RUDE & DEMEANING ! I went in to inquire about plans & prices, rather than be straightforward and answer my question, he had me make an appointment to come in when I had more time. That's fine, nothing wrong with that so far. I went in for our scheduled appointment, he walked me thru the whole process. At the end, he tells me the price $600. I was shocked and said I would like to think about it. He IMMEDIATELY changed his demeanor toward me and was rude, condescending, and talked DOWN at me like I suddenly didn't deserve respect anymore bcus I wanted some time to consider. He was very unprofessional and threw a fit, he acted like a little child who didn't get his way. He ignored me as if I was no longer even in the room, only turning to speak to me to say demeaning things such as "I know you're going to go home and convince yourself you don't deserve the body you want, you don't deserve to meet your goals, you don't deserve to be happy" "you wont meet your goals and you'll be sorry." My self-esteem has nothing to do with the fact that I don't need to place that much monetarily value to meet my fitness goals. No disrespect to anyone who pays whatever amount of money in any way , just for me I do well in other programs as well, I came here just looking to vary it up. But what pisses me off is that this abusive, bullying tactic is very unhealthy to someone who might come here at a low place in their life and vulnerable! It's sickening! To act like an entitled brat who throws a fit, in BUSINESS. This is business, YOU chose to employ the business tactic of taking your time to walk a potential client thru a process before revealing your price that is fine, but don't act unprofessional and blame the client for YOUR choice in sales tactic. A colleague of mine trains here and she had a one-month pass that she was nice enough to gift to me. Back in 2013, I lost 40 pounds, strictly through cardio (running, elliptical, etc.) and making better food decisions. Where I was lacking was in the core strength department. This is what I really like about Fit 2 the Core -- I did semi-private training sessions that I felt were efficient, effective, tailored to my fitness level/ability and complimentary to my continued running routine. I mainly worked with Tim and Steve, who are both fantastic. Although I ultimately decided not to join, my experience was very positive. They have lots of class/training time options from early morning through evening, but still a challenge with my full-time work and grad school schedule. (I generally work out at 5:00 am before work and they don't have semi-private available that early.) I also have a gym membership, so I can't justify spending the additional money...at least at the present time. They recently moved to this location which is large and has huge doors which can be opened if it becomes too hot! I say YEA! to that because the workouts are going to make you sweat! The workouts are designed to get maximum results with the least possible effort. What this means is that I am not in a gym every day for an hour or two doing cardio and/or strength training on one specific group of muscles a day. The workouts are full body workouts specifically designed to do more than just tone you up but to also increase metabolism and fat burning. The best part of Fit 2 the Core are the trainers - Donnie, Tim, and Kenny. They are very focused on the individual which includes mentoring for group challenges and achieving individual goals and are with you every step of the way. They accomplish this not only with the exercises but also through nutrition mentoring. They are just as knowledgeable about nutrition as they are regarding kinesiology. You will see the commitment that the trainers have to the individual especially in a group class - the team does an excellent job of ensuring you are using proper form when exercising and provides that one on one attention when needed. I absolutely LOVE this place. This gym is more than just a place to work out. There is a spirit of camaraderie and encouragement not just from the trainers but from the members as well. So I have been needing to get in shape for a long time now and decided that I would give the 2 week no obligation free trial a go here at Fit 2 the Core. After my 2 weeks I couldn't wait to join!! The first workout alone I was sore for 3 DAYS!!! It was amazing! I can truly say that both Donnie & Tim know what they are doing and I love how in a class of 15 people they still take the time to help me and better me when I am working out. This gym is truly unique. They specialize in individual progressions in health, strength, cardio, and any other fitness goals you may have whether big or small. I finished the Results Boot Camp in October. In 3 weeks I lost 6 lbs, of which about 5 lbs was fat, and a total of almost 5 inches. I wanted to finally get a jumpstart on my overall health and body shape and boy did I! Needless to say I joined after that. The classes are excellent. I have never sweat so much in my life, and I love it. The trainers are top notch. I even cancelled my regular gym membership. This is so much better. There is a lot of variety in the workouts and there is someone there who is making sure that you're using correct form, and always pushing for more out of you. I've been working out at Fit 2 the Core since December 2017. I came to the gym 5 months postpartum, stressed, tired and with a long history of injuries, caused by two impact car crashes as a young person and a fall on the stairs as an adult. I have suffered longterm, chronic pain off and on from 13-31 years old and it was exacerbated by pregnancy and giving birth last year. I have seen many different medical professionals (both eastern and western based medicine) over the years who have improved my health but never greatly improved my pain. I found Fit 2 the Core through a childhood friend of mine, and he was extremely helpful right from the start. Chris had me come in for an evaluation to see if I would be appropriate for their one of kind, personal fitness program. He did a series of physical tests with me and made a recommended fitness program based on MY abilities and SCIENCE BASED EVIDENCE (my favorite as I am a registered nurse). Each phase of the program builds on itself, making sure to work my body just enough, in the right ways and with the correct form. I am sore after workouts, but not so sore I can't function or come back to work out again. The change in my physical and mental status is encouraging and keeps me coming back, as does my commitment to the one of kind personal training by our coaches. Most of all, in 7 short MONTHS my 19 YEAR battle with chronic pain is practically over. My pain has improved by 90%. This is MIRACULOUS and life-changing for me, my family and my labor intensive job. I worked out at F2C for six years and it was worth every penny. I had exercised regularly for 30 years but really didn't know what I was doing until I learned the right way to structure a workout and to perform each exercise at F2C. Chris was the trainer for most of my sessions and he was great to work with. The only reason I left was my work schedule required that I attend the 5am session and getting up at 4 something go old after a while. I still use all of the knowledge I gained at F2C and it has kept me injury free and in great condition ever since. read more

Loved joining F2C for periods of time because I always put in 200% effort and got that back in the form of amazing results. I've never felt better about myself when I was a member. Great classes, exercises, dietary guidance, etc. Tim, the owner, could take a few lessons on being a bit more friendly and approachable. He rarely made eye contact or bothered to say hello when I would see him during my workouts either before or after classes. The reason I am giving only 3 stars here (which really deserves 5 stars) is because of the membership fee$. I think Fit to the Core is one of the best kept secrets in the East Bay. I started taking my son there as part of his rehab program for his knee. The trainers, including Tim, the owner, and Joey, are extremely professional and top-notch, and after working with them, my son started getting stronger and was able to get back into his sports program. Donnie and TIm has generously been working with my son for almost two years. Training in strength and conditioning, Nicholas has been able to excel in football, basketball and Jiu Jitsu. Most importantly, the staff really cares about each client and works really hard to get us the results we want. The workouts are tailored to each client and take physical limitations into consideration. Nutritional support is very detailed yet easy to follow. I am getting great results from the scripted one-hour workouts, better than I ever did "back in the day" spending hours abusing my joints with heavy weights and wasting hours on the treadmill or exercise bike. No waiting for machines or putting up with gym drama, the staff keeps us on track while making it fun. My fiance and I enrolled in this bootcamp in Concord which is real convenient since we live in Walnut Creek. The class started out a little slow but I guess that is important for stretching. I love this gym and have been a member since they opened. I generally attend bookcamp MWF mornings and so I train most with Tim and sometimes with Dana. Saturdays are with Donnie. The whole team is great. They are good coaches, educators and motivators. I appreciate the diet/food guidance. Fit 2 The Core is amazing! I would recommend them for all ages. The trainers are so friendly and personable. Tim helped my brother strengthen his knee after he had surgery to repair his torn ACL and Meniscus. I started training with them because I wanted to shed some unwanted pounds and in the process they helped me strength in my entire core and learn so much about food and my diet. All the training staff are attentive and take the time to make sure you're doing the exercises correctly and getting the full benefit out of every exercise. Dana is always able to motivate me to get through the work out even on those off days. All in all its a totally positive way to get into great shape and have fun doing it. read more

I highly recommend F2C. The three trainers - Tim, Donnie & Dana are all awesome and while they offer group training the classes are kept small enough that each trainer can watch what is going on and provide instruction and/or correction when necessary. It is like having private training sessions w/o the price. I joined January 2010 and could not do one male push-up. About 3 months into my membership Tim noticed that the modified push ups aka "girl push ups" were too easy for me and advanced me to an incline push up. About 3 months ago I was able to complete 28 male push ups over 4 circuits. Doesn't sound like much but for me it is a huge accomplishment. My point is, the trainers were watching me as I gained strength and pushed me to the next level. They continue to do so and it says a lot about how invested each trainer becomes with each client. Seriously if you live in the area, try out the 21 day boot camp or take them up on their free offers when they are available. You will not be disappointed. read more

Fit 2 the Core has changed my life dramatically and I have only been going for a few months. Prior to F2C, working out and getting healthy seemed impossible. I felt lost at the gym and when I did try to lose weight I always gained it back right away. Right at the start, the coaches and staff at F2C made me feel welcomed. They didn't judge me or make me feel uncomfortable. When I didn't know how to do something, or even worse, when I couldn't do something, they brushed it off like it was no problem and gave me a new exercise or strategy. I joined this gym a year ago at the age of 54. I was reluctant, self-conscious and skeptical about obtaining good results. This is a review for the Youth Training at Fit 2 the Core. My mom goes to Fit 2 the Core and wanted us to go there to learn the right ways to train and to get good information on nutrition for kids that play sports. WE LOVE IT! The trainers that we work with pay a lot of attention to us and how we do the training. They make sure we use proper technique so that we don't get injured. My brother loves it and he just recently came in 6th place out of 300 people in a 10K race. The training has made him stronger all over his body to be able to take his running (and his basketball) to another level. For me, in soccer, my kicks were stronger, my acceleration and ability to move quickly with agility has increased, it is awesome. Our whole bodies feel stronger and we definitely feel like we can play harder & longer than most people. We are lucky to have parents who care about our health and fitness that they would get us to Fit 2 The Core and keep our bodies fit for life. I have been a happy member of F2C now for four years. First what I fell in love with were the workouts. They were complex, they were interesting, the coaches made sure that I was doing the movements correctly and kept me challenged but safe. I wasn't being pushed too far or too fast. The second thing that I fell in love with was the community. The people at F2C are incredible. Everyone from the coaches, the owner and his wife, to the members. It's a tight knit community of loving people. I have made a lot of friends and can come in any time of day and have a buddy to work out with. The third thing that I fell in love with F2C is the approach they take to fitness. It is a mind/body approach. They do not just weigh you and focus on the number on the scale. I met with Tim Rudd for 2:45 minutes for his so called STRATEGY SESSION. How do I know for sure? When I said I just wanted a few days to think it over he reminded me of the 2:45 minutes HE had spent and respectfully requested that I drop him a line concerning my decision, one way or another. I had no problem with that. That was a Tues and the next Mon I sent him a message telling him that I was ALMOST SURE that I was going to sign up. I just wanted some time at his office to peruse the agreement with my glasses on. He won't let his standard agreements out of his sight and PERSONAL TRAINING is quite expensive and they are looking to lock you into a commitment. HE DID NOT REPLY. I called the next Sat and left a message requesting that he get back to ME, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, as he had requested, since I had to determine my fitness/health path moving forward. NOTHING.
