I've been purchasing FitEats pretty regularly for a couple months now and continue to be impressed with them. I've had some minor issues with the food here and there, and they were always great about listening to me and fixing the issues professionally. It's healthy, pre-made food, so factually you are going to sacrifice some flavors that you might be used to and some freshness vs food that is prepared right then. It's basically like having super healthy leftovers. If you're cool with that, FitEats might be great for you. Over the last month and a half, I've been getting almost all of my Monday-Friday breakfast and lunches delivered (and some dinners). It was mostly for the convenience of not having to plan meals, shop, cook, clean, etc., but I actually came out of the holiday season having lost 8-10 lbs. I was shocked because I was eating whatever I wanted for most dinners and on the weekend, not to mention the usual holiday stuff, and I was definitely not exercising as much as I should have been (unless you counting clicking "Next" on Netflix as good cardio). Aside from losing some weight and having less stress with what to bring to work to eat, it also kept me from buying stuff that would have taken up room and then rotted in my fridge. Even though $7-10 seems like a lot per meal, I don't think I've actually spent more on food overall. I usually order the Mon-Wed-Fri delivery to my house for my meals, but it is nice to be able to stop into the store if I forget or need something extra. read more

Let me start by saying, I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS. I always have good intentions when I have exceptional or exceptionally bad experiences, but let's face it: life is busy! That being said, I feel compelled to write a review for Superfoods In Motion because I really, really, really want them to be successful and stay in business! I came in to work on a Tuesday and my friend Barbara (see her review from 2/6) was ordering food online. She told me all about this new family owned business that offers locally sourced, organic, homemade meals with various options for other dietary needs. NO COMMITMENT, NO MINIMUM ORDER, NO TAX, FREE DELIVERY OVER $20. I'm sorry, WHAAAAT?! Immediately I checked out the website and was able to get an order in by the noon deadline for a Wednesday delivery. I started out just ordering three days worth of breakfasts, lunches and dinners as a trial for taste and quality. This also meant that I wouldn't be needing to make that trip to the grocery store that afternoon as planned. SCORE!! Wednesday morning I woke up to two soft-sided ice chests full of individually prepared meals, as shown in the picture I posted above. For the sake of brevity, I'll just say that the FOOD IS DELICIOUS! There are "regular" or "large" portion sizes; I ordered "regular" and it was the perfect amount of food for me (and I'm an eater!) I'VE ORDERED TWICE MORE SINCE THEN, AND AM STILL EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE AND FOOD. EVEN MORE SO NOW, AND HERE'S WHY: For my order this week, I was able to make the Sunday noon deadline for Monday delivery, so I went for one of the package deals: five days worth of lunch and dinner, chef's choice at 10% off full value. When I unpacked my fun bags of food, I saw that I only had two days worth of lunches and dinners. I called to find out why (thinking perhaps one of the bags for delivery got left behind accidentally), and found out that the other three days worth will be delivered on their next delivery day, Wednesday, because that is how they ensure that clients get the freshest food possible! When I had been considering the package options (there are great options to choose from that offer a discount), I had wondered how some of the items would keep through the week; especially those with lettuce or other perishables. Now I know!!! I'm telling you, this is a well-thought business! As a young, single person with a busy life and not any real passion or energy to cook, this service is a lifesaver!!!! Even if you're not single and/or have kids, you can pick and choose which meals you need to save some stress (i.e. order breakfasts and lunches and still have dinner with your family). It's easy, convenient, hassle/commitment free, and SO AFFORDABLE!! Seriously! The cost per meal is very reasonable, and the package deals cost about the same as I would spend for a weeks worth of groceries... except I'm not cooking or cleaning up the mess after! AND my portions are already made for me, so no more overeating! I cannot stop raving to everyone I know about Superfoods In Motion, in hopes to keep this family business in business! There are only two minor suggestions I would make: 1. Food containers come with labels listing ingredients, heating instructions and nutritional value (they are working on getting more values listed). It would be helpful to also have a symbol for "freezable" for the items that are, so that people don't have to refer back to the website to know which will keep longer when packing their meals for the day. 2. As I was confused receiving only 2 out of 5 days worth of meals, I'm sure other people would be as well when ordering one of the packages. It would save a lot of confusion if there is a note on the "package and gift card" tab stating that delivery of package deals is broken up to ensure a fresh product. Picked up my first order last week and I was not really impressed. I will list the things I ordered and the review: teriyaki tofu was terrible and mushy, roasted yams were covered with too much pepper. Bean burger was edible and tasty. Thai tofu was alright, the tofu was not fried or baked, just lopped on. Egg casserole, had zero flavor. Cilantro rice had NO cilantro. I e-mailed the company to ask if it was a mistake and they told me the cilantro rice is cooked in a liquid cilantro flavoring. That was the strangest thing, despite that it did not taste like any flavoring at all. Not sure I can waste my money on this again. I love the concept and wish there were more companies that provided this service. I am more vegetarian/plant-based so this might not be a great option for me. I love the meatloaf, it is turkey I think and quite flavorful with a nice sauce. It comes with cauliflower mashed potatoes and green beans. I find it needs more salt for my taste, and bead, but that makes it less healthy. They could cook the beans a but more, can be hard. Haven't yet tried the others, loaf is just too good. I was super excited for this place to open because I've been stalking their website and a few people I know have raved about it. I walked over from work last week to check it out since they were having a promotional deal of buy 2 get one free. I purchased the breakfast fit-ritto (see photo), the corned beef hash and yams, and the terriyaki noodle bowl with chicken. I'll start with what I liked. I like the fact that I can conveniently walk over here from work and pick out a cheat meal for my meal plan since I'm currently training for a marathon and various other activities. I also like the fact that the ingredients and nutrition labels are clear. If you are counting calories or macros - this is great. Customer service in store seems nice too. The Chicken Terriyaki noodle bowl was the best one out of the three i purchased. Great flavor and it was brown rice noodles. Low cal and a sufficient amount of carbs for me. Downside... I didn't like the corned beef hash and eggs it was unflavorful. I usually make this dish at home and I can get just the same amount of calories, but with a bang of flavor. I won't be repurchasing this one. The bigger upset was the breakfast fit-ritto. Originally, I had gotten all three choices because I'm allergic to dairy. And all three options were dairy free .. or so I thought. On saturday morning I warmed up my breakfast ritto and noticed the oven was dripping something. Before I even took a bite, I noticed the cheese. Good thing I didnt even eat it because I could've swelled up like a balloon. I had to double check the label and no where on the label does it say cheese. I called the store and the person who answered the phone double checked the label for me and confirmed no cheese. Yet my burrito had cheese? And he didn't seem to know any of answers to any of my questions. He was nice and took down my number and told me he would call me back when the owner got back to him about the burrito. Well ... no one called me back. No one answered my questions. And I'm left with a burrito with cheese in it that I can't eat. Oh and no breakfast on a Saturday. :( This is a huge failure because if it wasn't suppose to have cheese I clearly got the wrong order. And if it is suppose to have cheese the label is clearly wrong for people like me who have allergies. This could've ended up way worse. I mean at least call a customer back especially if their allergic. That's customer service. If you want to have it fixed, ensure the burrito was in fact mis labeled, maybe even an apology? I probably won't be back tho... there seems to be a few more tweeks that need to made before sales go off the wall for them. Please fix your labels. Please indicate allergies. And please call your customers back when you say you will. I'm editing this review (3/24/14): Only because the owner called me back and has tried to reach me multiple times due to the mistake. And when I mean multiple - he has tried to call me at least 6 times. This is true customer service. They've fixed it and apologized. That's all I really wanted and that proves that they do in fact care about their customers. I appreciate the apology and acknowledgement on what happened. read more

Yesterday I came here for the first time. I was in a really big hurry and wanted to get in and get out & be on my way. I grabbed a salad, and as I was doing that one of the people there suggested I get one of the 50% off salads if I was going to eat it right away. I was in such a hurry I didn't even see the 50% off so I thanked him, paid and left. When I go to my car and opened my salad I was VERY disappointed. There was literally 6 leaves of kale. I got the kale & goat cheese salad with chicken. While I was not happy with the lack of kale (my salad looked nothing like the pictures they show) I do have to say it was a very good salad. I am super picky when it comes to chicken and I did like the chicken that came with this salad. I paid $4.50 (half off). I would have been pissed if I paid full price for this. I can't imagine paying $9 for what I got (see picture). I do love this idea, and I LOVE that someone is bringing healthy quick options. I will check them out again, because I want to see their other options. However, I may just end up going to Jack's and ordering a salad there...super quick, huge salads for about the same price. Obviously they need to make a profit. They do have locally grown foods, which is awesome and I know it costs more but I still can't get over paying $9 for my tiny salad. Oh my Goodness! My husband and the kids and I were on the way to the Bay Area and we wanted to stop and explore Sacramento. We were also hungry! This is the cutest, friendliest place. The kids had the turkey Mac and cheese, I had the carne asada bowl and my husband had the shepherd's pie (his favorite). He said it was the best he's ever had. We stocked up on some more nibbles, but we will certainly eat here every time we pass through. Cannot recommend this place enough. And the gal running the place, I think her name was Barbara, was so fun and cheery, she made shopping and buying the delicious food an amazing event. I am a long time subscriber, over 2 years now and still LOVING Fit Eats. I tried other home food delivery from already prepared meals to the ones that you cook. And all I can say it that FIT EATS WON in every aspect- great pricing, delicious foods, diet plan choices and on time delivery. The foods are so good that I even forget I'm on a diet. Actually, I'm not anymore. Fit Eats helped me achieved my weight goal a year ago. But I order for maintenance and convenience. Especially after splurging on vacation. This place is pretty cool. Nestled between O & N streets on 16th street. You walk in and its a very vibrant green color on the wall. There are refrigerators in the wall there labeled for Breakfast Lunch & Dinner. I had grabbed the Teriyaki Chicken Noodle Bowl. They make a regular size and a large size an there is a $2 difference from what I overheard for 1/3 more food for $2 more basically. They have a pretty good selection of different foods to tempt the taste buds. The chicken was moist and well flavored. But the noodles were ok. I think they were dry from the reheat process. But I also felt they could have used a touch of sauce. The mushrooms and asparagus were yummy as well. This is a great spot if you're trying to eat healthy and say if u forgot your lunch. Excellent choice and not to mention the nice walk to get there. The lunch filled me up for sure but didn't give me that sleepy feeling because I ate too heavy. They also have food delivery. Nowhere on their Postmates profile does it say that this place is a preprepared menu and will arrive cold in boxes that you have to cook yourself. As a busy mom, I wanted to order a healthy lunch for my family and I got what looked like frozen meals. Then when we cooked it, it was all also terrible tasting to boot. No flavor, soggy, and gross. Great concept. Fit Eats originated as a meal service and this is their first retail location. All food is prepared at their other location and shipped to their downtown store. Everything is refrigerated and there is a microwave to heat it up. They don't have a vegetarian option except for some breakfast items but they said they're expanding it. The menu varies every week. Ingredients, calories and nutritional content are displayed on every item. Perfect for those trying to lose weight and/or those looking to eat healthy. Most lunch and dinner items are $9+. Kind of pricey considering it's not made to order and you have to heat it up yourself but very convenient if you're looking for a quick meal or for something to get now and eat later. I was surprised by how good these healthy meals taste. I ordered a dozen meals for my family and all of the meals were healthy and tasted great. A few of the entrees were not large enough portions for my my husband however the company offers a larger portion option on most meals. Overall I was satisfied with my purchase. My only negative point was the FEDEX delivery and they would not utilize the gate code for my private gated driveway. Since I had a large delivery window and I can't see the end of my driveway; I had to continually walk to end of the driveway and check to see if it was delivered. Only found a couple items that I did not care for but just my preference otherwise have never been disappointed. Bought a Groupon and went to the store to pick out my items and of course it took me 20 mins because they have so many dang good looking meals. I tired the Parmesan chicken, it was moist and saucy and the noodles weren't what I expected (in a good way). I also had the stawberry protein pancakes with eggs and bacon, which blew my mind. Today was my first time ordering from Fit Eats, and I am pleasantly surprised! I feel like oftentimes these pre-prepped meal options aren't very good. Often lacking flavor. But this was delicious! I ordered the vegetarian chili and the flavors were on point! So flavorful and definitely satisfying. Their added touches to my order made my first experience even better; there was a cute note written on my bag thanking me for my order and they even included a homemade peanut butter cup which I'm very excited to try. The meat had a weird flavor and texture, honestly the best thing was the asparagus, I personally don't feel like it's worth the $12.49 I'd rather cook it myself and have enough for 3 meals... I ordered Fit Eats for delivery to my house the first time. I ordered four meals. They were all delivered early this morning in an insulated bag with an ice pack. I ate the chicken enchilada casserole one for lunch today, and it was so good! I'm really glad I decided to try them out. I often have to eat in my car and am the epitome of poor nutrition but have little time to work out or learn the ins and outs of proper nutrition.. I grab whatever is easy and quick and eat it and have only very simple aforementioned nutrition knowledge. Fit eats i figured would be perfect for me.. It's convenient and parking is easier than anywhere else in downtown, the location is great. The facility is clean and inviting, the staff is helpful and friendly. I picked out a meal in seconds .. Everything is delicious and healthy and despite the need to microwave it, it looks tastes and smells fresh. I felt good the whole day. I think it's probably the healthiest thing I've ever eaten. There is a nice selection and even for those on the keto diet but not me, that's for my girlfriend. Overall I think my favorite are the turkey meatloaf and the fit cheeseburger. This place is usually very empty during any time of the day. I walked in and purchased something to eat one day and noticed what it said at the bottom of the receipt "5 more visits for $9.99 off". Within a couple weeks I collected 6 receipts, and when I went back to this store the cashier told me that I actually need to buy something for $20 or more for each visit. The receipt is very misleading. According to them, it is posted somewhere within the store that you need to spend more money and other terms for this to actually work. WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. Always check your food if you order Fit Eats weekly deliveries. I received this on July 20th, after ordering meals for the entire week. I thought at the very least the food would be good for the entire week on account of, they let you order a weeks worth of meals. However, I found this piece of tofu on July 21st, only one day after receiving my weekly meals, and it had a best by date of only 4 days into the week. Please check your food from this company, I caught this as I was getting ready to feed it to my CHILD. I've eaten tofu my entire adult life so I'm very familiar with bad tofu, with people who can't cook tofu, or properly store tofu, and I've never seen it this bad before. It was disgusting. I have a ring doorbell, I retrieved my meals as soon as they got to my front door and they weren't even cold. There was no chill whatsoever to any of my meals. I'm so thankful I finally tried this place. It has been down the street from me for years but I never went in. I tried it about a month ago and really liked it. I was surprised with how big the portion was and how flavorful the food is. I've tried several different meals now and I've been truly impressed by each one. I do not personally like the steak because it's too tuff for my liking. I'm a bit skeptical about how many calories and sodium is in the food since you get a good sized portion and its flavored so well. But I've started a diet and am going to eat this twice a day, lunch and dinner, to stay under 1500 calories. Lets see if it works. The food is very flavorful, keeps me full, and prices are reasonable. I order my meals on a Wednesday and set a time for Friday to pick them up. This place (Fit Eats-16th St) is a zero rating. Purchased rotten food and left several messages only to have a rude, condescending manager (Melanie or melody from kiefer location) call back who was obviously upset that I didn't want to relay the same message about purchasing bad food to the cashier again after my 3rd attempt of leaving messages to reach a supervisor. The supervisor resorted to yelling and threatened to hang up because she refused to hear me out...great manager skills. Whatever happened to customer is always right, I wasn't the irate one. What a pathetic excuse of a supervisor. The food smelled horrible it wreaked, so disgusting. Food was rotten and so was management. Also, Please be aware of the 30% sale items got one that was horrible and obviously bad. Needless to say, me or my colleagues who work in the area, family and friends will NEVER go back. This is great! We've been ordering meals from this organization for several months now. It started out as Superfoods In Motion and has transformed into FitEats. While the first name was okay, the new one better explains what this service is about. Our first order was an experiment. Delivered food smacks of pizza or fast food so we were interested but hesitant. Now, several months later, we're enthusiastic about FitEats. Why? First of all, the food is excellent. It's always fresh and prepared carefully. Second, there's a lot of variety; no two weeks menus are the same, there are always interesting additions to the menu and many of the recipes are innovative. Third, each meal is complete, that is, there's a main dish, sides, and accoutrements to complement the main item. Fourth, it's all first quality food and nutritionally balanced. And, although meals arrive in well-sealed containers, it is attractively presented in much the same way you's expect at a brick-and-mortar restaurant. Pizza, this is not. Fast food, this is not. This a fine restaurant which specializes in healthy, tasty and nutritionally balanced meals that just happens to deliver meals to your door. My wife works and she's a fine, fine cook. I'm retired and I just learned how to put milk on corn flakes. Now, I do some of the cooking. How? FitEats is my ace-in-the-hole and I do the ordering. We've figured out that to prepare enough for the two of us to eat as well as we do eating "at" FitEats, we'd have a very much overstuffed pantry and a refrigerator with odds and ends of all of the specialized foods needed to prepare the variety we enjoy with FitEats. There are no pots, pans and cooking utensils to clean up and no dishwasher to run. There is no trash. From preparing to sit down to eat to the kitchen being clean again, takes maybe fifteen minutes more than just eating our delicious meals. And, we can each have a different meal, like enchiladas for one of us and roasted chicken and yams for the other. We use little water, have no waste and spend no time hauling groceries from the market and putting them away. So, not only is FitEats convenient, giving us less time in the kitchen and more time together, ordering our meals from FitEats is economical and friendly to the environment. And, we enjoy amazing variety and great food, too. Thank you, FitEats! These days about least half of our meals are delivered right to our doorstep each week. And, we're lovin' it. read more
