Consistently delicious spot in Mansfield. We love coming here for lunch because it's right up the street from the office and they have some really fabulous salads but also I like to combo the appetizers and gumbo for an easy lunch meal. The fresh selection of fish on the board is always unique options and they often have new sides to try so the menu is consistently the same but the specials keep it ever changing. They have a great bar and nice clean restaurant and the staff always take great care of us. I would have to say this is one of my top favorite places to eat in Mansfield so even if you are not a seafood fan it's worth a try! read more

We ordered $100 meal through Uber Eats and received $30 meal because our delivery person didn't pay any attention to picking up the wrong order. Tried to call them, but they didn't speak any English so there was no way to communicate. We called Fish City and they not only remade our order the general manger hand delivered it hot and fresh. I really wanted to like this place because of the verity of options they have especially since it's hard to find places that have seafood for lent season but unfortunately I won't be returning. They are very quick to get your food out and people are friendly. The issue is in the taste of food. I ordered as an appetizer the Smokin Hot Shrimp. This was very tasty full of flavor this would taste great with a side of rice to make your own bowl. Having become big fans of FCG's crab bisque, clam chowder and peel and eat shrimp & cocktail sauce we had to find a new venue as the Southlake store quit the franchise at the end of the year to go it on their own under a new independent branding. We live in NRH so I looked at Flower Mound and Mansfield. Both a half hour drive but when I looked at reviews who popped up raving about Mansfield but FTW Yelp rock star Chuck M! LOL. So it's Mansfield. No brainer. And the visit did not disappoint. FCG clearly does a stellar job at maintaining the consistency of their high quality recipes and dishes in their various franchise operations. The bisque, chowder, boiled shrimp, and cocktail sauce were all exactly the flavors we have come to love. Pretty darn impressive. Our server, Torri, was properly attentive, cordial, knowledgable and helpful. This is a larger venue than the former Southlake store and very nicely laid out. A nice, enjoyable vibe. My husband & I tried Fish City Grill tonight because I was craving Fried Cod. I had the Beer Battered Cod with fries and Apple Cider Cole Slaw. My husband had the Gumbo and the Beer Battered Mushrooms with Jalepeno cream. It was ALL AWESOME! The fish batter was just perfect, not too thick and the tartar sauce was delectable! The Cole Slaw was yummy as well. He enjoyed his gumbo and said it was homemade and the beer battered mushrooms were delicious! We had a slice of Key Lime Pie and continued to be awed! I would have give 2 stars, with the oysters actually being a 1 star. The breading completely overwhelmed the oyster. Could only barely taste oyster in maybe 2 of 12. Our family visits this location often and have never had a complaint about service. EZ was our sever. He offered great appetizer suggestions. We settled for our go to choice, which is the oyster nachos. My husband decided to also try the red beans and rice as well. Fish city always has a new menu on the chalk board and that depends on what fresh seafood that they get in for the day. That in itself speaks volumes about the quality and freshness of their food. Being lunch, I opted for the fish sandwich and the hubbs ordered the catfish platter. My sandwich was great but after trying the catfish, I wish that I would have gotten that also. The variety of the menu is great. The manager is phenomenal, which in turn leads to having phenomenal employees that love to work with her. I went there last Saturday for a belated birthday celebration with my family. We were all first-time customers, so they brought us free sample plates that had oyster nachos and small servings of their gumbo, chowder, and soups. The roasted jalapeño soup was outstanding. I also ordered the appetizer sampler and the shrimp & crab queso for us to share, and it was plenty for the five of us. I ordered the shrimp and grits. I cleaned the bowl. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I had a piece of key lime pie, and it was very good. It wasn't overly sweet or tart. The staff was awesome. I was so excited to find out this restaurant was still open because I was disappointed when the Arlington Highlands location closed. We did not make reservations so luckily it was not too packed on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated quickly with no wait. Unfortunately they did not have fresh oysters and we were not a fan of the chargrilled oysters. I definitely recommend the calamari as an appetizer. They were perfectly seasoned and the dipping sauce is addictive. We ordered the fish tacos, salmon,and beer battered catfish. Our waiter was very attentive and we appreciated his drink recommendations. Our food was so delicious that we didn't save room for dessert. The fish tacos was served on a bed of rice and the portion was large enough to share. The salmon tasted slightly overcooked, but the flavor was delicious. As far as catfish goes this was easily the least greasy breading I have had before and definitely a large enough size to share. This particular time we didn't order the fried pickles, however I would urge you to order as they are delicious. The service was good and I find value on employees encouraging guest to take surveys on their experience. Next time we will have to call to make sure fresh oysters are available otherwise a great experience overall. read more

I went for lunch a week or so ago with my mom, celebrating Mother's Day. The staff was very attentive and provided suggestions for us regarding our oyster selection. I ordered a specialty cocktail, which was very good to begin the meal with. My Mom ordered a glass of wine. I ordered the tempura fried shrimp tacos and my Mom ordered blackened fish, which I believe was flounder. Both entrees were delicious!
