Ordered my food to go. Service was great. Ordered 3 plates. Hush puppies were hard as a rock. For the price, not worth it. Although I will say my blackened plate had good flavor. Coleslaw is vinegar based vs Mayo. Not our cup of tea. So we tasted it but didn't eat it. You only get one piece of catfish and shrimp. For the 22$. So we won't go here again. I live very close to Watterscreek Mall but I have never visited Fish City Grill ever since we moved to Allen from Austin. And to be honest, I don't know why. The reviews are amazing, the pictures of their food look promising and this restaurant is so close! But I finally made a stop for lunch with friends. As soon as we entered we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was very friendly and since we were first-time guests, she explained the menu and specials very well and gave us great recommendations on what to try! We got their special of the week: Lobster & shrimp pasta, fish taco (recommended by our server), salmon salad, and blueberry cobbler as dessert. While waiting for our food to be prepared our server brought out a complimentary appetizer to try some Oyster nachos as well as some samples of their soups. I did not try their nachos as I do not enjoy Oysters (that's one seafood I don't enjoy eating) but the soups were delicious. My favorite was their clam chowder! Very creamy and delicious. Our party definitely enjoyed our time here munching down on all the food and we enjoyed everything. Our table's favorite was their taco but I really enjoyed the pasta as well (but I have to mention that the pasta was a little bit overcooked). All in all a great place to come and enjoy some lunch and dinner. The service was great. I also appreciate that our server was so nice enough to read the special menu of the week for us as we were sitting right underneath the chalkboard with the specials and it was hard to read. 5 stars all the way if you crave some seafood. read more

Fish city Grill is a pretty cool restaurant that we did not even know existed in Allen. The place is not huge, but upon first walking in we were greeted immediately and the service was pretty awesome. We were seated quickly, and our server Christopher was very attentive and knew the menu well. After ordering Parmesan Oyster appetizers, Christopher came back and we ordered our meals. My wife and I both ordered Fried Fish with Fried Shrimp, my daughter ordered fries... my son ordered the Oyster Nachos. Every single item we ordered arrived fast and hot, we enjoyed our meals. I had a couple IPAs since it was Friday night, and the overall experience was pretty awesome. I'm very critical of bathrooms, when I walked in and went into the bathroom, the bathroom was very clean, this immediately established a comfort about the kitchen and the servers, so bravo. In the big picture, it's nice to find a cool seafood place to dine in Allen, and I will for sure find myself back here again during the summer. Hub and I gave this another try. Shared the appetizer platter. We enjoyed the calamari. The sauce it comes with them is sweet and good. Did not like the shrimp and crab queso. It just tasted fishy. The chips served with it are too thick. The fried pickles were good at first, but quickly lost crispiness and the bottom ones were shiny and greasy. The ranch and tarter sauces were okay. They recently stating offering a complimentary sample plate with 4 varieties of their soups and oyster nachos. I almost ordered the nachos for my meal, so I'm head I got to try them. We came for our latest visit to Fish City Grill specifically to enjoy our favorite menu items...shrimp and grits, bacon wrapped shrimp with scallops and crab bisque. We were thwarted! All of these items are no longer on the menu. We stayed and ordered garlic salmon with capers and herb crusted salmon cakes which were fine, but, you can get salmon with capers anywhere. Bring back the scallops at least! Very disappointing. read more

This is a true gem in Allen. Pablo took great care of us, the food was amazing, and even the manager came out to talk to us and make us feel welcome. We're in Dallas for a conference and stayed at the nearby Marriott. We saw that Fish City Grill had good rev so we headed over and we were not disappointed. The cocktails and wine were delicious and the service was grand. Lupita took very good care of us and was very attentive. The soups (I had the gumbo and it was terrific) were enjoyed by all and each of the three fish dishes we ordered were well seasoned and tasted terrific. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

So surprised by all of the positive reviews. Our experience was mediocre at best but probably should've known based on it being pretty slow at 7pm on a Saturday night. We are only in town for the weekend and I chose this place because the picture on their website of the Cobb salad looked so good. Photo from their website vs what I got are attached... Our daughter recently treated us to lunch here. When we told Pablo, our server, it was our first time, he immediately brought us samples of fried oysters and soups. I tried this Watters Creek location recently. When I arrived shortly after opening, I was enthusiastically greeted by Breanna. I told her it was my first visit, and she brought a complimentary soup sampler. She even asked about my dietary restrictions! Shortly afterward, Fernando came from the kitchen and made me feel welcome. I agree with Gary's review, the place was loud. Luckily I always have my earplugs! The jalapeno soup was delicious, just the right amount of hotness. The tomatoes on my shrimp po-boy were beautiful. The shrimp were tasty, too. Highly recommend. Not sure what the appeal is behind this restaurant. If you've ever tried real East Coast fresh seafood, this place will feel no different than a Red Lobster. The server was transparent to inform us that everything is premade, so asking for accommodations is out of the question. The food tastes exactly as that, as if it were premade and heated up. The shrimp scampi literally had no sauce and there wasn't a single caper on the stuffed flounder that wasn't burnt. It may have been a one off, but the server was trash as well. Updated I think the owner, David C, privately messaged me but I would not know because they did not introduce themselves and did not care to apologize for the food and the treatment, they only asked for the servers name. If your only concern is finding out the servers name to get onto them, and not care to reach out for any other reason, your servers will continue to show in their performance that they are not satisfied with their jobs. read more

Service upon walk-in: we were immediately greeted and she was very friendly and asked where we would Prefer to sit. Inside is very clean. Condiment bottles (hot sauce, malt vinegar, salt and pepper shaker were not sticky or dirty. We ordered a small cup of red beans and rice which were perfectly spiced with Cajun spices and wasn't too spicy. Rice was delicious and not dry and the andouille sausage inside was amazing. Fish n chips- probably the best we've ever had. Unlike other places where you eat it and immediately feel tired because of how greasy it is. It was breaded and cooked very well and perfectly salted. My husband and I split one plate and that's more than enough for 2 people. One plate usually comes with 4 huge breaded strips of cod and a large serving of fries. So they put it on 2 plates and it was a really good portion. I'm a French fry snob and these are one of my favorite fries. It's dusted in some great seasoning. Son got fish sticks and fries which were well breaded and fried as well. He loved them. Last but not least, the hush puppies are an absolute delight. Great service, quality food, and great music. The food and service were excellent. It was pretty cold outside and everyone (customers) had their coats on inside. The staff opened the overhead garage door for the bar, which made it colder. I asked the manager to please close the door, because we're all trying to stay warm. She did close the door except for about a foot. She said it was company policy to keep it open. I'm sure when it's 32 degrees out they'll probably keep it closed. I do recommend the restaurant, but I don't want to feel cold when dining! read more

We continue to give FCG at Watters Creek a chance every so often, but something always disappoints. Service is consistently slow at this location. It takes quite a bit of time, once seated, to get noticed by the servers. This past Friday brought the same delay. I ordered a fried seafood platter and Halotus ordered a broiled seafood dish. We both received fried platters. Regardless of the mistake, the food is usually pretty good. It's convenient to our neighborhood so we keep giving FCG "one more chance". read more
