This place was terrific! The coffee was perfect and the service was fast and friendly! As an appetizer, the Million Dollar Bacon set my expectations high! It was an excellent blend of sweet and savory. I wanted to indulge so I ordered eggs Benedict with potatoes and a carrot cake pancake. Everything was cooked well and the flavors had me eating well beyond my capacity because I didn't want to stop tasting all that goodness! My husband and I went to this First Watch today. Excellent! From the time that we walked through the door, the greeter was attentive, and kind. But the best experience was from our waitress Katie. Kudos to Katie, after we were seated, she came directly to us with a smile, greeted us, and served the drinks immediatley. A few minutes later, (It was very busy) she came back and took our order. We waited for about 10 minutes and our food was out to us, fresh, hot and plated very well. Katie made sure that we were happy with our food. We were seated right away and our server was friendly, albeit a little rush-y. She seemed anxious to take our order even though the place was only about half full. I got the traditional breakfast (eggs, turkey sausage, home fries, toast). Eggs were cooked perfectly (over easy). Turkey sausage was browned well. Home fries. Ah, the home fries. These needed salt, pepper and a good dose of hot sauce. They were also undercooked. The toast was okay - nothing memorable. Maybe I should have stuck with the biscuit this breakfast normally comes with. The coffee was $2.29 - which seemed a little steep for how often we got refills. Not only was the food subpar and clearly did not meet my expectations (it's brunch... just give me some yummy food - simple or complex, whatever - give it!), but the establishment itself was very blah. Let's do this in bullet points before this turns into a tl;dr. - The establishment was so noisy that the waitress didn't understand part of our order and we were served the wrong drinks. She took it back and never came back with the right ones. - The decor was lacking. It was a boring atmosphere. - For a sunny day out, it was sort of dark inside. - The egg whites were rubbery. always consistently good. my favorite First Watch is in TriCounty because of the diversity and friendly staff there. newly remodeled to be more country and "natural " - either format worked for me but a nice refresh portions are moderate which is probably good. seasonal items such squash soup are often good. my favorites are their potatoes, skillets, quinoa power Bowles, and multi-grain bread. I love First Watch. This is about the 5th location I have been to, and all serve great food. If you have food allergies, they are very careful to prepare food that is suitable for you to eat. They offer a variety of season dishes, and the quinoa bowls are great. You can go bad and order something unhealthy (hello breakfast burrito) or go light and still enjoy a really great meal. Coffee in the waiting area for guests, and to-go cups for any pop or coffee orders at the table. The veggie burger is a particular favorite of mine, and the salad with the poppyseed dressing on the side is fabulous! read more

Just ok. We had two orders. My wife had the Bacado and I had the seasonal pumpkin pancakes and eggs. We noticed our meals were taken a while to come out. When delivered, my wife's was cold. It had obviously sat out a while. Mine was warm at least but the pancakes were gooey. The waitress did check back about halfway through our meals and offered to redo my wife's meal but she was so hungry she had dug into the cool plate of food anyway When asked, I mentioned to the girl at checkout that one of our plates was cold, she said he hoped it was better next time. Fun place. Yes it's another "breakfast & lunch " place but a good dependable place. Food was very good. Try the French Toast. Thumbs up! Menu was just off the beaten path to make it non-typical. This is the second time at this particular First Watch restaurant. The food was good, but we were being pressured to hurry up and leave. True, there were folks waiting, but my wife was still chewing on a bite of pancake when the waitress actually asked if she could take away her plate (with a lot of pancake still on it). I may give them another chance, but it will be a while. As far as the food, I had the Acapulco omelet. If you like spicy, this is a great choice. My wife had the blueberry pancakes. I ALWAYS order the Sunrise Yogurt Parfait-- filling with fruit and hearty granola. Plus, their juices are the bomb. We ordered the roast beef and Havarti sandwich, tomato basil soup and Cobb salad. When was the last time you saw Havarti cheese and arugula on a sandwich? The sandwich is served with horseradish and grilled. The Cobb salad had fresh, crisp greens, chopped hard cooked egg, bacon, turkey, tomato, blue cheese and avocado with ranch dressing. I've loved First Watch for years. Usually they are forward thinking and very helpful to those of us with food allergies which is why I'm giving them two stars instead of one. Today the West Chester location did not deliver the high quality food and safety I'm used to. We placed an online order. In the special instructions I put "no toast because I'm gluten free." My fiancé did the pick up. He returned home and I asked where my meal was because the one that looked like mine was completely covered with a piece of toast. I called. They told me it was gluten free toast. They thought "no toast" meant I wanted gluten free toast. Um, no. It meant no toast. Then the manager (the person who answered asked me to talk to a manager) told me their GF toast goes in the same toaster as regular bread. I ate the side of potatoes I ordered (packaged without toast) and they were ice cold. I've never been so disappointed in First Watch. read more

Blissfully bland. You can't ever be mad at a nice, clean breakfast joint. First Watch is no exception in this regard. They've got multiple locations in good places and you can expect a good product. In fact, there is definitely something to be said about their consistency. I went pretty vanilla with the omelet that I requested. The pancakes were a good size and fluffy as-they-could-be. The service was fine and the food came pretty quickly. Normally, this is great. But for a breakfast experience, I don't know... maybe I'm asking for too much. I wasn't wowed (should I have been in the first place?) and I wasn't blown away either. I satiated. It was a nice breakfast. It's good for what you want, just not enough to make me a fan for any reason. But I could see it be fan-worthy if you're a fanatic for breakfast food. read more

The other day, I was out in West Chester about to go to Ikea, but unfortunately I was also extremely hungover. (I know, who goes to IKEA when hungover??) But anyway, I realized that to make this trip more bareable, I needed to eat something. We settled on First Watch because Sunday's are for brunch. Upon arrival, we were informed the wait was going to be 20 minutes. Pretty standard for a Sunday morning. But the coffee they had was nasty and there were screaming babies. Did I mention I was hungover? When we were seated, they brought us menus but then the server ignored us for quite some time before asking if we wanted to order. Um, no we just wanted to come look at the pretty decor. Both my friend and I decided to order sandwiches. My friend reported that his tuna was dry and my turkey grilled sandwich was soggy and gross.
