Good breakfast place. True 4/5 stars. Food: - Belgian Waffle: Very blonde, chewy. Center of the waffle cinches when you try to cut it in half. I'm of the opinion that a Belgian waffle should be a deeper brown with a slight crunch, leaving crumbs when you're finished. The maple syrup is quality. - Watermelon Juice: Delicious - not too sweet, but bright and flavorful. - Tres Leches French Toast: Very filling, large portion size. Crumbled gingerbread on top was very nice. Crunchy french toast, not too crunchy. - Avocado toast: Thick layer of avocado, nicely toasted whole grain bread. Over medium egg was well prepared. Good value for the price. Service: Decently quick. Attentive wait staff. Ambiance: Cute farmhouse style decor. We were seated adjacent to the washrooms, so each time the men's room door opened we saw people walking in and out. Music at an appropriate volume, well lit.

Tried brunch here a few times and i'll say it gets very busy here over the weekend which may cause service to be a bit slow. Overall, I enjoyed their egg sandwich but the drinks were too sweet or watered down (kale tonic) for my preference. I think their pancakes are very sweet as well. However, location is nice and I like their bar seating by the window.

came here on a monday morning around 10 am they were pretty busy despite it being the first day of school for almost every school in the area. we were shortly seats. our server was super sweet and welcoming. every encounter i had with an employee of this restaurant was super nice. i ordered the french toast and it was pretty average not anything crazy. my boyfriend got the evaluated egg sandwich and gave it a 3 out of 5. service and ambiance wise impeccable. food average.

I came here by myself Saturday around 9am for a quick breakfast before heading out of the area. I did join the online queue but given the time I went, they were able to seat me very quickly. The place was around 70% full. Not too loud, tables well spaced apart. The staff here are so very nice! My server knew I was going to be heading out quickly and was so mindful in bringing me the check soon after my food came out. Food wise, I got coffee and they bring you the whole pot which is great! Each table has cream, sugar, and a few condiments. I wanted to try so many things but I opted for the salmon frittata with a side of potatoes. I thought the potatoes were a bit salty for my taste but the frittata was so good! Overall I super recommend this location!

I'll admit that my partner and I just didn't care to try this spot for a good two years despite living a single block away...how wrong I was! I totally get the hype around First Watch now. For such a busy spot, the service is quite efficient (shout out to our server Taylor who was nice and provided excellent service). For a Friday lunch, it was quite crowded, although we were seated almost immediately. The menu has a few seasonal items but they've got all of the classics with their touch on it, as well as options for each dish (e.g. there are three different types of eggs benedict). I appreciated that they had a well-established juice bar, and ordered the kale juice, which was packed with sweet and tart flavor (I actually even enjoyed it once it diluted a bit). I opted for their smoked salmon eggs benedict and it hit the spot for me; there was the perfect amount of hollandaise sauce and salmon (that is to say, I don't like it too decadent or fishy and this was balanced enough for me). The hint of lemon was the unsung hero. It paired nicely with the simple side salad that also used a lemon vinaigrette. I also ordered a side of their million dollar bacon, and while I wish it were a little crispier, it was still very solid. My partner was less of a fan of his classic eggs benny, but his dish did seem more loaded with the ingredients, so it was perhaps too overwhelming for him. Overall, I'd definitely come back for an easy, efficient brunch with all of the classics and then some.

I love a good mimosa and pancakes and I did not leave disappointed! I got the chocolate chip pancakes with a side of potatoes and it was very good! I only have 4 starts because 1. I feel like it's a bit pricey a for what it is and 2. We waited at least 15 minutes before our server came to get our order. I LOVE how they have the pay from your phone option, it's so convenient and nice to be able to use Apple Pay! Also just a heads up with parking, if you don't want to pay be prepared for a bit of a walk. I parked down the road in the neighborhood section but they do have paid parking near the restaurant. I'd come back!

I am here right now. Truly the saddest looking lunch for $13 I have ever had. No diced potato, fruit or slice tomato. Just empty and sad looking. Tasted really bad too. Patties were clearly microwaved from a package. Very rude, sarcastic service as well. Ambiance is nice. They did lower my bill after I said something about, so kudos to that.

Meh, service wasn't the best but the food was great! I didn't realize that a first watch was in CWE, but it was a welcome surprise. Although the service was friendly, the service was sloooooow..... I waited to be greeted at the hostess station to be seated. I waited to be greeted after finally being seated. Then I continued to wait to order my meal and to get my check at the end of the meal. They weren't busy, but possibly short-staffed. The food was good. I'd suggest skipping their specialty mint iced mocha. I've had much better, but they get an A for effort. The lemon ricotta pancake was good, but they were a bit heavy-handed with the lemon custard topping. In spite of all of this, I'd still return, as this is in a great location.

Great brunch spot. Good for groups- bill is by seat, so easy to split the check and pay at the end of the meal. It's a chain but I really appreciate the consistent quality, large portions and reasonable prices. I love the seasonal menu!

Took a walk down to the CWE location for my Birthday lunch with co-workers!!! This place is always busy but got sat right away! There is something for everyone and who doesn't mind Breakfast for Lunch???? I got the Breakfast Tacos which I highly recommend!! So Yummy. The Cheesy Grits were very bland!!! It needed seasoning!!! The co-workers got the Quinoa Bowl and the Sandwich and soup!!! Our server was attentive and helpful.

Always a great experience at First Watch! They've got great food and it's consistently yummy. I really enjoyed my breakfast burger and potatoes, the million dollar bacon is my guilty pleasure!! That with a side of avocado toast and egg is the perfect way to start your day! They serve the mimosa with a glass of OJ and mini bottle of champagne so you can decide how much champagne or OJ you want! It's nice Usually they're packed but we got lucky and were able to walk right in! I'd highly recommend joining the waitlist to make sure you're seated quickly

Songbird makes great use of its space and should be near the top of your STL brunch list. A reasonably-sized (not-overwhelming) menu, great coffee, delicious cocktails, quick, attentive service, and undeniably delicous food. I took off on a redeye this morning (coffee courtesy of Blueprint), and landed on the Farm Sampler: two scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, sourdough toast, sliced avocado and sauteed shiitake mushrooms. Phenomenal flavors and textures. Toast is typically an afterthought for me, but the buttery crunch of the sourdough has to be spotlighted. The Bee's Knees cocktail was also a wonderfully refreshing prelude to the approaching STL summer. The time has come, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say: wake up, reserve, enjoy.

I was very excited to try them but left knowing I would not return. I waited 40 minutes on a weekday morning for a bar seat for one, standing because all the waiting area seats were taken. The hostess/waitress was very nice when she got to me, but you could tell that the amount of customers was simply too much to handle. Now, this was okay - I should have made a reservation, and it's not the staff's fault they were overwhelmed. However, the service once I sat down was patchy, delayed and distracted. I had to remind different servers of my presence, multiple times. I was willing to overlook this if the food had been fantastic, but unfortunately, their most popular item, the combo breakfast sandwich, was so incredibly heavy. The first bite was crispy, oily and fatty deliciousness, but by the third bite it was simply too rich. The sweet overtone of the honey was lovely but did not cut through the grease. By the time I finished half, I understood why several diners had left the other half uneaten. My personal preference is for a fresh, umami yet balanced sandwich that does not make me feel queasy after finishing it. This was not the sandwich for me. There was a long delay after I finished eating for them to bring me the check. My whole meal took around 2.5 hours. I had arrived starving and, I like to think, with an open mind. These are my honest, unfiltered observations. It is wonderful that so many people want to try their food and that their new space is bigger. Their decor, glassware and menu were cute and tasteful. I also love that they grew from a farmers market food stall and that they source their ingredients locally. With their level of popularity, I think they should focus on preserving the quality of their service and food.

We thought we had to wait for a long time, but it actually went quick (like 5 minutes) when we got there. We did not realize this place had an upstairs, until our waiter guided us. This place looks very large on the inside compared to what it looks like on the outside. The restaurant also had an rustic atmosphere. With exposed pipes, rusted decor, and 80's memorabilia on the shelf. We ordered coffee here, and one of them came in a Christmas cup. Even though it was six months away. My wife chuckled on how they served her coffee in a Christmas cup. Mine came in a plain white cup. But I still excessively chuckled on how funny the menu is and the staff are. The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Very amazing place. Will come again.

Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
