This hidden gem has some of the best burritos I've had recently! Everything I've had there has been fantastic: the "mar y terra" with steak and shrimp, green chile pork with refried beans, the Hot Cheeto burrito (exactly what it sounds like, AMAZING!). My all time favorite is the chile relleno burrito-- chile, cheese, rice, beans, pico, and enchilada sauce. So good! If you're not a burrito fan, the tortas are also amazing-- expect two meals out of them, because the sandwiches are literally bigger than your head! While planning our visit with the in-laws and friends in Arizona, my husband immediately said he wanted to get burritos from this place. He said he had been craving them. We used to live in Tucson and this was a favorite of his. We both ordered the #1 breakfast burritos: the bacon, potato, egg, and cheese. The burritos were massive. The flavors blended well and overall they were tasty. By the time I got to the bottom 1/3, the grease had collected and then made the remainder of the burrito a little mushy. The cheese was not evenly spread out, it was all on one side so about every other bite had cheese in it. The place itself is a little run down but clean. The service was decent. Our order was taken quickly, but there is no good system for collecting your orders. We almost got ours mixed up with someone else's because there are more than one version of the #1. read more

Mainly responding to the 1 star review about service. We had some time while waiting for a Defy bday party and almost passed due to the 3 star average. Glad we tried it anyways. This Thornydale Fitos location has an excellent, professional short order cook. Every burrito/taco/enchilada we tried has come off the griddle flawless, hot and cold ingredients all perfectly fresh. The carne asada was A++, well flavored with almost no gristle unlike many other inexpensive Mexican restaurants. It seems to be family-run and their English isn't that strong (sometimes can result in nervous laughter) but how many stars can you take off for language at a small Mexican taco shop? For most people searching for Mexican restaurants, a low star average is interpreted as poor quality food. It's unfair, the food here is great! read more

I've never felt so disrespected at a food place in my life. I'm a pescatarian and was asking if I could just get a taco with potato and cheese seems pretty easy to me. They told me no. And then I asked if I could do a rolled taco with just cheese and I got told no and laughed at. If you want people to spend money here you should treat them nicely. Their red salsa is amazing and different than the standard super thin/watery salsa served at a lot of places. The staff is always friendly and the service is fast at reasonable prices. The absolute best fast service Mexican food I have ever had. My wife and I stopped by there for lunch on a Saturday. I was shocked to see they had red menudo. Not gonna see that at any other fast food place in town. We ordered breakfast style burritos and split a bowl of menudo. To our surprise the burritos were very large and tasted great. The menudo on the other hand was something else. It was just really AWESOME. Some of the best I have ever had in my life and I have had it from all over the country. Good food, but it's always filthy..dirty bathrooms, remnant food on multiple tables, trash on the floor, straw wrappers, napkins strewn about, etc. My table was covered in old dried up salsa. I was there for 20 min recently. During that time I listened to the gal talking to the cook (in Spanish) nonstop, the whole time. Obviously this convo was NOT work related. They were not busy. All the while I was looking around at the nasty filth all over the dining area. Can't they clean once in awhile? I think I'll probably look for burritos elsewhere. I love this place and the family does as well. We eat here probably twice a week.The food, prices, and portions are amazing. The pollo asada is simply amazing. Once I explained a food allergy, they haven't once forgot. Everybody says how filthy and dirty it is, but for being across from a major high school it's kept as clean as they can. This was my first time here. I ordered the 5 street taco plate with a mix of chicken and carnitas. Love that the carnitas had some crispy pieces and the chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. FOREVER LOST TWO CUSTOMERS We have been coming here a few times a week, decent food and good price. Just the other day, the tall young gentleman behind the counter wasn't wearing his mask. I asked him to put it on. I got a REALLY disgusted look from him. As I was trying to order, he kept demanding he couldn't hear me. The way he spoke felt very intimidating and I was getting pretty upset. We go across the street to Jasons now. I stopped by Fito's Thornydale Rd location on Wednesday 10/13/2021. Ordered 2 crispy shredded Beef Tacos to go. Service was quick and both the staff members on site were friendly and polite. The tacos were not what I expected. I received two Shredded Beef tacos, but they were made with Flour Tortillas with only grated cheese as "topping". The Shredded Beef was very flavorful, but the flour tortillas were like fried crackers - flavor coming from the cooking oil only. An abundance of factory grated packaged cheddar cheese also did not add to the flavor. No lettuce, chopped tomatoes, or cilantro. I was not impressed by the food after hearing so much hype about this restaurant. I got the steak burrito and the only other thing in it was guacamole. Usually when I eat burritos there is lettuce, cheese or something else in it. That's more of my preference but the steak wasn't that good either. My brother-in-law got the loaded nachos. The amount of toppings was great but there were no chips to eat the toppings with. The place wasn't very clean. I will not be going back! read more
