    Garlic naan
    Rashmi V.

Sorry not sorry I really wanted to like this place but honestly this place is a bit overhyped. The ambiance is beautiful, great décor, trendy vibe, and a nice Santa Monica atmosphere so it's definitely a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. The samosa chaat was probably one of the worst I've had. It lacked balance and flavor, and nothing about it felt fresh or authentic. The paneer tikka was also pretty underwhelming and bland, you really needed the chutney to give it any kind of taste. Even the naan was just okay, nothing special for a restaurant at this price point. Service was decent but not memorable. The staff was polite, yet things felt a little slow and not very attentive, especially considering the restaurant wasn't that busy when we went on a Sunday. Overall, Fitoor is a nice spot if you're going mainly for the vibe or drinks, but for the food alone, I wouldn't rush back. I was hoping for bold, flavorful Indian dishes, and it just didn't deliver. Pretty bummed because I came here for my bday dinner with one of my friends and we both had a letdown.

Fitoor truly lives up to its name. From the moment you walk in, the upscale décor sets the mood, and the menu delivers just as strongly. Each dish is packed with depth, bold spices, and beautiful presentation without losing authenticity. Portions are satisfying, cocktails are creative, and the overall experience feels refined yet comforting. Definitely one of the standout Indian restaurants in Santa Monica. Amazing experience!!

Worth the Hype? Fitoor, Santa Monica Short answer: Yes -- if you love modern Indian food with vibes. Fitoor isn't your everyday Indian restaurant -- it's elevated, stylish, and meant for nights when you want great food and an atmosphere. The Food Bold, well-layered flavors Creative twists without losing the soul of Indian cuisine Standouts across appetizers, mains, and dessert The biryani actually nails the meat-to-rice ratio (rare win ) What We Loved Most * Dahi Kachori on crispy okra -- chaotic but delicious * Sweet chilli broccoli -- don't skip this * Butter chicken & cheese kulcha -- indulgent and unforgettable * Lamb shank -- tender, flavour-packed, 10/10 * Paan ice cream -- refreshing and unique The staff provided some excellent recommendations!!! The Vibe Lively, trendy, celebration-ready Perfect for date nights, anniversaries & special occasions

This is the best "fancy" Indian restaurant in LA. The cocktails and mocktails are amazing. Plating is creative and appealing. My favorite dishes are the Dahi Kachori, Truffle Mushroom Kulcha, and the chicken Biryani. The best dessert is the chocolate nemesis and I love the jaggery ice cream. The rest of the desserts are way too sweet and not as good as their traditional versions. The restaurant interior is designed beautifully and great for a romantic date or groups. The service is kind of meh and they are stingy with extra chutney and will charge you, but the food here makes up for it. I've been here 3 times!

Ambience is nice, service is slow. Appetizers are good. Don't waste your money on the burrata chat. Main entrees are not good. They over charge you, always check your bill carefully. They get the quality of waters/ beverages wrong. Also while paying the waiters Input their own tip amount as if no one would notice.

Came on a Wednesday night without reservations. The restaurant was packed but they did have seats in their outdoor heated patio. Lamb Shank Rogan Josh - The lamb fell off the bone and was tender. The sauce had great flavor but was really oily. Pulled Butter Chicken Kulcha - Overall this was good but the bread was too oily. I also thought the flavor would be more pronounced but the butter chicken was super mild. Even a little salt would've helped. Sweet Chili Broccoli - The best item we got. The broccoli was drenched in a sweet chili sauce that you forgot you were eating broccoli. We were looking for a fresh veg - which this was not - but still really enjoyed this dish. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful going through the menu. He checked in on us serval times. Not sure if I'd come back. The food was just on the edge of being great but kept falling short

Loved the ambiance with live music & service. Our server was great & everything was fast. Loved everything we had ordered. We got paneer lababdar, roti, corn bites & gulab jamun crème brûlée which was literally the best thing I've ever eaten. Drinks were meh but Definitely will come back for other items.

This was a nice fancy place to come out to dinner for elevated Indian food. I ordered the Cordelia drink that was nice and refreshing. We ordered family style so we got to try everything. Portion sizes were a bit on the small side. So make sure you order enough. The curry leaf prawns, coastal flame scallops and eggplant kulcha was very good! The pulled butter chicken kulcha & Kerala beef pepper fry were decent. The favorites were probably the lamb shank Rogan Josh & the alleppey prawn & curry fish. It was all very fragrant, flavorful and delicious. The ambience of the restaurant feels like a cocktail bar with upscale food. This would be a neat place to visit just for a drink by the bar. This restaurant also accommodates pets as I had a dog there in the outdoor patio. The staff was very attentive and nice.

I came here with friends on a Thursday evening, and we had made reservations ahead of time. Parking is mostly street or meters, but there is also a parking structure nearby for about $26. The restaurant is beautiful inside !Elegant, classy, and decorated with lovely green accents. There's also a gorgeous outdoor seating area with twinkling lights. We were seated quickly, and the staff was friendly, patient, and helpful with menu questions and recommendations. I'm Indian and love Indian food, so I was excited to try a place that puts a creative twist on traditional dishes. We were very hungry, so we ordered a lot! Guava Masala Spritz- super fruity guava flavor with seltzer, and the masala rim was a fun touch. Dahi Kachori-So good !!Crunchy, spicy, tangy. The foam didn't add much, but the flavors were amazing. THIS made me miss India and eating fresh kachoris there everyday. 10/10, Must order. Palak Patta & Okra Chaat-This dish is a full experience. The server brings a cart and builds it in front of you with sauces, spinach pakora, okra, and liquid nitrogen yogurt. The flavors were incredible, crunchy, tangy, spicy, and sweet all at once. 11/10. Butter Chicken Kulcha-The kulcha was puffy and delicious, but the butter chicken filling didn't have strong flavor for me. 4/10. Kasundi Paneer Tikka-These were seared squares of paneer topped with chutney. The inside was plain and the outside flavor didn't carry through. It reminded me of a soft mozzarella stick without crunch. I would skip this. 2/10. ~Large Plates~ Lamb Shank Rogan Josh-Amazing!!!reminded me of nihari. The meat was incredibly soft and fell right off the bone. 8/10 Allepey Prawn & Fish Curry-I don't usually choose fish curries, but I wanted to try something new so we went for it. We were not disappointed. The fish and prawn were soft, and the curry had a coconut‑tangy flavor that reminded me a little of Thai curry. 7/10. We ordered butter naan and garlic butter naan to go with both curries Cassata Kulfi -Heart‑shaped and layered with rose and saffron flavors, topped with vermicelli. All the flavors together were delicious . It reminded me a bit of falooda. 9/10. Gulab Jamun Crème Brûlée-Creamy, milky, and delicious. The gulab jamun added the perfect chewy, rose‑flavored bite. 9/10. Royal Paan Tea Tea without milk, with a strong paan flavor. Great for digestion. I'm not a big tea person, but tea lovers would enjoy it. Kashmiri Nargis Tea Also without milk, floral and pleasant. I highly recommend visiting Fitoor if you want a fun and flavorful food experience that hits every taste bud. It was great coming with a group of four because we got to try so many dishes, and I suggest doing the same if you can. The prices match the quality of the food, the creativity, and the excellent service.

I loved my dining experience at Fitoor! We went walking on Oceanside near Santa Monica and were looking for a place to get lunch, and Fitoor popped up on the list! The ambiance of this place was great and probably one of the nicest of Indian Restaurants that I have been to in Los Angeles and they had both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a brunch special and also you can choose from their main menu as well. We started with the Dahi Kachuri and wow, this was such a fun take on a classic Indian snack dish. I was so impressed by their foam yogurt presentation and the Kachuri also tasted great! We also got the tofu tosadas ~ the tofu was made really well and I loved all of the garnished and the presentation. For our main meal, we had the Jackfruit Chestnut Korma and the Traditional Chicken Sheekh Masala with Garlic Naan. The presentation of the Jackfruit was so fun where they come and poor the curry in front of you and I loved the flavor of the chicken. Overall, I thought they did an outstanding job on creating a modern take on Indian dishes with their own twist and I enjoyed my meal here!

Lovely, varied, Happy Hour menu, a neighborhood gem in an area often overlooked by locals. Very friendly service. We only sampled a few dishes and they were delicious, I already can't wait to go back to try the full menu and would also go back for the discounted happy hour menu which is currently offered M-F 3-5. The Sweet Chili Broccoli is a stand out, Open Fire Chicken Kebab is tender and has layers of flavor.

Took my very picky eater Indian friend here for her birthday, and hallelujah, she loved it! We asked for a table with an ocean view and got to soak in some sun and reflection of the waves in the distance. Service does need some improvement but the food made up for it. The dishes look gorgeous. Lots of thought and details in presentation. Food was delicious! Very flavorful and unique; rich layers of flavors but not heavy. The restaurant is beautiful. Pricey? A bit. But it's Santa Monica and we felt it was totally worth it. I'm going back. Hopefully soon. Want to try more of the menu.

Came to Fitoor to celebrate a special occassion dinner. I've been so excited to come here as I love Indian food and we're severely lacking on the Westside. This restaurant is stunning and massive - I can definitely see it accomodating large groups. They serve upscale, fusion Indian food! Everything we ordered was fantastic but standsouts were the kulcha, risotto, and the fish currry. I hope to be back to try more!! The service though was absolutely wonderful. They answered all our questions and brought everything speedy and really made sure we had a wonderful and memorable first visit. There also were dancers around the restaurant which were really neat to see and definitely adds to this being a spot for a special occassion!

    Where is parking.?

Meter parking in front of the restaurant

    Is there parking?

They have valet parking Fri, Sat, and Sunday, I believe. On other days, you'll have to find street parking, $2.50 per hour. There is a nearby parking lot, but is quite expensive.

It was initially confusing when we arrived, because there was no host on shift, and we had to ask the barista inside where we should be going. After taking a peek in the actual downstairs basement tavern, we opted to sit outside under the eclectic mix of chandeliers, heat lamps, and lightbulbs, instead of the empty smoky basement. There was a live pianist playing in the front lawn, which was amazing and pretty much made the night. I don't know if it's a regular thing, but if it is, I'd definitely come back just for that. Probably since it was a weekday night, the place was pretty deserted, but we didn't mind - it was like a private show with plenty of seating options. The happy hour food was awesome. We got a bunch of appetizers to share, and there was plenty of food. Our favorite was probably the grilled octopus and calamari, and the brussel sprouts were amazing. The fish tacos and ceviche were not bad, but tasted basically the same. Our server was really sweet. In the future, I would come in a group of three since it seems like all the appetizers come in multiples of three and it would have been more easily shared between us.

In terms of the drinks, I'm a huge fan of cocktail but I would say their menu selections are a bit limited. Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice!
