I received my first order but the next week I got an email that a delivery was 'on the way'. It never arrived. I emailed about this and there was never a response. So I canceled my subscription and got an email notification from them confirming this. But I kept getting notices that I was getting deliveries. I wasn't placing orders and I don't know where the mystery deliveries went, as it wasn't to me. I emailed and texted multiple times and have never gotten a response. Ordered a breakfast burrito for delivery, and expected it to arrive freshly made, but a few minutes in the toaster oven plus a quick blast of heat in the microwave did the trick. For something re-heated, it tasted much better than I expected. The chunks of bacon were especially tasty. I would like to see them use less plastic though. No need for everything to be in a plastic container when it could just be wrapped in paper. The vibes are right- great customer service, super clean interior, and lots of options for meals, snacks, and drinks (Celsius!!). Prices are a little high but I think it's because of the ingredients used. There's an area where you can sit an eat, though fairly limited seating. There is hand sanitizer provided, and the employee working was wearing a mask. There seemed to only be one person working when I went in, which kind of concerned me. Letting a woman work by herself downtown? But also like, what if she has to use the bathroom or take the trash out? I placed an order this past weekend. I did not receive the meals I ordered. I figured that due to the Easter holiday, there may have been a mishap. I called and left a message. No callback. I reached out via their customer service form on the website, sent multiple emails (both in response to their receipt and directly to their support email address), called every day, and also reached out via Instagram. I've reached out to my bank to handle the matter for me, as I'd like a refund if the business is unwilling to return a phone call or find a resolution for the food I've already paid for. For years, I have tried every single pre-made meal delivery service to help with my hectic schedule: Freshly, Factor, HomeChef, CookUnity, Thistle, etc... but each had their own problems, ranging from questionable quality, missed deliveries, damaged food packaging, subscription requirements, unresponsive customer service, etc... I have decided to try FitEats since I live in the Sacramento midtown area and can pick up the meals in person. Ordering online is easy, and their platform allows you to select your meals up to two days in advance. Store hours are incredibly accommodating (open seven days a week, including Sundays until 7pm). I typically pick up my order on Sundays late afternoon. Staff is friendly and helpful. Meals are pre-made, and come in sealed packaging to be reheated when ready to eat. I am glad to report that the meals are good quality, consistent, and (factoring in inflation costs) priced fairly. I did note that some meals are smaller in terms of portion, but for a few extra dollars FitEats offers a large portion version of the dish. Meal selection is diverse, and I have seen the menu rotate frequently enough to keep offerings interesting. All-in-all, for pre-made meals that you can reheat on a moment's notice, FitEats offers in my opinion the best service and quality compared to their big-brand competitors. So if you are looking for convenience, flexibility, and consistent levels of quality, this is the place to go. One note: there were one or two meals that had damaged packaging when they were handed to me. It was staff who caught the issue, as they took the time to verify each box in the order. Their website and departments for customer service are ridiculous. I signed up for a weekly delivery subscription. My box never came. I emailed multiple times and even called the number listed on the website. No one could figure out why they couldn't see my account online and they weren't willing to give me a refund even though I forward them all of my confirmation emails. I ended up going to the store to pick up meals and the people were great at helping, but I find it a little odd that you run/own a store and you can't figure out the process for whom to contact for my issue. It sucks because their meals, I feel like taste better than factor meals and they have better macros, but with me having to end up calling my credit card company to dispute the charge because their customer service and system is ridiculous. read more

Food is just okay. The meals are ULTRA low-calorie, like 300ish. That's not really enough for a dinner. Barely enough for a lunch. At $12-$15/meal I expect more. The real issue, though, is the customer experience is incredibly difficult to navigate. I placed one order for pickup and got signed up for subscription at 15 meals a WEEK. I have tried to cancel the subscription through multiple customer service e-mail addresses and phone numbers, always getting runaround to some other representative or phone number. Working my weekend job at the mortuary and not having enough time to drive across town to pick up what I'd like to eat, decided to use the Door Dash app and take advantage of my Dash Pass. Food arrived nicely wrapped in a clean white paper bag, packaged very well, had all the ingredients listed, even gives helpful label stickers saying "if you don't add this or that, then your salad can be vegan" aka if you add cheese then it's more vegetarian. I ordered the Impossible (burger) Taco Salad and it was delicious. Spiced well, portions were decent, price was about $12 and ordered $1 homemade peanut butter cup for a sweet treat. -- Love the concept of this place. My Sunday routine. Grabbing dinners for the week. Located in midtown off of 16th and next to Ike's Sandwiches. Since this is midtown there is only street parking. If you know you'll be in and out, there is 15 minute parking right up front. Fit eats is a great place to shop for pre cooked meals that are reasonably priced and healthy! All of their meals are gluten free and freezable. They put the size and expiration dates right on the packaging. They have a pretty wide menu to choose from and the items marked with a little yellow tag are discounted. These meals are perfect to bring for lunch or for those who have no time to cook during the week. They can be microwaved in their packaging and they also have a microwave in the store if you wanted to heat it up there. They also have smaller side items for sale as well as chips and heather treats. If you sign up for their rewards program you get $10 off your 5th visit! You can purchase in store or order through door dash! They have online ordering as well but they just re did their website and it's a bit pricier and the menu is different than the in store locations. read more

The Fit Eats website is not accurate. I ordered on 8/27 for delivery date 8/29 and the meals didn't arrive. Contacted email support nothing. Tried a phone number to text about 4 days later on website and was given the number to Roseville store. Spoke with a new owner who said she orders on Tuesdays and if I still wanted meals would need to wait another week. Meals would arrive on Saturday to their store and on Sunday I would receive delivery. No meals Sunday call again and was told my meals were transferred to midtown and their delivery day is Monday 9/8. Of course Monday comes no meals and I received a email at 5:30 pm that I can come pickup my meals tomorrow at their midtown location. So frustrating at this point, I paid $12 for delivery. There is only one store you can call the Roseville store. Cannot talk to midtown. The hours are not accurate on their website for midtown. We use to get their meals delivered all the time great service a few years ago. I would not recommend. One of the girls that answers the phone in Roseville says she has nothing to do with delivery so you have to keep calling for the manager. *UPDATE*  Highly recommend Fit Eats.  Not a single meal was disappointing.  Two meals were not my favorite, but not because of anything to fault Fit Eats.  One meal was simply not to my personal taste, but the quality of the meal was great and I absolutely ate every bite.  One meal, the Turkey Sliders, I simply should have heated differently (and I knew it, but went ahead with microwave).  I think an air fryer would be good for that one - just to crisp the fries up - but, again, I ate every bite.  (Pro-Tip:  Have the BBQ Chicken Salad for lunch and Turkey Sliders for dinner, using leftover dressing for fry sauce).    Favorite meal:  Mongolian Beef - this was really, really delish!   Overall, two thumbs up!   I ordered Fit Eats because I have been walking a tightrope between high-normal A1C and pre-diabetes.  I hadn't been able to kick my late night sugar cravings, and was not able to budge the scale down.  I wanted ready-to-go fresh meals, but they needed to be healthy - AND affordable.  Even though I have no dietary restrictions or allergies, I liked that Fit Eats identified their meals as Keto, Gluten-Free, and even with WW points.  For breakfast I had a Revive smoothie every day, and Fit Eats meals were my lunch and dinner.   They were well balanced, so (after the first couple days) I was neither hungry in between meals nor kicked into carb cravings.      I had looked at about 10 prepared meal delivery services before deciding on Fit Eats.  I went with them because:  1) Local, 2) "Regular" food - not "too" fit for my needs, 3) Price was moderate.  There were some services less expensive and some much higher.  For my needs (and budget) I feel that I got much more than I expected! read more

Have driven by the midtown location and Kiefer kitchen a few times. Placed two online orders so far, didn't really go for any particular entree meal, but instead the bulk items: Herb Chicken Breast (1lb) Cilantro Lime Brown Rice Seasonal Vegetables Adobo Chicken (1lb) Grilled Flank Steak (1lb) Braised Balsamic Chicken (1lb) Orders are delivered between 11PM-6AM, in reusable insulated bags (previously with ice gel packs, now with water bottles). Bags can be returned at either the midtown, Roseville, or Kiefer locations, otherwise picked up with next order delivery. Pretty convenient. The grilled flank steak was my favorite. The seasonal veggies were just broccoli florets and spiralized spaghetti squash. I won't order the veggies again, since I can do broccoli myself and Vegetti some zucchini on my own. The cilantro lime brown rice was good, I usually do white rice or quinoa for my preps. The adobo chicken I used as a base but doctored up the adobo sauce. The herb chicken was ok as is but I did grill it again, the balsamic chicken was a bit dry. Menu changes monthly and some items seasonal. 2 weeks ago I decided to cancel my Factor subscription to give my local Fit Eats a try again for my weekly meals. I have used them for the last 2 weeks so this is not a one off experience and I have used them in the past. I went into the store to pick up 18 meals for my wife and I. Only lunch/dinner meals. The one thing I noticed is that a lot of their food is dated about 8-10 days out. In the past it was only 5 days out. This raised a red flag. I have tried multiple meal prep companies and most don't encourage you to eat the food past 5 days at most a week. After taking the food home the quality was awful. One of my meals seemed like it was a half order of the barbacoa enchiladas. I ordered two and both were regular size but one was only half filled. It was pitiful after spending 12 bucks on the meal. I took that one as a one off but then the beef and broccoli was literally burned broccoli and over cooked steak. Seemed old and gross as you can imagine I was hugely disappointed. The final straw was the Turkey mac and cheese was made with either goat cheese or was spoiled. I ended up throwing the meal away. Not every meal was disappointing but they were definitely not worth the 12 dollars it costs for the regular meal. Another thing I noticed was they placed these stickers on their clear plastic packaging. Not something they have done in the past. According to the instructions they encourage you to cook it with the plastic film on but the stickers warp the packaging. As I mentioned I have tried this place before and I remember them having way better quality. We liked them in past but stopped using them because they raised their prices considerably. With increased price and the poor quality I will mot be using them again. I would encourage management to look into this weeks meals they were literally awful and poor quality for the price and the customers you target we deserve better. read more

I'll keep it simple: Quality Control I bought food for the week including two Mushroom Mozzarella Burgers and both of them were missing the cheese. Each of these comes with a side of Yam fries. One meal had only six Yam fries on the side. It also, instead of one burger patty on the bun had two small slider patties on the bun side-by-side and the mushrooms had slid down in between the patties of course with no meat to hold them up. Where is the quality control on fries and burger patties? Also, Should turkey patties that are cooked still be visibly pink on the outside? Also, be very careful handling the meals they quite often do not seal them completely. There appears to be something about the adhesive and they are aware of it. I got a meal home that had a piece of scotch tape holding it together previously. The tape was hidden by loose cardboard in the store. The meal was liquid based and made a mess of my trunk. I really wanted to give this establishment a try because I am always looking for healthy eats with a busy schedule. The first time I went in the person at the front counter was very standoffish and had trouble answering basic questions I had about the products. I left without purchasing anything because the supply was low (not blaming them at all, it happens). Next, I found a groupon for fiteats and I purchased it but it happened to only be for shipping to specific areas not in the Sacramento region. Why would a regional company only sell groupons to people outside of their region (especially food) is beyond me but when I called inquiring about the locations I can possibly have my food shipped, the manager was very aggressive over the phone and immediately placed blame on me for not reading the groupon correctly. Was it my fault? Definitely! But I came off asking for solutions (very politely) to what I imagine might be a common problem and she offered horrible customer service and was quite rude. I expected some level of respectfulness from a manger but that was a lost cause and the second time I felt disrespected by an establishment (especially a small one) I really wanted to try this fiteats but it's hard for me to support such unpleasantness. I've had some minor issues with the food here and there, and they were always great about listening to me and fixing the issues professionally. It's healthy, pre-made food, so factually you are going to sacrifice some flavors that you might be used to and some freshness vs food that is prepared right then. It's basically like having super healthy leftovers. If you're cool with that, FitEats might be great for you. Over the last month and a half, I've been getting almost all of my Monday-Friday breakfast and lunches delivered (and some dinners). It was mostly for the convenience of not having to plan meals, shop, cook, clean, etc., but I actually came out of the holiday season having lost 8-10 lbs. I was shocked because I was eating whatever I wanted for most dinners and on the weekend, not to mention the usual holiday stuff, and I was definitely not exercising as much as I should have been (unless you counting clicking "Next" on Netflix as good cardio). Aside from losing some weight and having less stress with what to bring to work to eat, it also kept me from buying stuff that would have taken up room and then rotted in my fridge. Even though $7-10 seems like a lot per meal, I don't think I've actually spent more on food overall. I want my money back. I spent $33 and some change for what seemed to be 2 frozen dinners. If I had wanted frozen dinners I would have gone to the store. The restaurant should state that the food is delivered frozen. I am not normally a pain in the ass when it comes to delivered food, especially during the pandemic.. but this is sad. To have "chef prepared" food delivered cold just so we can MICROWAVE it is bullshit and disgraceful to whoever prepared it. We ate it, but it was garbage.
