Found this gem on a whim when looking for some to-go food on a Friday afternoon and I am so happy we did. The best street tacos I have ever had in this area. The flavors were so amazing! I was also very impressed with how sealed the to-go containers were. Definitely says a lot about this establishment. We placed the order, then once it was ready we received a text. I ordered the shrimp, blackened fish, and regular fish tacos with a side of rice and beans. The shrimp was my favorite, so much flavor. The regular fish was very crispy and flavorful. I've always gone to the Wildwood Fish Taco and love everything. Today I placed an online order to Wildwood and somehow it diverted to the Woodmont location without alerting me in any way. I went to Wildwood and found this out and they said their system went down and that may be why that happened. I tried my best to get to Woodmont, but traffic, no parking anywhere, construction and a blocked off street made it impossible. The food had been sitting for too long at this point anyway. So I called Wildwood and redid the order. And called Woodmont to see if I could get a refund. They would only do a partial refund and their reasoning is their system went down too. If they had tried to be even remotely nice about it while talking to them on the phone, I wouldn't even be leaving a review. read more

Not busy at all. Been wanting to check out Fish Taco so was really excited to hear they opened a Bethesda Row location. Cam for lunch and ordered the signature fish taco platter with rice and beans. Very good portions, fish was crispy and flaky and came with a fresh slow on top. Loved it! Friendly staff and clean location. Excited to know they have online ordering and curbside pickup. read more

First time at this fish taco location. Plenty out outdoor seating! Got the steak rice bowl, chicken quesadilla, and chips. Both dishes were very good. The quesadilla was very flavorful and filling. The rice bowl was a great portion. Wish there was some more flavor to the rice bowl and more meat. We got salsa and chips and I had to add the salsa to the rice bowl to get more flavor. Went here on a Sunday night and had the fried fish taco. The service and speed was very good, but the quality of the food left a bit to be desired. You can't really taste the fish as most of what you are ordering is a very heavy breading with a little bit of fish inside. The hot sauce!! I'm obsessed with the green habanero hot sauce they have at each table. It's very spicy though so be careful! Fish tacos were good! You can get them many different ways. I got the original beer battered tacos. We got guacamole as an appetizer which was good but I like chipotle's guacamole better. The steak tacos were not that great, wouldn't recommend them. So I love fish tacos they are my go-to after shrimp I just think they taste better than any other type. I was really delighted when I heard that Fish Taco opened up but this was my first time going. I definitely get a California Vibe, I love the color palette that was used in the restaurant, the plating, the food, the drinks everything. I highly recommend stopping there for lunch or dinner but light will allow you to really see the beauty of the place. Get the signature fish taco or the blackened salmon taco. They come with a side of beans and rice which is great so you won't be hungry. I also suggest getting the elotes or Mexican street corn and the guacamole, chips, and cheese dip of course. The ceviche is very good as well but one of the things that impressed me the most was actually the Margaritas. They were really well laced and delicious, the perfect size everything.I would just say I wish they had dessert I think they should add churros or something simple and cheap to their menu, it really will be the cherry on top of the cake or should I say sauce on top of the fish taco. read more

First photo is of the sauce that was inside of the shrimp salad. This salad was ordered for lunch today, we had a luncheon at my office, I placed an order for 6 people. We had heard the food was great so was eager to try! I was subjected to this and now have no lunch as this little critter was inside my salad on the dressing. I removed the dressing from the salad to get a better picture and it was still there crawling around the rim of the sauce even after I pulled the sauce out to take the picture. I'm a big fan of Fish Taco. I always get the signature fish burrito but usually supplement it with something else to split. The Tostada is a favorite of mine as well. The quesadilla's are all good and are pretty filling and reasonably priced. The corn is also quite good. If you're in the mood for an actual taco both the fish and chorizo street taco are very good. During my staycation in Bethesda, my bf and I were craving Mexican food and decided to stop here. It was a short walk from our hotel (Hyatt regency) and is located next to various restaurants. Its more of a fast food kind of spot. Everyone was really friendly and they were playing really good music. It is in the city so parking can be tricky but there is a few parking garages near by that charge about $1/hr for parking and some street parking with meters. I ordered the adobo chicken quesadilla which came with peppers and onions and a side of guac and sour cream. The cheese on the quesadilla is probably the best cheese I've ever had on a Quesadilla so cheesy and gooey and oh soooo delicious! Just sooo sooo good! I also ordered the steak Mexican street taco, that was also really good! It had this delicious red sauce in it that made it to die for!! My boyfriend ordered the chicken burrito and a blacked fish taco which he also said were both pretty good! The price for the quesadilla was about $8-9 which is i think an okay price. The quesadilla was a very good size and very filling. Prices are pretty fair, food is pretty good, good location, checks all my boxes! Will definitely return if I'm in the area! read more

This place was decent! Very popular in the area, and even on a Sunday, the line was long. It sort of reminded me of a higher end chipotle. Food was alright at most, I've had better tacos within a 5 mile radius. The ingredients seem really fresh which of course is a plus, but it was definitely overpriced. Blame it on the area, but still, I probably won't return. An order of guacamole and chips was almost 7 dollars and the serving size is literally the same that they give you as a side at chipotle. Unremarkable, at least the one time I tried it the week it opened. I had blacked fish tacos, which had a microscopic piece of over-cooked and over-salted fish with a lot of cabbage and sauce on top. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish, but I probably won't go back to give it another try. I have an office on the same street and we go out for lunch every day, and there is so much good food in downtown Bethesda that when we try a place that doesn't measure up we just skip we tend to just walk past a go to a better place. I've been missing California Mexican food but didn't always want to go to Chipotle. So glad I found this place. Reminds me of a higher end version of Rubios with their fish options and Chipotle with their rice bowls. Unlike the two other chains however Fish Taco has an expanded and yummy looking appetizers menu. I'm also glad I got to customize my rice bowl without the rice and jalapeños. The people who work here are super nice as well with the cashier helping to explain the various menu options. The bus boys are also quick to clear our tables of any empty plates and the wait time for food dining in wasn't too long. read more

My wife and I recently went to Fish Taco. We were starving and anything decent would have satisfied us. Disclaimer, I am in no way a foodie or have some refined palate. And I'm not usually a picky or critical eater. I'll start with the bad: We ordered two adobo chicken tacos. They were the driest tacos I have ever tasted and on the verge of flavorless. I thought she was exaggerating at first, but after trying it, I needed some water. Maybe it was a bad batch, maybe they were made incorrectly, maybe there wasn't enough sauce but whatever excuse, STAY AWAY FROM THE ADOBO CHICKEN. It was a waste of money. Now for the good. The other three tacos we ordered were the signature fish, blackened fish, and barbacoa. The two fish tacos were amazing. Exactly what I was craving. Fish meat had great flavor, it was moist, cabbage and sauce were the perfect addition to complete the taco. Barbacoa was good but it was overshadowed by the two fish tacos (makes sense...the place is called fish taco). 5 stars for the fish tacos. 4 stars for the barbacoa. Again, the fish tacos at Fish Taco were very very good. Stick to the fish. read more

I tried the signature fried fish tacos and they weren't too special, but they proportion sizes were great! It was just a bit bland. They serve a salad with it, and it overall is aesthetically pleasing. My friend recommended that I try the quesadilla next time, since she thinks those are much better than the fish tacos I had. I had a bad experience with the food at the old location but the new location is great! The space is lovely and the food is delicious. I go here for lunch about once a week now. My go-to orders are either the grilled or blackened fish tacos platters with salad, so I really don't have any experience outside of those two orders. However, I'm always satisfied with them, so it's hard to venture further afield. I also greatly appreciate the option for a healthy meal. I can understand the gripes about the costs, but it's not THAT expensive, plus, this is Bethesda Row...the rent alone should tell you not to expect something like $2 tacos. I don't quite understand the gripes about the portion sizes. I'm 6'2" and weigh in around 210 and two tacos and the modest accompanying salad makes a perfectly satisfying lunch for me. I will say that it would be nice if the blackened tacos were...welll...a bit more blackened. When I think blackened fish I tend to think of more spice and heat, but there is little-to-nothing resembling those flavors on the blackened fish tacos. That said, the pineapple relish is quite tasty. So...not much else to say. Fish Taco probably won't blow you away, but it's a very solid fast-casual lunch option and a very welcome addition to Bethesda Row. read more
