Just meh! The oysters were great! My date's food was over salted and the fish was served on top of a measly portion of fries making them soggy. My crab cake and salad were ok. The margaritas are awful!! Could not perceive the tequila. Tastes like syrup. Had them exchanged. Service was very friendly and ambiance was nice

Surprisingly good casual seafood spot in the town square. Very reasonably priced and a nice lunch spot! Plenty of parking in the garages. Not very busy for peak weekend lunch hour but service was good. Chargrilled oysters were a special, they tasted nice but essentially just tastes covered in cheese. $17 for half a dozen seemed a little steep for what they were, I feel like the cheese covered up the taste of the oyster. Perhaps the raw oysters are better. This was the only thing I wouldn't necessarily order again. The fish tacos were a great deal, $16.50 for 3 tacos and sweet potato fries. The amount of fish in each taco was great and I liked that the tortilla was a bit crispy. Toppings were a bit simple, the jalapeño was interesting, definitely different than a typical fish taco. Sweet potato fries were crispy and generous serving! Tried a bit of the lobster and shrimp grilled cheese, very heavenly and indulgent!

Omg I was craving fish and chips and found this place that's like 40min away but now that I see it!!! It's all worth it. From the start, customer service is amazing! I felt it being genuine, as soon as we entered the restaurant. The ladies serving tables were so sweet, nice and welcoming!!! The first timer sampler of fried oysters nachos and the soups, was amazing!!! It gave us the opportunity to try all soups and the famous oyster nachos!! And we were need up ordering more of those appetizers and went for the creamy bisque and clam chowder soup!!! Both were savory, creamy and on point!! Delicious When our food was brought to table, omg the eyes were eating first!!! Food looked fresh and smelled fresh!! We ordered the fish and chips, honey chipotle shrimp tacos, crab bisque cream, clam chowder, and let me start by saying when you come in restaurant "it doesn't smell fishy!" That's a big plus for me!!! Because fishy is not good... The haddock fish is so creamy, soft and just cooked to perfection!! The beer batter is not too thick, it has that perfect crunch where it's not too much batter!! The big chunks of fried fish are big so you will definitely have leftover!! Yay!!! The honey chipotle tacos were amazing!! Just enough spice and very savory! Cooked to perfection!! The sauce was amazing!! And the carrots added that crunch that made the taco a great choice! The drinks were so good!!! Refreshing!!! Try the dragon Paloma but don't get tipsy because I did!! Eat before you drink hahahha ohh and the perfect patron margarita was also amazing Flavor, service, ambiance!!! Awesome They are doing everything great!!! One of our favorite spots!!! You been added to my list!!!

My friend had a card that was handed out at the Tides and Taste event being held at the Sugarland Town Square. It was for a free appetizer at Fish City Grill. We ordered shrimp nachos. They're delicious. The dish comes with sour cream on the side and jalapeños. Cadez was a great waitress. She was friendly and serviceable though we only had the free appetizers with the cards. I did order a punchline mocktail. It's got hibiscus and a mix of sweet and tart. It's refreshing. I wish the size were larger since there's no alcohol and it's $7. The card handout is a great promotion and I plan to go back to try other things.

This was my first time at Fish City Grill at Sugar Land Town Square. The place is amazing as I was here meeting a friend for appetizers during dinnertime. I ordered gumbo. It was delicious. I was told this was a special dark roux. The dish was spicy enough for me. I sampled a piece of calamari from my friend's order. It was tasty with the sauce. The parking was a little tricky. I wish there was some information about the parking at the restaurant. I parked in the garage. There were numbers at the stalls. Not sure if my car would get towed. I had to hurry up and finished eating. I think I would return. I want to try other dishes. I will find a better parking next time.

    Underbaked oysters

Cook does not know how to bake oysters. Food was not worth half the price. Service was horrendous and we were the only table for this waitress. Waitress lied about having Alfredo pasta and gave us spicy seafood pasta. Save yourself the dissatisfaction.

Very inviting staff and clean establishment. The workers are so fast and easy to communicate with. Decided to order half a dozen of oysters, shrimp po boy, and fishwich. Everything was so good! The portions are huge here. To be honest, I liked both the sandwiches...couldn't pick a favorite. Would definitely come back here

One of our favorites it town center! The food is always great. The clam chowder is always a favorite and has a lot of clam in it. The fried seafood is also good. We love all the appetizer options too. The oyster nachos are a must but eat then soon bc the chip on the bottom gets a little soggy. The workers are all so nice and helpful. They are always ready when you need help and ready to accommodate. It is a really cute family friendly restaurant. Never super packed or loud. It's a close proximity to the center, so you can hear the performances or walk right out after dinner! I will always recommend this place!

I was around the area because my family flew in from California for an event close by. But luckily they were staying in town center. We had to go back because they forgot their backpack in car and decided to eat out. There lots of businesses to dine in but ultimately decided to try Fish City Grill. Fortunately for us we were able to stop in about an hour before closing. But the restaurant is very casual with also outdoor dining. My family and I decided to pick the calamari as an appetizer and I selected the seafood platter but upgraded to the beer batter cod instead of the catfish. The calamari is good and breaded nicely with Parmesan. The sauces were tartar and sweet chili sauce. The seafood platter has nice variety and they do have an option to have it grilled or fried but fried was the best route since I picked the cod. It did also come with a cole slaw but was definitely different from the usual ones I would have with fried chicken. Also when I do get beer batter cod, I always have to look for the malt vinegar. Overall it was a solid visit. I would think Fish City Grill is nice for a local seafood restaurant that anyone can stop in for drinks as well. My only small takeaway was not with our server he was awesome but the other staff. We were looking to get some ketchup but our server was a bit busy with other orders. There were staff around and especially one right next to us folding silverware and tried to call their attention but were preoccupied with the tasks head down or passed us by straight ahead. But other than that it was an ok visit. Our severer was great but everything else didn't really leave me with a memorable remark to come back. They are located next to Baker St. Pub and offer fish and chips, I would prefer there if I was looking for it. I would be 50/50 on a comeback

This place was a knockout in mine and my husband's opinion! We went on a date last night and we can't wait to go back already. The service was friendly, the food was delicious and the environment was very welcoming. The food came out quick. I did order a Bloody Mary and it was a thicker consistency than I like. It was hard to get down but with the celery, shrimp, and olive, I managed. We shared 2 plates (we were going to do 3 but we got full quick lol)- the FCG Sampler, which came with calamari, fried pickles, and their shrimp and crab queso. The queso was SO good, SO flavorful. The calamari came with a sweet chili sauce which we enjoyed. The fried pickles could have used more seasoning, it was a little bland but still good. We ordered a dozen of the gulf oysters and these suckers were HUGE. We were a little uncomfortable with how big they were but nevertheless, we still enjoyed them and appreciated the size (everything is bigger/better in Texas I guess lol)! We will definitely be back!

I really wish Yelp allowed ratings in half star increments. I would have rated this restaurant 3.5 stars. At the end of the day, I asked myself would I want to come back, and if the answer was yes, then I would round up, and if the answer was no, I would round down. I determined the latter. The atmosphere and decor are very nice. Gives the vibes of a very casual, but clean seafood restaurant. I really wanted to like this place as I'm still looking for a go-to for this type of restaurant in Houston, a place for chilled seafood like oysters, shrimp, crabs, etc. The service as good. The location is great given it's in the CityWalk Center. It was our first time at CityWalk and I would definitely go back as there seemed to be lots of restaurant choices to try. My daughter and I had lunch here today. We had: Dozen oysters (6 gulf and 6 blue point). I don't give ratings on raw oysters themselves as it requires no skill from the restaurant, but I will say that for the prices they charge (~$3/oyster), I would expect the presentation to be nicer and for there to be more accompanying sauces than just cocktail sauce. The presentation is just on a aluminum tray on a bed of ice. Peel and eat shrimp - Same as above in terms of presentation. The shrimps were cooked well. Clam Chowder - 4/5 - The soup was very good rendition of a classic New England clam chowder. Shrimp Po'boy - 3/5 - My daughter and I split the sandwich. It was "okay" in every way. Shrimps were well grilled but other than that nothing stood out about the bread or the sauces.

We had a great experience at Fish City Grill in Sugar Land! We came before the town square Oktoberfest and really enjoyed ourselves. The team was great, especially our waitress, Robyn, who was very friendly, attentive and timely. We both tried the shrimp and grits and I had a margarita, both of which were great and worth the price imo. We sat outside and it was a nice day, comfortable and pleasant.

This week I joined an oyster tasting. From raw, fried, chargrilled, and more. The good was scrumptious, flavorable and just enough. Although it was a tasting service was top notch. The ambiance in the restaurant was family friendly. We had the following: raw oysters with a vinegarette.. I never had raw oysters but with the lemon and vinegarette they were tasty. Next we had oyster nachos, OMG!! This right here.. It was a tortilla shell with a warm chipotle tarter sauce, the fried oyster and fresh Pico on top. Then came the chargrilled oysters with butter parmesan cheese(a tad salty) but still good. We even had an entree Grilled Red Fish with Thanksgiving Iyster dressing. I was passed full at this point but out came dessert. You could choose from key lime pie or bread pudding with a Rum sauce. Both were good. Did I say we also had a spearing drink with each item.. What a night.. I will be going back for lunch, dinner or happy hour.

We were greeted and seated promptly, and our host was friendly, patient, and accommodating throughout the experience. Since we were unfamiliar with the menu, our server gave us plenty of time to look everything over without making us feel rushed. The menu photos definitely did their job. Everything looked so good that we ended up ordering more than we probably needed. Unfortunately, the food did not quite live up to the pictures. The biggest issue for me was seasoning. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out either. As someone from New Orleans, I am accustomed to food being seasoned throughout the cooking process, so the flavors here felt noticeably muted. I was especially looking forward to the grilled oysters. Unfortunately, they were not what I expected. There was quite a bit of liquid underneath the melted Parmesan, and the oysters lacked the garlic and seasoning I was hoping for. Instead of that rich, savory flavor I associate with properly prepared grilled oysters, they mostly tasted like oysters, seawater, and Parmesan. The fish was another dish that fell short. The crust had a texture that reminded me of crushed corn flakes, and the seasoning did not penetrate the dish the way I would have liked. The sauces and étouffée seemed more like toppings placed on the food rather than components that brought the entire dish together. That was probably the biggest difference between what I experienced here and what I would expect from a New Orleans-style restaurant. That said, the restaurant is not bad. In fact, the service was excellent, and the staff deserves credit for making us feel welcome. The decor has a nostalgic, casual feel, although I think the restaurant could benefit from an update. The prices were mid-range, and the overall experience reminded me of Denny's with a Cajun flair. That is not necessarily a bad thing. I could see this being a good spot for a casual lunch, a daytime meal, or even a teenager having their first date. Would I come back? Possibly, especially for the service and casual atmosphere. But if I am craving the bold, deeply seasoned flavors of New Orleans, I would probably keep looking. Bottom line: Great service, decent food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Just do not come expecting the full New Orleans flavor experience.

The space itself is massive with plenty of indoor seating, so even with the usual Sunday crowd, we got a table without any long, drawn-out wait. The atmosphere is completely laid back, loud, and smells like pure garlic and butter the second you walk through the door. For the main event, I went with the Combo #10, which comes loaded with a half-pound of snow crab legs, a half-pound of headless shrimp, a half-pound of sausage, three boiled eggs, corn, and potatoes. I opted for the signature Juicy Crab seasoning at the hot level. My baseline for heat is naturally pretty high, and while this didn't have me sweating, it had a legit, beautiful kick with serious depth. It wasn't just mindless spice; the garlic-heavy cajun blend was firing on all cylinders, and every single thing in that bag was perfectly saturated. The crab was sweet and slid right out of the shell, and the sausage added a great smoky contrast to the seafood. Because we clearly have no portion control, we also shared the shrimp fried rice. Usually, side dishes at boil joints are a dry afterthought, but this was surprisingly elite. It was savory, packed with a generous amount of shrimp, and served as the perfect canvas to pour the leftover bag juice over. By the end of the meal, the table was a complete disaster, but the flavor and execution were top-tier. I will absolutely be back to handle business again.
