What a great facility with great staff. Always upbeat and friendly environment. I love doing my workouts here. There are many cardio machines to include stairmasters ,bicycle machines, and treadmills of course. Many classes available if that is your thing, multiple trainers and always eager to help clients. My personal opinion the gym is just right but as more members join it would be awesome if they can do another expansion, or maybe relocate to a bigger commercial space. Just some food for thought. You pretty much get what you pay for The gym is extremely inexpensive, 10 dollars a month. (Seriously how do they stay in buisness?) lets say they have 1000 members x 10 they gross $10,000 a month minus lease, labor cost, equipment maintenance, taxes and so on. Well thats not for me to judge. The gym is small, it lacks a locker room, exercise room, special classes but it has all the essentials. Plenty of cardio machines and free weights. Place gets packed around 6-8pm but not as chronically as the first day i went. I recommend this gym if you just want the bare minimum of cardio machines and free weights. As a former member of 24 I do miss the room used for classes. it provided extra room for stretching and space to do whatever exercise you wanted. you won't have that here. Again, just come here if you want the bare minimum. it will be a steal for you if that is the case. If you really value your gym experience you may want to stay at your 24, gold's, ballys wherever you may be. read more

good gym close to school and work

It's a good price! They have a day care that's only an extra $10 a month. Basically a win for moms who want to get in shape. I just joined recently and have only gone twice, so I haven't figured out a time to go that isn't crowded. The first day I went was a Saturday, it was about half full, not too bad. Was able to find a treadmill or elliptical with no problem. However I went today around 10am, that's when the worker told me it's mostly moms and not as busy. Boy if this is not as busy then I definitely don't want to go when it's "busy" there were literally no tread mills open and only 2 ellipticals open. I started out on an elliptical but it was so crowded the smell of body odor was making me nauseous so I decided to use a stationary bike since they had room to breathe. There were quite a bit of kids in the child care room with my baby but I think the girl was attentive. She seemed to take are of them, my baby started crying when she seen me come in and the girl picked her up right away to see what was wrong. So basically, it's cheap and good child care. Gilbert is an excellent trainer who is willing to teach you and help you understand how to get in fit. Also he is respectful, professional,responsible and knowledgeable and very very motivating...!!!! He teaches me how to do exercises and how to use equipment properly! Best deal in town! I like this place. I take it for what it is. I payed $10 a month to use the gym equipment and take classes. The best $10 a month I spend! The gym sometimes gets very full but, I still managed to use all the machines I wanted and get a great workout every time I went. The machines are fairly new and clean. The classes are my favorite. All Zumba + Yoga classes were so fun and def a great workout. Pay the extra $4 and stop being cheap people! it's worth it. Chelly is my favorite Zumba instructor take her class. I've been going to this gym since September 2013, and they just added group classes as of June 2014 (boot camp, Zumba, yoga, etc.). As other Yelpers have mentioned, you get what you pay for. It's a fairly small facility, with the most basic equipment you need. I pay $12/month, but that may have changed since they added group classes. I've never been here in the evenings, but I'm here in the mornings and afternoons, and every time I'm here, it isn't too busy. I'm able to do my workouts as planned, but once in a while I'll need to improvise. I'm in and out in an hour, longer on my off days. My only caveats are that it's a bit of a drive, and I feel the staff aren't very welcoming. Even a simple "Hello!" or "Hi!" or "Good morning/afternoon/evening!" will suffice. If I could count all the times I've been greeted here, I can only count about 5. Otherwise, I like this place as long as I can get my workout done. read more

Very small gym, always packed and busy sometimes theirs a line when wanting to use the treadmill and you have to beat someone to a machine and keep starting at them to see if they finish kind of hard to work out and keep a eye on the next machine. The air quality is horrible smells like sweat all the time and the same air is just being circulated and always feeling hot inside. The only time I see the machines being cleaned are closer to closing time by the cleaning people but the people working behind the counter never move from that spot and clean like the used to. read more

I notes in many other reviews, I visit Oxnard / Ventura often for work. I have a membership in San Clemente at the local fitness 19 there...tonight I went in to break down or make sure some of the holiday flabbi-ness doesn't stay attached for too long. Rodney was the lead on duty and was immensely helpful, he showed me around the facility...and I must admit, I should move up here just because of how nice this location is compatible to mine back home...super nice here! Staff was incredibly friendly and they have extra group classes at night that the members love cuz they were packed with people and almost all of em left the class with a smile... Hooray Zumba! I had a really great workout tonight, can't wait to get back tomorrow! read more

These guys just like stealing peoples money. I purchased a non-contract membership from these guys and unfortunately Covid happened. I only had the chance to use the gym a couple of times. I was thinking they would be accommodating to the situation like most businesses have been. These guys charge me an annual fee like I have been with them for a year. These guys told me I should have contacted them and then they wouldn't have charged me. I tried to contact them multiple times but how could I if all gyms are closed due to covid? The customer service number they provided was awful and they take months to respond to an email. Never coming back to this mediocre gym. I've been a member of this gym for easily 5yrs if not more. It has slowly deteriorated and become less and less enjoyable to have a decent workout. From broken equipment to disgusting restrooms I mean where do I start!! This gym is small enough but when trainers take up common walkways to do personal training and everyone is made to walk around I think is unprofessional.. There's trx straps and a water bag for boxing but good look trying to use any of these things as there is nothing sectioning off these pieces of equipment so instead people and or trainers use this area to stretch or do training when there not even using the straps or bag. I've been to many gyms in my life and I've never been to a gym so unsanitary an unorganized. Kids are allowed to run around and play on machines , the mats smell of sweat uggh I can go on and on.. make a designated area for stretching, mark off the area around the bag and trx straps so that they can be used appropriately, and speak to your trainers about being considerate of others around them when training. Yes, you read that right. FIVE STARS! I often use this gym when I visit my parents in Oxnard and always have a great experience. The staff is very friendly and informative. I tell them I only need to use it for a day or I am only in town for a week and they give me great deals. The gym is small, but has everything you need. I often use their activity room to do some circuit training. Finally, you can't beat the price, I don't think you can find a more affordable gym in town. read more

Saddened....when I was picking up my daughter from the childcare I overheard a worker tell a young mom who was sitting on the corner couch in there that she couldn't be there. Not knowing why, and curious because she just seemed to be just sitting in there I found out she was actually nursing her baby. How dare you tell someone (who isn't even obvious) that they can't feed their baby...really!!!!!!! I've been a member for a few months now, it's a really good price & it has all the machines I need. I also train with this awesome trainer Named Gilbert Perez, I've had multiple sessions with him, he always makes sure I understand the workouts & shows me how to properly hold my form. He also writes down every workout we do & helps with my diet, which really comes in handy when I workout on my own. I really enjoy his workouts they leave me feeling so sore the next day & I can see results. I would highly recommend training with him ! read more

I am not a very picky guy but when I told the manager that the mats are very dirty and smell bad He told me he would get me some "wipes" and I could clean them myself! Maybe I could just come in after hours and help him with the book work and maybe get some extra exercise in cleaning the windows for him too? In other words, no ...... I'd been going to this gym for about 5-6 years and i've moved around to other gyms and i always come back. I've had my ups and downs with my account but Chris has worked it out. I love the training sessions with Victor, he helps me reach my goals and gives me meal plans. He works with my schedule and i've seen great results. 24hr fitness at the collection tried charging me a lot and didn't even provide a sample of how training session would be. Victor is great and i recommend him as trainer. My toddler and infant enjoy the day care and its not pricey like other gyms. The rest of the staff are very nice and friendly. The gym can get packed some days but on weekends is perfect. read more

It was my first time visiting this gym today and I really enjoyed my workout. They have a variety of equipment and the staff is very friendly. Clean bathrooms in a facility are very important to me because, well let's face it, no one likes using a dirty bathroom and I'm happy to say the bathrooms here are clean and fully stocked. One of the things I liked the most was the music playing in the background, it was upbeat and different tracks were playing the entire time; sometimes I wouldn't put my headphones in because their music was better than mine! The manager, Chris was very responsive and quick to fix an issue I was having with the pull up bar. He was able to fix it quickly and I was working out again in no time. Worse gym I've ever set foot into. Made apt to go in & get info about gym & what it offers & guy Mark didn't give tour, as other gyms do he just signed me up. I worked out that day & called right away (same day) to cancel. He gave me run around & had a excuse for everything. Was not professional nor considerate. Wouldn't recommend to any of my friends. Place is small, stuffy & stinks. Doesn't even deserve one star. Had to wait 5-10 minutes to use every machine. No locker privacy. all coed. No showers, no classes, nor manager on site. I recently became a member with this gym because my friend wanted to take training with Victor let me start by saying he is an amazing trainer he also teaches a class of Bootcamp, honestly this is the only good thing about this gym so I'd rank him a 5 STAR if I could!!! He should go work else where!!!! The customer service sucks, the gym smells, there's never Machines to work out, I could keep going but I won't. What should one expect when they charge you only $15 for your membership. Given that I got mine for $10 so what the heck I signed up. My problem with this gym besides the above is I lost my debit card, I had been in several of times and not once did anyone bring to my attention that my account was due 4 days! I received an email yesterday stating I need to make my payment I was like okay, I walked in with my debit card to update my info the girl at the front was going to start writing my info down, I'm like NO don't do that swipe my card it's illegal for u to have my info laying around for anyone to see it!!! Then Miguel steps in and says he'd help me out - okay then he takes care of updating my card and taking payment for $25, because my account is late! What seriously because of 4 days? Like whatever it's $15!!! My disappointment is he offer to wave the fee after I said I'm cancelling my membership like $15 is gonna keep me at a run down horrible gym, no thank u!!! All in I'm about the principal of the matter " send me an email stating I need to make a payment to avoid a late when in the system, I already have a late fee; worse of the matter I never received any other email advising my account was pass due." Like okay I know it's my responsibility to know when my payment is due but I just signed up a month ago and now I'm cancelling!! Horrible customer service. Very clean, great equipment, can plug in your headphones and watch the flstscreen t.v.s on the treadmills or elipticals, do your workout and take off. Its good gym for the price. New equipment, they have a studio for classes and you can work out there by your self when classes are not being held. I really like that they have TRX equipment in the studio! If you are looking to go to a place that you don't have to spend a lot of money but you may have to deal with it being really busy this is the place for you. read more

I joined because I needed a childcare while working out. The workers were being neglectful and not paying attention to the children. My infant came out with scratches on his eye from a toddler. The gym equipment is crowded. And the equipment is not taken care of properly. They have hidden fees, too. Ask before you sign up. read more

Fitness 19 in Oxnard still the same. Equipments nice and new but one thing that they are lucking of is cleanliness. It's dangerous for everybody to walk around trying to dodge the equipment / plates that is on the floor. It's very very messy!!! For what ever reason some members they don't put their wts away. I seen it so many times. They will lift heavy wts but after that they cannot put it away ( good example is the leg press ) and some one has to do all the cleaning for them because a member wants to use that machine and they cannot push all that wt. have some consideration for the other members. It's very tiring to clean up some ones mess all the time. I hope that fitness 19 managers will push the rules and regulations of cleanliness. read more

WOW for the price what can you expect. Nut shell, way too crowded, members to machine equipment ratio like 3 to 1. Why to many kids, and people that don't know what they are doing including the STAFF. Just a really bad experice for price its what you get. Machine weights good but have to wait to use them. Treadmills good but once again have to wait to use them. Free weights feel cheap like from china. A kid named Oscar helped me and copped an attitude with me kinda didn't want to give a 3 day pass WTF. Bottom line way to over crowded peek hours are just terrible, too many kids playing on machines not working out, this place is really small, and the staff walks around with a chip on there shoulders. I used to go to this gym a lot back when Cris was still the club manager. After he was replaced, everything began downhill. The activity room is being "renovated" for almost 3 months already and therefore, it gets 3x packed during the day. The new club manager doesn't know how to run a business and everyone can see it. Who puts a air freshener plugged in the wall? Are you saying that the gym smell? Well obviously, gym is supposed to smell like gym it's not suppose to smell like flowers. This gym is only gonna get worst and worst if the club manager is not replace ASAP. read more
