First I have eaten here a few times and can say the food is very good. I always enjoy the food. I am not a fan of their coffee, but that is my tastes. I really like the atmosphere and the staff normally here is amazing. This trip was a little odd, it wasn't bad, but it was odd enough that both myself and my lunch partner commented about it several times. It was more of a funny (the 4 stars by the way is I really don't like their coffee, and the water cups are so small... yep a wee picky today). So the person that was seating us took us to our table and said our server would be right with us, "Good Luck". Ummm what was that I just heard... Good Luck... odd do I need luck to get service or was that good luck the food would or might be edible? We laughed it off, but it was odd and funny at the same time. So when I payed the bill I said "Good Luck"... we laughed as we walked out. This in no way effects my opinion of First Watch or the quality of the food or my review. I thought it was funny. FirstWatch is a good breakfast/brunch spot. I really like that they have your hearty breakfast favorites as well as healthy options. At this location the staff is very friendly and helpful. I came to breakfast with my 7 month old daughter. It was great mommy and daughter quality time. I ordered the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl and I ordered her a side of Grits. She really enjoys Grits. The Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl is protein-packed quinoa mixed with kale, shredded carrots and house-roasted tomatoes topped with grilled all-natural lemon chicken breast, basil pesto sauce, feta crumbles and fresh herbs. This bowl is very good and a great healthy option. All the ingredients work well together to provide a hearty but healthy breakfast. I really enjoy this bowl and order it most of the time when I come to FirstWatch. The Grits are served plain with Butter. I asked for the butter on the side. I put a pinch of butter in her Grits mixed with salt and pepper. She really enjoyed her breakfast and ate most of the bowl. The Grits were actually pretty good. Overall, First Watch is a quick but good breakfast/brunch option. I really like that it has healthy options. Yes traditional breakfast is always good but it's nice to have other options that aren't so heavy. Definitely try First Watch and this location. You will not be disappointed. read more

A bit more upscale than say Denny's with a corresponding up charge. They have a larger menu with traditional breakfast items and some more sophisticated versions like the million dollar bacon and the braised short rib eggs Benedict. The food is solid, everyone in my party enjoyed their dishes but nothing stood out as amazing. The restaurant was packed with a crowd waiting outside. There are some tables out side and with a nice morning in the 70's they were occupied. I don't know if they take reservations but my daughter called in, maybe to get on the wait list, so our wait was very short (5-10 minutes). There is complimentary water and coffee for those waiting, but the coffee pot was out and hadn't been refilled. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. Maybe because our group was a little larger they set out a water pitcher and a carafe of coffee on out table. Several in our group got the same dish, the trio something or other, and they messed up all their orders, like scrambled eggs instead of eggs over easy and a pancake instead of a waffle. Don't know who messed up. It's not a big deal for me but those at my table wanted their order to be perfect. Our waitress was very nice and apologetic about the mix up and comp'd our drinks. No organization to seating the tables. Several people were seated before us and there is a small waiting area so it was difficult to get the attention of the hostess. My son's food looked to be prepared well (pancakes and bacon) but mine was just awful. No taste whatever in the Trailblazer bowl- roasted turkey had a weird after taste so I stopped eating it. Roasted sweet potatoes were partially cooked -still had some that were no thoroughly done. I received a pot of coffee which was great but it tasted like straight up hot water. Quick Tip: use the No Wait feature while you are on your way to the restaurant. There were some people who had been waiting there and we walked in, informed them we were there, waited about 5 minutes, and was seated. Could definitely tell that people were giving us looks as we walked by. I enjoyed the Chickichanga. It was delicious and very filling. This was our first trip to First Watch, but we will definitely be going back. Everything was delicious. We each started out with fresh juices. The best in our opinion was the Kale Tonic with fresh kale & apple juice. Next best was the seasonal Morning Meditation with orange, lemon, and beet with a nice kick of ginger. It looks like a tequila sunrise. The Day Glow with carrot juice was just ok. Although the juice sizes are large, and I like starting off the day with fresh juice like that, they are kind of expensive. My avocado toast with braised eggs was wonderful-- an ample supply of freshly whipped avocado & cilantro on thickly sliced wheat toast. I added a side of chilled smoked salmon to put on the toast. My daughter got the traditional eggs & bacon, and the bacon was perfect-- thick cut, crispy, and a healthy portion. My son liked his pesto chicken quinoa bowl. Overall, this was a great experience! Our server was friendly and fast, and the food was delicious. It was not busy when we went which was surprising for a first watch. The only negative of this experience is that we sat right by the kitchen, and someone had set a laptop on top of clean silverware and was working on it as we ate. Huge fan of First Watch. Their food is high quality. I've been a few times and I've never been disappointed. I usually get the Skillet Hash, Farmhouse edition. It's a mixture of eggs, seasoned potatoes, avocado, tomatoes, onions, bacon and cheese. It also comes with toast and a small side of mixed fruit. It's a pretty big portion size too and it's relatively cheap. This last time I went I tried their famous avocado toast for the first time and it was amazing. Huge chunks of avocado on very good bread. The thing I like most about First Watch is that their ingredients are always very fresh and they use a lot of local ingredients. Was it 4 or 5 stars?? Was it food or service, No since both were great. So why then the indecision? I left a $60 Yeti tumbler there the other day and after realizing it called the store looking for it. I was told it was not there. I thought more and more and was sure I left it there so I drove there and called again now being told they are making another attempt to find it. When I get there I am told it is in route. It was found and was being brought back to the store. So yes, I was upset it was taken. But I had to be happier the store located it and made sure it found its way home. And when I went back to retrieve it it was handed to me with a free coffee fill up inside and was told they new it should never have gone on a walk about and that was being addressed. I have eaten at a First Watch before, but I was really disappointed in this visit/location. We waited 10 minutes to be seated when we arrived; only 4 other tables were full at the time, and as we waited we listened to the manager talk about his personal issues with the kitchen staff & complain about corporate. Our waitress was more reminiscent of a drill Sargent than a hospitable server. Her responses were canned - "Do you have a gluten free menu available? The annoying answer is it's available online, the short answer is that everything is made from scratch & our kitchen staff can make most anything gluten free that you'd like." "Is your sausage turkey sausage? I'm going to answer your question two ways. One, yes. Two, it can be made that way for you, so yes." And so on. We listened to her answer other tables in the exact same fashion. Very abrupt and to the point in every encounter. So we ordered and sure enough, after looking online the hash dish was not listed as gluten free, despite her assurances that it was. The online menu does not list the ingredients or what component is non-gf/how to modify a dish, So we revised our order to be sure we would not get sick, which she appeared annoyed over. The food was mediocre. The farm stand breakfast tacos were way over seasoned IMHO & the coffee was horrid. We were given our bill to take to the counter and again wait. There was no asking how our meal was, thanking us for coming in, etc. Our check was rung in and she set the printed credit card receipt on the counter with a pen and our card and literally walked away- no smile, salutation, nothing. $35 later we left with a less-than-favorable impression and headed to the nearby Starbucks for some better coffee to take on the road. The bathrooms were dirty - hard water stains in the toilet and food on the floor and walls despite arriving less than an hour after opening. The merchandise stock near the register was out & there was no complimentary coffee made for the coffee stand. The decor and concept of First Watch I love - rustic, fresh, & locally sourced. But the delivery at this location was way off the mark. Poor management and training with staff that have lost sight of the purpose of the hospitality industry. We will not be back again. read more

With the in-laws hours away from my flight, with my boyfriend, back to California (born and raised) where brunch, on the west coast, is a must any day of the week -- so I can be a little picky. First Watch was a pleasant surprise! They promote super healthy options (while still keeping the sugar option available for us "sweet tooths" - I just love waffles/pancakes/french toast). "Cholesterol-free eggs or egg whites may be substituted at any time for no additional charge. Special requests are gladly accepted". How awesome is that!?! Their menu has so many options, there really is something for everyone. You can't go wrong. Even a GLUTEN FREE option and low-carb... Get out! But you have to go before 4 (if I remember correctly) because they are a breakfast/lunch place. Our server was a super positive, helpful and nice guy. Wish I knew his name so I could give him a shout out. Someone you definitely want working for you at a place like First Watch. Unfortunately I can't eat a huge dose of eggs (I get a sick) so the closest thing I can do is french toast. I got "Floridian French Toast®. Sourdough French toast, with wheat germ and powdered cinnamon sugar, covered with fresh bananas, kiwi and berries". The amount and freshness/ripeness of the fruit was so exciting and a progressive thing for Ohio! My boyfriend got to build his own super healthy omelet and was VERY pleased. Staff does not check up on the order even when you ask after waiting for 20 minutes after expected time. The staff takes no initiative to seat people or check them out. I love this place and the menu. Visiting Cincinnati for the first time, I loved coming here for brunch. Since this is a popular spot among the locals, the wait here could be anywhere from 5-30minutes. But the wait is so worth it as the food is delicious. They have many options for vegetarians as well. Very poor service on7/28/23 a 11AM. Husband ordered French Toast, order of bacon, coffee. He received 2 FT, 4 bacon, water, and crock of coffee total for him $10+$3,60+$5.60. I ordered the same thing but had hot tea and grits and ordered powdered sugar 3 times and never got. I rec 1FT cold, 2 bacon cold, cold yellow grits. I was charged $11.75 for something I didn't order, $3.60 for tea, 7.75 for 1 pc of FT and another charge for a kid's FT $5.75. I'm assuming the $11.75 was for the cold grits. And the 2 pc for bacon was approximately $7.00. Total bill was $59.00 +. I asked why i rec 2 bacon and 1 FT. Answer was i was trying to save me money. I asked for another pc of FT and 2 more bacon. 20 minutes later came the cold pc of FT and 2 cold pcs of bacon. Again i asked for powered sugar and she looked at me like I was asking for the world and she never brought it. She was avoiding out table and had the manager drop the check. I showed her and she apologized and fixed the check. The new check was $48. Waitress with an attitude big time! Then the cashier left in the middle of my cc machine payment aNCnd I left no tip, of course. and no receipt. I'm fairly certain I had the amounts right. Very dissatisfied with food, service and management. I should have had a free meal. I will not return and will spread the news. What happened to First Watch is beyond me. The server needs to find something that suits her and get the cow ring out of her nose and the booger to boot. Our waitress was extremely rude the entire time we were there- she was the one with short hair and a big fake diamond. The waitress helping her deliver our food hit my 8 year old daughter in the head with a plate. Our rude waitress brought our check within two minutes of receiving our food. Then, we were brought masks and asked to put them on, while seated and while one person in our party was still eating. I will never go back and I hope they go out of business. Other outings in public with toddler All of the above come with one major risk: **Toddler meltdown** Unfortunately, our first visit to First Watch also became our toddler's very first, very public and very "scenic" meltdown spectacular. Yet, our food was still a full 5 stars! That is because First Watch serves some exceptionally fresh and tasty breakfast and brunch items that can be unexpectedly healthy. We especially liked their kale juice that tasted hardly bitter in the typical kale fashion (as one of my colleagues puts it, there's a reason for kale to rhyme with hell). In addition, their omelettes can be customized using a large variety of proteins, such as turkey sausage, and veggies, and egg white substitute. Their in-house fruit preserves are fresh, fruity, and not cloyingly sweet. Their service is fast and friendly, as well. Although our first visit there was cut short by our toddler meltdown, we went back again in our own just for the food. Their manager remembered us (for better or worse), and sympathetically related to us that he experienced something similar with his own toddler. In any case, this is a great breakfast and lunch spot. The only downside is that there tends to be a lot of people meeting there for business needs, so that takes away from some family-oriented atmosphere.
