After a long period of health challenges, I recently started riding a bicycle for exercise. My bike needed several repairs to make it safe and roadworthy, and Jim the owner completed them quickly and expertly and at a very reasonable cost. He gave me great riding tips, and even found a seat that reduced the pain in my posterior. Using his exceptional knowledge, Jim solved a number of problems for me, including a problem with my chain that was causing it to slip when riding. Anybody looking for a good local bike shop THIS IS THE ONE!! After weeks of searching online for a good bike I finally found one but it needed to be assembled. I'm just a casual rider so I don't have the knowledge or tools to put these new bikes together. I read reviews of shops close to my house but was discouraged when reading about the long wait times people had in getting their bikes back when they took them in. I saw a few people mention Fisk's and how they were happy with the service. Even though it is a good 20 minutes past my nearest bike shop, I figured I'd give them a shot. I brought my bike in and was pleasantly surprised when I was told it would be finished within 3 days. The other shops said anywhere from 3-5 weeks! The price I was quoted was the same I had heard from the others so this was definitely a good deal. On the third day I called ahead to make sure I wouldn't make an unnecessary trip and was very happy to hear my bike was ready as promised. I don't need to preach about how hard it is to find businesses these days who keep their word and deliver when they say they will. It's really nice when you find one. Fisk's absolutely delivered on time and with great customer service. I highly recommend. read more

I am new to e-bikes, got a foldable one online and got a flat tire after a few days, don't know how to repair. Local fancy bike shop in Vacaville refused to help if e-bike was not sold by them. Making phone calls some other local shop directed me to this place in neighboring town. I know it is supposed to be a simple thing, but I needed help, and the owner was very courteous, helpful, charged less than he had initially said. He said he repaired the tube and put slime sealant on it. Excellent service and attitude. read more

I brought my newer cruiser bicycle in for a problem with the rear axle sprocket. I had recently had to drop the bicycle in Tahoe when my wife's bike brake failed going down a hill. When I dropped the bike the right crank got bent. I got it fixed up there and kept on riding. Upon return to town, I was riding around and the chain started skipping. I made it home and parked the bike. Last evening I brought the bike to Fisk and met Jim. He told me exactly what was wrong and told me I could pick it up the next day. I went to Fisk midday today and the bike was repaired. He showed me the old broken part and showed me that he had installed a new rear Shimano rear sprocket. The cost was very reasonable too. Fisk sells poorly made bikes. Bought a new $300.+ Raleigh and with only a few hours on it the bearings crapped out. $44+ to repair. Jim is friendly and all but not happy at all with my purchase from him. read more

I recently posted on our local Dixon FB group to see if anyone had heard of this bike shop. Within a day, I had over 30 comments and over 30 likes giving Fisk's Cyclery RAVING reviews! Everyone said how great Jim the owner was, how quick and reasonably priced the shop was, they purchase all their bikes from them, have been going to him for over 20 years, he's a local long-time owner, etc. So of course I took our newly purchased and very used bicycles into Fisk's for repairs and a good tune up. The owner Jim was so friendly and welcoming. I let him know my experience asking for a recommendation on FB and he was shocked and so appreciative. He let me know the bikes would be ready the next day (AWESOME!), but to take our time picking them up. We then chatted about the condition of our bikes and the bikes he carries in the shop. When my husband picked up the bikes, he said the same thing: how friendly Jim was. I was very satisfied with the work they did and the price Jim charged. It was VERY reasonable; I actually expected it to cost more considering we needed some repairs also. I was so impressed and so glad I found this little gem.
