In spite of the Toast app, we are seated. I really like the people here and the omelets are especially yummy! I knew it was going to be a problem when they changed how reservations are made and waitlists are "maintained" Well, I'm fairly certain that First Watch is pleased that The Original Pancake House has made this uninformed decision. Regular diners here should know the decision was not made in Missouri. Obviously! The staff the menu and the ambiance is not negatively affected. So, stick with your favorite choices. And let the staff know we understand. Brunch was excellent. Service was prompt. Very good choice for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! It's all as it should be in here.

This is my favorite breakfast restaurant everrrrr! I tried their new breakfast burrito and it was great. Even better because it came with pancakes. Just stopping by to upload pics and say I love OPH!

Amazing, attentive service. Super sweet staff. The line was insanely Long, but now i know you can put yourself on a wait list online ahead of time. The Apple pancake was divine. I cannot wait to return to try the Dutch baby. Super great, cozy Go-to breakfast diner.

Brunch here was oh so delicious and great value! The coffee here was really good for some reason, and so was the chocolate milk. The maple syrup is not real but you can ask for real maple syrup for a slight up charge. The scrambled eggs were pretty standard, but well cooked and moist. The turkey sausage was really flavorful as well. As for the pancakes, they come in huge portions and are so fluffy and delicious!! The chocolate chip ones were my favorite. So gooey and chocolatey. The bacon stuffed ones were good but I wish the bacon had been crispier or saltier to create more contrast with the pancakes.

Service The manager almost spoiled my dining experience. If it wasn't for our waiter saving the day. First we had to wait about 45mins to get a table. We had a party of 4 but manager wouldn't seat us until the 4th person came into the building. It's petty because each table seats 2, 4 & 6+ It didn't make sense. So if you're dining here and your party is sitting in the car or outside YOU WILL NOT BE SEATED UNTIL EVERYONE IS AT THE HOSTESS STATION, smh. Waiter Service Our waiter was Sam. I think he was one of the best waiters I've ever had at this restaurant. Sam had knowledge about all the new items on the menu. He made sure our dining experience was great. Food Our waiter Sam suggested the NEW Banana Bread Griddle Cakes because I love their Banana pancakes. The Banana Bread Cakes came with caramel sauce but I love their Tropical syrup. I did try a small amount of caramel sauce and it tasted homemade, very good. The Cakes were fluffy with slightly crispy edges. The texture is dense almost like pound cake. The flavor is slightly sweet but not overly sweet like cake. I felt like it was missing one ingredient maybe the caramel sauce was the missing ingredient. There's no banana on the inside like the original banana pancakes. It's like banana bread. The Banana Griddle Cakes is a one & done for me. I love the original banana pancakes. The Spinach Feta Omelette & Banana pancakes is my go to order every time. The last couple of times I ordered the omelette I noticed their using a smaller amount of ingredients but it's still yummy.

I've come to this location a few times and I always receive excellent service. I also try to bring friends and family because I love the food and service so much. It can be a little loud, but it's fun to be there.

I arrived around 11am on a Saturday morning around 10:55am It was BUSY! I messed up and didn't see I could've joined the waitlist from my hotel. I was 48th in line with my party of 3 with an estimated wait of an hour. This was recommended by front desk manager at my hotel and my Lyft driver hyped them up though. During the wait, we went to the nearby shopping center to kill time and bought some things. Table was ready at 12:15pm. We ordered at the 12:21pm. Liz was our waitress. I got the bacon lovers breakfast (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and 3 pancakes). One son for the chorizo and pepper jack omelette; the other got pecan waffle, a side of sausage patties, and hot cocoa. The food came at 12:32, which was so quick! Honestly, everything was delicious and you get your money's worth! While the bacon was nice and thick, I wished it was a bit more crispy. My teen son, who was very impatient and didn't want to wait, said "This was definitely worth the wait" after he finished eating. My tween son gave it a 5/5! It's definitely family style as I saw many groups! Very inviting atmosphere.

Unfortunately it had been a few years since I've been able to come back here but it is as good as I remember. Got the buckwheat with blueberries. A regular stack was (6) 6-inch cakes. The pancakes didn't need syrup but were not too sweet. Also got 2 sausage patties. The sausage had a bit of spice to them, but was happy with them. Waitress was on point and didn't let me run out of coffee. My only complains are the sausage patties were a little pricey, not open on Mondays and open at 7:00, but that is me just nitpicking. (My travels to the area are normally on Mondays, with a return before they are open.)

OPH is one of my favorite places to get a classic breakfast. They are a little pricier than your average diner, but the food is always consistent, hot and delicious. My mom and I both had Sausage patties and eggs , both were cooked well as we don't like runny eggs and love a little crisp on the sausage. We subbed the pancakes for Waffles (hers has pecans) and Hot Chocolate. The waffles are already very sweet so you don't really need hot chocolate if you're not into sweet foods We spent $60 after tip, again not cheap but great food and well cooked!

It was a long wait for a table of 8 on a Saturday, even when we got on the waitlist as soon as possible, it was a great place to go. Our server was super nice and the food and drinks came out very fast. I got the potato pancakes and was very happy with them.

We highly recommend the Original Pancake House! They have delicious breakfast food like waffles, pancakes, dutch baby pancakes, skillets and more. They have very generous portion sizes so you can try lots of things if you go with a group of friends & family!

Super cute place with homey decor. They usually have a wait for larger parties but with just 2 we got seated immediately. I got the ham and scrambled eggs which was quite tasty and I upgraded the side of pancakes to blueberry pancakes and I recommend doing that! Service was pretty quick and amiable. Honestly this place surpassed my expectations!

Ask the Community - The Original Pancake House

    Do they take online/carryout orders?

Yes, but if they are super busy they will not

Is there any vegan options available, if not then what all are vegetarian options?

NO!!! there are no vegan options the closest you can get is maybe vegetarian.

How do reserve a specific time on the waitlist for my party?

Hello, Wait list goes by the number of guest in line estimating your expected time to be seated. There is no reservation system available. Best bet add your name before leaving your home and try to arrive at estimated time quoted by Yelp app.

Do they do anything for birthdays?

    Yes they do. It's surprising.

I cannot find how to get in line on my Yelp app like I am used to on the nowait app?

You should search the restaurant on the Yelp app, and there will be a blue button that says "Join the Waitlist." Hope that helps!

How do I get on the waitlist through yelp?

In reference to a previous answer, no wait was bought by Yelp and they are now fully integrated on yelp.

A reasonably-sized (not-overwhelming) menu, great coffee, delicious cocktails, quick, attentive service, and undeniably delicous food. Phenomenal flavors and textures. Toast is typically an afterthought for me, but the buttery crunch of the sourdough has to be spotlighted. The Bee's Knees cocktail was also a wonderfully refreshing prelude to the approaching STL summer. The time has come, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say: wake up, reserve, enjoy.

I was very excited to try them but left knowing I would not return. I waited 40 minutes on a weekday morning for a bar seat for one, standing because all the waiting area seats were taken. The hostess/waitress was very nice when she got to me, but you could tell that the amount of customers was simply too much to handle. Now, this was okay - I should have made a reservation, and it's not the staff's fault they were overwhelmed. However, the service once I sat down was patchy, delayed and distracted. I had to remind different servers of my presence, multiple times. I was willing to overlook this if the food had been fantastic, but unfortunately, their most popular item, the combo breakfast sandwich, was so incredibly heavy. The first bite was crispy, oily and fatty deliciousness, but by the third bite it was simply too rich. The sweet overtone of the honey was lovely but did not cut through the grease. By the time I finished half, I understood why several diners had left the other half uneaten. My personal preference is for a fresh, umami yet balanced sandwich that does not make me feel queasy after finishing it. This was not the sandwich for me. There was a long delay after I finished eating for them to bring me the check. My whole meal took around 2.5 hours. I had arrived starving and, I like to think, with an open mind. These are my honest, unfiltered observations. It is wonderful that so many people want to try their food and that their new space is bigger. Their decor, glassware and menu were cute and tasteful. I also love that they grew from a farmers market food stall and that they source their ingredients locally. With their level of popularity, I think they should focus on preserving the quality of their service and food.

The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
