Fabulous! We loved everything we tried. They heard we were from our of town and they brought us out a complimentary special of the Hog Fish, It was so good. Then as if that wasn't enough they brought us Cracked Conch, which they are famous for and I understand why. It was phenomenal. We wish we had ordered more of it. I ordered the cod, shrimp and calamari. My son had the Gruper and my husband had the cajen shrimp with rice. Wish we were in town longer and we'd be back for sure. Each kind of fish was cooked individually for that fish. They didn't just throw it all in the same batter and call it good. This place knows fish! Their sides were great too. I was there with my wife last week on Tuesday 2/13 for dinner. My wife and I were waiting for our table and noticed 2 couples at the bar drinking wine and waiting for their table. We had spoken to them momentarily outside and they seemed like very nice people. The hostess then walked up to them and asked them to move from the bar and wait outside so another patron can sit, not to mention it was a man. I found this strange, being the 2 women were sitting down and the guys were standing. To make matters worse the girl behind the bar, the hostess and the patron were in my opinion attacking these people, and the girl behind the bar was getting other patrons involved. At this point me and my wife just left, I have never seen service providers so hostel in my life. Found this place on yelp while in the area for the day. It was fantastic! Very fresh seafood, quick and friendly service, good prices. It is divey and casual which is exactly what we were in the mood for. Awesome conch fritters, freshest Mahi sandwich, scallops and shrimp. We will most definitely be back. It is a very small restaurant that will seat about 20ppl max so be prepared to wait a bit if you come during peak times. The wife and I stop in for lunch and was not disappointed. We started with the conch fritters and they were fresh and hot. For the record, it's easy to loose your stars with me if you serve me cold food. But this was not the case at the shack. Fresh, fast and hot and not to mention delicious. We've been there many times and always bring people. We went there tonight and again brought another new couple and while we were waiting for a table which was a 25 minute wait, we asked if we could sit in 2 bar seats and order wine. So we (two woman!) were sitting there having drinks with our husbands standing behind us and the hostess comes up to us and says "Excuse me, someone wants to sit in your seat and have dinner, can you wait outside?" We were in shock and have NEVER been asked to leave a bar we are actively drinking at while waiting to sit. We were so confused because there were two tables right next to us one with one seat and one table with two seats. The bartender said well that's our policy to allow someone to take bar seats that are occupied by people who are drinking instead of eating and then she proceeded to cash us out while talking rudely about us to some people who had just sat in front of her register. This made me very uncomfortable and when a bartender/server talks about other customers right in front of them that is 100% wrong! I said to my husband let's please leave because now I cannot feel comfortable to have dinner here anymore. First of all the hostess should've told us if someone wants to sit there we would have to get up, second I've never heard of a policy like this, maybe it should be posted or mentioned to everyone just drinking wine while waiting. This is extremely unprofessional especially since we were hoping to sit very soon and if we had to wait he should too! Then the man who wanted our seat was very rude and called my husband "Mr. Entitled" which is funny because he was acting entitled by insisting two women get off the barstools so he himself could take one seat. He should never have said one word to us except for "if it's only a few more minutes I can wait," like a gentleman not a low class creep! Oh and we still left a 22% tip on our drinks! read more

Had hard time getting thru to a person on the phone to place my order. Took about an hour of persistently calling in, but finally got thru. It took about 45min from place order to pick up. It was Friday afternoon and I had plans to hang out with some family that were in town on vacation. They go out to eat a lot and when I called, they were headed to lunch. I was invited along and they told me to meet them at the Fish Shack. I had never heard of it before but I love seafood. I knew the general area of where the Fish Shack is located but this place is still hidden. It took me a few minutes to find the small strip mall this it is located in, facing west towards a neighborhood, behind a car dealership. My family and I, a group of 4, walked in and got the last table available. The place was packed, I would say there are about 6 tables in the place. 4 chairs each, and then a small bar area where about 10 people can sit, elbow to elbow. During our lunch, around 2:30pm, people came in and then had to wait outside. The place is small but full of character. Fishing items and pictures line the walls. It almost reminded me of Flanagan's only this place had the local/divey feel to it. Our waitress came around and was very friendly and patient. I'm not much of a clam chowder fan but everyone else at the table ordered it. They said it was excellent and actually had a hint of lemon flavor in it. The menu had so much to choose from, I wanted it all. Since I was a guest, I kept my food selection within reason. I ordered a Mahi Mahi sandwich with a side of french fries. This was an item listed on their specials board for the day. It was $13. I ordered the sandwich grilled. The food is cooked fresh so it took a little longer than usual to come out of the kitchen. It still wasn't that long of a wait. The Mahi sandwich was fresh and light. A tender, almost falling apart fillet. I spread a light layer of tartar sauce on it and left the tomato. It came with lettuce but I ate that separately at the end. I was also incredibly impressed with the french fries. They were hot and crispy with a great natural flavor. Their only seasoning was salt. I had ketchup but didn't even really need it. With outstanding food and friendly service, this tiny local place for fresh seafood is no secret. My review here is nothing new. Just another accolade for a place already praised for it's excellence. This place is a little bit of a drive for me but I hope to make it back again soon. read more

It's our first time to dine and it will be the last. The service is ok nothing great and food is average. Please be advise to watch your bill and make sure that they don't charge your credit/debit two twice or others customers bill. This happens to us two weeks ago. They charges our card with two different amount. We went back the following day and told them about it. They took a copy of our bill and the additional charged and told us the we should get the credit back in two days. Up to this date they have not given the credit back yet as they promised. The Food and Service are Fantastic .... Great Move to the New address. Not only are we avid Customers but the owner Mike is a stand up guy as well. I was in the Fish Shack Parking Lot (Pubiix) and Mike was at my Truck as I came out of Publix. As I am putting my Groceries in My Brand New Truck, he came flying over to let me know my Truck was hit by another Truck and he has a Picture of the Truck and License Plate of the Truck that scraped the paint right off my Brand New Trucks Bumper. He also called the police when I was still in Publix. He waited till the police came and was a witness to the Hit and Run. They make such a delicious Hogfish here, it's almost a sin to it order it when it's featured on the menu. Knowing me and my eternal love of soup, I nearly devoured that bowl of Clam Chowder before coming up for air. The fish and chips were served pipingly hot and crusted in a flaky breading that was just too good to be true. This is exactly how seafood should be served and I'm lucky i follows my instincts and made it here. It's family-owned and operated for over two decades so their catch is trustworthy. Certainly the freshest seafood in the area and prepared with love. It's not a large spot, but it's the right spot so be patient if there's a wait ahead of you. For a 35 minute trip and then an extra 10 minutes of waiting, this restaurant was worth the wait, to an extent. We started our meal with the Buffalo Shrimp (mild) and it was great. The texture was wonderful and crunchy. Next time we would get medium though because the flavor needed an extra kick. We decided to split the sea scallops platter with rice and a salad and the chicken caesar wrap. The salad came out first and it was amazingly fresh. Everything was very delicious and the balsamic dressing was great. We had the garlic butter grilled scallops next and they were good, however, it didn't meet our expectations as we were hoping for something a little better. The rice was delicious though because some of the garlic butter got infused with it. By the time we got to the wrap, we were so full so we only had a couple of bites. It was pretty good. We did leave room for desert and we went with their only desert, the key lime pie. It was delicious and the crust was great. I'm not one to like key lime pie much, but this one was great! One of the waitresses we found was a little short and temper, although I must admit, it was quite busy and packed. Since they moved, things aren't the same. Called to place takeout and said to call back in 30 min. Did that and they said to wait again. 3rd time they said no more take out. They couldn't handle the amount of people but should have said that first time I called. Also, side of cole slaw way too expensive for amount and that was before inflation and pandemic. Don't pass this place up! I've been eating here a couple months and the food is consistently great. Service is top-notch. Super fast and friendly. You can tell the staff is treated well. Feels like you're ordering food from a family. Always a friendly face and very courteous phone service. Now, for the food. This burger you see below is in my top-three of all time. It's the closest you're going to get to a burger straight off Dad's back yard grill. The seasoning is perfect and you can tell (especially with the presentation) that this burger is about to change your life. These guys don't mess around! This is a cute little (emphasis on little) staple that's nestled in the back of a residential neighborhood. My neighbors have lived in Deerfield for many years and have been coming here on a weekly basis for quite some time. As you can imagine, they highly recommended this place as one of their favorites and have been inviting us to dinner for a while now. Our schedules finally aligned and we met them here for an early dinner. Their first tip was to get there early because the seating is first come first serve, no reservations, and the whole party has to be present - this is strictly enforced, which you will see why when you arrive. I think there are only about 6 (3 small and 3 large) tables and maybe 10 seats at the bar. Not sure the exact restaurant capacity but it's something like 25-30 people (squished). We happened to get there with perfect timing and sat at a 4 seater in the corner. One issue was that with the coming and going of people trying to get on the wait list, the door opened and closed a million times, each time blinding the people seated facing the door. The service here is really friendly though and the food arrives fairly quickly, they want you in, eating and satisfied as quickly as possible. The fish is super duper fresh and you can order it however you want; grilled, blackened, Cajun or fried. There are several choices of fish and other seafood that you can either get in a platter (with 2 sides) or a sandwich (with one side). We opted to start with some appetizers; cracked conch and buffalo shrimp. The shrimp was so fresh it snaps when you bite into it. The conch wasn't my fav as it was a little tough. Then for my meal, I ordered the Hog Fish as a sandwich with a side salad instead of French fries. It was delicious! My boyfriend ordered traditional fish (fried cod) and chips because that's what he was in the mood for today. I'm glad we chose to come here because we definitely left stuffed. The prices are a little high, as a table of 4, the bill was $140 but I think my neighbors ordered something to-go and they had a few drinks. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here and I look forward to trying some of the other seafood; maybe the fried lobster sandwich next time?
