Not too much of a weird fishy taste and overall great toppings. I had the Fiesta Bowl the second time thinking I was brave enough for the wasabi aïoli. But I will say that it is spicy! If you have time, it's good to sit down and take in the great artwork as well as the nice comfy chairs. I get it, it's raining and this is a mobile sushi restaurant, but you could tell, cleanliness is not the first thing on their minds. Look at the dashboard. Zoom in, it's filthy too. It's a real turnoff inside. I ordered 2 sushi rolls to-go. Of course, my order taker forgot the "to go" part of my order. I wanted to eat my sushi at home, not inside their mobile establishment. The sushi was okay, not great. Unfortunately for me, my Dragon Roll and my Gee Roll had the same sauce on it. The downfall for me was they did not drizzle the sauce on my two rolls. They poured it on both rolls. They were saturated in this thick sauce. It made it a bit rough to eat. There should have been thin ribbons of sauce spread over my sushi rolls, not thickly poured on. I did not receive Ginger, Wasabi or soy sauce with my to-go order. I really wanted this place to rock my sushi world, but it didn't even come close I'm so sorry to say. The filth inside should have told me to turn around on the spot. First impressions mean a lot to me and you don't get a second chance at a first impression. I'm finally understanding the folks here in landlocked Idaho have no clue to what great sushi really tastes like. It's no where to be found unless you actually leave the state.

It's rather difficult, if not almost impossible, to find delicious, authentic Japanese cuisine in the Treasure Valley. This small food cart is an Idaho gem. I've tried several of their food items, however this review will focus on their namesake dish, takoyaki (octopus ball). For those who don't know, takoyaki is a popular Japanese street food with bits of chopped octopus and dough inside a slightly crispy shell garnished with takoyaki sauce. I was very happy with how similar the snack tastes to the ones I've had in Japan. Genki serves these in 6 pieces ($6) and there are several sauces available. I like to top mine with sriracha to add a kick. It's a wonderful mid evening snack! My only complaint is on a couple visits I found my takoyaki to be rather old tasting, like either the oil hadn't been changed in a while or the octopus was overdue. It's happened less times than more so I'll still continue to eat this unless it becomes more frequent. Genki use to be very active on the Street Food Finder app but this summer they seem to limit their postings to Facebook and Instagram, so if you want to find them you'll have to go either of those routes.
