Tried brunch here a few times and i'll say it gets very busy here over the weekend which may cause service to be a bit slow. Overall, I enjoyed their egg sandwich but the drinks were too sweet or watered down (kale tonic) for my preference. I think their pancakes are very sweet as well. However, location is nice and I like their bar seating by the window.

This place was amazing, I order one of their omelets and it had to be one of the best I've eaten in a while. The service was on the point and the ambiance of restaurant was cozy and had good views of the nearby buildings. Overall I would come back for a nice and delicious meal.

came here on a monday morning around 10 am they were pretty busy despite it being the first day of school for almost every school in the area. we were shortly seats. our server was super sweet and welcoming. every encounter i had with an employee of this restaurant was super nice. i ordered the french toast and it was pretty average not anything crazy. my boyfriend got the evaluated egg sandwich and gave it a 3 out of 5. service and ambiance wise impeccable. food average.

I came here by myself Saturday around 9am for a quick breakfast before heading out of the area. I did join the online queue but given the time I went, they were able to seat me very quickly. The place was around 70% full. Not too loud, tables well spaced apart. The staff here are so very nice! My server knew I was going to be heading out quickly and was so mindful in bringing me the check soon after my food came out. Food wise, I got coffee and they bring you the whole pot which is great! Each table has cream, sugar, and a few condiments. I wanted to try so many things but I opted for the salmon frittata with a side of potatoes. I thought the potatoes were a bit salty for my taste but the frittata was so good! Overall I super recommend this location!

I'll admit that my partner and I just didn't care to try this spot for a good two years despite living a single block away...how wrong I was! I totally get the hype around First Watch now. For such a busy spot, the service is quite efficient (shout out to our server Taylor who was nice and provided excellent service). For a Friday lunch, it was quite crowded, although we were seated almost immediately. The menu has a few seasonal items but they've got all of the classics with their touch on it, as well as options for each dish (e.g. there are three different types of eggs benedict). I appreciated that they had a well-established juice bar, and ordered the kale juice, which was packed with sweet and tart flavor (I actually even enjoyed it once it diluted a bit). I opted for their smoked salmon eggs benedict and it hit the spot for me; there was the perfect amount of hollandaise sauce and salmon (that is to say, I don't like it too decadent or fishy and this was balanced enough for me). The hint of lemon was the unsung hero. It paired nicely with the simple side salad that also used a lemon vinaigrette. I also ordered a side of their million dollar bacon, and while I wish it were a little crispier, it was still very solid. My partner was less of a fan of his classic eggs benny, but his dish did seem more loaded with the ingredients, so it was perhaps too overwhelming for him. Overall, I'd definitely come back for an easy, efficient brunch with all of the classics and then some.

I love a good mimosa and pancakes and I did not leave disappointed! I got the chocolate chip pancakes with a side of potatoes and it was very good! I only have 4 starts because 1. I feel like it's a bit pricey a for what it is and 2. We waited at least 15 minutes before our server came to get our order. I LOVE how they have the pay from your phone option, it's so convenient and nice to be able to use Apple Pay! Also just a heads up with parking, if you don't want to pay be prepared for a bit of a walk. I parked down the road in the neighborhood section but they do have paid parking near the restaurant. I'd come back!

Meh, service wasn't the best but the food was great! I didn't realize that a first watch was in CWE, but it was a welcome surprise. Although the service was friendly, the service was sloooooow..... I waited to be greeted at the hostess station to be seated. I waited to be greeted after finally being seated. Then I continued to wait to order my meal and to get my check at the end of the meal. They weren't busy, but possibly short-staffed. The food was good. I'd suggest skipping their specialty mint iced mocha. I've had much better, but they get an A for effort. The lemon ricotta pancake was good, but they were a bit heavy-handed with the lemon custard topping. In spite of all of this, I'd still return, as this is in a great location.

Took a walk down to the CWE location for my Birthday lunch with co-workers!!! This place is always busy but got sat right away! There is something for everyone and who doesn't mind Breakfast for Lunch???? I got the Breakfast Tacos which I highly recommend!! So Yummy. The Cheesy Grits were very bland!!! It needed seasoning!!! The co-workers got the Quinoa Bowl and the Sandwich and soup!!! Our server was attentive and helpful.

Great brunch spot. Good for groups- bill is by seat, so easy to split the check and pay at the end of the meal. It's a chain but I really appreciate the consistent quality, large portions and reasonable prices. I love the seasonal menu!

I am here right now. Truly the saddest looking lunch for $13 I have ever had. No diced potato, fruit or slice tomato. Just empty and sad looking. Tasted really bad too. Patties were clearly microwaved from a package. Very rude, sarcastic service as well. Ambiance is nice. They did lower my bill after I said something about, so kudos to that.

Always a great experience at First Watch! They've got great food and it's consistently yummy. I really enjoyed my breakfast burger and potatoes, the million dollar bacon is my guilty pleasure!! That with a side of avocado toast and egg is the perfect way to start your day! They serve the mimosa with a glass of OJ and mini bottle of champagne so you can decide how much champagne or OJ you want! It's nice Usually they're packed but we got lucky and were able to walk right in! I'd highly recommend joining the waitlist to make sure you're seated quickly

I usually get the beef but last couple times I have ordered chicken but got similar toppings, Spinach, tomato, chipotle aioli, and fried jalapenos on toasted sourdough. Love it! For a small upcharge you can get a salad as a side, I like to do that because I can steal a few of the delicious fries from my companions. The salad is generous, spring mix, red onion, tomato, croutons. It comes with shaved parmesan, but I ask them to leave that off. The champagne vinaigrette is perfect. This is my favorite burger place, but I like that I can get a great chicken sandwich!

The storefront: the direct out front, small parking lot was packed and people were going into the gated lot to find parking. The worst aspect is the ventilation which needs much work. We came out smelling so greasy and smokey. We seated ourselves and waited a minute for our waitress to assist us. She kept saying she was new, that it was like her second day or something and didn't quite know the menu. She also didn't know how to make a drink, with that being the case why are you allowed to make any cocktails. If you have a limited cocktail menu but an extensive bar selection you would think their cocktail specials were on point. Nooooo. The BF tried a margarita special and it was awful. I tried a special crafted cocktail that was cool that our waitress asked the guy bartending to specially make because she had no clue about what I was talking about. I hate going to a spot where I make drinks better than the bartenders on hand and that's your job. The BF ordered the the garlic burger and I ordered the Korean wings which NEVER came out because our waitress forgot to order them. So I shared food with the BF. The burger was extremely underwhelming, not seasoned at all. How do you specialize in burgers and mess that up. The best item we ate was the fries and the comedy show was good. I love dinner and entertainment. We are burger enthusiast and if this what your restaurant specializes in I expect to be wowed. We saw all the social media hype surrounding this place and were so excited to try them. To find out it was ALL just hype is a real let down. Since then, Olive + Oak has moved to its current location, which is spacious, airy and filled with light. And somehow, our experience last night was even better than what I remembered. I was having dinner with three friends I used to work with, and Abby, our server, was outstanding from start to finish. I arrived first and had a chance to chat with her before everyone else got there. Her energy and personality immediately stood out, and I knew she was going to be a hit with our group. Hard to believe she has been at Olive + Oak for only six months. She kept taking care of us throughout the evening. She really wanted us to try the grilled carrots, so she brought us an order on the house. Later, one of the managers stopped by with wine glasses and poured us some wine, also compliments of the restaurant. Those unexpected touches made an already great evening even more memorable. With four of us, we were able to explore quite a bit of the menu. We started with the Chicken Wings, Charred Octopus and Lion's Mane Steak. All three were distinctive and delicious. The Fried Green Tomato Salad was enormous, easily enough for all four of us to share, and packed with flavor. We learned it was leaving the menu after that night, so our timing was pretty good. For my entrée, I had the Grilled Flank Steak with crispy Parmesan potatoes, along with a side of Olive + Oak fries. Incredible. The fries were world-class, and Abby even tracked down some barbecue sauce for me to dunk them in. And those Grilled Carrots Abby insisted we try? Wow! Definitely one of the surprises of the night. We finished by sharing two new desserts, the Cloud Cake and Samoa Cookie Cake. Both were super delicious and a great way to end the meal. We ultimately spent more than three hours at Olive + Oak, and never once felt rushed. We were there to reconnect, tell stories and enjoy being together again. Great food certainly mattered, but the warm, attentive service made the evening even better. Eight years was way too long between visits. Olive + Oak remains my favorite St. Louis restaurant.
