Met up with a friend at Tania's for a weekday lunch. Lots of tables and a HUGE menu. The staff are super friendly and helpful with making sure you get some amazing food. They have tacos, burritos, tamales... many of which are available to take home from their cooler area. The prices are also a great deal. The standard burrito is just $6 and you can get the giant "dinosaur" size for about $13. I was looking to get something lighter and my friend recommended we get the pozole. We got the small size and it was quite filling. My friend got one of their homemade tortillas to dip in the soup and that was a great move. The soup was rich and hearty with chunks of pork, lots of spices with beans, hominy. Topped with onions and cilantro it was the perfect lunch. Ordered through Uber Eats, Uber has them as Tania's Flour Tortillas, which, if you follow my reviews is ACTUALLY good, unlike this place which is wholly terrible. Not sure if that's intentional, but I messaged Uber about it and I am demanding it changed because I never wanted to get food from here again. As expected, my red Chile beef burrito was absolute garbage, and the flauta was $4 for basically a taquito drowned in lettuce with poor quality meat and zero seasoning to speak of. I despise this place and can't understand how anyone likes it. NOTHING has flavor here and now they are impersonating an actual good restaurant that they unfortunately share a first name with. I will not rest until Uber changes the name. Tania's 33 is atrocious and I will never buy food here again. We went for lunch my sing said it's one of her favorite spots to eat. I ordered taquitos rice and beans. It was actually pretty good I really liked it. My aunt ordered a burrito rice and beans and she ate it all up. I also got a hibiscus drink and it was good a lot stronger than I'm used to but I liked it. The restaurant has seating for up to 20 people or so. It does stay pretty busy no matter the time of day. We have eaten here a handful of times and the food is always delicious. The menudo is known for being best in Tucson, and we would agree with that! The regular burritos are a good size for $6 and the tortillas are so good, they remind me of my childhood. read more

I placed a pick up order on the website, and it was very easy to do. I got the ham and everything breakfast burrito, and saw that there was an option smother it with extra cheese and toppings. That cost three dollars. When I opened my burrito, there was barely any cheese on it, and there were no toppings. Definitely a huge waste of three dollars. The inside of the burrito itself was actually very dry, I'm surprised that there was no juice from the meat that was inside, and the sauces were not great either. I've been here a few times before, but I've not posted a review on it, so it's definitely overdue. Me and my boyfriend went to Tonya's during a week of trying Mexican food from different places. We both really enjoyed our experience overall and would go back again. Tania's has been around in the community for several years, serving traditional, Mexican food and offering a very large vegan friendly and vegetarian menu. It's a little hard to notice coming off the street that this is a restaurant, but don't be fooled by the exterior. The interior is very comfortable, welcoming, open, and there's plenty of seating. The food was really great, we each enjoyed a dish. We also shared a Mika, aqua Fresca and had plenty of food to take home as leftovers. Bathrooms are available for customers, we can be in there taking a go and it's great with prices to quantity. Customer service is simple and kind. Excited to go back more! read more

Dericiousss! I am making my way slowly to all the best food spots in Tucson. Tanias is a tucked away spot hidden behind "Taco Giro" restaurant which is also good. However Tanias has all the criteria I'm looking for in what I deem the official turrrnup beard award! Wowwww their tortillas are Literally life changing! The last time I actually had a tortilla this bomb was when I was in Mexico! The tortillas a super soft almost like an injera bread but layered and tears apart when you bite into it. They also have a lot of premade food for purchase. I am a HUGE BIRRIA fan and wow the meat has soooo much flavor! The birria meat is seasoned to perfection, tender and I loved seeing all of the little specs of veggies scattered within the meat. A true sign of the effort and love that goes into making this product. I asked for a side of guacamole which wasn't that great very bland but to be honest eat the way it's paired with this food you really don't want to add more flavor to the main star. So 10/10 stars for knowing how to layer this food. The birria burrito come with one red salsa which is very flavorful and has a nice tinge of spice! I bought some beef tamales which I'm super stocked about and the owner told me that are full of meat! I'll be back to try more of the menu! I ordered this from DoorDash and the 2 vegetarian burritos were amazing! The carrot bacon in an chimichanga with rice, jalapeño, and onions was fantastic. The veggie chorizo in an enchilada style was just as good. The flavors and size were amazing. Only downside was the expense. They both ended up being almost $30 burritos. My favorite place by far for burritos in Tucson. Their house-made flour tortillas are so delicious and fresh (though the freshness level can vary some by the day of the week). Really good tasting flour tortillas that are also lard-free. The real star for me here is the battered and fried cauliflower burrito. It is soooo good. I do think that this is a place to get a burrito at, I wasn't as impressed with the non-burrito options here like tacos/ nachos etc. I did enjoy their tortilla soup and for burritos I also really like green chilli one. I always want the battered cauliflower one though! Their beans ( vegetarian and vegan) are really good too. I love when they have the green salsa available with the burrito but sometimes they only have red salsa which is also good. Their green enchilada sauce is good too. I need to try the red enchilada sauce sometime. I didn't like the lentejas (lentils) but only tried those once. The battered cauliflower burrito here is a must try in my opinion as well as their house-made flour tortillas. I've really enjoyed eating at this establishment over the years. I used to love the chicharron burrito and the carne asada is also great. I recently realized what a large variety of vegan options they have and decided to try them out again. The bean burrito with everything was really good. The beans are spiced to perfection. I also added French fries to my burrito which made a great burrito even better! The owner was really helpful and answered all of our questions about the menu. My wife really enjoyed the vegan pastor burrito. If you're looking for good Mexican food on the west side of town, I'd recommend giving this charming little restaurant a shot. Very disappointed with Tania's 33. The food was mediocre, but the service issues and business practices were far worse. I ordered online a couple weeks ago, but was told they don't use that system anymore (the system ON their site) and to reorder, with the original $45 charge to be refunded. That refund never came, despite my efforts. Owner Rudy was notably rude during my attempts to resolve this. I've since disputed the claim with my credit card. Separately, my mother was grossly overcharged when an extra zero was added to her charge. When she noticed, the owner fixed the charge but blamed her for holding the card too close to the machine. I came here yesterday after hearing from many people it was a must try. Tanias is a real "hole in the wall", but the inside does a have a few tables for seating. I ordered the Vegan Pastor burrito and added carrot tocino. To start, the prices are very reasonable! For a regular size burrito it is $6 and any additions are $1. Also, not to mention, the size of their regular burrito is still GIANT! The flavors in the burrito were strong and delicious! The way the mushrooms were marinated could easily fool someone into thinking they are eating meat (in a good way). In addition, the rest of the fillings in the burrito, like the pico, was super fresh. I have to admit I have not had many burritos in my day, so I do not have much to compare to, but I will say this was a delicious meal! I recommend giving Tanias a try! My friend had the chicken burrito. Sizable for a small six dollar burrito and very tasty. This place Home makes their tortillas and she said they were really good. I had a calabacita bowl which I wish had had more veggies on top. However, the barria was very tasty. Both came with a red salsa that I personally found very watery and bland. But when I requested some green salsa, the lady gave me two containers and it was absolutely delicious. I would certainly come here again. The service is slow but I think that's because it's family run and they are efficient just not enough people to handle all the lunch rush; also, it's rustic inside, but definitely worth the visit. read more

This was a delivery order. If you are looking for good menudo, this isn't the place. Menudo should have tripe not just be maize. Advertise bread with it, but no bread. If you want a crusty tortilla wrapped around extremely salty chorizo, you'll enjoy it from here. Can't live off a past reputation Tania's. We stop here often to get tamales and tortillas. They are slays great. Sometimes we have to wait for fresh tortillas so we will often have breakfast. Yes it has to be breakfast as the tortillas sell out very quickly. That is why they are so popular. There breakfasts are very good with many choices. A unique location with s very small parking area. We have been eating at Tania's for years, but as of recently the owner has been making some very bizarre budget cuts that are diluting the taste of the food and experience in the restaurant. If you eat here they will not provide utensils, plates or ice for your drinks or cups. And if you ask for any of those the staff/owner is very rude. They use to have different options for drinks but he has now he has made it so you can only have coke or Diet Coke. So you're out of luck if you don't like either. It doesn't make sense? Sprite, Dr. Pepper are coke products they cost the same. They have also started using really thin cheap tortillas for their burritos, and it is noticeable because they are hard and fall apart. Salsa is nothing but water, and they are stingy with it. They give you a hard time if you ask for more. Horchata is watery. They are charging good money for their food but refuse to give the basics to eat like a normal person. If you are going to eat in the restaurant be prepared to eat without plates, utensils, cups, ice, napkins, and drinking hot coke cola out of a can because they will not provide for their customers. We asked for ice and were told no! And minutes later saw an employee fill up a giant plastic cup for himself. We were told "no" but employees apparently have more right to ice than a paying customer. Another problem is the owner is very moody and the women serving you the food are very unfriendly. Save your money and go somewhere else! While it's understandable that times are rough right now and some cuts are necessary, but the penny pinching is on another level of extreme! You can order ahead since they do get busy or order there. There are some tables to eat at. There are 3 sizes (Reg/Lg/XL) of burritos, but like a regular size is H-U-G-E and for only $6!!! What a deal!! I enjoyed every bit of my regular sized chorizo & egg burrito, but my stomach hurt since I was so full.... Oh and did I tell you they make their tortillas? They do! Went to go and pick up some Caldo the queso, The location was nice and clean. Fairly busy. But service was fast. Picked it up to go, to eat at home. Their menu as extensive and have a vast variety of foods that you could get, being a vegetarian/or vegan. It is a good option at this place The staff was extremely friendly, extremely helpful. They have to go options at the location. That are cold in the refrigerator section. They had several drink options. Including aguas Fresca's. (Horchata, Jamaica) very refreshing and delicious. Me at home with my car Doli castle. The flavor was good. The only issue that I had with it. Is that it was over salty. I'm not sure if it was too much bouillon that was placed in the broth, or just extra salt. The flavor was good. It would've been better with a little less salt. It's a nice place to go to grab some Mexican food. I feel that there are better places in town to get some fast Mexican food. I've only had their breakfast burritos, so I can only comment about those. They serve them ALL DAY LONG. In my book, that's a huge plus. They have three sizes: regular, large, and XL. I've only had the large, and they are pretty big. I can only imagine what the XL is like! The biggest downside is the price to value ratio. It's $13 for a large machaca breakfast burrito. I will say that that was one of my favorite burritos so far in Tucson. Aside from the burritos, their cold brew is dynamite! The service is consistently friendly and attentive. read more

The burritos are mostly tortilla, we ordered a regular and it looked like 1 egg was in there, at most. The burrito looked like 90% tortilla and 10% egg. I have to retract a couple of stars, based on my last visit in March '24. Went to pick up tamales and they didn't have -any-. I think the boss said they were short staffed so I said I'd come back. And I did, a few days later. Got a 6-pack to go and these were a pale shadow of the ones I've had before. Still big, but not very flavorful masa and the beef was very stringy and really dried out. We had to douse them with a lot of salsa. Disappointed and not likely to return. Alternative? Try the place just up the street on the corner of Congress and Grande. Older gentlemen was taking orders, he starts telling everyone they don't have to wait in line if it was a phone or online order to just grab your stuff off the rack, a woman told him she wasn't aware. I go up to pay and mention the parking and how I circled around four times to find somewhere to park to pick up my food, his reply "Well then don't come back, I don't need you ruining my day with your negative attitude" I tell him "I'm just voicing my opinion on the parking." He storms off to the back of the place while there are still people waiting in line to be helped. We had a combo plate with a taco and enchilada and added tamale and a red chili burrito that had beans and cheese in it a can of Dr Pepper and a bottle of Coke Zero and our bill was $43.87. I asked to explain the break down of the bill since it only shows the dollar amount but not the item it's for.
