Simple place with great lake views and even better food. Oyster Raw were only 75 cents and tasted super fresh. Blackened Alligator was delicious and I would get again in a heartbeat. Broccoli crisp and fresh. Hush puppies were sweet like a desert. This old Wisconsin boy doesn't eat grits every day but I would if they tasted as good as their cheesy grits. Decided to try the Fish N' Pig based on the Yelp reviews, and I have to say it was awesome. It was Saturday night and we arrived around 6 pm while the band was setting up outside on the deck stage. We put our name on the waiting list and was told it would be about 30 minutes (which was accurate to about the minute). While we were waiting for our pager to go off, we bought a couple of Cokes and beer at the outside bar and enjoyed the pre-show music as well as the band until our table was ready. The food was exactly as we expected, tasty and a decent portion. Now keep in mind, they were extremely busy, and it took a bit of time for our dinners to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. We decided to go with the Po Boy sandwiches, and we're not disappointed. Go for the food, go for the atmosphere, go for the fun of eating great food on the lake. Definitely a local's hang out - which is part of the reason we chose it. Plus it's kid friendly, and reasonably priced. read more

My kids, ages 5 and 3, have not stopped asking for a return visit for the last 3 months. I'm not a huge bbq fan so my review of the food wouldn't be fair but I did love the hush puppies. My first visit after many friends recommended. I had fried gator appetizer (delicious but a tad on the chewy side). The fried crayfish was also tasty but a tad chewy. The grilled scallops were perfection. The mac and cheese was homemade and slightly bland but good. The coleslaw was definitely homemade and quite good. My sister had low country boil and the sausage was homemade and amazing; all just the right spice. My mother had the ribeye which was well marbled and tender. My son had catfish which was quite good. My nephew had pasta alfredo with grilled chicken and raved about it. The portions are generous. The ambiance was fun, not too formal, but I can see it being date appropriate. Apparently they have live music on Friday and Saturday night, weather depending. Karaoke on Thursday nights. I will definitely be going back. read more

On a Saturday night at 6 my family and I went to Fish N' Pig. There was lots of parking and a beautiful view. We went in and were immediately seated by a window over the lake. They also have cute outdoor seating. The sweet tea was good. You definitely get the amount of food that you pay for at this restaurant. My family enjoyed all of the food and the service. They have a good atmosphere. My only complaint was that I really like pulled pork, BUT at this restaurant you cannot get it without the BBQ sauce. read more

Amazing I found the best fish restaurants in Macon. Who would have ever thought one could get great raw oysters and blackened scallops in the middle of GA. The first one was Jim Shaw's the next was Fish and Pig. If you don't like fish you must like pork this was a terrific restaurant. It sits on the lake with beautiful views and wonderful food I highly recommend it. It's only 7 1/2 miles from Mercer University. read more

For our 50th Wedding Anniversary our 4 daughters hosted a party for family and friends to celebrate the occasion at Fish and Pig in early 2022. The Boathouse which is a large enclosed climate controlled room built over Lake Tobesofkee was reserved. There were quite a few people at the event but there was plenty of room. The staff was very friendly, service exceptional and the heavy hors d'oeuvre was very good. A hearty big thank you to all the staff!!! What's good here? The fried catfish is delish. Their name, Fish N' Pig, tells you what they're good at making. When you order fish or pork, it's hard to go wrong. All other things we tried were sub-par. We ordered cocktails, fried catfish, cheesy grits, ribs. The catfish was good. The cocktails were ok. The grits could use a bit more cheese or seasoning or something. The ribs were good & tender. The place is brightly coloured. This aesthetic was echoed in the audio - the music was turned up so loud that it was difficult to carry on a conversation but we somehow managed. The place is extensive so there's plenty of seating but they close at 9pm and were very hesitant about seating/serving us shortly after 8pm even though there were other parties still dining. Our server seemed apathetic and dropped a catfish on the floor. She said we probably wouldn't want that & chucked it back on her tray without ever bringing out another one. Other than that experience, the rest of the staff seemed friendly. read more

The good: Beautiful setting on Lake Tobesofkee. Boats pull right up to the docks of this place and come on in. Huge decks with views to die for of the lake, and you'll wait on a weekend night to get in the place but it's worth it. Live music most Saturday nights starting at 7pm. My fav appetizer is the blackened crayfish (fear not-it's just the meat) and/or a dozen steamed oysters. I consider their oysters the best you can find in Georgia! My fav entree isn't necessarily on the menu: Grilled shrimp but I ask for them with the blacken seasoning (but don't order the blackened shrimp), after they are served I squeeze a whole small bowl of lemon pieces on top of them and then empty one little cup of drawn butter on top of them and add a little salt and it's absolutely to die for!!! Cheese grits are delicious and cheesy. Fried shrimp, fries, fried alligator, fried catfish, blackened tilapia are good here too. Sweet tea is also good here. Note: Skip the deserts and the most of the bbq menu. IF you have to have BBQ then the smoked wings are awesome and the half smoked chicken is really good too but not the pork! I really do not like their bbq sauce, if they added a sweet bbq sauce it would be so much better! It took me awhile to figure out what was good to get here, so use my suggestions to avoid a bad experience! The ugly: Smoking section near check-in counter and while waiting to be seated you have to smell the people at the bar smoking. Saturday band night get busy, get here by 4:30pm or you could be waiting over an hour to be seated! read more

Where else can you get the best seafood and best barbecue?? What a concept!! I've never had a bad item on the menu. The fish tacos and the steaks are awesome!! Their sides are so good too that I often just make up my own veggie plate when I'm not very hungry. If they offered a veggie plate, I would have given 5 stars The bar area and porch dining area are very nice. Drinks are always good. The summer music on the patio is always a fun time. Food was all delicious! I got the grilled shrimp & ribs and the ribs were so tender, falling off the bone. The shrimp was some of the best I've had! My friends got the catfish and they loved it. Great atmosphere, so nice by the lake. The only down side was our waitress forgot to bring out my salad and part of my friends meal and never refilled any drinks unless you asked. read more

This place was very, very packed when we went. It was about an hour wait. It was all fried food nastiness. We ordered the gator bites and they came out drenched and I mean drenched in grease! Gross. The salad was good and I ordered the grilled shrimp which were also good. All the sides were mediocre at best but the only one that was worth it was the sweet potato casserole (definitely not low fat either!) So if I ever go back, which I doubt I will, I'd order a salad topped with grilled shrimp and maybe the sweet potato casserole again...everything was aghhh....wayyy too greasy! Aug 29th I took JoBeth to the Fish n Pig for her 32nd Birthday since she has never been here before. JB ordered the fish fillet dinner and she loved it along with the fried ocra. I ordered my usual Blacken Alligator tail. The live band did great even singing happy birthday to JB by the end of the night. We met up with some good friend that lived on the other side of the lake and we stayed longer ordering more drinks and talking until they closed 12am. Didn't know what to expect just picking a place called Fish & Pig. Wow! What a surprise. Had their Fish & Pig combo (grilled shrimp and ribs) and they were excellent. Shrimp plump and juicy and the ribs fell off the bone. They don't serve the ribs with any BBQ sauce (they bring it to the table) and honestly, they don't need it. Don't be fooled by the name. This place is awesome! And it has a very nice patio overlooking the lake! read more

We went on a Saturday night--great live music and a beautiful evening on the lake. There were tons of people! We ate outside which had an abbreviated menu. The wait for an inside table (on this gorgeous night!) was 2 hours. People did not seem to mind as they could sit outside and enjoy the music and have a beer while they waited. We had 2 kids with us. There is a kids menu inside, but nothing on the smaller scale outside. They enjoyed the fun setting and the food, but it was maybe a little pricey to buy a whole meal for them. Our 6yo could have done well to just get a side of Mac n cheese instead of a meal. As far as food, I would give it an overall 3 stars, but the atmosphere of the place overall warrants 4 stars! I had the grilled shrimp basket. It was delicious! Others in my family had the shrimp po' boy (yummy) and pulled pork (ehhh..). The cheeseburger also got good reviews. Two regulars recommended the alligator, but no one at my table was feeling gator tonight. Sides: potato (), Cole slaw (), Mac n cheese (). Boiled peanuts... Just one of those cultural southern things that I will never appreciate. :) We'd definitely come back and will look for the Fish n Pig on our next trip. read more

The hostesses were getting testy with guests that had been waiting over twice what they expected and were asking for updated estimates, extremely unprofessional. The food was subpar as well. Hostess was nice. Waited 45 minutes for a very disappointing meal. Waited 7 minutes to be greeted by server, we had the gator bites for appetizer which was ok. Nothing to go back for. The fish tacos was just clumps of fish, and bland slaw. No tomatoes etc. The pork dinner came out without any bbq sauce and I had to wait for the waitress to finally come by and get me some, which was a 2oz ramekin filled 1/2 way, and the potato soufflé was not a soufflé at all. It was mashed up sweet potato with pecans on top. No brown sugar at all. The women's restroom was disgusting and there were no paper towels in the womens or mens restrooms. High expectations but extremely disappointing. I went on a Saturday and my stomach is still upset today. Ordered the crawfish and received a generous portion. The oil was running off the batter. Tried to soak it up with paper napkins but truly covered in oil. Ate a little bit and took the rest home hoping I could bake some oil out but didn't work. Called to place a to go order, and was told to go orders were not accepted by phone nor by actually going and placing a to go order on Friday and Saturday. Reason for this was it would overload the kitchen. This without a doubt is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard. If you are that dang busy on Friday and Saturday night why in the heck do you not hire more help?? Or have you just made so much money you don't care about call in orders?? Wow - this place sucked!!! We ordered BBQ and regretted it. The potato salad was worse than a grocery store's deli - it was watery and overly sweet. Pork was swimming in a sauce that had no resemblance to Bbq sauce, and the turkey was dry and of questionable quality. And the setting and service? While the lake viwe was nice enough, the place reaked of cigarette smoke, the waitress was condescending, and the prices were too high. But the beer was cold. So, if you must, order a beer, look at the lake, and get dinner elsewhere. read more

Holy SHIT! The Best Low Country Boil that I have ever had! Killing Joe's Crab Shack! It's only $14.99 too! The "Skrimp" (Shrimp) are large & juicy, the sausage is AMAZING and the corn & slaw were on point too! Not to mention the scenery! The Ducks & Geese are EVERYWHERE, ESPECIALLY when you feed them the $0.25 dog food! They literally fight each other! I love this place! I am driving back home specifically for this place! read more
