My wife competed in a 5K run in Forest Park A couple of Sundays mornings ago. After the race, my wife wanted breakfast. We went to the Original Pancake House. We've been to the Peoria location before, but this was our first time at the Ladue location. It was a busy Sunday morning and they told us there was about a 30 minute wait, but I don't think it took that long at all. Our server was fantastic very prompt. My wife ordered the chocolate chip pancakes, my daughter ordered the breakfast burrito, and I ordered the corned beef hash skillet. Our food arrived pretty quickly and was hot and fresh. I ordered the eggs over easy and they were perfect. My wife's pancakes look good with plenty of Chocolate Chips, and my daughter's burrito was a good size and looked good as well. The corned beef was not out of a can and had great corned beef flavor, the potatoes were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the side of pancakes. This was a little higher in cost than some other breakfast places, but for a rare treat, which my wife deserved for her effort in the race, was well worth it. The restaurant was decorated nicely and was quite clean.
Pancakes are phenomenal as well as the hash browns and sausage. Great breakfast restaurant where staff is always friendly and food is always hot and fresh. Great location as well.
This is my favorite breakfast restaurant everrrrr! I tried their new breakfast burrito and it was great. Even better because it came with pancakes. Just stopping by to upload pics and say I love OPH!

Brunch here was oh so delicious and great value! The coffee here was really good for some reason, and so was the chocolate milk. The maple syrup is not real but you can ask for real maple syrup for a slight up charge. The scrambled eggs were pretty standard, but well cooked and moist. The turkey sausage was really flavorful as well. As for the pancakes, they come in huge portions and are so fluffy and delicious!! The chocolate chip ones were my favorite. So gooey and chocolatey. The bacon stuffed ones were good but I wish the bacon had been crispier or saltier to create more contrast with the pancakes.
I arrived around 11am on a Saturday morning around 10:55am It was BUSY! I messed up and didn't see I could've joined the waitlist from my hotel. I was 48th in line with my party of 3 with an estimated wait of an hour. This was recommended by front desk manager at my hotel and my Lyft driver hyped them up though. During the wait, we went to the nearby shopping center to kill time and bought some things. Table was ready at 12:15pm. We ordered at the 12:21pm. Liz was our waitress. I got the bacon lovers breakfast (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and 3 pancakes). One son for the chorizo and pepper jack omelette; the other got pecan waffle, a side of sausage patties, and hot cocoa. The food came at 12:32, which was so quick! Honestly, everything was delicious and you get your money's worth! While the bacon was nice and thick, I wished it was a bit more crispy. My teen son, who was very impatient and didn't want to wait, said "This was definitely worth the wait" after he finished eating. My tween son gave it a 5/5! It's definitely family style as I saw many groups! Very inviting atmosphere.

I knew it was going to be a problem when they changed how reservations are made and waitlists are "maintained" Well, I'm fairly certain that First Watch is pleased that The Original Pancake House has made this uninformed decision. Regular diners here should know the decision was not made in Missouri. Obviously! The staff the menu and the ambiance is not negatively affected. So, stick with your favorite choices. And let the staff know we understand. Brunch was excellent. Service was prompt. Very good choice for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! It's all as it should be in here.
Service The manager almost spoiled my dining experience. If it wasn't for our waiter saving the day. First we had to wait about 45mins to get a table. We had a party of 4 but manager wouldn't seat us until the 4th person came into the building. It's petty because each table seats 2, 4 & 6+ It didn't make sense. So if you're dining here and your party is sitting in the car or outside YOU WILL NOT BE SEATED UNTIL EVERYONE IS AT THE HOSTESS STATION, smh. Waiter Service Our waiter was Sam. I think he was one of the best waiters I've ever had at this restaurant. Sam had knowledge about all the new items on the menu. He made sure our dining experience was great. Food Our waiter Sam suggested the NEW Banana Bread Griddle Cakes because I love their Banana pancakes. The Banana Bread Cakes came with caramel sauce but I love their Tropical syrup. I did try a small amount of caramel sauce and it tasted homemade, very good. The Cakes were fluffy with slightly crispy edges. The texture is dense almost like pound cake. The flavor is slightly sweet but not overly sweet like cake. I felt like it was missing one ingredient maybe the caramel sauce was the missing ingredient. There's no banana on the inside like the original banana pancakes. It's like banana bread. The Banana Griddle Cakes is a one & done for me. I love the original banana pancakes. The Spinach Feta Omelette & Banana pancakes is my go to order every time. The last couple of times I ordered the omelette I noticed their using a smaller amount of ingredients but it's still yummy.
I've come to this location a few times and I always receive excellent service. I also try to bring friends and family because I love the food and service so much. It can be a little loud, but it's fun to be there.
Unfortunately it had been a few years since I've been able to come back here but it is as good as I remember. Got the buckwheat with blueberries. A regular stack was (6) 6-inch cakes. The pancakes didn't need syrup but were not too sweet. Also got 2 sausage patties. The sausage had a bit of spice to them, but was happy with them. Waitress was on point and didn't let me run out of coffee. My only complains are the sausage patties were a little pricey, not open on Mondays and open at 7:00, but that is me just nitpicking. (My travels to the area are normally on Mondays, with a return before they are open.)
OPH is one of my favorite places to get a classic breakfast. They are a little pricier than your average diner, but the food is always consistent, hot and delicious. My mom and I both had Sausage patties and eggs , both were cooked well as we don't like runny eggs and love a little crisp on the sausage. We subbed the pancakes for Waffles (hers has pecans) and Hot Chocolate. The waffles are already very sweet so you don't really need hot chocolate if you're not into sweet foods We spent $60 after tip, again not cheap but great food and well cooked!

It was a long wait for a table of 8 on a Saturday, even when we got on the waitlist as soon as possible, it was a great place to go. Our server was super nice and the food and drinks came out very fast. I got the potato pancakes and was very happy with them.

I've been coming here for over 10 years, since they moved into that space. Not sure I've ever had a negative experience, in any way. But I made it in before peach season was over and it is truly my favorite time of the year Their peach Crepes are heaven. I always get the Dutch baby but peaches trump the DB. Our food was DELISH & our server was as sweet & efficient as can be. This food is not cheap and I understand people say it's breakfast food and consider it overpriced, but for me, I don't cook and eat out all the time, combined with the service and cozy atmosphere I think it's well worth the cost, my opinion. They have a great system and they stick to it. And it's a nice diverse crowd in there which I enjoy. Young old black white and everything in between. read more

Update: I can't speak enough good things about OPH!! Every year I come here I always love my experience--the wait staff is great and the food is quick and always delicious. This time I tried the savory crepe and it was sooooo good!! The hollandaise sauce on top was rich and it was filled with a mixture of eggs and protein. Will DEFINITELY eat it again! read more

This is one of the go two places that my St. Louis family takes visitors to eat when they are in town. We came in today for a breakfast prior to airport drop off, and it did not disappoint. I had a veggie omelette with egg whites. The omelettes come with pancakes. The most surprising thing about my breakfast was how fluffy the omelette was. It literally bounced when the server placed the plate on the table. My two little ones had a half order of brioche French toast, and a strawberry waffle. They really specialize in the breakfast breads here, so the pancakes, French toast, and waffle were all delicious. Our other family members also enjoyed their food. One of the best things about this place is that the food comes out extremely fast while also being hot, fresh, and well-made. They were popping on a Saturday morning, but we were able to be sat right away at 7 AM in the 7 AM hour. By the time we left around 8:30, there were people waiting for tables. read more

We highly recommend the Original Pancake House! They have delicious breakfast food like waffles, pancakes, dutch baby pancakes, skillets and more. They have very generous portion sizes so you can try lots of things if you go with a group of friends & family! read more
Super cute place with homey decor. They usually have a wait for larger parties but with just 2 we got seated immediately. I got the ham and scrambled eggs which was quite tasty and I upgraded the side of pancakes to blueberry pancakes and I recommend doing that! Service was pretty quick and amiable. I had some time to kill and decided that breakfast would be a great way to do so. Conveniently located near the grocery store, this place seemed like a great option. It was friendly and welcoming inside with the usual bustle of a breakfast shift. I sat at the countertop, which was nice since there was a long wait for a table, and being a single person, I appreciated the ability to skip the wait. It was busy, as it was the day after Christmas, but everyone was cheery nonetheless. I did not realize what a treat I was in for until I saw the menu. Wow! Some very tempting options! They have a fresh squeezed orange juice machine, which was to die for, not to mention, entertaining to watch. I went with the strawberry pancakes, which came with a homemade strawberry syrup that was amazing. I really wanna talk about the cakes themselves, though. They were extremely light and fluffy, not heavy. The standout quality, was the brown, crispy surface area of the pancakes. I was blown away!! Dare I say these were the best pancakes of my life? Yes, I dare. I WILL be back to make sure!! read more
I have visited a few of the other original pancake houses around the US and I was so excited to see there are not one but two in the St Louis area so I knew I needed to visit one at least on my trip home. As luck would have it My breakfast buddy had to cancel and so being close to lude iI knew I needed to stop in. Being just a few days before Christmas the crowds were out in full force but since I was dining alone the hostess offered me counter dining so I found a spot quickly and was greeted with a bright smile and an offering of coffee which I immediately agreed and a smile in return. I perused the menu and noticing they did not offer sourdough at this location as they did in others I decided I would choose the apple pancake which looked pretty sizable but I was up for a challenge. I also chose a side of well done bacon. As I waited I admired the artwork around the restaurant and watched as the servers scurried around helping the guests in the extremely crowded and happy restaurant. From the outside it doesn't look like this is a very large place but once you step in there is plenty of seating for everyone and yes as people get excited about their breakfast it gets loud so be prepared. Before I knew it my Apple pancake was set before me and let me tell you there should be a disclaimer saying this could feed a family of four lol. The smell of cinnamon fill the air and set my taste buds on full alert. This glorious pancake just made my entire day. The apples and cinnamon and pancake just made me so happy with my choice. The crispy bacon was absolute perfection. Now I only finished about a third of the pancake but they gave me a lovely aluminum foil container so I could heat it up later in the oven. My server was an absolute delight she kept my coffee hot and ready at all times and absolutely filled to the brim and when I left I was ready to come back again and again and again but sadly I had to go over to Illinois to stay with family but I will be back again soon. read more

We joined the waitlist before arriving, so we didn't wait long after we arrived. Our server was very nice and attentive. My husband had the biscuits and gravy, which he loved. I had strawberry pancakes which were nice too. Inside the restaurant reminded me of a larger mom and pops place. Overall I recommend you try it for yourself read more
Better than IHOP I dare to say! The pancakes are so fluffy and delicious! If you go before thanksgiving, they have seasonal items such as the pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes which are my favorite (trust me you want to try these even if you don't love pumpkin flavored foods or drinks)! I also got the southwestern steak skillet which was yummy too, especially with some hot sauce. We came on a Saturday so it was very busy even though it was raining outside. However, I added my party on the online waitlist and it went by pretty fast considering we started around 45th in the queue. The atmosphere is great as it feels cozy. Also, it is a very spacious restaurant so lots of indoor seating. Our server was amazing as she checked on us many times and was very welcoming and humorous. Super fast service, we were in and out within 45 minutes despite a long line. Pancakes were very good and there was a wide variety of menu options. Good for families on a Sunday morning. Fun rustic vibe on the inside of this location. read more

Hello, Wait list goes by the number of guest in line estimating your expected time to be seated. There is no reservation system available. Best bet add your name before leaving your home and try to arrive at estimated time quoted by Yelp app.
I cannot find how to get in line on my Yelp app like I am used to on the nowait app?
You should search the restaurant on the Yelp app, and there will be a blue button that says "Join the Waitlist." Hope that helps!
