We came by here after a recommendation as my usual fave, Richie Rich, completely fell off. We got oxtail plates which were delicious- the cabbage was fresh, rice and pea and oxtail was amazing. I believe they have great drinks as well and I hope to try those next time I'm around.

This review is based on their delivery service... I ordered from Fish N' Ting on a Sunday afternoon. My order took one hour and 30mins to arrive. Once it did arrived I was extremely disappointed with their packaging. The plate almost dropped out of the wet paper bag. The paper bag was wet because the top of the plate was not properly secured allowing the sauce from the pasta to leak out. It was an absolute mess. The Fish N' Ting chicken pasta that I ordered was ok (a tad sweeter than what I prefer) but the majority of the sauce was in the bag.

I am a rum drinker so I was in heaven when we went to Fish N' Ting for Dinner. All I was thinking about was their rum punch and how many I can throw back (not many). I ordered the Jerk Chicken with the peas and rice. It was really good, very moist and not dried out. My rum punch was the best rum punch I ever had in the Bronx. Not too sweet and you can taste the Wray & Nephew rum. I'm so glad I wasn't the designated driver because we would have had to call an Uber. The wait staff was friendly and they look like they enjoy their job. They all seem so happy and had big smiles on their face and I smiled right back at them. It was not my first time here and it definitely won't be my last time. I'm glad that I don't live too far from Fish N' Ting.

Spantanous Sunday night cocktails with one of my girls. After two months in SC, we needed to partake in a little girl chat catch up. With the minimum requirements of good drinks and no excessive travel, she suggested FnT. Just so happens to be in her regular rotation and in my bookmarked collection. As many before me, when I bookmarked FnT I was under the impression that it was the typical West Indian to-go spot. To my surprise it is just that and more. If you would like to sip and dine then you head to the back where they have revamped and covered some outdoor space. We grabbed a high-top table off to the side and ordered some drinks and a couple of small bites. The Island Rum punch ($12) was good but not addictive like some of the best rum punches can be, I still had a couple along with a G-spot ($12). I ordered the G-spot last and enjoyed it more then the punch, I am aware that after a few rum punches my judgement could've been a little a skew but it was good. We ordered Callaloo Spring Rolls($6) and Fish Fingers($10) and both were very tasty with the fish fingers leaving a lasting impression over the spring rolls for me. Service was kind, attentive and helpful. All drinks and food were served promptly. The restrooms could've used some detailed attention, thankfully I only required it to wash my hands. We didn't order entrées because that wasn't what the night called for. However, on my return a food exploration is in order, as I have heard it's good and the Rasta Pasta is definitely worth a try. Just A Note: The area can appear desolate at night to those unfamiliar with the area when the car dealerships close for business and parking can be a challenge but it's not impossible.

I had mac & cheese, festivals and ordered my family chicken fried rice and stewed chicken. Everything was good. By the way restaurant called to let me know that they couldn't do the chicken the way I ordered it to ask if we still want to continue with our order, good customer service.

My friend suggested we hit this place. Thank god she check this place out online before we went... so she knew to ask for seating in the back. We were seated under one of the space heaters, but we had to ask someone to turn it off. After the guy turned it off... a girl from the table a few feet away say "I liked the heat"... We were like "Nah! That's directly on us and it's too hot. I ordered the Festival, Mac and cheese, Shrimp Rasta Pasta and Island Rum Punch. Festivals, Mac and cheese, Rum punch and Plantains arrived at the table. We told the waitress that we didn't order Plantains and we clarified it would not be on the check. It was on the check and we had to ask for it to be removed. Let me say though; I loved the Festivals. I wouldn't get the Rasta pasta again. My friend also ordered something to go but that wasn't sorted correctly. Our waiter was friendly and polite, so we weren't bother by it as much while he got the order corrected. We also had a surprised guest of the night. A racoon walked across the top of the tarp overhead... loved the last look before it disappeared back into the night.

Walk in and you are in what seems like you average bronx West Indian carryout spot. However to the left is a walkway that leads to a covered and well heated insulated outdoor restaurant. (I did hear some sitting by the walls complain of a draft but they had large tiki like heaters). We arrived at 930pm on a Saturday night. We waited about two minutes standing in the walkway without being acknowledged. At that point a waiter shouted across from about 3 tables over to two waitresses standing right in front of us chatting "hey you not gonna seat them." Service altogether was slow. To get our food. To be checked on. To attract someone to get glasses of water. To get the check. Only our drinks and food order was taken quickly. And at one point they brought out food and placed it in front of me....food I didn't order and that belonged to the table over. Food: We had the rum punch and lychee martini. Drinks were strong and delicious. To eat we had the fish fingers...served hot and good but could've used a tad more salt. The chicken and shrimp fried rice which was delicious. This is a huge portion that could easily feed 2. Not stingy at all on the shrimp. Brown stew snapper was good but unmemorable. And a side of festival which comes as knots and are amazing. Food made this place worth it. *note the actual dishes/plates are large and the tables small. They might want to rethink this because we had to do a lot of plate rearranging *

Festivals here are pretty good; everything else is a bit blah. The jerk isn't really flavorful, just spicy and the rice is H A R D. Mac and cheese was very disappointing; they didn't skimp on the cheese but it's just a congealed block. Chicken fried rice is okay though.

I have to say that the first time I ordered take out it was delicious. I ordered oxtails, peas and rice with cabbage, I was very surprised by the portion amount and the taste was flavorful. The spices were right on, I even had some left over. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone, you will be satisfied. read more

After posting my review Aretha reached out. It seems DoorDash was the one to cancel the order and she wanted to make the situation right. After a few messages and emails back and forth today they dropped off food free of charge.. It was well worth the wait.. the food is amazing and the customer service and attention to service is above and beyond. Thanks Aretha for making it right. I'll be calling them directly and ordering so they can get all my business and don't have to pay DoorDash moving forward. read more

On 10/7/17 - We decided to order the chicken and shrimp pasta, based on others reviews raving about it. We were very hungry and looking forward to the food. WHAT A BAD IDEA!!!! The food was flavorless, and had a funny smell. It was so bad on our palates that the little we tired, left a nasty after taste on our tongues. Needless to say, we threw away the food, because it was that bad and inedible. What a waste of $35. This was my first time eating here, and will DEFINITELY be my last. There is just no coming back from a meal like that. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED read more

My lady and I went here on a Saturday night and we sat at the bar. Food is AMAZING!!!Fresh and tasty, food definitely took a while to come out. But the place is so busy you have to expect to wait. Waitress was nice but wasnt around that much because of how busy it was. All of their food is very good and very fresh but the wait time and lack of attention is what made me give this place a 3. Id recommend people to go if you really want some authentic jamaican food. Just dont expect speedy service. read more

The food was very tasty and in great portions. The drinks and atmosphere were on point. If you want a "little" taste of the islands definitely stop in. While the place offers an authentic feel, I have to agree with other reviews regarding the wait staff. I am West Indian, however being born here left me feeling slightly disadvantaged in terms of friendliness. But I brushed it off and enjoyed my experience, so I am sure you can too. read more

This is my favorite Friday night spot... I always start with the Rum Punch...the roasted stuffed whole red snapper is a friday night special and a must-have...but I just can't leave without that sweat potato pudding....(get an extra slice to go...it is the best with coffee in the morning) To top it off awsome staff..people are friendly... fun atmosphere. .. read more

Ate there pre-COVID and loved the food and thought I left a review. The vibe of the "backyard" is amazing and homey with good food, strong drinks, and great songs to match. I ordered via Uber Eats today and again, falling in love like day 1. I ordered the shrimp rasta pasta and mac and cheese. The mac & cheese is personally not how I like my mac & cheese but nevertheless still has flavor so I can't knock it down. But best rasta pasta I've had in the Bronx! read more

The service here is horrible. One lady in particular is rude as hell she sees a worker helping make me and my friends order and she stops him just so he can bring her dirty dishes in the back like her lazy ass couldn't do it herself. Me and my friend were in there for a hour just to get our food and hmwe ordered to go. We waited about 20-30 minutes just for someone to take our order and we were the only ones waiting. I'm only giving 3 stars because I feel bad for the poor guy that was serving us he seemed new so he was still learning. The food is ok I've had better. read more

First time coming here. We sdecided to sit by the bar. Very nice vibe. The food was good, i had oxtail rice & peas with cabbage. My friend had the fried lobster tail with potatoes which was also good. The food took close to an hour to come out & i kinda got a little annoyed but i got over it once i got my food lol. We both had the rum punch & it was strong but good. Overall i would deff reccomend this place! :) read more

Rasta pasta was amazing and the service was good! I liked the entire vibe of this place. Don't remember our server's name but she was very nice and made sure we were well taken care off. Food is good however service is not. My husband and I usually call orders in and then pick up however no one was answering the phones. We drove over and once inside there, received no eye contact, no guidance on how to place an order and an attitude that we were being a bother for coming to spend money. Perhaps because it was busy however isn't that what restaurants want? Very uncomfortable to feel that staff is going out of their way not to make eye contact or acknowledge the several patrons standing up waiting to order. read more

Hidden jewel in the Bronx! The rum punch is soooo good The food is delish! I had the fried talapia which seemed to be air fried. The Rasta pasta is on point. You may wait a while for the food to come but it's well worth it! It comes out piping hot. The place is small and quaint like you're going to a friend's house to eat. I am giving 3 stars to the dining experience. The food was good but not worth another dine in may be take out only. The wait staff seemed confused and disorganized. The wait to get our food after we ordered was some what excessive. We ordered three entries and one appetizer and we did not receive the appetizer also my meal came with a side of rice and I also did not receive the side ordered of the rice. I would only suggest the take out maybe, but definitely not the dine in experience. read more

Delicious and Tasty !!! With my family came here and had brown stew chicken with rice & peas and plantain, curry shrimp . Curry shrimp was very tasteful. All Food tastes great and good spot for Jamaican food. The drinks we had had fresh fruits. This place is fantastic, the food is delicious and the staff is amazing. The food is reasonably priced and the drinks are good. I can recommend the jerk and curry chicken dishes, they are pretty damn delicious, and the portions are huge. Stay away from the punch, it's disgustingly sweet. Parking in this area is a bit sketchy, but I'm sure it just looks rougher than it actually is. read more

Response: Exactly Your Camera shows Everything, Shows me sitting calm being respectful. Not initiating violence. My Bill completely paid for plus double tips due to your employees stealing each other's tips. The customer showed me a poster. Then was about to put it back exactly how they found it. Until one of your employees asked for it before they could do so. The customer respectful gave it to them. Did not damage the poster or touch anything else that wasn't their belongings or disrupt the other guests or employees. Finished their meal. Then left facility on their own after. Several moments later half of the male staff ran outside of the establishment to assault the person. Why? They immediately charged outside, didn't even think twice about diffusing the situation. Why? The multiple male employees did not have a reason to leave the establishment, just to consistently assault a customer. Then chase that customer all way to the end of the block continuing to assault them. Eventually non employee witnesses started pulling out their phones to record. That's when the employees stopped assaulting that customer, came running back to the establishment. Two, if the situation was the way you put it. Why wasn't the customer kicked out or asked to leave? If you felt the employees actions were necessary why wasn't the law enforcement called? Why did the staff kick everyone out n close down immediately after the situation? Hmmm sounds like they knew exactly what to do. Cause it's not the first time y'all had irrational altercations with a paying customer. I told the truth about the staff's unprofessionalism in that situation. Which forced u to come on here trying to come up with an excuse but just end up telling on yourself. Nice try..... f.y.i I didn't commit no form of a crime in nor near the establishment. So technically by law I can go to that premises to purchase food again, if I ever chose to do so. Which I won't because like I said I won't ever feel safe there. After witnessing that drama. Get to know the law. If you threaten me for no reason again and have anyone one of your affiliates or yourself try to harm or harass me in any form of contact. I will be forced to proceed with legal action. N you'll definitely won't be able to brib your way out of that case, thanks to your cameras. Have a nice day ma'am. read more

It was my first visit because a friend told me about it . I went and checked it out , I got oxtail rice and peas . Everything was on point. I had received a great amount of oxtails unlike some places & also the rice with enough gravy on it as well . The workers in there are polite and didn't have an attitude which was a PLUS !!! I give it 5 stars from 4 stars. Went to dine in and the food and service was excellent. Goat is good and the rasta pasta is a hit if you are into sweet. Additional space is in the back and they have heated lamps so you won't feel cold. read more

Friendly service. I ordered the oxtail Rasta pasta. The flavor was tasty, the pasta had a nice texture and plenty of sauce, but half the oxtails were tough and difficult to eat. The other half was tender like how oxtails are supposed to be. The tough oxtails took away from the experience -- maybe it was an off night. Also, I disliked how the cheese didn't melt, but I know that some cheeses are like that. The rum cake is super tasty and potent. read more

I love, love Fish n Ting. I remembered seeing it on Boston Road and thought it was an odd spot for a restaurant; near the auto shops. But man, the food is on point. My favorite is the grilled fish stuffed with peppers and okra. And the potato pudding. I've never had Jamaican potato pudding and it is absolutely delish. The owners r very sweet and kind. read more

As you know, they give you a lot of rice and I couldn't really find the peas, maybe I should take another picture for you since I still have it. They give you about 5 to 6 small oxtails and it's definitely not worth $14. The food just did not taste good. You can try this location for yourself, but I don't believe I will go back there again. The people however, were very nice and friendly and welcoming. This is why I didn't give them a one, because customer service definitely get to star.

It had been a while since I had been here and I was focused on the number one item on the menu: the 50oz bone in Cote de Boeuf, always medium rare, which I believe is one of the best values for carnivores in town. Once seated in the corner near the front window, I perused their new menu off the new menu from the QR code. I noticed the pork belly over chickpeas and ordered that along with a glass of red sangria. Irma took my order and I explained I wanted a fruity non fortified red sangria. It was very good. Irma forgot the bread and butter they usually serve and they brought it later after her shift ended, but left it out of my to go bag. The pork belly was very good and so crisp. The serrated steak knife was necessary. The fat was largely rendered out, but still present between the crackling skin and the savory meat underneath. It was two thick slabs over the chickpeas and a substantial appetizer for 16 bucks. Some appetites could enjoy this as a main with a salad and be fine. That would not be me this evening. I ordered the Cote de Boeuf medium rare, which comes with grilled onions and two sides, which I chose the whipped potatoes and the asparagus, the latter new to the menu. I also ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese as an extra, which is now served with Gruyere as an additional cheese to the mix. The Gruyere is new and it adds a sharpness juxtaposed with the sweet lobster meat and puts this over the top for me. They adjoined the neighboring free table and presented the steak sizzling and pre-cut nicely from the kitchen. I tried to take a video of that moment without success. I told them to hold all the sauces they offer and just bring the citrus salt. This magnificent cut only needs the citrus salt and nothing more; though, you will find those grilled onions go well with this cut. At $125 for this hunk of bone in excellence, this is one of the best cuts served in NYC at an irrefutably great value, with the sides included, save for the Lobster Mac and Cheese. So juicy and flavorsome highlighted with the citrus salt, that pink center with the ring is evident of what the skillful chefs can do here at Home Bx. The steak at Home Bx may be aged, dry or wet, I cannot confirm; however, the edge goes to less than a handful of the other steakhouses for flavor, but none at this price. The whipped potatoes are great and are the perfect accomplishment for steak. I don't know why the whipped potatoes are served modestly for such a large steak, but they are very good. The asparagus, new to the menu, are about six large spears and are not overcooked. The salt and juice runoff from the steak go well with the asparagus counterpoint. The Lobster Mac and Cheese deserves repeat mention, with the addition of Gruyere cheese. It now has more refined and balanced flavor, with the sharp Gruyere and sweet lobster playing off each other. The Lobster Mac and Cheese is a must have here. It's that good, goes well with the steak, especially with the Gruyere, and it will be the only side not included with that 50oz tender steak. 4.3 stars! Stay tuned for part two of this review. I ordered the new pork chop on the menu and the roast chicken to go.

Oh, Fish N' Ting, how the mighty have fallen! What was once a shining culinary gem has now become a sinking ship, leaving disappointment in its wake. Strap on your life jackets, folks, because this review is about to take you on a turbulent journey. I've had the misfortune of ordering from Fish N' Ting on eight separate occasions throughout the years, and each time, the experience has been worse than the last. It's like watching a slow-motion train wreck unfold, except the train is carrying flavorless, lackluster food. Let's start with the Chicken Rasta Pasta, or as I like to call it, the "watery flavorless mess." This dish lacks any semblance of taste, drowning in a sea of blandness, with barely a trace of chicken to salvage the situation. It's a sad departure from what used to be an amazing dish, leaving me longing for the good old days. Next up, is the Curried Goat. I had high hopes for this dish, but alas, it fell flat. Lacking in flavor and balance, it left me yearning for the authentic, robust flavors that should accompany such a classic dish. It's as if the goat lost its mojo and took the flavors down with it. And don't get me started on the Jerk Chicken. What was once a juicy, subtly spiced masterpiece has now become disappointingly mediocre. It's like a faded copy of its former self, lacking the punch and excitement that used to make it shine. The festival, on the other hand, should come with a warning label. It's so sweet it could give you a sugar rush that rivals eating a dozen donuts. Sweetness overload, anyone? Let's not forget the sauces. The Jerk Sauce is a pitiful attempt at capturing the true essence of jerk flavors, leaving me wondering if it's just a bad joke. The BBQ sauce, on the other hand, is a strange and flavorless concoction that seems to have been diluted with water. It's a far cry from the bold and tangy sauce you'd expect. Even the side dishes have lost their luster. The Mac and Cheese is a sad excuse for a cheesy delight, lacking any semblance of flavor or excitement. And the Fried Chicken, oh dear, it needs serious help. The emaciated, bony chicken is a greasy, tasteless disaster. It's a sad sight to behold, leaving me questioning if there was any meat on those bones, to begin with. The Curried Chicken managed to be okay, but in the midst of all the disappointments, that's hardly a consolation prize. The Fish Soup hit or miss as it may be, is simply not worth the price tag attached. I must mention that I've ordered each time through the Uber Eats app, hoping that maybe the experience would improve, but alas, it remained consistently disappointing. The value simply does not match the lackluster quality of the food being served. Fish N' Ting, I implore you to find your way back to the flavors and quality that once made you a gem in the Bronx. It's a shame to see a restaurant lose its way, and I sincerely hope that you can rediscover the path to culinary excellence. At first when you see the outside you think it's a small hole in wall restaurant. However when you go in the back you feel like you're in a breach front restaurant. It's a nice atmosphere. I love this place. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I arrived after the kitchen closed and they still made us two large grilled snapper with fresh festival. The food to die for and the island rum punch great. Very intimate place in the Bronx. We needed a fish and ting. read more

To all concern I eat there no less then 2 times a week. They are very consistent , extremely polite and the food is AWESOME!!!! The staff is so considerate ,feels like home very time I call for DELIVERY or Come in and pick up .... Bottom line you can't go wrong eating there. Just Try it read more
