This was my first time to First Watch, but it won't be my last. First Watch in Tampa absolutely nailed it. The standout for me was the avocado toast with the Million Dollar Bacon. The bacon had the perfect balance of sweet and salty and paired incredibly well with the fresh avocado. Every bite was spot on. Everything else we ordered was fantastic too. The Elevated Egg Sandwich was flavorful and satisfying, the potatoes were crispy and well seasoned, and the mimosas were the perfect brunch companion. Great food, great experience. Huge portions and delicious food. Their care with food allergies impressed me most of all. Our super kind server even wrote the allergies down! They provided a whole ingredients menu to compare to the food we were thinking of ordering, the effort was so refreshing. I have known this chain from North Carolina and was actually very happy to learn of its existence in Tampa. Particularly after two highly rated coffee shops turned out to either just be a bank cafeteria or simply not exist. But here, the service was forthcoming, the food very nice with some pancakes, and a superfood chia bowl. Perfect prior to heading to the airport. read more

Let me tell y'all something!!!!!! Soooooooo good! It was simple, cute, friendly, fast, and accurate -- everything you want in a spot. Food? Perfect. I literally wanted to come back the very next day. I ordered the breakfast enchiladas, fruit, and coffee. Big brownie points because their fruit salad didn't just have melon (I'm allergic). First Watch is usually a fairly reliable chain and I love how large and accommodating their menu is! I came here for brunch with some friends on a Sunday morning. We put our names down and walked around the area to get coffee while we waited. This location is pretty big and spacious but it was busy!! Once we were seated, we ordered our food. I got the Farmhouse hash. The food was delicious and it was a good portion and very light! Unfortunately, our waitress seemed to disappear once we received our food. One of our party had to get up to find someone to check us out once we finished because our waitress seemingly ended her shift or just forgot about our table and never checked on us! Finally got to eat at a First Watch. Went with a couple of friends who have one near them. Sounds like the decor here is very different, though both are quaint. I loved the industrial mixer whisks they use for some of the pendant lights. Food was delicious. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. Had been debating those, banana granola crunch pancakes, or carrot cake pancakes. These were delicious - they had a little bit of a crispy edge (my favorite) and were soft and fluffy inside. I loved that they served them with a warmed syrup. The million dollar bacon was amazing. Just the right balance of sweet and heat. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. I came during lunch during the work week with a large group and they were able to accommodate all of us. Our server was amazing, super attentive and funny. For lunch I had the half and half with a salad and soup. I love being able to try both and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food for the price. I loved the honey pecan salad! read more

We like First Watch a lot but this experience was not great. My son and I went during lunch time but it was closer to 1pm. It did look like the kitchen was behind orders because while the dining room had customers, it was not super packed. There were some people waiting to be seated and some people had carry out orders but again, it wasn't super packed. So as you can tell due to this tone of this review, the service was not great. We decided to sit at the community table and we waited, waited and got served. Then we waited, waited and waited to get our food - probably a good 15-20 minutes for kids eggs and chorizo breakfast tacos (which are always good - nice balance of chorizo and eggs) and the coffee was good!!!!!! Thank goodness we got a coloring menu so my son can be occupied. Parking is limited but it's available. We'll just chalk it up to an off day. read more

This is such a gem in tampa Florida. First watch is just overall a great vibeeee!!! Service this Sunday was a little busier joined the waitlist and never got off it ended up enjoying a seat at their community table. Service was so peaceful my server deserves all the praise she was patient, kind & honest. I decided to try the "cereal milk" it is made with my favorite drank (; it was delicious after two smooth cinnamon rich drinks I didn't need another. I got the French Toast with a side of turkey sausage -- both were delicious (though I was sad that the French toast didn't come with berries as some of the pictures on Yelp showed). Our server was friendly when taking our order, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but the server never came back to check in on us or refill drinks until she brought the check after we finished our meals. Would happily go back for more food, and feel like this could easily go to a five-star review with slightly more attentive service. read more

The worst service of any location for this franchise. They straight up try to kick you out. At other locations they usually bring you water when you order a drink. My server didn't bring one until I was done with my kale tonic and did not bring any refills. When I was on my last bite of my food the server snatched my plate and dropped the check with my mouth full. She said there was "no rush" but she was clearly in one and she never came back. That happens all the time at this location though. The servers here have mediocre service and try to close your check as soon as possible. Last time I was here I wanted another drink, never received condiments for my food, and the lady brought me a check was shocked when I actually wanted her to do her job and bring me what I asked for with my food. Imagine that! They want a 20% tip though? Get real! This location is going to fail. read more

We came here on a whim. It was down the street from our hotel. I had the Banana Brittle french toast. It was amazing! It has a creamy sauce drizzled, banana slices, blueberries, and a whipped butter topping. The challah bread was light and airy. My son and sister had the trifecta breakfast which they both said that they enjoyed. My sister had the chicken apple sausage with her meal and she said that it was quite good. My wife had the chorizo omelette which she really liked. She said that the potatoes were a bit hard. She also has the salted caramel crunch iced coffee. It was sweet, creamy, and refreshing. I visited the Downtown location with several colleagues for brunch and was somewhat disappointed. Generally, I have positive experiences at various locations, but today fell short on multiple fronts. On a positive note, the location is ideal for the downtown area and conveniently within walking distance from my office, alleviating the hassle of downtown parking. Additionally, the wait time was minimal, and we were seated almost immediately after checking in with the hostess. However, there was a delay in our server approaching our table to greet us and take our orders. I opted to try something different from my usual choice of the Tri-fecta and decided on the chimichurri steak and eggs hash. As a picky eater, I needed to make a few modifications to my order, which seemed to create some confusion in the kitchen, resulting in three attempts before it was prepared correctly. The dish is very hearty, featuring seared steak, spinach, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, diced red bell peppers, and onions in a potato hash, topped with two eggs cooked to my preference, crumbled Feta cheese, house-pickled sweet peppers, roasted garlic aioli, and a drizzle of chimichurri sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly and I loved the combination of the garlic aioli and chimichurri sauce with the potato hash. The ambiance and decor is a nice presentation of Tampa, showcasing painted murals and various farm-style artifacts. read more

I like that they have lots of healthy options on the menu and also some not so healthy options, haha! so they can cater to whatever mood or point in your life you are in! some of my favorite dishes there involve avocado, as I have observed they are always ripened just right...something you don't always see out and about at restaurants in my opinion. one thing that I wish was more consistent is the service at first watch, sometimes it's the best service ever and sometimes the worst, with me having to go all karen and flagging down another server bc i'm out of water and about to choke on my food because I don't chew enough (that's a me problem I know ha). anyway, it's still worth going and one of our go-tos despite this occasional service situation. read more

I have had good experience at the Henderson st location. However, the west shore location is pitiful. A server took our order, 30 minutes and not even water. another server came to take our order and we were told the previous server left home. my son order pancakes and they brought the pancakes and 10 minutes later brought the syrup. Another time a homeless man with his zipper down was standing by the counter and a server told me he was harmless. Another time they brought me the wrong order. Evrytime there is an issue.
