Stumbled across this place while we were looking for place to grab some lunch. Around 2pm it was actually dead inside so win win! The restaurant is bright and inviting and has a wonderful patio on the wide with plenty of seating, games, etc. a great place to catch a drink and enjoy the weather in fall. Staff was all friendly and attentive. Food wise, well I think we just made not so great choices because everything on the menu sounded so delicious. Our food however was somewhat bland but again, I think it was just choice we made. had the fish and chips. We also had the gulf shrimp. Decent size portion that's for sure. They don't skimp on the fries which sadly tasted kind of stale and flavorless. I wish they would cut the fries in half and replace them with the hush puppies because they were sooooo good. The fish itself though was great, and vinegar on top dipped in the tartar sauce was a win. I think perhaps try some of the specialties and skip the fried ones. These two items were recommended so we tried them out! Overall it was nicely seasoned and yummy. So we definitely had better cod before (takeout as well) where it still remained pretty crispy, but we still enjoyed the one from here. The system had us come by 2:10 but we got ours at 2:23. Their pick up system could use some help instead of just calling to check. It would be nice if they had a text notification system or something like that. read more

It came with whipped potatoes and green beans. It was ok. Nothing was really wrong with it except maybe flavor. It wasn't the best I've ever had. I wouldn't order it again. This location is very small. They don't take reservations. But we didn't have to wait too long to be seated for lunch at 1 pm on a Saturday. Had to try this new place in Waters Creek and ordered the Gumbo and House salad on this rainy afternoon. They will ask you if you have ever been at one of their locations. If you say no then you get samples of all their delicious house-made soups. Anyway, back to the Gumbo and Salad: absolute perfection. The Gumbo is the closest to homemade you will ever find and the Salad comes tossed with a light vinaigrette and topped with blue cheese, chopped tomatos, red onions and candied pecans. Unfortunately I can't agree with the glowing reviews. We went for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was chilly and most diners kept their jackets on. A handful of other tables were occupied. Service was mediocre at best. Slow and inattentive. Calamari and queso were good. Fish tacos were barely warm and not flavorful. Chicken Fried Catfish was limp but at least hot. We were hopeful based on all the positive reviews but we doubt we will be back. read more

Great experience here on Fat Tuesday. Food was amazing and the live classic country band was top notch. First time we've been to this location. We ate on the heated patio to enjoy the band over dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. Calamari, blackened chicken, scallops and bacon wrapped shrimp- excellent. Service was also excellent. The restaurant was almost completely full and we were welcomed and seated right away. Since this was our first time, The manager came over to greet us and explain the menu. He also sent a complimentary welcome wagon to our table consisting of four different soups to try couples with Fried oyster nachos. We liked all of the welcome wagon. Next we ordered calamari and sipped on peach flavored ice tea. The calamari was excellent, not chewy and it came with a spicy sweet sauce. The main entrees presented nicely and tasted very good. Just moved to Allen and was looking for a seafood restaurant and came across this in Watter's Creek. I was not disappointed! There was a wait, but much shorter than was anticipated. The manager came over when they knew it was our first visit and chatted with us letting us know all about the place. Never had that experience before, and it made us feel very comfortable. Mamie, I believe was out waitperson, and was great and getting everything out to us. The food was outstanding! The restaurant has a nice looking interior and was not too noisy. Not sure of how other fish city grills prepare meals for their To Go orders but the one in Allen is very skimpy. The Quinoa kale & Salmon Salad, disappointing. This little restaurant is great if you love fish, shrimp and anything seafood. It's a cute little restaurant, and their service was on par despite covid challenges nowadays. They do practice social distancing, and the crowd is limited. I try to support businesses when I can, so I visited this location on a Sunday evening. They have chalkboard specials monthly, so I ordered the sriracha sweet chili shrimp tacos and the side of jalapeño sweet potato fries. The tacos were cooked and had good flavor, it wasn't spicy to me. I could have used a little bit more of a kick, but they were good nonetheless. The gumbo usually has a good, but no okra. Crab bisque is probably their best soup. For the price their shrimp poboy is good.
