We just stopped in for a quick beer during our walk. We had our dogs and sat at the outside patio area. Live music for entertainment was nice too. Everyone's food looked good but we didn't order food. We would like to come back and hang out again. It was nice. We had our dogs too. They also had the game on the TVs outside.

Meeting some friends for a boat ride, we ordered to-go lunches. I'm not kidding...my fish tacos and my Wife's burger took 50 minutes to arrive. All our server could do was apologize. She did give me an additional beer. Luckily my our friends who provided the boat ride were polite and patient. I really couldn't understand why there was such a long delay. Since my credit card had been run, I couldn't just walk away. As for our meals, my fish tacos were great. Wife reported, her burger was very good. But the wait for these lunches will cause me to avoid Kalua next time.

Outside lakeside dining with a vacation vibe. Live music was great with great song selection and talented artist. Server was attentive. We got fried pickles for an appetizer that were good. My fried fish sandwich and fries were great and the sandwich was huge! Prices are reasonable. We will be back!

Let me tell you this place has a great location. BUT it's a trashy establishment, don't take this wrong but it's for smokers (who is able to smoke at a place except the private clubs), the beers are all local domestic beer, but they do have a. single craft beer on top. I ordered 4 craft beers for $24 and some change. Location near the water is nice. i heard it's either rundown crackheads come here and or other clientel comes around. I hear it's a place for the retirees to go and come on shore with the boat. Beers were good from what I can tell. Loved the kolsch which was fabolous.

This place is right on the lake. Service was great! We got the blackened fish tacos. Delicious flavor and definitely recommend. The only drawback was the flies. I guess you can't have it all. Definitely a great place to have a drink and have a snack on the water.

SERVICE: 4 STARS She missed on one thing that distressed Mrs Robert but otherwise did fine. AMBIENCE: 4.25 STARS Right next to the lake, near the seaplane, on a bike path, what's not to like. This section of Tavares is nice, several restaurant / watering holes, good people watching, no wandering muttering backpackers. VALUE: 4.5 STARS One sees very few $ 10.95 burgers these days, and the coleslaw side was good sized too. So it obviously is not a Michelin Star type place, but then again, I don't seek those places out. I would consider it a destination place as Tavares itself is worth visiting.

This was my second time coming here. I really like the ambiance here. I like that they do live music. And with us having Jetskis and boats, I really enjoy that they are right by the water. The food is good and the service was good for the amount of people we had. We will definitely be coming back.

    View was pretty cool!

1st time and had great time. The food was really tasty. Band they had was really good as well. It got busy later on. Some people were dancing and all looked liked they were having just as much fun. I am keeping this one on my I am going back list!

They only had one wait person for about 30 tables, as far as we could tell, so I won't say anything negative about service. A different person was bringing out the food. We each got the pulled pork Reuben sandwich. Each of us did the $1 upgrade, her the fries, deliciously crispy, I, the pasta salad, awful, they removed off bill. The pulled pork sandwiches were delish, sweet bbq sauce, swiss cheese, fantastic coleslaw, all on Hawaiian rolls. The pasta salad would have been good, it had all the right ingredients, but other than maybe the equivalent one olive sliced up, it did not even have a half teaspoon total of tomato, green bell pepper and red onion! The view of Lake Dora is beautiful and there is a walking path that goes quite a way around it. Also a children's small water park and a quaint gift shop off the path. Free parking garage only on weekdays, it was closed Saturday.

Another great weekend in Tavares Kalua Beach Bar is the stop!! Live music, great service, yummy food WINGS ARE ALWAYS DELISH ON POINT AND JUICY burgers are delicious too, just make sure to ask how you like them, well or med, because they make homemade so sometimes there more rare then well done.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND KALUA. GREAT TIME ALWAYS

You can choose where to sit, at the bar or at a table under a canopy. The bar has it's benefits, but the table does have a scenic view.

Our server, Andrew. - wrote nothing down, ZERO errors. Was time efficient, attentive, kind, overall an EXCELLENT server. You can choose where you'd like to sit, at the bar or at a table with umbrella. Of course, the bar has it's benefits, but the table does have a scenic view. And trust me, you'll go back home feeling HAPPY about your meal choice. The food "hits THE SPOT".

Typical beach bar vibe w beach band. Strong drinks, crowded so expect to wait unless you can belly up to the bar.

I really wanted to love this place!…read more Myself, my mom and my grandma went here for the mad hatter themed pop up that's happening. When we arrived, there was one table left in the bar side, which had enough for 6 people. We asked if we could just grab that spot and the hostess had to go speak to the manager. She came back and informed us that we could not sit there, but instead in the adjacent restaurant (same menu) or the bar (my grandma is in a wheelchair), or wait but that it might be over an hour. Since we were a group of 3 we asked if we could split that table into 2 so we wouldn't use it all, additionally, we had driven over an hour for the pop up and really wanted to be in the themed area, but they insisted that they had to keep it open for any potential larger party that would come after us. My question is... couldn't that larger party that *might* come sit in the adjacent restaurant? We were after the lunch hour (around 2pm) and I get wanting to keep space, but this has literally never happened to me before anywhere I have been. Eventually, we were able to sit at that table (they didn't split it into 2, but we offered multiple times). No larger group came so there wasn't an issue with that... I mean it did all work out but the vibes were so weird and others should know the potential issues! We only got cocktails, and they were delicious! I loved the theming it was super cute and accurate! I think if I go back I would go alone so I could sit at the bar. There is plenty of parking available!

This location was suggested as they have an enclosed patio to avoid bugs, and it worked out great! The staff were remarkable and even brought an iced water for the dog without even asking! Appreciate that extra touch. What We Ordered: ~ Dockside Scallops (Appetizer): cooked beautifully, and paired with a sauce that complimented the scallops. Loved the citrus for acidity, while having the sweet chili for some spice. I can see this being delicious with rice and a vegetable for an entree, which they also offer. ~ The Big Cheese Burger (sub Cheddar versus American Cheese): Very delicious and a great price point for $15! Definitely left us satisfied as we cut in half to share the scallops as well. ~ Jumper Juice: only $5 all day, every day? Why not try! Though, I'm a vodka fan so this was not my liquor of choice. Still a very refreshing drink that I'm sure many would enjoy. ~ Coke: A classic for a burger, and tasted great on a hot, humid Florida day. Definitely a place I'd return when visiting in the area, and I can see trying the scallop entree or even getting a burger again. Great food, friendly service, and spacious location.

The waitress was terrific but when it came to the food, we both agreed we would not go back. Fish and Chips were ordered and it was mentioned that they tasted Frozen Long John from a box and the 2 fish pieces were small. We paid $1 extra for onion rings which looked good but needed seasoning aka salt. My patty melt was ok and I ordered it with fries which didn't come out with my meal. When the fries came they were fresh which I was happy about that but I needed to salt them for flavor. Went to use the ladies room before leaving and a 1 stall caused a traffic jam on a Saturday afternoon. Can't imagine what it would be like on a busy night. Wow! What an amazing meal!!…read more I arrived on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm, and unbeknownst to me, had just beaten the rush hour crowd that was lined up out the door when I left at 1:30pm! This place is a cool, converted house. I was led through the downstairs dining area, up the stairs to the second floor, through the second floor dining area, and into an adjoining room - the "Bar". This was one cool room. It consisted of several comfortable sofas on one side of the room, a few high top tables alongside a bookcase wall, and the attractive dark wood bar that could accommodate about 8 people. I was led to a high top table next to a wall of bookcases with all types of interesting literature, from novels to Encyclopedia Britannica. Almost immediately after sitting down, I was greeted by my server "Bre". She gave me a menu and took my drink order - coffee ($3), black, and a glass of water, TYVM. She returned within a few minutes with my coffee and water. The coffee was very good. For an appetizer, I decided to try their Irish Whiskey Onion Soup ($8), and for my main course, I went with their Cashew Chicken Montagu Sandwich ($15). My soup arrived and the "eye appeal" was only surpassed by the amazing taste! Caramelized onions, Irish Whiskey broth, and with Swiss and mozzarella cheese, this was absolutely, no doubt in my mind, The Best Onion Soup I've ever had!! I was just hoping no one was watching me eating it as it was a bit challenging with the long onions, but truthfully I didn't care because it was so good! My Cashew Chicken Sandwich arrived next, and with a dreadful feeling of an impending "let down" after such an amazing appetizer, I was just blown away after taking a bite of this masterpiece! Perfectly cooked, moist chicken breast with a cashew crust, brie mornay, cranberry-apple relish, on a brioche bun! Did you all see the photo I posted? Just Amazing!! So, after two home runs in a row, I'm thinking to myself, Who can come up with such amazing combinations? I mean seriously, What type of Mad and Brilliant Chef do they have working in the back kitchen?! Ha! (I'm sure the Chef isn't "Mad") I've hardly mentioned the Service, but Bre constantly checked on me, refilling my water twice, and my coffee three times, all the while asking me how I was enjoying my meal. The service couldn't have been any better. My only regret is that I had absolutely no room for dessert and I know it must be excellent Take this to the bank, For one of the best meals you can experience, come to The Goblin Market Restaurant!
