When I first came here with my boyfriend to sign up for a membership I immediately told him upon entering "things felt off in here and I don't care for this place". He pursued on anyways; as we approached the front desk the girl at the counter was very curt and rude, she was short with us in filling out documentation to use our free pass , we were told that we had to sign up and sign a document that said they're not liable for any injuries we got here, and still had to sign up for a gym membership to use the equipment. A different lady came to assist us after the paperwork and she was very kind however their prices were ridiculous and I was beginning to feel that we were being stereotyped as she kept repeating that the package we were getting didn't allow access to the kids room they provided even though we had clearly communicated with her that neither myself or my boyfriend have any children. We were told after the sign up for the membership and the deposit that we had to put down on the membership that same day, that we would both have to come in for an assessment to determine where we are fitness wise and so that they could help us attain our goals. To me this was ridiculous that we would both have to be assessed when I can only come to the gym as my boyfriends guest ! Moving forward, I had to work and wasn't feeling well and told my boyfriend I won't be attending this assessment. He went and things apparently went well so the following week I went to the gym with him. He sought out one of the personal trainers whose name I cannot recall but I remember his face well, and asked him what he needed to do with getting his weight down and what exercises would be good. From my standpoint it appeared that this particular personal trainer had no real interest in helping either of us, he gave a set of exercises to do and selected some weights for us and went back to their kiosk and continued to chat it up with his fellow coworkers and a few other gym members that were apparently some hardcore gym gurus. He didn't once come to check on us or even bother to look our way to see if we were performing the exercises correctly thus giving me the impression he just wanted us out of his hair. Another trainer whom I didn't see on our tour of the facility came over to review us and assist my boyfriend in performing the exercises correctly as he was in fact doing them wrong and was going to cause himself some serious knee injuries. While I greatly appreciate this particular trainer for being concerned and doing his job, I can honestly say I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. Yes, it's super cheap, but you get what you pay for. The class schedule is convenient only if you don't work between the hours of 8 and 6, the size and amenities are laughable in comparison to other gyms in the area, and the personal trainers are a JOKE! This place is usually dirty, and they offer zero security. Oh, you noticed a juiced up ex convict following you to your car? Too bad!! And, if you're unhappy with your membership, GOOD LUCK. This place is terrible and it starts with the staff. I stopped by Gold's on my way home from work yesterday after printing out a 7 day free pass online. I currently workout 5-6 days a week using the gym at my apartments, but there are certain things they just don't have, so I thought I would see about getting a cheap gym membership to use on the days I want more of a variety in my workout. We walked in and I showed the pass to the girl working the counter. She took it to someone in the back and he came out and shook our hands and walked us back to a desk.........THIS guy.....Should NOT be in sales. Or working at a gym, for that matter. He was awkward, kept asking me the SAME questions which really irritated me because I do not like repeating myself. Not only that, but it made me feel like he wasn't listening to one word I had to say. He assumed that I wouldn't be interested in free weights and I did not appreciate that at ALL. Whaaaa? Why? Because i'm a girl? Look, i'm no body builder, but I am in good shape. I have obvious muscle definition. How do you think I got these guns, dude? By riding the elliptical for an hour a day? ;) He gave us a tour and talked to my bf the entire time. Never once looked at me, talked to me or asked if I had any questions. He was only interested in talking to the man. I mean, what does a girl know about fitness anyway, right? Psh. Forgive me for being frank, but who wants a person who is.....out of shape (to put it nicely) selling them a gym membership or trying to talk to them about fitness? He completely discounted anything I had to say and insulted our intelligence when it came to what we did and did not know about fitness. So after about a half hour of talking to this guy (I just want to freaking work OUT, maaan!) he asks us for our I.D's. I gave him my passport and he wanted my driver's license instead. Wait, what? Am I gonna be driving here at Gold's Gym? Do I need a Valid Driver's License to run on a treadmill? Why won't a government issued passport suffice? He said he had to go ask his manager if it was acceptable. Nonsense. I said never mind, grabbed my passport and left. My blood pressure was through the roof at that point and all I wanted to do was sweat!! Here are a few tips, Gold's Gym Management: Cut down on your spiel time. Make sure your staff can talk to people like they're old friends instead of sounding like they're trying to sell something. This is not something that can be trained, you either have it or you don't. That guy, did NOT have it. Perhaps introduce yourself, ask if they have any specific questions and let the damn people work OUT and THEN talk to them about signing up! I was in FULL gym gear. Ready. Don't you know that people are happier after they've had a sweat sesh? And, lastly, I do not want someone who looks like they haven't worked out since high school trying to educate me on fitness. Would you hire a fat personal trainer? An arm less quarterback? A midget center in the NBA? I think not. To play the part you've gotta look the part. At the end of the day, I left Gold's Gym and went to Lifetime where I now happily have a membership. Professional, courteous and witty staff who are all healthy looking and dressed to impress. I don't care how cheap Gold's Gym claims to be. You get what you pay for and I'd rather gouge out my left eye with a spork then sign a TWO YEAR MINIMUM contract at this shit hole. I've been a member of 24 hour fitness and Lifetime fitness. I was excited that humble was getting a Gold's Gym. I Have been at Gold's since they opened there doors about 7 months ago. This gym is the worst gym I have ever been to. For a guy trying to lift this gym sucks, Take your business else where. Just this past week I was working out and one of the staff members was working out beside me and he pretty much laughed at me and told me "I can lift double what you lift". believe me I'm no chump. I've been lifting for years. It really rubbed me the wrong way that a guy that gets paid to work there and help others was walking around making fun of people. The same guy yesterday was on 3 different machines sweating all over the equipment and when he was done he never came back to wipe his sweat off. Nasty Nasty Nasty. Just a few words on their contracts - If you ever move away from the area stipulated (25+ mi. away) expect at least 2-3 months of back and forth arguing to cancel. Don't waste your time...your money...your patience. After changing address to Pasadena (yes Pasadena) which is 26 miles away they denied the contract cancellation saying it was only 23 miles away. How is it 23 miles away? By driving the beltway? Nooo...by driving city streets for 23 miles and taking at least 45 minutes without traffic which never happens in Houston. First of let me say that my wife and I are active duty military. I been in for 10 years and she been in for 7. This has been the worst experience ever with a gym. While I was in the middle of moving we stayed in Houston with family for 30 days. I knew there was a golds gym in Killeen tx because I used to be a member. So we decided to join the golds gym in Humbe tx. And the guy that sold us the membership told us we could use it anywhere around the world. We told him that we would use the one in Killeen TX during the week and the one in Humber tx on the weekend . We even bought personal training and they told us we could use it anywhere. So after we reported to Fort hood we walked into the gym and found out that the gym in Humble lied to our face over and over agin. So I called the gym and asked to talk to the GM. It took me three days to get him to get on the phone , they kept blowing me off because he already knee the issue because the gym in Killeen called and tried to fix it but couldn't because turned out they were a franchise owner and not corporate. The GM told me he would fix it and he never called me back. He waited till the 30 day period was over and then said oh we can't do anything now. Awful, Awful Gym. Gold's Gym should be ashamed to have these people representing them. I guess that's what you get when you allow other people to use your name through franchising. Most of the equipment is ok and there personal trainers are really good, but if you ever move too far away to go to the gym, it is hard to end the contract. They say all you have to do is show proof you moved to cancel, but when you send proof to them and to there billing company, they pretend they lost it and continue to try and bill you. They then pester and harass you, even having a legal department calling you, to try and get you to pay, even though you sent them information asking to cancel and showing you moved away, as they asked you to. STAY AWAY!!! All seems good until they keep trying to bill you and get you to pay for a service that you don't even use. read more

I absolutely Gold's gym Park Lakes! I have been going for like three years. The Zumba classes at Gold's gym are my favorite! I go every chance I get! Pec deck is CONSTANTLY broken and takes forever to repair. Among other things, there is an increasing amount of machines out of order. Obviously membership is going up with the gym getting much more and more crowded but there seems to be a lack of maintenance and upkeep. Get it together management. I was excited they opened a golds in my neighborhood but after dealing with the unknowledgeable, confusing sales man they had there I decided to go to stick with lifetime fitness. It looks like a really nice gym with a lot of amenities but the staff can use some training. No one seemed to know what they were doing and to boot the salesman that was "helping me" with my options walked me out and lit up a cigarette right outside the gym. What a way to attract potential clients. I think it has a lot of potential but someone needs to supervise. read more

5 stars based on accommodations. Gf and myself landed hours before the rest of the family and wanted to get a workout in so we came here. We needed a gym with showers and that was willing to watch our bags for us. I wish I remembered the front desk employees name but I do not, either way he was very polite and super helpful. Pointed out where everything was in the gym and said we could try out any of the classes they had going on. Biggest part was being able to leave all our bags (5) behind the desk for safe keeping while we lifted. The gym itself was crowded and a little dirty, people don't have pride in the gym and therefore don't clean up after themselves. For me that's more on the patrons then the employees. Where do I begin? As I am writing this it is May 29th at 10:21 a.m. the doors are not open even though the hours specified that they open at 10 a.m. Now moments later, abt 10 min, a man in plain gym clothes comes to open the door. He wasnt wearing a uniform and didn't even address anyone as he opened the door. This gym is not limited to these kind of antics. Lets talk about the rest of the gym. Equipment: Retail grade equipment that is not made for commercial use. Consistently broken machines and the repair lag time is calculated in weeks. It is not uncommon to see equipment inoperable for a month or longer. Trainers: Oh hell no. A small handful of the trainers are capable, a very small handful. Most are extremely inexperienced and just don't care. I see gym newbies just beginning their fitness journey get matched up with novice level trainers and end up doing the most ridiculous exercises. On top of that the trainers are often checking their phones during training sessions and even dancing in front of client while on the clock. At $60 an hour I dont care about watching your c-walking. *if you are lookibg for personal training, please be sure to ask questions and compare their client results with a variety of others. Most rude gym I ever been at . Came in with my friend with the free day pass. And a Hispanic young lady in the front desk made my friend go outside and get her ID (knowing very well she wasn't gonna let her in) her excuse not to let her in was because it was after 8. After trying to figure out our options and black older lady told us to move out the way with a big attitude saying there was people coming in. I don't understand why they give us a pass and then don't tell us what restrictions we have. Worst experience and with ugly customer service just like themselves. On top of that they want to charge a fee for a pass ? What's the point of a pass if there going to charge for it ? She motivates me to do better, and keeps me on track for my goal! She never pushes me past my limit that could cause harm, but she still pushes my limit so that I can see my potential. I drove to the Kingwood location to sign up today. I signed up for a year membership, the reason I had to drive to the Kingwood location instead of humble (which is far closer) is because the front desk associate Christine. I had came in Sunday to check out the gym as I am new to the area. I was charged $21 for a day pass and let her know I'd be back this week to sign up so my girlfriend can see the gym, and would like to join with me. My girlfriend found a free 7 day pass and signed us both up. I was denied a free pass because I had already been to the gym... which was the one time she charged me $21. I didn't even want a refund I just wanted to workout with my girlfriend, since she was getting in for free, I wanted to try out the gym and sign us up afterward. So instead of offering me a workout that she made me pay $20 for the previous day, she still said I can't come in without buying a day pass. A modern day gym gate keeper. The situation was so ridiculous I called the kingwood location to see if I could find someone level headed. Thank god for MICHELLE. She would be a great employee to have coach your front desk associates. I worked out at her Kingwood location, and immediately bought a gold membership (like I told Christine I was going to do the previous day). Christine wasted $21 of my money, was rude, and had this condescending assumption I was trying to workout for free or get one over on her... so she wants to charge me $42 before I even sign up for anything? I'm glad level heads prevailed and Michelle helped me out. For the future I guess I'll just have to workout in humble but any transactions going forward will be made in the Kingwood gym. read more

This gym sucks!!! Their managers suck, their customer service is horrible!!! I signed up and went every day for an entire month and NOBODY gave me a tag! Everytime I would go in the morning there was either nobody at the front desk or they were on the floor sleeping behind the counter. I finally decided to cancel, sent he certified notice and they told me I needed to pay $100,....lol FUCK no I'm not going to pay an additional $100 for sucky service! and months later I get a bill for $1,010.39!!! LMFAO are you people fucking serious! There is not enough equipment that allows you to be more versatile. The fitness rooms that are not being occupied are always locked. The seats on most of the machines are so ragged and torn. And their tanning policy, Price, etc is not the same across the board. A guest should have access to all amenities before putting any money down. This location has serious problems with ABC financial. They repeatedly charge cancelled cards and then they expect me to pay hundreds of dollars to fix their mistake. The last time they did this I asked them to zero out my account and to stop charging old cards. They did nothing to fix their mistake and now I've discovered my account is in collections! I just moved to the humble area and decided to join this gym. I work out with my boyfriend 3 days a week and the manager called him to inform him that we can't work out together. Since he gives me pointer and help me use the equipment they assumed that he is training me and that training people at their gym is prohibited because they have personal trainers that can train you for a fee. I feel that I have a right to workout with my boyfriend without being harassed. They even threating to cancel his membership which he has been a member for over 6 years. He always explains things very well and me as a first timer at the gym works wonderful. I pay 40 dollars a month for a golds membership in a different town and just 2 months ago was able to use a 14 day visitors pass to the gym here in town, because I visit here often. Now, the guy at the front desk told me that they have a new system and wouldn't let me in. This gym is so disorganized and needs to have a constant policy that doesn't change. read more

SO, I am a traitor. I got a membership at this gym in addition to another one that I have. The good thing is, this gym is fairly new and they have DIRT CHEAP specials for monthly dues. This place isn't super fancy, but its a good enough place to just go in and get a good workout. As of early April, not everything was complete. I think they are building a juice/smoothie bar. There is also a tanning center inside. I don't know much about the tanning but when I asked about price, the price I was told was pretty reasonable. The place is SUPER clean and they have workers staying on top of cleaning equipment. I wish there was an area to go lay and do sit ups, or stability ball stuff, but the gym is just kind of small. I really enjoyed a body pump class that I took, the instructor was great. I love going to a class with an energetic and knowledgeable instructor. This won't be my regular gym, but its a great place to keep in my back pocket when I'm out in that neck of the woods. read more

If you sign up for personal training and move to another country they expect you to fly in for fitness training to complete your sessions and THEY KEEP YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. Highly disappointed!
