In town for work. The hotel is near by and I wanted Tex-Mex. Waiter Sebastian was very patient and accommodating with my blood sugar needs. I had a light beer and the fajitas parrillada (half order), which comes with shrimp, chicken, and beef, plus guac, sour cream, pico de gallo, rice, and beans. I skipped the rice but had the rest, and everything was good. When the fajitas arrived, I was like, "OMG, that's WAY too much food, even for a half order!" But then I realized about 70% of it was a bed of veggies (onions, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms... a little confusing for fajitas hahaha) and the rest was the protein. The beef and chicken were not dry and had good flavor. I only got TWO shrimp though... wth?! But they were well seasoned and good. I couldn't have the totopos (chips) because I'm watching my blood sugar, but they let me have my own protein chips. I also tried the house salsa. It was blended (not chunky) and kind of spicy for my non-spicy-tolerant taste buds , but I liked it! Music was a mix or reggaeton and Latino Urbano from the 90's-2000s and made me smile hehe. Great Tex-Mex restaurant, but not if you're vegetarian. Our server, Cristian, was great! He let me know about the menu and came back to check on us throughout the meal. The queso, all of the enchilada sauces except ranchero, black beans, and rice contained meat, which was disappointing. For those of you who are vegetarian, this place is not a great option. The chips are good, and the salsa is on the runnier side but still packed with flavor. Prices are reasonable. I hope one day they create a vegetarian menu and become more accommodating. read more

I stopped here on a whim on my way from the airport to my hotel and I am so glad I did. This was definitely next level Tex-Mex in true Texas fashion. The Jicama slaw was crazy good, as was the cilantro rice, tacos and the house made bottomless chips and salsa! My family and I have visited Anamia's in Trophy Club several times now (we used to frequent the Southlake location, but this one is much more convenient), and we've consistently had great experiences. The staff is warm and welcoming, the margaritas are excellent, and the food never disappoints. My personal favorite is the Tacos a la Mexicana--brisket tacos that are absolutely bursting with flavor. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the patio is perfect for enjoying a nice evening. I highly recommend Anamia's--and whatever you do, make sure you try the Tacos a la Mexicana. read more

We live in TC and eat here regularly, but I haven't written a review in a long while. We had dinner there recently and it was as enjoyable as ever. Omar was an excellent server. We had some basics....beef and bean nachos and the taco salad with spicy Ranch dressing. It was all fresh and flavorful. Our grandson had chicken strips / fries and gave them a "10". We love this place! We go quite often especially on the weekends for a date night or weekday lunch date!

The food was pretty standard, I got the burrito meal which tasted good but was very greasy, I can still deal the grease on my lips 2 hours later. The service was great and they were even willing to turn the volume of the music down in the restaurant after my group thought it was too loud. The restaurant itself was a pre-standard look with some paintings and other touches and the music was just what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. I would give Anamia's Tex Mex zero stars if I could due to their misleading menu and inattentive customer service. I went here for lunch and felt like vomiting the remainder of my day because my body had a violent reaction to the meat products hidden in their dishes. I've been a vegetarian all my life, so I've developed mindfulness about what to look for on menus and how to communicate my dietary restrictions to food service staff. At face value, Anamia's menu appeared to clearly distinguish between dishes with meat and without meat, so I ordered the "Cup of tortilla soup, bean tostada with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, and a side of rice" while asking the server if anything in that dish had pork or meat. She confirmed that it did not. About two bites into my food I realized something was very wrong. I asked the server if my tortilla soup had chunks of chicken in it. She confirmed that it does. I asked why the menu didn't mention that. She had no idea why. She apologetically took my tortilla soup back and brought me another bean tostada as substitute. I didn't want to make a huge deal of it, so I continued to eat my beans and rice. However, I grew more suspicious by the minute as this place was clearly not trustworthy, so I called the server back and asked if my rice had chicken bouillon because I recalled that's added to rice sometimes. She had to go back to the kitchen to ask. Much to my disappointment, she came back and confirmed that it did. My appetite was ruined at this point. I respectfully flagged down the manager and explained how unprofessional and disrespectful this entire experience was. Especially, in this day and age when there are plenty of vegetarians and plenty of competing restaurants that are mindful of publishing accurate menus. He comped my meal, which was the least he could do. I asked him to share my feedback with the owners/executive team that this is super reckless. Many people are vegetarians and vegans due to religious convictions, heritage, tradition, etc. so it's extremely disrespectful when you recklessly publish menus that don't accurately distinguish between meat products and non-meat products. Plenty of restaurants do it now. It's not difficult to do. Or just stop putting meat products in dishes that don't require it. Most people aren't going to give you less business because your rice or soup didn't have chicken products in it. And it will save you money. Try harder. read more

Yikes, if I was ownership or management I would be embarrassed by what just happened. I always would prefer to give honest and polite reviews. This one pains me to write because by no stretch of the imagination is this an exaggeration of what just happened. My wife and I walk in, we sit down at the bar. We prefer the bar because typically bartenders give good service, and this is especially true when theres multiple people working the bar. The bartender asks my wife what she would like, and my wife asks if theres any happy hour specials, or special drinks that they normally don't make, and I kid you not the male bartender started laughing at her to her face, then said "No, we don't do that". I don't see why this was funny? Just about all restaurants run happy hour specials, believe me, it's not about the money, but specials like that can get my wife to try new things. Where was this guy raised? A barn? For a bartender to laugh in my face, at a mediocre Mexican restaurant, in trophy club offended me. We ordered, the food came out, and mine tasted good, but mine was warm. a few degrees above room temperature? Don't quote me on that. While it was good, it wasn't the kind of mind blowing that would make me go back. During this time, I asked repeatedly in a clear normal volume (my voice does carry, so I avoid trying to go above my normal tone) for a beer and literally got ignored. I started noticing two MAYBE three guys standing at the side of the bar waiting to get one of the multiple bar tenders to get them a drink and they were getting ignored. At one point one or two of them just left from what I can only guess was being ignored as well. It got to the point where I gave up my wife suggest we get our tab and leave. Again I ask multiple different times and was completely ignored. It got to the point where I was holding up my credit card in their field of view and still nothing. I'm convinced if I wasn't an ethical person we could have walked the tab and it would be several hours before the multiple bar tenders noticed us. It got to the point where we just stood up with our things and someone who I don't think was a bartender noticed we looked like we were ready to leave but we were waiting for one of the bartenders to finally pay attention. I don't know if this is a corporate store or a franchise but this was like watching an episode of Bar Rescue. We were never rude to them, but they so totally disrespected us. Personally, I'd fire the bartenders from tonight and start over. When it's so bad people leave, theres huge problems. If management can't see that, it's probably the management that needs to be replaced too. I want to give a 2 stars, because the drinks were good, and if the food came out at the right temperature (probably sat in the window for too long). But, seriously, laugh at a mans wife in front of him and literally not respond to any one trying to get their attention to the point walks wanting drink walk away? "Needs work" doesn't seem to give enough of what needs to be corrected. ---------- It's been 5 days since "someone" reached out. I stopped in solo for lunch today. Wanting to try the caldo de pollo. It was lovely. Huge chunks of fresh veggies in a light fragrant broth. Perfect for a cooler day or any day! The queso was unremarkable but presented nicely with a sprinkle of smoked paprika, and whole crunchy tortilla. The salsa was unremarkable, really could use the touch of fresh cilantro. Call to place a massive order...get out on hold for ten min. Poor management ....you want business or not?

There's nothing standout about this restaurant. Nothing to brag about, and nothing to write home to Mom about. Service is extremely hit or miss. A few days I came in, and had an energetic male server who started off the greet with his name and then, "Will your margarita be on the rocks or frozen". As a former server/bartender/manager I was immediately impressed. Expect the sale! That's the way to upsell. Then last night I was at the bar and the bartender was clearly over-worked and had a full bar top and a full bar with all the tables. She had zero support and assistance. Not her fault - this was on management for under-staffing. In addition, the hostess was hunched over looking at her phone when I walked in. I eventually grabbed my own silverware and walked to the bar. My buddy said she ignored him as well. When I walked back to the hostess stand to get him silver, the hostess was busy looking at her phone and didn't even notice I walked up. Your hostess is supposed to be welcoming and acknowledge guests and be happy and smile. What's the point of having a hostess if she's going to ignore guests? Absolutely useless. I thought this place was under new management? Disappointing all around. Speaking of management, the current manager (young woman) has such a language barrier it's difficult to talk with her. The positives: well made table-side guacamole, delicious crispy beef tacos, and a well designed dining room. We took my sisters to dinner here while they were in town. They love Mexican food, but were both disappointed with the food and drinks at Anamia's. My sister (who will usually drink any kind of margarita) did not like the house margarita at all. The wine my other sister ordered from the menu was out. The salsa was more like canned enchilada sauce. The chips were super thick and not in a good way. The beans were watery. Our waitress was missing most of the time. She never brought several things we ordered. I wish I had better to report. :( read more

Y'all, I found a true Tex-Mex restaurant. This place understands Tex-Mex and for less than $10 bucks puts a good lunch plate in front of you. Hot sauce is good. Keep eating and it will start to burn. Really great Tex Mex in the heart of Trophy Club. The food is fresh and excellently prepared. All of the servers are friendly and knowledgeable and they do a great job at taking care of you. Sat in the bar for a girls night. Great vibes with attentive service that doesn't rush you. Once we ordered our food it took forever. The server did update us that they were working on our order but everything came out not very hot. Clearly it was sitting and waiting for service. I am a TC resident and have been eating here for years and since the management change the food and service are sub-par. I called twice to place a to-go order and was hung up on so I called back then was on hold for over 12 minutes so I hung up again. I am not sure why this location has so many issues but it would be nice to have a quality place to get Mexican food from around here. It would be great to use the online system but the full menu is not available. More to go orders would make the service that much slower in the restaurant. I hope someone in their management actually reads these comments and makes changes that will benefit this restaurant. read more

We have been going to Southlake Anamias since the day it opened. That store has the best staff of any restaurant in the entire city. It has long-time cooks, servers and bartenders and Anamias truly cares about its customers. When we walk in by the time we get to our table there are margaritas waiting for us. It has the best chips and salsa including its unmatched mocajeta. Great fajitas, enchiladas and La Pariliada are fantastic. We are there every Friday and will be as long as it stays open.
