Great place for a healthy meal on campus. I highly recommend visiting if you're in a time crunch between classes!

Big fan of Paddles Up and Naked Fins (both great poke shops). Noticed that this new Fish Poke was open and decided to give them a shot. My stomach currently hates me for this decision. One would think that any place serving raw fish would have the freshest fish on a Friday, right? Well, not the case with this place. Sat down and starvingly ate a few bites of my poke bowl. Something didn't feel (warm, soft and kinda chewy) or taste right in my mouth. That's never a good sign when eating raw seafood. Uncovered the fish in my bowl and saw that is was slimy, raw but warm, and very clearly far from fresh. I wish my stomach has the ability to throw it up right there on the spot. Sadly, it doesn't. So I had to wait a little while for my butt to do the job. And do the job it did. Fish Poke falls very short in ways other than serving unforgivably expired fish. They scoop toppings with a teaspoon. Literally. So if you get edamame beans on your bowl, one scoop = about 5 beans. Not kidding. They also don't know the difference between pico de gallo and cheap canned, soupy salsa. Cucumber slices were mushy and translucent- they looked and felt like they had been frozen then thawed out. It was very odd. I'd expound more on what else sucks about this place, but I, no joke, have to run yet again to the toilet to s#!t my brains out. Fish Poke will probably be out of business by the time you read this review anyway. Thanks Fish Poke!

I go to Naked Fins many times a month so that was my primary comparison locally. This location has awesome selection in fish. They definitely beat Naked Fins in that, but at Naked Fins you can get a larger serving for the same or less money. The flavor here was good. I'd return if I was showing a friend a new place they've never been to, but unfortunately in my opinion Naked Fins is the better choice for the time being. Who knows, this place just opened so they could easily make some changes and be better.

I mean seriously razor thin. Not cool 2.) The coconut haipua had less than a 1/4 of a teaspoon of coconut cream. Again, felt ripped off. Spam musubi was VERY VERY GOOD. Best I have had in my travels. 5 stars for that. Mouth watering great!

Located in the quiet shops off Entertainment, CK Hawaiian BBQ touts they have the best Hawaiian food in Boise. I think there is potential but they need an entire makeover, from the space to the recipes. For one, the restaurant was not clean. The tables were grimy and the floor was oddly sticky. It felt like the place hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. I ordered the Kalua Park Plate (savory pork with (or without) cabbage) with a side of macaroni and gravy ($8.45 for small), my husband the Chicken Katso also with a side of macaroni and gravy (panko breaded chicken breast, $9.55). We decided to take our food home. The second I opened the boxes, I was unimpressed. I'll spare you my very descriptive and unappetizing statement (something about the remarkable resemblance to wet cat food), but to be blunt, I was appalled. It was soggy mess of a few pieces of pork with way to much cabbage. I took one small bite and couldn't stomach anymore. Even my husband exclaimed "what the actual f***." The rest of the food wasn't the worst. The chicken katsu was breaded good but I was like where tf is the katsu sauce?! It wasn't anything special at all. At least it was edible. The macaroni salad was okay. It didn't taste very fresh, probably an old batch. I'm no Hawaiian food expert and based off their menu I got the impression that they're not aimed at providing traditional Hawaiian fare, but more so "inspired" fare. However, regardless of the origin of the food the fact remained that what I received tonight was terrible. Two stars, because the employees were very nice. And were very accommodating when we changed from dine-in to take-out.
