Transparency matters. Two martinis listed at $11 each somehow turned into a $32 charge with no explanation. Whether it's a training issue or unclear pricing, it reflects poorly on the experience. Guests shouldn't have to guess what they're going to be charged. And the food was horrible tonight. What's even more interesting, is this place is a total hole in the wall. I mean it's not even nice to sit inside and there's a brand new sushi restaurant opening up down the street so they won't be around for much longer. I didn't feel like cooking today so I looked up the closest sushi restaurant and this pop up. So we decided to give it a try. When we walked in the restaurant we were greeted and seated promptly. It was happy hour and we were excited to try some items. We ordered shumai, seaweed salad. Crab Rangoon, and potstickers. We also ordered some sushi and steak and shrimp hibachi. Everything was good. This his an amazing gem in Trophy club on the frontage road off 114. They have hand roles, fresh sushi, bento, poke bowls, teriyaki and a massive list of roles. We were seated quickly. They have a great happy hour menu. The wine list is elaborate and a full bar. I didn't try and sake but I will when I return. The food is delicious. The rocky shims is popcorn shrimp but a tempura batter. Mom wasn't sure about the spicy sauce so she had it on the side. It's not hot spicy so get it on top. My husband ate it quickly and loved every bite. I love sushi but the pork gyoza were my favorite. They are so savory and just perfect combo of meat and veggies I ate every one. Seaweed salad is really good but they have a twist there are cucumbers on the bottom and it's a perfect crunch. It's unexpected and very inspired. If you need a girls night or a special date or a lunch meeting in Trophy club I highly recommend them. The atmosphere is authentic and well maintained. For $10 the hibachi beef was absolutely amazing. The beef was perfectly salty, very tender and cooked to absolute perfection. I was genuinely surprised when this tasted as good as it did. The white rice was fluffy, soft and perfectly cooked. The vegetables that came with the meal could have been a little bit more chard. Other than that, my only complaint and reason for this to not be 10*5 stars excuse me. Was because the salad that came beforehand was simply just a bagged salad with a vinegar salad dressing on top. When we came, it was 12:30pm on a Friday and it was only us and one other couple in there. The food was tasty, hot and came out quickly. We had a great Friday night sushi dinner at Fish and Knife. When we walked in we were greeted immediately as we walked in. The ambiance here is is very nice. I really liked the mood lighting and how tables and the white accent branches were laid out. It felt very contemporary for a sushi place. Angel was our server, who really took care of us. She was very quick with the menu and taking out order as well as drink refills. As for the sushi, it was great! We ordered the yellowtail jalapeño and shrimp tempura for appetizers. They were both very good. For the main meal we ordered the dinner sushi for two. This is in the back of the menu, if I don't have the title right. This came with miso soup and a salad. The salad had a very sweet clear dressing that tasted very unique and good. The miso soup was just your average miso soup. The sushi was chef's choice with an eel role of some sort. The sushi and sashimi were cut perfectly and tasted very fresh. The meal was just right amount of food for the both of us. We left full and happy as you should be want to do after eating at a Japanese restaurant. Hopefully one day they might expand their menu out to ramen or some takoyaki, but really they don't have to. This is the closest sushi restaurant to our house so we will head here when we have a craving but do not want to drive very far. It is solid sushi and will definitely help you meet a craving. A lot of times we start here with their edamame. It is well cooked and has an appropriate amount of salt on it. Once I got the spicy edamame which comes with hot chile oil on the outside of the pod, a little messy. We will usually get 3 or 4 different rolls when we come in. My favorite roll here is the Shaggy Dog. This roll has the most flavor of all the rolls I have tried here and the crab on the outside makes it delicious. We frequently get the shrimp tempura roll, and a classic California roll. The one roll that I would recommend avoiding is the spider roll. They put lettuce in the roll which for a crunchy soft shell crab roll just does not work well for me. Service here is usually pretty good but it can get backed up at times. The rolls also will come out as they are completed, so we have gotten our order delivered to the table over a period of time. I much prefer to get my full order at once. We have used their to go service and this has worked well every time we have done it. read more

I ordered the trio with salmon yellowtail and tuna and 1 it was all fishy, the yellow tail was tough like a well done steak and it had bones in it which was weird because the yellow tail appetizer wasn't horrible. I tried this for lunch. Ordered the lunch hibachi chicken. Fried rice was was your typical side with no visible egg, onions or other ingredients, but taste was good. Chicken and veggies were good, but lunch portion is smaller - menu says 5 oz. The salad was a bowl of iceberg and a couple stringed carrots - it was terrible - but I guess this is the traditional "salad" you get at Hibachi places ... just not my thing. Fountain drink was totally flat - as in zero carbonation - so basically paid to drink a soda that tasted like water :( Service was average. Went I lunch with my girlfriend to try someplace new. We started with the calamari. We we got it we were both surprised by the presentation. It looks like fish sticks and didn't taste any better. We told the waitress but she just left it sit there. We both ordered from the lunch hibachi. They were both good but nothing exceptional. I had the fillet and my friend had the steak and shrimp. We live in Roanoke and usually go to the one in downtown or go to Southlake but wanted to switch it up. Unfortunately we won't be back. The dancing dragon had enormous amount of tempura shrimp (mostly tempura and little shrimp) and a tiny tiny slice of eel/ brown avocado on top. On other two rolls we got, avocado was also very dark brown. And fish just didn't taste fresh. Fried jalapeño with snow crab was good but tasted like crab imitation to be honest or mixed combo if you will. The service was quick though! When you walk in, if you pay attention and you happen to be someone who knows a few Chinese characters, you'll notice the word "fish". It is put together by mahjong pieces on the wall. Pretty unique. See the picture I took. And I'm still in search of the knife :) I like seafood of all kinds. When I'm at a Japanese sushi place, I always look for eel. So no exception here: I ordered an eel roll with avocado. The eel meat was really tiny compared to the big chunk of avocado. The dark eel sauce was sweet, mildly salty, and flavorful. Very nice indeed. I also ordered a seaweed salad. With sesame seeds sprinkled on top, the dark green seaweed was fresh, chilled, and very eye appealing. The interior is simple but well-designed: solid color walls and ceiling with hidden lighting above. There are many items on the menu. It won't take me long to come back and try some others. One friendly note of caution for guys. If you need to visit the restroom, please note the urinal in the men's room is so near the door. So if someone opens the door while you're doing your business, you're out in the open. So beware! read more
