Family and I were looking for a place to eat and came across this small general store advertising bbq on our way to Yosemite park. As we were driving by, there was this gentleman with gloves and mask waiting to make some yummy bbq. My daughter had a cheeseburger and fries, while my husband ordered the bbq special. Everything was made to order, my husbands burger consisted of bbq pulled pork on top of a meat patty and cheddar cheese. He loved his burger as well as my daughter. I ordered from the deli inside and the bread was very fresh and soft as well as the ingredients. You won't be disappointed! The only thing is, I believe they only sale bbq Friday- Sunday and they start at 11am until they are sold out. read more

This store has a little bit of everything. Dry goods, camping gear you may have forgotten, fishing gear, auto care products, souvenirs, etc. The prices were all very reasonable too. All the staff I encountered were extremely friendly. I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. This is the kind of place you love to stumble upon. read more

Fish Camp is the last bump on the road heading up the 41 to Yosemite, or the first one you hit on the way out. Either way, the Fish Camp Store will have something you might need or want. From camping supplies to some souvenirs or a cold soda or water for the drive out, you'll find it here. The fellow manning the register the day we stopped by was friendly and helpful. The sandwiches here are $10 for a 6-inch. They don't have as many choices as Subway as far as meat and toppings. No oil and vinegar. Somehow with no oil and vinegar my sandwich was soggy when I went to eat it. The location is convenient as it's on the way into Yosemite from Oakhurst but I wish we'd driven into town to get cheaper, tastier sandwiches at Subway instead. read more

Do not waste your time! Went to the store this am for sandwiches for our family. We started by ordering a turkey/cheese and PBJ. We were also deciding what to order for our gluten allergy daughter. We asked if we can order turkey and cheese. He said no, we don't do that. Then I asked for a sandwich without bread, essentially ordering turkey and cheese for $10. He said, I dont know what you dont understand. He was rude, used profanity in front of three children. At that point, we walked out leaving everything in the store. He ran after us and threatened to write down our license place. We went back to our hotel, Tenaya lodge, and picked up a delicious lunch for a great day at Yosemite. This place is WAY overpriced and the older man that works there was VERY rude and racist. I stopped at his store to get some supplies on our way to Yosemite. I will never go back and HIGHLY recommend stopping in Oakhurst or Bass Lake on your way to Yosemite to get supplies and lunch. There are also several nice shops/restaurants in Yosemite valley that have nice employees and treat everyone with respect. DO NOT stop at this place in Fish Camp. read more

My husband and I spent 4 nights in the area and got sub sandwiches from the general store each day before our big hikes. The owners of this place were SO friendly and were thrilled when we returned the following day. On our hikes, all the other hikers commented on how jealous they were of our awesome subs. Stopped here to grab a sandwich for a hike- the lady behind the counter was one of the most unpleasant people I've ever met! I come from food service and am very understanding when it comes to the service industry- but the rudeness was shocking. I asked for another sandwich after she finished making my first (apparently you need to put them all in at one time?!) and got the worst look and hugest sigh like I ruined her week. I genuinely asked if that was ok, because I didn't know what was up, and she said "it's gonna have to be ok, isn't it?" This is 5 stars based on the location and competition. Normally I wouldn't throw out 5 stars for a small convenience store that makes $10 six inch sandwiches, but this place saved our stomachs and wallets compared to the competition. Everything in the mountains is so expensive, at Tenaya lodge restaurants we paid $80 for a mediocre dinner, $50 for a mediocre breakfast, and were sick of expensive subpar food. So we see this General Store that says "deli" and all I can think is I would kill for an easy cold meat sandwich and chips after my long day hiking in Yosemite. I absolutely could not face one more crappy dinner costing an arm and a leg at Tenaya lodge. Of course $10 seems like a lot for a cold meat sandwich, until you've spent a few days in this area at other restaurants, and until you taste the sweet heavenly freshness of all the ingredients. We had a turkey and a ham sandwich that were so good we bought two more sandwiches for our next meal. Then we came back for breakfast sandwiches the next day, also delicious! The general store is small, but provided chips, water, and cookies to go with the meal. Perfect. Oh, and the women that work there are friendly and wonderful. Supporting their business made the prices seem more acceptable as well. If you are sick of eating at disappointing expensive area restaurants, stop in here for a refreshing change of pace. Get some sandwiches and have a picnic and enjoy the scenery, or take it back to the room with some beers. read more

A solid 4*, great place to grab some quick bites before heading out to the park. Got a breakfast burrito for my husband and although I don't usually like them, this one was really good. The eggs were fluffy & soft, just the right amount of red peppers included, and well seasoned. Good size portion too. The croissant with Nutella & yogurt parfait was a hit with my 8yo. With one cup of coffee, you get refills all day. Reasonably priced considering it's in a hotel. I usually try to avoid those hotel coffee/mini markets but I'd go back to this one again. read more

MY WHOLE FAMILY WAS BEYOND DISAPPOINTED. I'm just going to say this. My neighbor, a healthy 20 year old, just died from COVID. No doubt she got it from someone in the neighborhood not following State guidelines to social distance or wear a mask. There is a reason these ordinances exist especially ESPECIALLY by the people working at businesses that sell and MAKE food! You know where I'm going with this. After paying for packaged food as we would never let them prepare food for us, my husband said something to them and their response: 'well you don't have to shop here.' Um of course we NEVER will again. We'll make the trek to Oakhurst or Yosemite valley. Hopefully, by the next time we come, the businesses serving food that ARE following guidelines now will be open again and I won't have this as one of my only options. To the owners of the store- Don't forget people are coming from all over CA (and the US) a state which has some of the highest numbers of cases. Some asymptomatic person may walk in there (and most likely has) and infect you, who will in turn be asymptomatic and you will most definitely pass that on to someone you're making food for WITHOUT GLOVES OR A MASK while your coworkers stand right next to you shaking strangers' hands. You know, like today! Maybe that person gets it from you and is not asymptomatic, they get gravely ill; and pass it to their family and friends, some of whom also get gravely ill. Like my 20 year old neighbor. And on and on. That's how this thing works. You are putting yourself and the people who patronize your business at risk. Don't you get it? This sh** is real! It's people/businesses like yours holding back CAs reopening. This is why you won't have as many people come to your store on their way to Yosemite this year. This is why we can't get our lives back to normal! Oh wait, you're an essential business not affected by the shut down. Of course! There is a reason this is law right now. We did not support the store for years because the former owner was rude and cursed at kids. Today I was desperate for a loaf of bread, bit my lip behind my mask and went in. I was completely surprised by two enthusiastic and well mannered young ladies. They were extremely helpful and mentioned that they loved working there. I later found out that the store had changed hands. I'm overjoyed especially that we no longer have to drive all the way to Oakhurst for a gallon of milk just to avoid "Mr. Grumpy"! We will definitely be supporting our "new" local store and deli! read more

Fish Camp General Store is just that, a general store. Nothing fancy just a small little shop with that mom and pop feel to it selling the standard things and knick knacks and souvenirs for the tourist. It's on your way to the Yosemite gate. We came here after playing on the frozen lake Fish Camp lake across the road. Yes, the lake was completely frozen and people were ice skating so we went shoe skating. We came here just to grab a drink and take a look around. Servie was great people were nice. Though we didn't try the food if we had we would have not expected some gourmet sort of experience being that it is a small little shop on the side of the road. A pit stop... Some of THE kindest, friendliest people we have ever met. On our way up Yosemite we had stopped at a certain lodge to grab a bite. While the people there were friendly no one ever came to take our order. So we drove the highway praying for food and something to drink, and we found this adorable little general store and Deli. THE best sandwiches you will ever eat. If you like old fashioned deli along with a side salad and something to drink, you will be very happy!! read more

We stopped here after a very long day of traveling from NYC to SF to Yosemite.
