Unfortunately the food and service at First Watch is going downhill :( We regret not talking to the manager after our experience at brunch yesterday (a Wednesday). 10 of us came in after working out around 11am. The restaurant only had a few tables filled and was relatively quiet. We sat down at the long high table and waited about 15 minutes for our waitress to (reluctantly) come over to our table. We were all ready to order but she took only half of our tables order before putting it in for the kitchen to work on (which lead to only half of our table to get food about 20 minutes before the other half). We had to ask for everything multiple times including water, utensils, and the tea and juices that we ordered (which came out after our meals). The waitress and woman running out the food made us feel like we were bothering them anytime we asked for a basic dining need such as the utensils. Next time (if there is a next time which is doubtful) we'll come prepared with our own utensils, water, and tin foil to keep our food warm while we wait for our friends food to come out lol. And I cannot forget to mention the pancakes were burnt and the eggs were cold. Would not recommend to a friend, not worth the struggle anymore. read more

On the basis of food alone, this would be 4 or even 5 stars, but there were some issues. The place is new in this location. I hope these issues will be worked out and I can give a better review. So here are the positives, the negatives and the neutrals. A good greeting from a friendly staff was a good start. We found the booth a bit narrow so they showed us to a table. We only discovered ten minutes or so on that if you are facing the windows, at certain times of day, the sun glares off the windshields of cars parked facing the window right into your eyes. We had the Market Veggie sandwich and Chicken Melt open face sandwich, both on a very seedy, slightly sweet bread. The food came promptly, was well prepared and was very, very good. A spring greens salad with a not-too-sweet, not-too-acidic vinaigrette came with it. I found their coffee a bit bitter for my taste and was a bit unhappy about the chemically-preserved UHT half-and-half that came with it. (I probably should have asked for milk.) And now the reason for the three stars: we were barely halfway done our food when the server delivered the check. He did ask -- after having put the check on the table -- if we wanted anything else. We might have, but not until after we were done with the sandwiches. I asked him for a box to take home half of my sandwich. We then saw no more of this server and when my wife decided to take away part of her lunch I had to flag down another server for another box. Oh yes, and they did one of my least-favorite restaurant things: taking away empty plates from one diner while another is still eating. And it was *N*O*I*S*Y* -- even though less than half full. This is a real problem for us. But for these two things, I might actually have squeezed out another star for them. (BTW. Breakfast and lunch only. They close mid-afternoon. Also, the parking lot, shared with two other eating places is much too small.) read more

Our first time experience at First Watch wasn't the greatest. It took at least 45 mins before getting our food. During this time no waiters came by to check in with us. People at another table got tired of waiting & left. We were just about to do the same when waiter came by to apologize. Finally our food arrived, biscuit & grave w/ turkey sausage and eggs florentine benedict. Food was acceptable & good. Hope they workout the kinks in kitchen for faster delivery. Almost every time we are in Philly we go to First Watch for breakfast or brunch. Our trip today was awesome as usual. From the Avocado toast to the Parma hash and every other dish we had, the whole family loved every bite. Oh the coffee is also fantastic. read more

I received the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant here while dining with my friends a couples weeks ago. I originally wrote a long review right after our meal but it was deleted before I got to post it. Long story short we waited for our table for an hour when promised a 25 min wait, because the host put us down as a party of 9 instead of a party of 3. Once we were seated our waitress took an abnormally long time to get to our table, never brought us water once, and commented on meals we ordered. She acted very strange toward our table, using an odd voice, and then acted a completely different way to the table next to us. read more

One word - horrid. In fact, it so was poor that I was compelled to leave my first ever yelp review just to voice my displeasure. My fiancee and I were excited to give the new brunch/lunch joint, located conveniently down the street from us, a try. Unfortunately, our initial intrigue was the only positive thing about the experience. Although the restaurant was not busy when we arrived, we waited 10-15 minutes for a waitress to come over to our table after we were seated. This was followed by another 10-15 minutes waiting for her to bring over water - curious, since we could see her standing around doing absolutely nothing of substance the majority of that time. Eventually, about 40 minutes into our visit, our food arrived...at which time the waitress let us know that that the eggs that were to accompany my dish were not ready yet. That was an interesting development considering that my meal was ice cold. Silver lining? When the eggs arrived 10 minutes later, they were actually hot. Thank goodness for small favors. That brings us to my fiancee's salad. The chicken included therein was the antithesis of fresh. It was processed, rubbery, and appeared to derive from one of those pre-cooked packages you purchase at the grocery store. She found it effectively inedible. Not a soul inquired as to our satisfaction with our meal. I seriously doubt we'll ever darken First Watch's doorstep again; stick to Sabrina's across the street, they actually provide quality service and food. read more

If you think The "fresh squeezed orange juice" means they cut an orange in half and juice it, think again. It's regular old Tropicana type juice. I was dying for real fresh squeezed orange juice. Have only eaten breakfast at this establishment and it never fails to please. Fresh, delicious food and juices. Love that real maple syrup is an option. Get the Kale tonic and add a shot of fresh ginger. Yeah! Gets ya going! My only suggestion for improvement is the coffee. They have their own special brew but it is as weak as lousy, diner coffee. Waiter never came by to check on us, sat for 30 minutes before waiter came by to take our order, food orders came out wrong or cold, and manager was unapologetic for the poor service. Came in for dinner with my girlfirend tried this place for the first time. They were very busy which is a good sign, terms of food this place was just okay the service was great they sit you pretty quick and the wait is not long. I ordered Trifecta. My order is always wrong, I was served undercooked sausage and told that is they way it is supposed to be cooked. The service is terrible every single time I am forced to go there. This was my second time coming within a month and this time I was not satisfied. The food was not prepared the same way. The million dollar bacon was burned to a crisp and the waitress tried to pass it off to me. Love this place - we try to come every weekend for brunch - the food is fresh, inventive, and they cook their eggs perfectly. The Avocado Toast is to die for and their coffee is delish. I love the neighborhood feel and that we see friends every time we come. The staff when you check in is super friendly and organized, and yes, some of the wait staff are young and a bit green, but they are eager and willing and always pleasant. Visited the new location in abington across the road from tj max in the strip ctr with quest blood tests. Frankly i like homey diner food breakfasts. This was not that. I found the menu both limited, pricey, and pretentious. The place was busy with a large open floor plan (NOT cozy private). Ordered scrambled eggs. Size wise the 2 eggs must have been harvested from pigeons. Bread was good, potatoes nothing to write home about. Service was pleasant but minimal. read more

LOVE this place! I usually only yelp if I really love a place or if I really hate a place lol. This was my first time at first watch and it's amazing. I got the carrot cake pancake, along with the farmhouse hash. The farmhouse hash has potatoes, avocado, 2 cage free eggs (style is your choice), cheese, onions, I added red pepper to mine, and bacon. This dish was delicious, and extremely filling. It comes with two loaves of toast with butter and jelly on the side. My carrot cake pancake was also very good, keep in mind they're very huge so one is enough. It tasted just like carrot cake lol. My friend and I also shared the biscuits and gravy side dish as an appetizer and that was also yummmmmmmy! It came with two huge biscuits drenched in savory gravy. Overall, I rate this place 5 stars. Very family friendly environment, a little on the noisy side but not overbearing where you have to shout to be heard. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!!! read more

We are finally cleaned up and back to normal after the nor'easter and I wanted to say thank you to First Watch for being open when we didn't have power in Wynnewood just a few blocks away. I'm a huge fan of brunch so obviously I had to check this place out. Let's start off with the name First Watch- I don't quite see the correlation or reference to breakfast or anything food related for that matter. Actually, I had visited the Starbucks next door and I always thought it was a watch store of some sort. The wait was merely 5 minutes and once we were seated, we started salivating over the menu. The waitress uninspired took our orders and disappeared for a good 20 minutes, which is how long the food took. Judging by the layer of film over the soup and cold eggs on my sandwich- the food was sitting for a good 10 minutes before being brought to our table. "Well that's odd", I thought to myself but once waitress put the bill down on our table it made much more sense- she couldn't care less. I don't know about you but I don't like eating while staring at the check the whole time. Also, once she put the check down I was no longer in a mood to order their specialty kale cocktail that was initially unavailable. The food itself was mediocre, definitely not worth the $25 we paid. I hope the management takes this seriously, otherwise their staff will run this place down. read more

I've been to this store several times now as well as in Arizona when I lived there. In general I would say these are good healthy oriented somewhat interesting places to eat breakfast or lunch. It should be noted that the portions are healthy oriented as well meaning smaller than the typical restaurant size. Personally I think this is a good thing but others might be upset. After five or six visits to the Wynnewood store I would say the service has been at least attentive and in several cases quite good. As this seems to be a concern with many of the reviewer's just saying that hasn't been my experience. You know I don't think I can give this less than a four-star however the place has always left me feeling just a little bit disappointed. The nature of the place screams out this is going to be great. And that's a hard standard to live up to a perfectly decent place seems like it should be more. We'll to conclude, certainly worth going to especially if you have just normal expectations. read more

We finally were able to return to First Watch yesterday, June 18. When we first ate there back in April the food was great but the service was not. Happily this time the service was excellent and the food is still great. We had Autrea as our server and she was wonderful. She promptly bought us our coffee with real half and half and got us water. Autrea checked on us several time during the meal to make sure all was good. Our food came out much quicker this time. It was far less busy than our first visit so I am sure that helped. I had the elevated egg sandwich, which was great so good that I don't know if I'll ever be able to order anything else there. My husband had the eggs Benedict that he enjoyed. read more
