You get what you pay for. The gym isn't the biggest, but it is packed wall-to-wall with new equpiment and cardio. They don't have a lot of the extras like showers and a pool, which is okay for me, because if I dont use them, I dont want to pay for them. I think it gets busy in the evenings, but I work out in the morning and afternoon and it's always pretty quiet and I can do anything I want. If you live in the area it's perfect, a gym membership between 9-15 bucks a month is just crazy! The staff was nice to me when I signed up. They don't sell contracts, so the month to month thing is pretty chill and no pressure. It is a young staff, but from what I can tell, they will bend over backwards to make sure you can get a membership if fitness truly is your goal.(I don't know if they do it for all the members, but I got a free hour with a trainer too, and he was a big help) Nice staff, equipment and good price. It just comes down to having to drive across town to sign a contract and pay an inflated monthly rate or paying 2-3 times less for an affordable gym membership at Fitness 19 in your own backyard. Excellent experience! I've been a member of a few gyms(LA Fitness, Worlds, 24, And Edge Fitness) and Fitness 19 on rose is my favorite by far! I had the opportunity to train with the top certified trainer GILBERT PEREZ, which was completely complimentary with my membership, and he walked me through a detailed overview of where I'm at with a free BF test and took the time to really go over what my goals are he was personable, made me feel very comfortable and still extremely professional. He really showed me the staff there is genuine and really care to help. However, when I first joined I was well aware of reviews of over crowding and wasn't excited about that. Although, Gilbert also took the time to show me everything in the gym I can use for my workouts and I discovered the amazing variety of equipment which completely eliminated the issue of feeling like you're "waiting for a machine". read more

I've literally been at every gym in Oxnard & Camarillo.. FITNESS 19 In Oxnard has been the best hands down!!! The Staff is really friendly and makes you feel welcome every single time you come in! They also pump you even more for your workout! I had the chance to get a lot of help from Frank (trainer) he showed me the importance of setting up my workouts and in a timely manage matter, and on how much I should be consuming in a day (Protein, Carbs , Fats) Frank is a great trainer and I highly recommend going to him weather your a "beginner" he'll show you what's the best things to do to start off with , And for the "advance" He'll definitely be able to help step up your training to the next level as he did with me!!! And as for the "Elderly" he will definitely get you back in the in the groove and keeping that body in motion! read more

I typically don't take the time to write a review for anything on yelp but I am very frustrated with this gym. The gym is not well maintained and does the gym even have a manager? The class times don't workout for most working clients, there isn't many options when it comes to classes. The gym is understaffed and with everybody being new they cant handle inquiries efficiently. The times that the manager peeks her head from her office she looks overwhelmed and irritated. The only time I have seen her smile is when her friends approach her which is so unprofessional because with regular clients she always looks upset. I will not recommend this gym to my friends and family. read more

Its saddens me to write this review but with my recent experience at the gym its a must. The gym is dirty, there is no customer service, no bootcamp classes because their are no trainers. The new manager has an attitude and never is there. The gym honestly is not the same and its in shambles. Where is Deyma, where is Frank, Alejandro, Christina, and all those great trainers that were always encouraging, that took their time to teach the right way and support everybody in their fitness journey. Fitness 19 in Oxnard has been an awesome gym experience! The manager Bryan and his entire team are always super helpful, professional, and friendly. You can tell they genuinely care about keeping the place running smoothly and making sure members are taken care of. The gym is always clean and well-maintained, which I really appreciate. Even though it can get pretty busy at times, it's still one of the best gyms in the area with good equipment and an overall positive atmosphere. I had a horrible experience today. Samantha trainer at fitness 19 Oxnard would not give me enough space to finish pull downs even when I asked her to please give me space. She then starts an argument and I dont engage and go report her to the manager. Her unprofessional should be deemed for firing her. She consistently is a problem around the gym giving attitude to members as well as staff. I am writing this in hopes upper management deals with this matter. read more

This gym is probably one of the most cleanest ones i've been to. I've had my fair share of gyms, and with covid and all you can tell that all these other gyms don't really care. Not fitness 19! You can really tell the manger is always on top of things. I always see staff wiping the machines down, making sure members are wearing their masks properly, and they're always cleaning the bathrooms as well which is nice. I am so impressed with the positive changes that have taken place at the gym since new management took over. The gym is now more organized and clean, you don't see wipes all over the floor, trash overflowing, and don't have weird bathroom smells like before. Best gym I've ever been to. Friendly staff, extremely helpful. Gym is small but we'll equipped. Peter the manager is awesome, he always goes the extra mile.
