The crawfish were amazing! Extended family from Los Angeles were in town and wanted crawfish. Since they were staying with family in Sugar Land and I was driving up from Corpus Christi, I wanted to find something near in them that I knew had good seafood. I got a six pound bag of crawfish that we could all share as well as some gumbo. We had an excellent time and did our best not to be too messy shucking crawfish. Happy hour at lotus with friends. It was Good Friday so it was a full house. We had seats reserved so we just had to stand in line to order food. I ordered the lemon pepper wings and crawfish and shrimp fried rice. I had beer so nothing to report there. The wings were good, juicy and plentiful. The crab and shrimp rice left a lot to be desired. The shrimp and crawfish were barely visible. I tasted the loud box shrimp and rice, will get that next time and the Lotus sauce. The shrimp baked potato looked appetizing too. My friends had drinks and they enjoyed them. Food came out on a good time and we enjoyed ourselves. I frequent the lotus on Veterans Memorial mostly, as it's closer to my house. I've heard so many great things about the Stafford location and since I was in the area, I decided to give it a try. Needless to say I will stick with my veterans memorial location, while Stafford has the bells and whistles of a nice, updated area inside, it's nothing like the customer service at veterans and the food and flavors at veterans. Maybe I am a little bias. Lol. Portions on my loud pack felt like I was most definitely missing some items. The food was hot and fresh, just missing my veterans memorial flavors. Yes at Stafford, you get daiquiris which I thought did not have any alcohol in them and mixed drinks. I felt as if I was having a slushy, and not the one from sonic. The mixed drinks might be good, but I didn't try those so I can't speak on them. It is counter service and you clean your own tables, granted the person before you clean up behind themselves. If you're in the area, I suggest you give it a try otherwise I would not make a commute just to go here. It's pretty basic to say the least. read more

On this visit, I more so came for family time as I was still full from my massive lunch. However, lol, it is hard to go to Lotus and not get anything, so I got corn on the cob, sausage, and a daiquiri which was just what my taste buds and appetite needed. The sausage and corn was of course flavorful and my daiquiri blend was great. The good thing about Lotus' daiquiri's is that you get to sample your desired blends (as many as needed) until you have your desired combination. BEST FLAVORING HANDS DOWN! Food: I had the hot pot. Only because bugs are out of season. Oh man. The sauce was amazing, the boil was just right on peel for shrimp and crab. Then the owner kindly gave me some crack sauce. I know why they call it crack sauce now. By the end of dinner I was sucking it out of a bag trying to get my fix. Ambiance: It's just right for what it is. It's clean, and it smells like delicious seafood boil. Nothing too fancy. Good solid seafood with a cool low key vibe. Haven't tried other locations but this location have plenty parking spots available. I appreciate the ease of parking. I love they have happy hour during the week. They have boil or fried seafood options with a full bar. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to your table. We usually get the boiled shrimp pack that comes with 1 corn and 1 potato. Portions are hefty with plenty leftover. This time we tried the boiled crawfish which were a little hard and I've had better to be honest. Wouldn't get the crawfish again. But the wings are delicious! My favorite go to place for boiled shrimp and or wings. The Louisiana remix and Louisiana rub flavors are my favorites for the wings. I could see ordering a 10 piece with fried rice and being completely content. Overall for 2; we spent about $60 with the tip. Next time I'll try the fried rice! read more

First time visiting Lotus Seafood, and I'm definitely coming back! The place wasn't crowded at all, so there was plenty of seating to choose from. I loved that they have a full bar with TVs all around, making it easy to relax and enjoy a good meal. They offer a nice selection of daiquiris, cocktails, and mixed drinks--perfect for pairing with their amazing seafood. And I have to mention the crack sauce! This sauce is out of this world, so if you go, just trust me and order extra packets--you'll thank yourself later. The service was fantastic, too. The guy working the cashier was super friendly and took the time to explain each dish since it was my first visit. I really appreciated how thorough he was in helping me choose. Lotus is definitely one of my top spots for fried fish. The catfish fillets are cooked to perfection--crispy, well-seasoned, and consistently good. My family enjoys visiting the Stafford location, and the food keeps us coming back. That said, there are a few areas that could improve. The customer service could be better, as some staff members do not consistently show politeness or strong customer service skills. Additional training would make a noticeable difference. Cleanliness is another concern. Customers are expected to clean up after themselves, but not everyone does, which can leave the dining area messy and affect other guests. More frequent table checks or staff support would help keep the space cleaner. The sides are not the best, but they are decent. The crack sauce is good, although I do not like that there is an extra charge for it. Even so, we still purchase it. Overall, despite these issues, we enjoy Lotus and will continue to be customers. read more

Lotus used to be my favorite for spicy crab legs and shrimp. I always used to go to Lotus when they were at main location off belfort. Today I stopped at the one in Mo City. Ordering was easy but they were out of fried green tomatoes...which is what I wanted to try. We got the loaded hot box, kids popcorn shrimp and fries, a Hurricane Wine drink and the fried Oyster, side of mac, fries and fish plate. My hot box was good but my sons mac was given to him in an enclosed mini to go plastic container and was barley warm. He liked the fries but not the shrimp. My mom ate her fish but she said it was gritty and passed on the 2nd piece. The front desk people were very nice and the decor of cartoon characters was cute...they have a full bar too....but since the food didn't wow me this time I won't be back to this location. read more

Stopped In for Early Dinner. Place is decorated nice! Painted anime on the wall. A little loud (I'm old but it was loud in there). Steady stream of patrons. Food was great except the Fried Rice. We had Boudin Balls and the Happy Hour Shrimp pak which was a pound of shrimp a potato a corn in a great garlic butter sauce. We also ordered 2 catfish filets really good! We ordered wings to go from Lotus seafood and they didn't disappoint! For one, for the price and size of their wings we were surprised! Most places are charged a ridiculous amount for the tiniest wings. I do wish that they were a bit crispier and less greasy. But that's just our taste. First time @ this location for a bday celebration. Got there around 3 & it wasn't crowded, but about 30 mins later the place got really crowded. You order @ the counter & they bring you your food. I got the loud pack with shrimp med spice. There were plenty of shrimp, but very little everything else. However it was good! The sauce named crack sauce really amped the flavor up. I also had their crawfish & they were delicious. My biggest complaint would be the baby plastic forks they give you to eat with. Overall I liked the vibe & I'll definitely be back for more crawfish while they're in season & I'll try something else on their menu. read more

This was so much fun. Like who doesn't like this place? I have never been to a Lotus Seafood, so I didn't know what to expect. The aesthetic is like bar with a fake club vibe, when you're walking in the building wall/door is changing colors. Lots of tv and people dressing up and looking chic. Interesting enough, lots of young hip people and people getting ready to go out for a night to party. I think what makes this "trendy" place different from other trendy places was that it didn't have snobby vibes. The staff helped with the non snobby vibes. It was obvious I was never there before and the guy helped me with some suggestions recommending the catfish over the trout, because the trout had bones and for a first timer- that was a smart pick. Because you will DEVOUR all the food. On to that later. Staff was courteous, kind, got along well, and they were frequently bussing tables. Food...I had the fried catfish and shrimp. My husband had the fried oysters and catfish. The breading...it was like the pictures you see on breading boxes at the spice/herb aisle like at HEB, but with more flavor. It's perfectly breaded/covered with spices and cooked perfectly. I love the cajun flavors, spices, and the golden brown texture of the fried fish. The fried breading wasn't too thick and it let you enjoy the fish more. The fried oyster I tasted from my husband was okay, for a left over. The fries, and fish held up well as left overs the next day too. The tarter sauce was thick and creamy. I think it really paired well with the fish. I know there's po-boys and other stuff, but I'm really excited to just keep getting more of the fried food. With the happy ambience, the fun people watching, non snobby vibes, and good food, this is a great place to go eat or start your night out on the town before you go partying, clubbing, or even back at home to play dungeons and dragons.
