We really enjoyed our dinner here tonight. A nice, cute spot right in downtown. The service was friendly and welcoming. The menu has a ton of choices - we enjoyed everything we ordered. Great fresh oysters and, yes, fish. I like that you can basically create your own fish dish. We will Be back.

A Wednesday night dinner with another couple. Service was efficient and friendly. We began with some complimentary focaccia, which was nice but not enough for four. We shared shrimp tempura as an appetizer, fresh and tasty, but more like fried shrimp than a true tempura. I plumped for the paella, which was a generous portion with lots of quality seafood -- shrimp, clams, mussels, squid. However it was underseasoned and had no socarrat, so I would rate it as good, not great. La Portena's bouillabaisse was a more flavorful choice, although closer to a San Francisco seafood stew than a true bouillabaisse. The fourth member of our party had the crab cake appetizer as his main, those looked really good. If I come back I would try one of the more simple fish dishes and start with those crabby patties. Ambiance is quite casual and relaxed. An enjoyable experience.

This restaurant was worth the drive to Stamford. We wanted to try a new place and this was our pick. Awesome is the one word for this place. Right from the start until the end it was exceptionally wonderful. Go check it out. Enjoy the pictures from our picks for the night.

I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant. From their Happy Hour Menu to their regular menu. First thing I will mention is their drinks are outstanding. There is nothing better than superb drinks along with excellent food. The presentation is on point and its a nice vibe. I ordered the black and blue margarita and I was very pleased with the blend. The lobster and shrimp chowder was perfect well seasoned with a nice spice. I love shrimp so I had to order the stuffed shrimp with crabmeat. The presentation matched the taste. I looked at the dessert menu I was tempted to try the vanilla bread pudding but I thought about the calories and I passed on that. This restaurant is a nice cozy spot and is worth the trip.

Very tasty food! I stopped in with friends on a Monday. We had made a reservation but didn't need it since it was quiet. Service was attentive and refilled our water glasses regularly. I loved the shrimp tacos and Brussel sprout app that I got. The Brussel sprout dish surprised me since there were mashed potatoes underneath the Brussels. Normally I wouldn't think these two foods go together but it was delicious. The shrimp tacos were loaded with fillings and I loved the green sauce that came on the side. My friends ordered the blackened shrimp and avocado salad which they enjoyed. All the food was very fresh and tasty! I would definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Ask the Community - Fish Restaurant + Bar

Hi - I'm looking for a seafood spot for my partner's bday dinner. Wondering if this is more of a bar or a place for a semi-elegant dinner? It would just be the two of us.

Nisa, The bar and the dining area are separated by a "half" wall. The dining area would be a great place for a nice dinner.

Favorite dish selections per voting of the table, were the brussel sprouts (~$20), calamari (~$20), and NY strip (~$50) specifically because of the tallow fried rice that laid underneath the steak! Although we enjoyed the quality and quantity of food, the service was quite slow. Our waitstaff didn't come by very often to take drink orders, refill water glasses, or follow up. It didn't seem too busy that evening, so we were a bit surprised. We stayed in the dining room on this trip, but hope to come back for a nice evening when the outside patio area is available.

I said to our friends that we paid for that and they ahouldnt have assumed we were finished. Our friends did not want to make a scene and chose to let it go. Main course was decent branzino tasty, decent portion, my friends did liked the scallops and my husband enjoyed his pasta. Dessert was chocolate Carmel with gelato not bad not great. Never to return or recommend. Place May work for you if you're in your 20's, early 30's. Every place you dine at today you're probably dropping $200/couple. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality from the staff, and chef made us feel right at home. We started drinks with a Strawberry Cosmo and a Paloma Spritz. Both refreshing and dangerously strong in the best way possible. For apps we came for the Crispy Duck on Sushi Rice, and as someone who usually scared to eat duck, this completely changed my mind. The duck was unbelievably crispy, similar to crispy prosciutto, and paired perfectly with their special sauce. We also had to do the Crab Cake was another standout, especially with the house-made Green Goddess dressing. The chef even came out to explain how he prepares the sauce, which made the experience feel much more special. For the entrees, we ordered the Linguine Fra Diavolo, loaded with perfectly cooked shrimp and the perfect amount of spice, alongside the Steak & Chips finished with a truffle vinaigrette. Somehow, every single dish just kept getting better. And because we clearly hadn't eaten enough, we had to try the Bacon Mac & Cheese Balls with smoked tomato sauce. I honestly could've eaten an entire plate of those. To end our meal, the chef surprised us with his Duck Egg Brownie, and it was one of the softest, fudgiest brownies I've ever had. A 2 hour train ride sounds crazy... but Flinders Lane made it absolutely worth the trip. I can't wait to come back to try the kangaroo!

Inside is fairly small but the tables are large and can host groups up to six per table. They do have a giant menu filled with all sorts of options, some of them are pretty crazy, especially the influencer section of the menu. I started off with a cup of the chili and wasn't a huge fan of it. It tasted more like the Cincinnati chili and had a large amount of oil. For my entrée, I chose the cheesesteak and was hoping it was going to be like a traditional Philly style, but it wasn't quite. I liked it more than the chili but still made me wish that I ordered a tuna melt or something else. I would give it a try again on a future visit but would want to try it again before I recommend.

Today was the first time we've eaten here in years. We were seated immediately but we waited more than 40 minutes for the food to come. We watched people leave because they could not wait for their food any longer. At first, I thought a chef must have called out. When our food finally came, I was forced to look at the most unappealing home fries that were molded to the plastic container they were stored in. At least try to make them look fresh bru. And the whole restaurant was cold. I was cold. The food was cold. This place should be called COLD Street Diner, am I right? And the coffee refill came like once. In the whole hour and a half we were there. The only times someone would walk by was to clear a table, or that guy idk who he is idk if he's the owner but he was wearing balenciaga sweatpants and then he would just go stand by the register to sip on some wine. My mother ordered the huevos rancheros and they were bland asl. I ordered the birria omelette and it was BLAND EVERYTHING WAS BLAND!!! The birria was just wet it didn't taste like anything bro. We haven't been to the Norwalk location but a lady sitting next to us noticed that we weren't happy with our food and she was speculating that all the good cooks got transferred there. Whether it's the cooks to blame, or the fact that it's a busy Saturday, it's safe to say we will not be coming back.

The poké is a generous portion, so do yourself a favor and ask for more wonton chips. There's a small charge of $1.
