Cashier was kind and food came quickly, but how this place has a 4.4 rating shocks me. Got the Fried Cod Tacos, Buffalo Shrimp, Blackened Hot Mahi sandwich, and cold Lobster Roll...nothing was fresh caught; all frozen entrees & sides. Lobster Roll was the only decent entree but still wasn't remotely fresh. Food might look good in photos, but everything was bland.

Consistently good food and friendly service at The Fish Joint. First time coming to the Coral Springs location but long time customer at the Coconut Creek spot. There's many different seafood options (cod, grouper, shrimp) for each entree - sandwiches, tacos, po boys, etc. They also have daily specials like taco Tuesdays and lobster roll Thursdays. We had the fried cod fish tacos with a side of Cole Slaw and hush puppies. Everything was fresh, fish was battered perfectly, the slaw was creamy and tangy. The lobster roll my mom ordered was hot and the meat was tender, juicy and loaded. The bread was very buttered so it's definitely rich and on the oily side as it oozed out. The decor and overall ambiance of the store is chill and relaxing. Great place to catch up and for takeout.

We checked out The Fish Join after a few friends recommended it, so glad we listened! I ordered the hot lobster roll with a side of fries and everything hit the spot. The lobster roll was super fresh, packed with tender lobster, and served on a toasted buttery garlic roll. The fries were genuinely unique, never had the cut before. They're thinly shaved in a really fun, crunchy way that makes them unlike typical fries, and they were amazing with the house sauce. I'd go back for those alone. The whole place has a clean, laidback beach vibe that fits the menu perfectly. Even though you order at the counter, the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly the entire time. Overall, an awesome find.

Back again to one of our favorite restaurants. My husband had the Shrimp Tacos which were on special this night, I had delicious clam chowder. I also had a clam strip basket which was very disappointing. The clams were dry and way overcooked. I do not recommend them. Usually the food is outstanding.

The Fish Joint in Coral Springs is basically where you go when you want to eat fish and be happy about it. My Mahi-Mahi Monday special sandwich was absolutely loaded with blackened flavor--fish cooked tender and juicy, sauce so good I briefly considered asking if they bottle it, and coleslaw that deserves its own standing ovation. Really, the food's on point. Here's the catch (pun intended): I originally wanted the Mahi Big Boy Po'boy. But I didn't want it fried, I wanted it blackened. When I asked at the counter, the guy looked at me like I had just asked him to split the atom. He shook his head and said, "It only comes fried." That was it. No negotiation. No "let me check." Just a culinary dead end. Just NO. So I pivoted to the Monday special, which--don't get me wrong--was fantastic and even saved me seven bucks. But it wasn't the sandwich I walked in craving. And now I'm stuck with this unscratchable itch for a blackened Po'boy that I may never get. So yeah, four stars: amazing food, fast service, but a little too "my way or the highway" on the menu rules. Fish Joint, I love you, but c'mon--set the fish free.

Did not know what to expect when my wife told me to meet her here. Abd honestly was one of, if not the best fish meals we've had in south fl. We had fish tacos, the surf n turf po boy, and the grilled fish tacos. Will definitely be back soon

Went here on Good Friday to pick up some fish & chips. Was running close to closing, so I decided to call ahead and order. Kayla was able to explain everything to me, she's the BEST. The ambiance for me hit clean, modern, casual seafood restaurant. Especially with the surfboard on the wall. The staff is friendly and smiling. Even though I just went in to pick up. I got a great vibe from the place. The food was delicious, the tartar sauce and coleslaw, exceptional. I shall return.

The flavor was there, but the execution wasn't looks like the sauce was just dumbed on top

When we arrived, we checked in and were seated immediately. I was a little overwhelmed by how loud the restaurant was at first, but thankfully the live band quickly became a great distraction. They were easily one of the highlights of the night. Their song selections were fantastic, and the lead singer had an incredible voice and amazing energy. Unfortunately, the food was pretty underwhelming. The mussels were a great starter--I would absolutely order them again and highly recommend them. The steak, however, lacked seasoning and was very bland. The lobster mac and cheese was also disappointing. After a few bites, I had no interest in finishing it. Surprisingly, the broccolini was the best thing I ate all night. It was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Honestly, I would have been happy with a plate of just that, and I highly recommend ordering it as a side. Overall, I'm glad I finally had the chance to visit and cross it off my list of restaurants to try. While the live music and service made for an enjoyable evening, the food didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

As we approached the hidden entrance tucked under a portico, I noticed it was right next to a Jersey Mikes entrance which gave me pause for a second. After speaking with our lovely waitress, we ordered and the food was delivered in courses which was nice for a change. Everything we ordered was freshly prepared and delicious. It turns out the single person in the kitchen is the owner. He hand prepares every dish and accompaniment. Great food, great service and the staff were all very pleasant. Before I talk about the food I want to say that the young lady that was the bartender and server was so friendly and gave great suggestions. The restaurant is small, however it is beautiful inside and does offer outdoor seating as well. Now for the food. They bring out fresh hot rolls with a small plate of cheese pesto and balsamic drizzle. Outstanding!!!!! We came to find out the owner who is the chef, his wife is a pastry chef and makes the bread and desserts. To start we had the Spanish chargrilled octopus. I know I have said this before about other restaurants, but I can truly say hands-down. This was the freshest, most tender, and one of the most flavorful grilled octopus that we have had. It came with a mixture of capers, potatoes, and vegetables in an amazing sauce. Truly fantastic. For dinner, my wife had the blackened yellowtail snapper in curry sauce, and I had the shellfish pan roast. Both were one of a kind dishes. We have never had such great flavor and seafood. Not to mention the amount of food that they put out and the presentation is worthy of awards. My wife's blacked snapper was cooked perfectly had a light blackened coating, and the curry sauce was tremendous. My shellfish were super fresh. Again cooked to perfection, tender, and flavorful. The sauce they were in was amazing. For dessert, we tried their homemade Keylime pie, and this too was top-notch and made fresh. We are planning our next trip to this restaurant and if you actually want a true fine, dining seafood experience you have to try this spot. I'm going to say it is priced accordingly for the true quality of food, the amount you are served and the presentation. If you are looking for a fried shrimp basket or fish and chips, this is not the type of restaurant for you. This is upscale seafood, and a true upscale seafood experience. You might want to consider making reservations as they do get busy and as I mentioned earlier, it is a small restaurant.

A restaurant that serves seafood and wings?…read more I'll admit it... I walked in a little skeptical. It felt like one of those menus that couldn't decide what it wanted to be when it grew up. So I did what any reasonable person would do. I ordered both. Before I even get to the food, I have to give a shout-out to the two young men working behind the counter. They were incredibly friendly, genuinely helpful, and steered me toward a combination that turned out to be a great choice. Good service doesn't always happen at casual restaurants, but these guys made a terrific first impression. Now, about that fryer... Whoever was running it knew exactly what they were doing. The batter on the fish was light, crispy, and delicate without burying the fish underneath. The fish itself was cooked perfectly. The wings were also very good, the fries were crisp, and the whole meal delivered exactly what comfort food is supposed to deliver. The shrimp? It felt a little like the forgotten middle child. Perfectly fine, but overshadowed by everything else on the plate. My only real criticism is that the food may have been a touch heavy on the salt. Then again, I'd rather reach for my drink than wonder if the kitchen forgot to season the food altogether. Hook's Catch isn't trying to be fine dining, and that's exactly why it works. It's the kind of place you go when you're craving something hot, crispy, and satisfying. And I have to admit, there's something oddly satisfying about a restaurant that refuses to make you choose between land and sea. Go with the fish. Go with the wings. Or do what I did and have them both.
