3 get up and walk out after sitting unattended for so long. One last comment -- a member of our party found a rubber ball in her salad. When it was brought to the waiter's attention, he replaced her entire meal and took the item off our bill. He said it was part of a handle of one of the waffle makers. My sister and I decided to have brunch at First Watch yesterday. I expected to have a great meal, but was served the breakfast scramble with a side of fruit and a maggot (in my fruit). I am truly disgusted! Not only did the waiter and manager try to insult my intelligence by telling me it was not a maggot or a bug (their words because it was not moving)-(like bugs don't die or something), the manager lied and stated it was a piece of shaved ham(I guess shaved ham/meat has legs and a head). I looked at him like the idiot he was for that comment. HE had the nerve to offer me something else, I stated I will never eat here again, and then he said my meal was taken care of. I stated I wouldn't pay for maggots. I did not receive an apology but they tried to make it appear I was a fool. Too bad for them I took pictures and video. D-lush-us! Went here for a Saturday brunch with my sisters. I had the pancakes, eggs and hash browns. My sister had the french toast. My other sister had the eggs with hollandaise sauce. We tasted each other's dishes and they were all fab. The french toast still had a little crisp to it which I liked (I hate soggy french toast). This was our first time eating here. We noticed the parking lot at this shopping center was packed the past couple of weeks. We saw FirstWatch restaurant at the corner of the shopping center and that it was always packed with customers. After a short wait, despite the packed lobby, we had a thoroughly enjoyable breakfast with delicious coffee - Chickichanga and Cinnamon Pancake Breakfast. We decided to check out First Watch because we were in the area, I had just recently heard about the chain for the first time, and my husband wasn't feeling well and wanted soup. Not the fault of the people at this location, of course, but based on the main web site's mobile menu we expected to have a choice of six soups. Unfortunately, we could only order the standard tomato basil (which he did not like) or the soup of the day. The food was okay... about what I would expect from a chain. I had the Italian Benedict and though it didn't have as many roasted tomatoes or as much sauce as I was expecting based on the photos, it was pretty tasty. Very nicely (lightly) dressed greens on the side. Our server was friendly and pretty attentive. But the overall processes and the way the place seemed to be managed were problematic. First (again, probably something dictated by Corporate), you can't tell when you walk in whether you should sit down or wait to be seated. No one greeted us and there was no sign. We finally realized that there was a single, sort of frazzled young woman running the cash register for exiting customers AND helping people who wanted to sit down and eat. No one seemed to be sure who was "up next." Then when we were finished eating, we went through the same thing... waiting to be rung up while they were also trying to seat new arrivals. Meanwhile, there were lots of tables waiting to be bussed and no toilet paper in the ladies' room. My husband kept saying "I don't think there are any grownups in charge here." It would be ideal if you could pay at the table. Or if there were separate people responsible for ringing up orders and greeting/seating new arrivals. read more

I went to first watch for breakfast with my fiance and let me just say that I walked out pissed off that I payed so much money for just okay food. I got the biscuits and gravy with their seasoned potatoes and scrambled eggs. The waitress really talked this dish up and told us how good it was and i was so so dissappointed when i recieved my dish and everything was cold except for my eggs. I could tell that the potatoes were not made fresh and were very cold. Everything was just bleh. My coffee was 2.50 and then my orange juice was another 3.60... REALLY?! Almost $4 for an orange juice that wasn't even Tropicana quality? You can keep your high prices and cold food First Watch. I will not be back. read more

My girlfriend got the Salmon eggs benedict, the Hollandaise sauce and the biscuits were cold, and she was disappointed. Really disappointed. First time to visit and based on the food and service won't be going back. Visited because I wanted to have a simple breakfast but realized it was almost 2 o'clock. Ordered the breakfast with eggs grits bacon and an English muffin and coffee. I ask the waitress for scrambled eggs and very crisp bacon. What I received were two eggs which looked like they had been Fried and then cut up with a knife and fork. Definitely not the nice fluffy scrambled eggs I was looking for. And one piece of bacon was actually very crispy and the rest of the bacon was just barely cooked. The waitstaff was not attentive at all. They were much more interested in cleaning up the restaurant I assume so they could leave as quickly as possible at the end of their shift. Within seconds of receiving my food, from the food runner, my waitressed stopped by to provide the bill. No offer of a coffee refill or to check to see how my food was or ask if needed anything. This was the last time I saw her until she came to the register to take my payment. Only reason for the two stars, the cheese grits were very good. Will not be back and do not recommend this restaurant! read more
