    Breakfast Torta
    Ann R.

I was in the area for work and needed a quick bit and ohmygoodness thank god I tried this place. I went for the breakfast torta with chorizo and it was packed with flavor and did not skimp out on the toppings. Bread was soft on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside. I ordered over the phone for a quick pick up and it was ready like 10 minutes later. The place was a small little shop with some seating outside. It's a nice cozy spot with friendly workers. So glad I came to try this place!

Don't be fooled by the small spot, this place packs a punch. The price is worth all the food they give you. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was delicious. I highly recommend an additional salsa on the side to add that flavor kick with eat bite. The food being made to order keeps it fresh. The service is friendly and fast. You can also call ahead if you are I a rush. They have public parking across the street which allows you to run in and out.

    Breakfast Burrito and coffee

I had time to kill in downtown Bethesda. I searched yelp for a great breakfast place. I was not disappointed. The breakfast burrito with bacon was very good. The hot sauce was hot. The coffee was good. I appreciated that they pulled out creamer from the refrigerator instead of just leaving it on the counter like other places. Next time I will come back and try the burrito with chorizo sausage. The service was fast and friendly. Mexican ladies from the neighborhood came to get their breakfast. They chatted in Spanish with the staff and possibly the owner who was also from Mexico . This was a very good sign!

Taco Saturday! I was getting a haircut and I noticed the taco place on a side street. So, I walked over and ordered asada, el pastor and chicken tacos. All of them had a lot of flavor. The service was fast and they bring the food out to you. I enjoy the outdoors seating, but only when it's warm.

It's a cute place - walk up order. They have some outdoor seating (no indoor seating). Plenty of (metered) parking across the street. Staff was really nice. I ordered old bay fries and chicken fajitas. The fries were seasoned good (had a good crisp to it) but the amount wasn't worth the price. The presentation of the fajita platter was great; but I was bummed that it lack flavor :-(

Came here for lunch on a Monday around 11:30. This is a nice lunch spot! Wasn't super hungry so I just ordered two different tacos. The inside is small with a couple outdoor seating areas. The workers were nice and able to give recommendations. The menu had lots of options of tacos and burritos and sandwiches. Overall this hit the spot and the tacos had a lot of meat! A fair price ~$9 for both tacos! Nothing too crazy but a nice meal!

    Chilaquiles and frijoles

A real hidden gem! I stopped by Oliva's for breakfast this morning and ordered the chilaquiles. The egg was the perfect sunny side up, edges cooked and runny center. My frijoles were a nice fresh side. The bread pudding was a sweet and soft dessert for after. The owner, Emilio puts his culture and heart into the food. I think it's great the kitchen is open and you can see your food being made. Oliva's is a great stop for authentic Mexican breakfast/lunch to-go or taking a seat outside. You really feel at home here!

Great find! Awesome home style food at a fair price. Note: I ordered delivery and everything was well packaged and traveled well. Had the torta Milanese, which was filling and delicious- the chicken well fried Wouldn't have expected a casual lunch place to have a good dessert but the bread pudding was delicious. Outstanding value for large portions- total came to under $20 before tax.

Mid-munch. Had to slow down and use the fork.

I arrived an hour early for an appointment and decided to take a walk along Wisconsin Avenue, looking for a place to have breakfast and pass the time. That's when I noticed a taco shop -- it literally looks like it's housed in a converted residential garage from the 1900s -- just a block off the main street. The sign said "open," and I was in the mood for a breakfast burrito. Outside, there are two narrow picnic tables: one granite and the other a reclaimed log, framing the narrow entrance to the counter. Inside, I was welcomed and ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo from the chalkboard menu fixed to the counter. I waited outside as takeout customers came and went; it's clearly a popular spot. My order was delivered in a bag with napkins, salsa, and a fork. Oliva Kitchen burritos are overstuffed, tasty gut grenades! A crispy toasted shell packed with red bliss hashbrowns, chorizo, tomatoes, onions, cheese, egg, and a creamy, flavorful sauce. A couple of guys across from me were raving about the barbacoa. They offer American options for breakfast and lunch to cater to everyone and have kid-friendly variations, so you could order for the family. This is not a sitdown restaurant, think takeout, working man, grub and go. I've got a hunch this place is a hidden neighborhood gem, and the guys manning the grill are master street taco chefs waiting to be discovered. They make a fantastic burrito, and I'll be coming back for the street and fish taco platter. Update coming soon!

Thank me later! The sandwich is beastly good!! Loaded with just about every meat and topping, they have to offer. I've been coming here for years, and it's always a dependable, tasty stop when the hunger pangs strike. My go-to is The Wreck -- loaded up and, of course, with extra hot peppers. It's not just a sandwich; it's a life experience. Every bite feels like it's giving my taste buds a standing ovation... and my sinuses a pep talk. I also love their chili -- hearty, comforting, and exactly what you want on a chilly day (pun absolutely intended). One of my favorite things is the mix-and-match approach here. Half a sandwich, half a salad, whatever combination makes your stomach sing -- they make it happen. I'm partial to a sandwich-and-soup or sandwich-and-chili combo, but honestly, they could hand me a sandwich and a pickle and I'd still be grinning. The Pick-Your-Pair deal is my secret weapon for avoiding food FOMO. I get a little bit of everything without having to choose -- because why should lunch be a time for difficult decisions? I will say, I do miss the days when the rewards program felt, well, more rewarding. You know, something that made loyal customers feel like VIPs instead of "Very Intermittently Pleased." But that's a small gripe compared to all the deliciousness they serve up. A few Potbelly-themed jokes for flavor: Why did The Wreck go to therapy? It had too many layers of emotion. What's Potbelly's favorite band? Bread Zeppelin. My doctor told me to eat more greens... so now I get extra lettuce on my Wreck. Problem solved. Whether I'm craving a sandwich that could make a grown man weep, a bowl of chili that hugs your soul, or a meal combo that lets me have my lunch and eat it too -- this place delivers every time. Highly recommend!

On our first visit, a Saturday morning, we ordered the blueberry pancakes (I love when the blueberries are cooked into the pancakes instead of just sprinkled on top), scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, potatoes with onions, and coffee. Everything was affordable and delicious, so much so that we came back two days later. On our second visit, a Monday, we asked to be seated in April's section! She actually remembered us because we shared the potatoes the first time and she even asked if we wanted to share them again (yes, please... and she brought two small plates!). This time we had scrambled eggs, potatoes with onions, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, toast, and a biscuit. We even dropped some quarters into the tabletop jukebox for the full diner experience.
