The strawberry crème donut was a pleasant surprise too. I'm usually not a filled donut person, but the balance here was spot on. Just the right amount of filling, not too sweet. The donut holes were the one minor miss as it was a little dense and heavy compared to what I was hoping for. I'd probably ask next time if they're fresh out of the fryer before ordering. In addition, the donuts tasted like they had been cooked in warm oil instead of hot oil, the flavor was a bit off, they tasted a few days old, they were very chewy, instead of "cake-like" and the icing on most of the donuts was sticky and melting similar to leaving a donut out on your counter in the summer; the icing was just dripping off the donuts. All of the flavors were so delicious! Perfect for a nice warm afternoon. The female worker that took our order was very friendly and gave good recommendations. The donuts came out extremely fast! I hadn't even finished ordering the ice cream and the donuts were already on the counter ready for me. The workers were also trying to catch a flying bee, and they ended up catching it. Don (new owner who was the baker for over 30 years) smiled and was very personable and patient when we were salivating over how many to get of each.
