Favorite spot for treats!!! They did my daughter's first birthday with a daisy theme and they were absolutely perfect!

Would come here weekly if I lived nearby! Loved their warm brown butter chocolate-chip cookie pies. Such a smooth, gooey, creamy brown butter inside with just the right amount of salt and sweetness. Served warm and heavenly to break apart. Also cookie pies are a genius idea! Can't wait to come back and try the cowboy and all their oatmeal varieties. 5 stars!!!!

I love having a cookie here as a treat when I'm in half moon bay. They have the best selection of warm cookies with amazing flavors like s'mores, Nutella and dark chocolate sea salt. The cookies are not gooey and soft like crumble cookies. They're a bit crunchier but tasty nonetheless. This local shop is right in the downtown and they sell cookie bags to go and other knick knacks.

I just went in here randomly and these sounded good. Got home. Tried them. so good! I ate them so slowly... made them last a few days. Got them to share with the kids but did not. I saved them for after their bedtime so I could enjoy their goodness in peace. I've been thinking of them every day... mainly because I saved this empty bag and I keep seeing it on my counter. I wish this place wasn't so far away. Service was meh... the lone person there didn't really acknowledge my existence but I don't care. I'm rating solely on the cookies. I'll make the 45 min drive again some day... just tried to look and see if it was possible a chain... but no such luck. I'm having second thoughts about posting this because what if next time it's sold out due to my rave review... make sure you leave one bag behind in case I show up!

A cute little bakery to get delicious baked goods! I learned it was called Fish Wife Sweets because the owner is the wife of a fisher who had always wanted to open a bakery store and her dreams came true with this bakery! Everything is made from scratch and I loved that you order get warm cookies. I got the dark chocolate and pistachio cookie and it was perfection on a colder cloudy day. Just enough gooey-ness from the chocolate and texture from pistachio was the perfect combination in every bite. It was also not too sweet which my preference. I would definitely order this cookie again or try another flavor when I come back, possibly in the fall for the pumpkin festival at HMB!

What started out as a cottage kitchen operation in 2015 has turned into a full-fledged brick-and-mortar in 2022. Fish Wife Sweets specializes in all the guilty pleasures of the sweet kind, including cakes, brownies, cookies, and cinnamon rolls, just to name a few. The Good: The cookies were why we decided to pay them a visit. They had some really intriguing flavors, but the sea salt brown butter chocolate chip cookies were calling my name. Carissa opted for the more exotic PB&J. Both were delicious, but the PB&J cookie was really outstanding, and I loved the unique concept. The Meh: *Parking in this "Downtown" section of HMB can be difficult, but as long as you're willing to walk a bit, you can usually score a spot. *Only open Thu - Sun The Ugly: *Pricing at $12/4 cookies was a bit rich, but since they were good, I'll (kinda) allow it. Conclusion: Great cookies and can't wait to come back and try some more goodies.

Great little sweet shop. We ran across this shop while spending a few days in HMB. We actually went back the next day and made another purchase. Needless to say, my family liked their sweets. lol They have a cookie warmer as well, with hot cookies available. I had to indulge and try one on our second trip. We ended up buying a bag. My kids really enjoyed their treats. I truly enjoyed the peach pie bar. I could only ate half as I was so full! Lol I brought the remainder home. I really could have bought even more things on day 3, but we already over indulged. Ha ha

Mmmmmmm warm cookies and milk?!?! Yes please!! Cute little sweets store on one end of Main Street in Half Moon Bay. You can get warm cookies, as well as a bunch of other baked goods like brownies, pie, cupcakes, cookies, etc.. also can preorder larger sizes! Cashier was informative and helpful and friendly. Quite yummy, happy with this new find!

Teal theme beach wedding and cake

They were able to accommodate my very late order for a custom color wedding cake to fit the theme of our wedding. Mariah saved my day! She was very flexible about incorporating my ideas and sharing hers as well. I couldn't have been happier. Their cookies and pastries are also super yummy! Thank you!

I also wanted something the kids/guests enjoyed and something different so I decided to see if I could add vanilla ice cream to the cake, and they said, "Of course! We haven't done this before but I think that would taste good." And lo and behold, it was amazing- it was a hit with the birthday boy and the guests as well. Their carrot cake is amazing (moist and not too sweet) and they helped with my crazy questions and ideas along the way. I will def go back to have them create my cakes for other occasions! I've previously come here for their ice cream and smaller desserts, which were all great. The service is friendly and quick. Very clean and some seating inside, tho we always just pick up and take items to go.

I'm also not a huge frosting person, and I believe the cream was buttercream, which was probably the biggest downside for me. It wasn't overly sweet, but the consistency was just too thick for both my husband and me. I even tried leaving it out for over an hour to see if it would soften, but it remained dense. I do wish there were more fruit in the filling. It was mainly cream and a few berries. We sliced the cake on Saturday, and by Monday the exposed part of the cake from where it was cut had become pretty dry. I ended up cutting off the dry outer layer, but thankfully the inside was still moist, so I was able to enjoy the rest of the cake. Ordering through Square was easy. I ordered the 4-inch cake with a marble design, matcha cake, strawberry cream, and strawberries. One thing to note is that if you order the 4-inch cake, there wasn't a section to add custom text. You'll need to email or call them with your order number to let them know what you want written on the cake. Overall, the highlight of the cake was definitely the cake itself. The moisture and strong matcha flavor really stood out and were my favorite parts. If I were to order from this bakery again, I'd probably try a different filling and cream because the buttercream just wasn't for me, but that's more of a personal preference.

We found Maggie by a recommendation from our wedding photographer…read more We were so impressed with the flavors she offered during our tasting that we decided to choose her for our wedding cake the moment we left the tasting. Her cakes are so fresh, light, and flavorful. She only uses fresh ingredients. She uses Real butter in her buttercream frosting, not shortening. Once you have real buttercream you can't have the 'other' stuff. Maggie's buttercream is sooo smooth and creamy and just simply melts in your mouth. We chose the coconut cake with passion fruit buttercream filling and lemon cake with raspberry filling. She only charges an extra $50 for two flavors, awesome. The lightness and light sweetness of her cakes was the perfect match to our Chinese banquet. Her pricing is also very very affordable. She tells you exactly what you need based on your guest count and what cake design you were thinking of using. She is not opposed to using sheet cakes to cut the cost down also. When our wedding day came, our cake looked perfect. I only gave her a picture to follow and the cake looked just like the pictures with a little bit of changes because we wanted to use real flowers. (I've included a picture of the cake.) Maggie was the best and we have received multiple multiple compliments on our wedding cake. Her cake is so fresh that it's been 15 days since our wedding and we are still nibbling on the top cake tier; tastes just like it did on our wedding day.

We were satisfied with cake we got. At her recommendation, we ordered up and purchased 100 slices for our 85-person wedding. We only had 2 slices left-over. Pros: + Our lemon-cake with raspberry-filling tasted good. + She makes her own fondant, so it actually tastes decent. + She set-up and decorated the cake on time. + Maggie is very sweet. + She worked within our limited budget ($455 for our cake and delivery). Cons: -Maggie works another job, and this is her side-business. She was often slow at answering e-mails (3-4 day turn around), which can be frustrating during the wedding-planning process. - We went down an unconventional route and did not hire a florist for our wedding. I think Maggie is used to working directly with florists when decorating a cake, so it was a bit challenging to communicate about what would be appropriate flowers for us to buy. If you're interested, I'd set up an appointment with Maggie to meet her and try her samples.

You are allowed to order two items at a time during the 90 minute brunch portion. You then have 30 minutes for the dessert items, though the waiter did say we could order more brunch items during that time too. I maxed out during round 5. Round 1: The MARIN COUNTY CHEESE TASTING and the PAN SEARED SCALLOP. There were three types of cheese on the plate with some fig jam and some raisin bread. Everything was super tasty. Loved the fig jam. The scallop was very nicely cooked. Loved the truffle foam. It was supposedly polenta foam but it was very smooth and not grainy at all. Round 2: CAVATELLI and CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES. I think the pasta was my favorite meal of the day. It had a great truffle and parmesan flavor. Soft pasta. Yum. The pancakes were also delicious. Nice and fluffy with melted chocolate chips. I did hold the ricotta cream from it as I know I don't like it. Round 3: LOBSTER ROLL and WAGYU BEEF SLIDER. The lobster roll was tasty but messy. I don't like caviar so I had that held. The slider was very tasty. The sauce on it was a bit too BBQ-sauce flavor for me but overall not a bad bite. Round 4: I did the ORGANIC MAITAKE MUSHROOM and another scallop. The mushrooms were super flavorful. Loved the crispy rice puffs on them. Round 5: I just did on plate - the BELGIAN WAFFLES. I loved the waffles. Crispy outside, soft inside. Warm apples on top and a big dollop of whipped cream. Yum! Dessert: There were carrot cakes, coconut macaroons, strawberry shortcakes and a chocolate pistachio balls. I only add the carrot cake there and took the rest home for later. The staff was very good. Always taking away empty plates and refilling drinks and water. A splurge of a meal but worth it for good food and service.

At almost $200 pp, we went in wanting to make sure we could order as much as we could during the time limit of the unlimited brunch. However, we didn't have to worry - the service was so fast, that by the end we were well stuffed that the time restraint was moot. Each person can order 2 dishes at a time, and we had the chance to cover everything we wanted to try off the menu and order our favorites multiple times. Some highlights were definitely the scallop and lamb (even as non-lamb lover). The salad also surprisingly stood out, it was really great to eat this paired with the seafood/meats especially towards the end of the meal. I also really enjoyed trying the different caviars, and always love a solid wagyu slider. Only wished they had cornichons to pair with the slider, but appreciate that the staff tried to find pickles for us in the kitchen. The meal ended with a afternoon tea tower of pastries, which we were at that point way too stuffed to take in. The one pastry I tried though, was really delicious, not too sweet. All in all, 10/10 experience. The cherry on top was the complimentary champagne for our celebration! Truly a splendid experience.
